Grilled shrimp and fried green tomato/avacado salad

The best grilled shrimp I have EVER had came atop a salad with fried green tomatoes, avacado slides, arugula, black beans, and corn. It was SOOO good! The service was attentive and the kitchen and grill area was visible when you enter. I would love to go back next time I'm in New Orleans.

$115.00 dollar Andre in the manager didn't even care

how disappointing i thought i was getting shrimp and crap artichoke ravioli and I got shrimp and crab and artichoke over penne pasta I see on the menu that that is correct. I misread it. I talk to the manager, but he was like oh no sorry I spent $115 one entrée three drinks food they're usually good but this time how disappointing the cook came up with the plate and it was good to go order and then he just dumps it and it's a go foam container how disappointing after being snowed in for three days I'll get a crap entrée and I don't even get a salad. Shame on Sun Ray Grill

Enjoyed our lunch at Sun Ray Grill so much. She had the Pecan Crusted Chicken Salad, and I had the Jumbo Grilled Gulf Shrimp, with Lump Crab Meat, Olives, Artichoke, and Fresh Pasta. Wow what a great combination of tastes! Every ingredient is So Fresh and delicious. I really didn't expect to eat it all but couldn't help myself. Got another order to go for Matthew and Sofia. If you've never tried SUN RAY GRILL, do it real soon. This place has some really SPECIAL Flavors coming from their kitchen. This is what I miss about Louisiana, the food is Second To None!!!

The food here is always fairly good, but make sure you have a current menu. I checked the menu on Yelp and ordered a chicken salad and a side of brussel sprouts for lunch one day. When i arrived to pick up my lunch, i was told the total was $33. I was shocked. The salad was okay...not so large though. The brussel sprouts were nothing special.

Tapas Tuesday was Great. Food was wonderful as always. Service was very pleasant. Sun Ray is a very nice place . I will be back soon.

Full of flavor and shrimp perfectly cooked Red beans n rice (4/5) -- massive serving size, but wish they gave more rice and also cooked the rice a bit more. The beans were super creamy and flavorful, but not overly salty. The split sausage was meaty and flavorful, but the chunks already inside the red beans were dried out Interior is decorated with awesome art and staff are friendly and very proactive. Take a walk on Magazine Street, browse the shops, and then come on in to eat here. This was our last dinner in New Orleans on a five-night trip to Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. We were staying in the Garden District of Nola, and decided to try Joey K's. Ambiance is comfortable and casual. The artwork and overall decor is eclectic, original and fun. Service was great! Our waiter doubled as the bartender, yet he never left us wanting. Food here is the real winner, and if it's Southern comfort you want, that's what you'll get. We ordered family style, and our table was covered with food. We had the following spread: 1. Two-piece dark meat fried chicken dinner with two sides -- we picked mashed potatoes and gravy, and cabbage (cooked in bacon drippings...oh my, so good). 2. A bowl of gumbo 3. A fried shrimp Po'Boy 4. Crawfish and corn fritters with spicy powdered sugar and remoulade 5. A side of cornbread (for only $1.50!) My favorite thing was the fried chicken and sides. The cabbage was a vegetable only in the most remote sense of the word due to the bacon it was cooked in, but who cares on vacation? It was scrumptious. The cornbread was hot, moist, not too sweet, and out of this world. Great price point, too! This wound up serving as dessert. I love the fritters, also -- they were perfectly deep fried, and nice and moist on the inside. The Po 'Boy was my least favorite, but that may simply be cuz I was getting full at that point and couldn't handle the bread. All in all, we had a great night on Magazine Stree and a fantasic comfort food meal at Joey K's. The menu is huge -- there's something for everyone here, so come on in and enjoy.

They were so good! For dessert we had the brownie and the butter cake! The butter cake was amazing! The brownie a bit dry. I think the brownie would've been much better with ice cream. However, all in all the food was 10 out of 10 would recommend! As for drinks, we tried just about everything on the menu, and I would highly recommend anything with gin in it! While the food was amazing, the service was a bit slow... As this was my first time, that's what I can say. However, I was visiting family who has been here multiple times and they were surprised by the slow service. So my assumption is that it is not slow service typically. Our waitress was awesome and very polite! I really enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant! We were sat outside. I enjoyed the outdoor lighting and the music they were playing. Some might think the music was too loud, but I thought it was perfect! Would I recommend this place to other others? YES! I will be going back!

To start, this is not in a location I would ever have made it too without a Groupon. But I will be back! It's deep into an industrial area of Gretna facing the levee. It's not picturesque, but the interior (from what I could see through the window as they are closed for now due to Covid) looks like a fun, spacious almost retro dining area. We found the order window and rang the bell for service. One woman is handling orders and she gave us the option to call in to avoid standing in the rain but we gave our orders at the window. A lil poppa, big poppa and large potato wedges with honey bbq sauce ( DONT GET THE LARGE, it's craziness, small is plenty for two). The service was fast and we ate at the picnic benches under the over hang. Burgers were well seasoned and appropriately sized for the price/description). Good toppings, sauce and buns. I would love to try the onion rings, chicken and waffles and chicken sandwich. I'm impressed and would recommend this for all burger lovers!! I visited with a friend from Louisiana, who is now living in the DC area. We decided to splurge and try a few things. The Big Poppa Bacon Burger is a must! It's their signature burger. Big, grilled well, flavorful, soft bun, and plentiful bacon. We also sprang for their Louisiana Fried Chicken and Waffles. They did not disappoint. The chicken was tender and juicy and perfectly paired with the sweet waffle. As if we hadn't splurged enough, we ordered the Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake to wash it all down. This diner does not skimp on ingredients. Definitely a great place to visit and enjoy local fare. The only downside is that dining curbside is in a not so aesthetic area.
