    Mayo bottle.

Ordered a burger and fries. Burger seemed to be a frozen patty thrown on the grill. It had a strong grilled taste. I decided I wanted extra mayo on it. There was a squeeze bottle on the table. After I opened the lid, I decided I had enough mayo on my burger. The lid was NASTY! As I was putting the mayo back on the table against the wall where it was, I noticed the wall. It had food (probably gravy of some sort) splattered on it. I then noticed the painting was also splattered. Totally lost my appetite. The fries are coated. If you like coated fries, then you will like these. I just want potatoes, not stuff added to make them crunchy. My husband ordered the pork chop poboy. It was generous in size. However, it seemed to be a frozen pork patty, not a fresh pork chop like he expected. This was our first time eating here. Not sure if we we'll be back.

Shrimp on bun w/ cheese & grilled onions

The establishment is very nice & so is the staff! It appeared to be very clean as well. When I went, I ordered the shrimp on bun with added cheese and grilled onions, small fries & a sprite. The total came up to $22 and some change. I wasn't a fan of the fries, honestly, because I didn't enjoy the way they were fried.. it was too crunchy for me (but not in a burnt crunchy way, maybe they have batter on their fries). The sandwich was good, it tasted like a traditional shrimp on bun. However, the cheese and grilled onion really set it off for me!! It took it up a level! I just was turned off by the fact that some of the shrimp were deveined and some weren't. For that reason I won't reorder it. Everything was very fresh and didn't take too long for me to receive. Overall it was okay, nothing to be crazy over. I give it an 8/10.

Monstrous muffuletta, the best I've ever had!

It was my first time here. Tiny place, very clean, very friendly. Ordered and got my salad in a minute. Everything else came in 11 minutes. This is the best food I'd had in a long time. We'll be back! Fantastic food and service!

I'm ashamed to say I only recently heard about Central Poboys even though they have been around for over a decade. Central Poboys has some amazing burgers, like their roast beef debris burger, and their poboys are really large. They also have a great selection of daily specials and then you don't want to miss their dessert options. Overall this is a great spot to get your poboy or burger hunger totally destroyed with huge portions and great flavor. My video review of Central Poboys is here: https://youtu.be/8M1WXsr23yk

We were always curious about this place because we pass by often and when it is open, there's lots of cars... they are open only Monday through Friday from 11am to 3pm. Yes, they have limited hours but it is a MUST TRY kind of place. Their staff is super friendly, the place is really cool and the food is OH MY! We tried the onion rings and they are definitely the best onion rings in town. We also tried the burger and shrimp poboys and they were also extremely good. You can tell that they strive for quality and customer service. I know the hours are limited but make it happen! You won't regret it.

Alligator sausage po-boy with perfect fries.

Caught a craving for a po-boy, and had an appointment at a nearby place. So I let Yelp guide me here. Special on the menu today includes an alligator sausage po-boy. Well. I guess that settles that. Atmosphere seems like a dive at first, but it's very clean with a rustic look. The server taking my order threw me off a little asking if I wanted lettuce, tomato, and mayo. I suppose they've had too many out-of-towners who didn't know what "dressed" meant. The sandwich was good - crusty Leidenheimer bread and a good sausage (split and grilled nicely). Hard to tell alligator sausage from pork, but it was good. Tomatoes were a little scarce on the sandwich, but overall it was good. The fries were perfectly cooked - perfectly brown and crispy. Nothing to say but perfect. Service was a bit inattentive but not bad, really. Certainly something worth coming back for if you're in the neighborhood.

So yummy and sooooooo much food. The food is really tasty. The portions are huge. I had the 12" fried oyster poboy... definitely could have ordered the 8" because I didn't finish 1/2 of the sandwich. The bread was so good. Very soft and chewy with a nice crust on the outside. The service is excellent... very friendly.

One restaurant that locals constantly recommended to me was Drago's Seafood in Metairie, and now I completely understand why. I ordered the charbroiled oysters along with the crawfish platter that came with crawfish étouffée, crawfish mac and cheese, and fried crawfish. Every single thing on the table was incredible. The charbroiled oysters absolutely lived up to the hype rich, buttery, smoky, and packed with flavor. The crawfish platter was just as impressive and gave me a chance to try multiple Louisiana dishes all in one meal. What really stood out to me beyond the food was the service. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and patient with questions from someone who isn't from Louisiana and still learning the local food scene. You can tell they take pride in both the restaurant and the hospitality. The only downside is parking can get a little complicated because the place fills up fast, which honestly says a lot about how popular it is. Just plan ahead or expect a short wait finding a spot. Overall, this is one of those restaurants that feels genuinely loved by locals and absolutely worth visiting if you're traveling through the New Orleans area.

My bartender, Darryl, took fantastic care of me. Vibes in this place are very warm and cozy, I sat at the bar to the right of the entrance as you walk in. I had a half dozen char grilled oysters and a cup of seafood gumbo. I see why the oysters are so popular, they are a hit. Buttery and garlicky, the crusty bread they serve with them is a great compliment to soak up the sauce. I had originally intended on getting the chicken and andouille gumbo but Darryl steered me away from it, he said it was very salty. I trusted his word and went with the seafood gumbo instead and was very pleased with it. The flavors were fantastic, but I am gonna ding it ever so slightly as I think $8.99 is kind of an obscene price for that serving size, but at least it was good. Overall I'm very satisfied with my lunch and the service, I think if you like seafood and you're in their area, you should eat here. Edit - $9 for a pint is a little over the top too, imo. My "light lunch" was $42 before the tip.

Located right at St. Charles & Carrollton on the streetcar line, it's super easy to get to and always buzzing in the best way. The drink options are endless--great cocktails, frozen margaritas, beer by the glass or pitcher, and a huge variety of beers to choose from. TVs are everywhere, making it a perfect spot to catch sporting events, meet up with friends, or just hang out solo. The vibe is low-key, casual, and welcoming--no frills, just a consistently good time. I also love that they're open 11 AM to 1 AM, seven days a week, which is clutch no matter the day or occasion. If you're looking for great happy hour options, strong cocktails, classic New Orleans eats, and an Uptown spot where you can relax and connect with friends, Cooter Brown's always delivers. As soon as they arrived, I picked one up and immediately thought, "Wow, this is incredibly light." Anyone who eats crabs regularly knows that's usually a bad sign. When I opened it, it was completely hollow inside--nothing but an empty shell. A crab that is hollow like that was dead before it was cooked. I never took a single bite. I showed it to our server, Remy B., who apologized and said she would let the manager know. She took the plate away, so I assumed the issue was being handled. When the bill arrived, I was still charged for the crabs. I asked to speak with a manager and explained exactly what happened. She confirmed that I had notified the server and that the plate had been taken away. Then she told me that it didn't matter because their policy is to not give refunds or remove food from a check. Let that sink in: they acknowledged that I didn't eat the food, acknowledged that the server removed it, and still charged me for it. A restaurant standing behind its food is the bare minimum. Charging customers for food that was clearly unacceptable and never eaten is ridiculous. The lack of concern from management was even more disappointing than the crab itself. The only reason this review isn't 1 star is because the young man at the host stand was friendly, professional, and the one bright spot of the entire experience.
