Overall the service here can be slow. I'm not sure if this is a new establishment but it felt like it. Also a lot of the food is cooked to order and that can explain the wait time. Also they have a good deal for happy hour and a boho margarita. Double check menu for hours that apply. I will say it wasn't worth greeting the oysters. But overall I will return.

I didn't try the food here but the drinks are on point! Great service and a chill atmosphere. This is my second visit in two days. I will definitely drop in again on my next Nola visit.

Stopped in this place on Mother's Day. It was completely empty, so I didn't have high hopes initially. boy was I wrong!!! Best breakfast I've had in years. Service was good too!! I will definitely be back.

Please consider visiting any other restaurant than this one. I am typically prepared when it comes to finding a restaurant that has good reviews and enjoyed by many people. I made the mistake of not checking online reviews before giving them a chance. One star is for their bloody Mary because it was really good, but service was not very good and I didn't even get what I ordered. I asked for a breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs on whole wheat toast. I received a breakfast sandwich with a fried egg on white toast. It had already taken a significant amount of time to get our food and we did not have time to request them to remake it. My boyfriend and his friend ordered breakfast burgers and had requested the burger to be served medium. This burger came overcooked and dry and tough.

Ok... Stumbled on this place for dinner a year ago. We ordered oysters and drinks from a nearby restaurant and paid an arm and a leg. We left without ordering dinner.... f* that. Walked a couple blocks to this place and ate for days on authentic Cajun food. Seafood, shrimp po boys with tons of shrimp, and crawfish etouffee. Raw oysters on a half shell - a dollar a piece! Are you kidding me! In downtown New Orelans. Freaking awesome. Came back today a year later. The food just as good. Oysters and crawfish. Fresh!. Full bar! I'm back one more time before I leave. I didn't want to write this. I'm torn. Should people know about this place?!.. Or should I keep it all to myself ;)

My friends and I came here before the Bingo Loco Event. Nice lil spot for a bite to eat. It was happy hour and we got raw oysters and chargrilled. I only ate the chargrilled oysters and I thought it was okay. Maybe should be more charred or more seasoning. It wasn't the best I had. I also got the Southwest Chicken Bowl which was good. It was very fresh and the chicken was seasoned well. There were a lot of stuff on the menu to choose from. It's kinda like a cajun/Mexican kinda vibe. It had New Orleans dishes but also fajitas, tacos, birrias. The service was a little slow but I think it was only one server working. She was great though! Always had a smile on her face.

This is a cute little restaurant/cafe/bar downtown. It's new and I hope it does well because the food is really fantastic here! They have a huge menu and it seems that everything is very reasonably priced! I tried their shrimp scampi ($15) and it was perfect. White wine sauce, tons of seafood flavor, generous portions for being priced so well too. Delicious, great quality, and you go home full. What's not to love? I also got to try their boiled crawfish, and OMG it was SO good!! Salty and juicy, it was just how I like 'em! Plenty of juice to suck from the heads and super satisfying. Not insanely spicy, but for me, it was just right too. I definitely recommend coming by for their menu items as well as their crawfish! Check out their happy-hour deals too, they have some good ones!

Another 6 for me. That's how good the first six was!!

Our experience here was great! And to think, we almost walked on by. It's off the beaten path so on a Monday night, not a lot of folks there. But we went in. Jocelyn met us with a smile and seated us. Ok, the food we had was a dozen chargrilled oysters. Man, they were outstanding!! Great flavor and you'll want to sop (that means let the bread soak it up) the juices in the shells. They are that good. I also had the gumbo. Very good with excellent flavor. My wife had coffee and beignets. She says they were very good!! We highly recommend this gem of a place. And Jocelyn is a gem of a hostess and waitress!! Outstanding service. And hats off to the folks in the kitchen! Stop by when you're in the neighborhood, it's just a very short walk from The Roosevelt Hotel and other nice hotels in the area. Don't let the place fool you, it's worth the time and your hunger. We will be back when in NOLA. Enjoy!!

One thing that's nice about New Orleans is that most of the good locations for us tourists are centrally located around Canal street and the French Quarter making everything a simple walk to and from location to location. When visiting we like to try various local establishments, from classy to hole in the wall as we like to experience the various flavors that are offered even from similar dishes, as one dish can taste one way at location one yet taste totally different at location two. This was one of those experiences, it was a 6 block walk from where we were and the flavors were different but pleasant. The Shrimp Po Boy was our first try at a this sandwich and it was good. Shrimp is lightly seasoned and tasted good, the veggies in the bread made it taste very light and not heavy like cold cut sandwiches can tend to do, at least for me. The fries were good and well salted. This I would eat again. The Red Beans and Rice was the difference in taste. This one was spicier than others we had tried. Other locations tends to seems to focus on the flavor of the beans and sausage, this one had the bean flavor with a bit of zesty zip on the tongue. Yet it wasn't a build up spiciness like you'd get with jalapeños or cayenne peppers, it was a light simple zest that maintained a specific level and never got hotter as it builds on the surface of the tongue. First few bits it was questionable if it would get hotter, tho it never did and really turned out to be a nice meal. The sausage comes pre cut, so no hacking into casted meats with a spoon. We added the Boudin Balls as well, which sadly were extremely small and seemed to have some cheese in it. Others we have had were large and worth the cost and had zero cheese to influence the many texture and flavors of the boudin. It tasted ok, but wasn't something I was crazy about. Location is like 95% of the other locations in the tightly packed limited parking downtown, French Quarter, and French market .... Well, like most of New Orleans. We did find street parking for free, tho there are parking areas in this area that charge some pretty steep fees to stay at by the hour. The store is narrow and long, bathrooms all the way in the back. There is a glassed in court yard halfway back, this appears to be a very old converted home of some sort based on the layout, they do have room to grow if desired. Staff was limited as was the crowd, but the waitress was very kind and nice. Very clean place. Would definitely go again.

We came here during happy hour and tried quite a few items. The grilled oysters were not the best quality hence the price point. We have eaten grilled oysters in 4 different spots before heading here. We wanted to try the crawfish boil and were disappointed as well. The corn was still cold in the center and the crawfish was okay. Again, we have eaten at multiple places for crawfish. All it all, this was a big miss for us and was our least favorite place we tried.

This a short 10 minute walk from our French Quarter location. We decided to try based on Yelp recommendations. They had 40.00 all you can eat crawfish with purchase of any beverage. Saw several go by...looked and smelled delicious but not my husband's thing so had to pass. I got a half muffuletta which was loaded with olive spread. Crispy bread..half was big enough I brought half back to the room. My husband got Jambalaya which he said was good. Place was off of the hustle of Canal and was very clean and well decorated with friendly staff. Good prices...great experience..would definitely recommend!

Service was outstanding. The ladies at the bar were exceptional! For takeout, I ordered the chargrilled oysters and seafood platter. The chargrilled oysters were a good size and well-seasoned. The seafood platter was coated with panko breadcrumbs and deep-fried to perfection. Compared to other restaurants, Chapin's shrimp were remarkably larger in size. We also received a generous portion of fried oysters. The seafood platter would be enough for two people. The only thing I would suggest to the restaurant is to make sure you give us dipping sauce. I received utensils but no dipping sauce. The take out was going directly home so it was not a problem for us but might be for someone who's ordering during their lunch break or a tourist ordering to go back to their hotel. Over all we enjoyed our take out.

My family and I came here, first place we stopped after making our way into New Orleans. The restaurant was absolutely empty. We were the only party there. We were there during happy hour. The place looked promising from the outside. When we came in, I know that I was personally very underwhelmed. There was one waitress. It looked like she was on her phone. But then again, I can't blame the girl since there was nobody else in there until we walked in. When she came over to our table, she brought us a few menus and walked us to a booth.I don't know if it was the case, but she seemed like she spoke very limited English. Either that or she just really doesn't talk very much. No matter, we ordered. Two people in our party ordered quesadillas. After having left the restaurant, they kept raving about it. So, I guess the quesadillas were really good. I am a creature of habit and ordered the sausage. Breakfast burrito. It wasn't bad but the potatoes were not what I was expecting. These were like giant breakfast fries that were just put into the burrito. I don't know. I guess it just wasn't what I was expecting. Happy hour prices were great. My little one had a grilled cheese with a side of fries. She wasn't too fond of the fries either. I don't know if they lack seasoning or if they just weren't that good. But then again, my kiddo seems to be somewhat of a snob. She's pretty picky. I feel like the pictures of my food give them a lot more credit. I mean, nothing really was wrong. But like I said, I was just very underwhelmed. For it being a Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant, I was really shocked to find that they did not have Horchata. I was literally shocked. One thing that I did notice that was kind of odd to me was that every time the waitress approached our table, she came over, not only smiling with the biggest grin, but she was always giggling. I have no idea what she's giggling about, but it's just something that we noticed. My husband ordered oysters on the half shell. They were on happy hour. I don't remember exactly the price, but they were something ridiculously reasonable. He said they weren't bad, but they weren't great. The number one biggest thing, at least he did not get sick from them or anything. It's a good thing that we were a low maintenance party. Once the waitress brought our food over, I don't even remember her coming back to check on us except to bring us the Bill. Like I said, overall just underwhelming.

We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and drinks at Luzianne. Minor things noted, mainly on the cook of the eggs, but nothing awful. It his the spot and checked the boxes!
