Wonderful Cajun boil option in the FQ. Their hush puppies were perfect - traditional, cornmeal only balls of goodness that were the ideal complement to a spicy seafood boil. We came during peak crawfish season, so had to get a pound added to the crab and shrimp sampler boil. We like spicy food and got medium spicy, which was yummy but we'd probably kick it up a notch next time. Friendly service, and one of the few FQ boil spots open on Easter Sunday.

Didn't have to wait too long to be seated and really enjoyed the ambiance. Classic no frills boil place which we loved. Our server was nice and made us feel welcome. Drinks 6.5/10: decent flavor can tell it was pre mixed drink. Food 9.5/10 (make your own): food was seasoned very well. Seafood was fresh and overall really enjoyed the boil bag.

Shrimp and sausage boil in house Cajun sauce

I had to come here to check off seafood boil for the New Orleans eats bucket list. This is the main most popular spot for seafood boil in the French Quarter. I ate dinner here two times. Both times there was a 10-15 minute wait outside and then the service was pretty fast and friendly once you get seated. The inside is very casual and fast paced, but it's nice how they supply you with the gloves, bibs, and crabmeat pick too. First time here, we tried the premade combo with 1 lb of headless shrimp and snow crab and a separate custom combo of 1/2 lb of shrimp with sausage. Sadly, the combos we got only came with sausage and no potato or corn like the menu said. That was kinda disappointing. We ordered the house Cajun sauce at the hot spice level. While the sauce was pretty flavorful and a bit oily, I would've liked more of a spicy kick. The second time, we got the oysters and headless shrimp combo. The oysters were okay, not very flavorful or salty. Wouldn't really recommend oysters here. The combo was better this time because we got the promised potatoes, corn, and sausage for the make your own conbo. Also, we got it extra hot. Although we didn't think it was spicy, we just added Louisiana hot sauce for the right kick. I'd love if they offered spicier sauce options in the future though.

We were looking for a spot to grab a late night dinner after the Pelicans game and found Hot N Cajun through Google Maps. My husband ordered half a pound of shrimp and a pound of crawfish with the typical boil ingredients (corn, sausage, potatoes) and I got a shrimp po'boy. The po'boy was excellent, definitely one of the better sandwiches we had over Easter weekend. Shrimp was perfectly battered and fried, bread was light/fluffy & toasted well, and the lettuce/tomato/remoulade were refreshing and delicious. Hot N Cajun was super generous with their portions; we definitely had more seafood in the boil than was ordered, and we couldn't finish the last few pieces in our bag. Flavors were great, service was attentive, and this is an excellent late night option in the French Quarter!

Finally get to try the really authentic boiled seafood. We got the shrimp saga and added a lb of crawfish. Medium spicy with heavy house Cajun seasoning, plate licking gooooood.

You can't come to New Orleans and not try seafood boil. This place is super close to bourbon street and right by our hotel. Their seafood price is fair and hasn't changed since April 2025. We built our own boil which is nice and I like that they include potatoes, corn, and sausage once you buy a pound of seafood. You don't see that in California lol. They also give you a metal plate to pour the contents out onto which makes it easy to share. They also have crab meat pickers if you get crab! We had the hush puppies to start, it comes with its own sauce but honestly dip it in the seafood boil sauce- YUM!

Visited this place which was a block away from my hotel. Prices were reasonable. I wanted crawfish and catfish which didn't disappoint. Everything was well seasoned. I ordered online and arrived about 5 mins before the promised time. Restaurant was pretty empty. I was directed to the carry out area for pick up. I stood about 5 mins and then sat down. Several ppl walked by while I was standing and sitting until finally a waitress asked if I'd been helped. All in all I think I ended up being there 20 mins.

While in New Orleans my wife and I had Hot N Cajun on our must try list, and we both really enjoyed the seafood lobster boil. We ordered the meal with medium spice, but we could have done the hot. They were seasoned very good and very flavorful. The boil came with lots of shrimp, crab legs and lobster tail. The cook on the seafood was done perfectly. We also ordered the grilled oysters which were also very flavorful and good! It comes served with a garlic toast for dipping, which was incredible. Service is fast and the food came to the table in minutes.

One of, if not the best seafood boil spot I've been to!! We waited in a line for a little while, and I can see why ;) Great and classic options- not too complicated, but not too simple either. Just what you'd expect for food and seasoning options! Wonderful flavor and super fresh/hot. Service was great- and my server also knew which options on the menu were gluten free (most of it was). Would absolutely return when I'm back in the area for classic and delicious seafood boil!!

New Orleans finally delivered the crawfish i came to this city for: Out of the 3 different places we tried (so far) this place was the best. Service was quick and the bar made a great mojito. The crawfish were smothered with garlic and buttery goodness! Huge bugs and claws!!! Thank you hot n Cajun!

Hot N Cajun was one of our favorite food stops in New Orleans. The seafood boil was fantastic. The garlic sauces and spices really stand out. We also had the charbroiled oysters, and that was a solid choice too. Everything tasted fresh, bold, and properly seasoned. The garlic bread, corn, and potatoes were all great as well. Yes, it's messy and hard to eat, but honestly that's part of what makes it fun and special. Service was quick and efficient, even with the crowd. We waited about 30 minutes in line and it was absolutely worth it. One note on drinks: I'd probably skip the cocktails here. The Hurricane was very sweet for our taste, which is fine since this place is clearly about the food, not the bar program. If you want a real New Orleans seafood boil experience, don't skip this place. Seafood boils on the East Coast feel soulless compared to the seasoning and flavor here.

We waited about 30 minutes to dine in, and it was definitely worth it! Even after we were seated, there was still a long line forming outside. We started with the Cajun fries, it was perfectly crispy and full of flavor. For our main, we shared the King Crabbin' combo and added an extra pound of crawfish. Everything was so good, but the shrimp was my favorite! Highly recommend stopping by if you're craving a seafood boil.. you won't be disappointed!

We, party of four, arrived at 6pm and were seated immediately. We ordered house salad, king crab cajun blend, garlic bread and rice. The food was decent and service was good.

On a previous trip we had seen an evening show at Snug Harbor and wanted to experience something else. We had read good things about the Spotted Cat and their sets run all afternoon. We were a little confused about price because one of our guidebooks said there is no cover but you're supposed to order drinks. There was a doorman who charged us something like $5 each (still cheap!) and we ordered beer and a N/A drink at the bar and listened to a great jazz group playing old-time jazz. Interior is tiny and you're pretty close to the performers. We were standing at first but eventually found some seats as people left. There is even a back courtyard if you want to be outside, although I don't know if you can hear the music or not. We bought a CD from the band and enjoyed it when we got back home. While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars. We had such a great time sitting at the bar that my wife and I each finished two and a half Sazeracs, which tells you everything you need to know.

Boy, it was sure nice to get some vegetables in my stomach after eating all that yummy fried food during our stay! All in all, both dishes were delicious. The ambiance is amazing, plus velvet, emerald and sapphire tone, glitzy, and feels like a good photo op. The bar and cocktail menu looked expansive. However, I was going to be hopping on a meeting, so I could not partake, unfortunately. A group got this impressive tower of espresso martini and everyone seemed to be enjoying their drinks! I wanted that New Orleans seafood but had late lunch, so I opted for just the crispy gulf shrimp on cheesy grits. I really wished I can hungrier because the dish ended up being very heavy. The shrimp were nice and crispy. The charred Brussels sprouts gave me the false sense that this was a healthy dish because I was getting my veggie intake. The bacon jam was sweet and went well with the Brussels sprouts. I loved the combination of the cheesy grits and the Crystal hot sauce. It was the perfect amount of both and some how led me to understand why Americans put hot sauce on their Mac n cheese and some other cheesy dishes after 30 years of not really understanding the attraction to that combo. I got the marinated olives to go so I could have a little snack later. They were just stuff I feel I could get in a jar... not really sure if I could justify the price. I think this is a fine place if you're looking for a photogenic night out drinking with a group of friends. Could be really cute for brunch!
