Our waitress lacked the touch that makes fine dining experiences more enjoyable and a huge part of that was her limited culinary knowledge and inability to make guests feel welcomed. Once seated, I notified her that it was my mother's birthday and not once did she acknowledge her birthday. Now, I mentioned my background and dining experience because I have spent over 30 birthdays at several fine dining restaurants and have left every one of them feeling amazing- thanks to quality service. This waitress failed to provide that and her mannerisms showed her lack of experience in the service industry. Not sure if she is like this all the time, but she was not the best to encounter. Sadly, she could not sell any of the dishes nor explained them in their entirety and when bringing out the dessert with the candle, she just sat it down and quickly moved away. Management needs to get this woman trained because I certainly don't want anyone losing a job in this economy. Now that I've addressed that, I'll move on to the food and beverages because this made everything truly magnificent. Drinks: I ordered and loved the apertivo explosivo. This drink had a hit of bitterness that was perfect to prepare my palate for the experiences to follow. My next drink was a crisp glass of Pinot Grigio which paired perfectly with the dishes that I ate during the night. The rest of my party had a Strawberry No-joto and the Right Place, Wrong time and both of them loved it. STARTERS (all shareable) To start we had the famous: Macaroni pie-this pie deserves a seat at the table for all occasions. It's a culinary masterpiece!!!!! Gosh! I wish I could understand the concept behind it because Chef truly captured flavors and savoriness in every bite. Words cannot explain how divine this was and this coming from a Caribbean woman with knowledge of this dish because it's a Sunday staple in every home. Smothered turkey neck bones-the neck bones were smoky and tender. Best neck bones I've had in years. The gravy had a savory comfort to the dish and the potato salad on the side ushered in a wholesome southern feeling. ENTREES My dish- Redfish Meunière. I certainly hope that nobody had a bad experience with this dish because I don't think it's possible. This was the BEST redfish that I've had during my visit and it's credited to the divine seasoning, perfect cook on the fish, and beautifully paired side of diced cherry tomatoes, rich earthiness from the arugula, and balanced starch from the diced potatoes. The fish was also topped with a buttery soft crabmeat and there was a sauce which stayed on my palate well after the dish was gone. I cannot stress how delicious this was. Other party members had the Jerk Duck Breast and the Creole Beef Daube. Both dishes were stellar and I truly hope that guests are able to give it a try because with the little bites that I had, it was certainly worth it. To conclude we shared the Tres Leche cake and I'll warn you, share it lol this cake was soooooo sweet but creamy and good. Overall I would say that we enjoyed our dining experience even with poor service. It did not stop our evening and the rest of the staff were actually pretty nice. Great place for dates, dinner with the family, or a night with friends. The Chef truly shows why he's award winning and he isn't afraid to make culinary statements in each dish. I loved it!

About an hour later I was nauseated and had diarrhea for the next 4 days. Not a fun thing when you have a 10 hour drive home from NOLA. Rampart St., New Orleans) because we had a wonderful experience there last year during our annual cousins trip. Unfortunately, this year's visit was the complete opposite. We arrived around 9:00 p.m. with a party of 13. There was only one other table of four in the restaurant, yet our service was very slow. To make matters worse, our meals were brought out at different times instead of together. The biggest disappointment was the food. Nearly every dish served to our table was extremely over-salted and overly spicy. My sister-in-law ordered the lamb chops, but they were so spicy that she asked for them to be remade with no spice. The replacement order came back just as spicy, making them inedible. She ended up eating only a salad. As we noticed a pattern with everyone's meals, one of our family members politely asked our server if the kitchen could please tone down the seasoning on the remaining dishes. Unfortunately, that request made no difference. I ordered the smothered catfish with potatoes, and both were so salty and spicy that I couldn't eat them. When I mentioned it to our server, I was simply told that "that's how they season the food" and that a remake would probably be the same. As a result, I left without eating my meal. A manager did come to our table after hearing about the issues, but no effort was made to resolve them. There was no meaningful attempt to replace meals, offer alternatives, adjust the bill, or make things right for a table of 13 guests who were clearly dissatisfied. It's unfortunate because we genuinely enjoyed this restaurant last year and were looking forward to returning. Instead, we left disappointed by the food, the lack of customer service, and the manager's unwillingness to address legitimate concerns. Sadly, this experience has convinced us that we will not be returning, and I cannot recommend Headquarters by Nice Guys Nola based on this visit.

Each person got a different dish to experience all of them from the 3 course menu. The shrimp and goat cheese crepes along with the Pork Chops were a hit across the table. The service was fantastic and they took care of all our needs and checked on us regularly. The inside has a cozy home feel that just highlights the experience even more. The next time we come in town, I'll definitely be back!

The selection is old school southern comfort food from fried catfish to ettoufe to ribs to peach cobbler. Whatever you choose; it will be perfect, It will be mouthwatering, and it will be so very delicious. I recommend sitting in the veranda, especially in summer evenings. I actually created my own signature drink along with Alexa, the Bartender at the front bar (near the entrance). She's an amazing bartender with a wonderful personality. I chose to dine at the bar and enjoyed meeting other guests at the bar. I chose the Crawfish Bread and it was absolutely delicious! This venue is perfect for small or large parties/events! I enjoyed and highly recommend!
