I will have to update this later, as all I had was a delicious Red Sangria at the bar. Charmant is in a space previously inhabited by Mopho. Being a neighbor, I have been anticipating their soft opening. Well, I was late! They opened over a week ago, but, due to a signage delay, look very 'still in the works' from the outside...But they have really brightened up the inside with warm woods, deep blues and white! I was greeted warmly and offered the menus right away. When I expressed worry for not being dressed nicely (I was on a walk) they shushed me and made the point that they are a neighborhood establishment and I should always feel free to show on the go. It is upscaled a bit, but not formal. I think I'd go 'dressed casual' for dinner. Service was casual, kind and attentive. I will be making a reservation for Brunch or Dinner asap. They also brandished a pretty impressive Happy Hour menu with great deals. Go support this Mid-City Jewel!

Wow. Would give this place more than a 5 stars if possible. What an absolute gem-from the atmosphere, food (we ate it so quickly I couldn't get pictures), and SERVICE! You absolutely need to get the mom's crab dip-holy grail of seafood. The roasted cauliflower converted my cauli-hater friend. What really stands out was our server Lorenzo-he treated us like royalty, and really set the scene for the European experience by speaking with us in French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian. It's rare I can speak Franglish with someone-and it really felt like you took a jet to Europe. I'm not someone to usually write yelp reviews, but I couldn't keep my praise quiet with this one. Will be back many times!

Everything was wonderful. Joanna vinho verde was delicious and I can't find it anywhere. Some nods to Mopho on the menu.

Might be just an off day. The Puppy Drum fish special was really good. Nicely seared. The fried gulf Shrimp was really good. The only thing that I didn't like was the hush puppies. I prefer the flavor to be a little more sweet--these were a little bit saltier than I am used to. The Charbroiled oysters today were just okay. I felt like the whole plate had too much butter, lacking in a little more seasoning today. Overall, I think this little cozy spot is perfect to have a casual dinner. A solid 3.75. I think since this place is new, there is plenty of time to work out the kinks.

Bryan was our server and he was friendly and had great recommendations. I did the Reveillon which was 4 courses and I enjoyed it. The crab cake was my appetizer and it was my least favorite of the 4 courses. It wasn't bad but it was wowing. I really enjoyed the seafood boil bisque. The flavor was perfect and not overly spiced. My entree was the royal red shrimp pasta and it was good. I did have to add a dash of salt and pepper but the flavor was great with lots of fresh garlic. I finished with the chocolate bread pudding which was good but after the 1st 3 courses I couldn't finish. I hope more people check out this restaurant before we lose yet another restaurant in Lakeview. Ill be back to try the charbroiled oysters and seafood boil.

We often use this as a stopping place to use the bathroom and figure out where we are going next. I like that they advertise they have plenty of bathrooms as there is nothing I hate more than a large brewery with one bathroom. We found this to be walking distance from our more tourist area hotel, but others may feel it is not, although I do believe its close to a bus line. This place has a nice vibe and friendly service. We visited pretty close to opening and it was not crowded. It looked like there was a nice outdoor seating area as well, but after the walk we were happy to be inside where it was cooler. I also appreciate being able to charge my phone while I drink my beer. I was a little sad that it was not open at the same time as the bagel place next door as I really wanted to check that out as well. They do acknowledge their focus is not food, but sounds like they have food trucks at times. Unfortunately I can't recall what beers we tried, but I am sure they were delicious.

Once inside, though, the experience turns around nicely. We started with appetizers, and they were very good. The fried cauliflower and guacamole both stood out as solid, well-executed starters that set a good tone for the meal. For dinner, I had the shrimp creole with fried eggplant. The flavors were well developed and enjoyable. Personally, I would have liked a little more spice, but that's more of a personal preference than a flaw in the dish. The atmosphere was good. Very comfortable, relaxed, and fitting for an adult night out. As for the drinks, they were okay. I tried four different cocktails and none really wowed me, though they weren't bad by any means. Overall, Rosedale delivers on food and atmosphere, with appetizers being a highlight. Worth a visit, especially if you're focused on the menu rather than the cocktail list.

I do hope they add the avocado with crab and passion fruit dressing to their menu! Susan Spicer just never disappoints and the whole staff is friendly. This brewery is right on Decatur with a couple of tables in front good for watching the traffic coming through. There's also a patio in the back with plenty more seating options. I sat inside where there was plenty of space. There were a good selection of beers on the menu. And the options differed from other breweries with units of Liters. I, of course, had to have an IPA and I got in as a 0.5L (closest to a pint). The flavor was good with a good hoppy taste to it. This is a great place to chill with friends and enjoy some nice beers. What a change in atmosphere; groovy music & mumbly conversations to pure quietness and hearing everybody's voices. It was still a great experience. After about 15 minutes indoors with no a/c (IYKYK), the New Orleans heat caused us to head to the outdoor beer garden. It had rained a little bit, so it was a little cooler. FORTUNATELY, beer was still able to be poured, and the power was back on by the time the second beer was half gone. Aside from all that excitement, the focus is on the tasty beer created here. The two beers I had were great: Malcolm in the Mittlefruh and Helles Knows I'm Miserable Now (which I'm positive Morrissey would love - or would he just cry in it?). Kudos to the clever people that come up with the names! There is also a kitchen, but a belly still full from lunch, and no power meant no orders from us. Next time!
