This place has cows everywhere! It seems like they've gotten some new ones recently. Such adorable decor. Service was fast even though they were busy. I had a go bananas milkshake and my honey had a caramel carumba milkshake today they of course were amazing. We have never had a bad milkshake at this place! It is right on the St Charles line of the street car. They've got a clean bathroom and paper towels. There's free water out on the counter. People next to us are eating sandwiches and they look really good. They have fun names too. See the menu below.

Milk Bar was so yummy! I came with a friend and we were looking for an easy meal and stumbled upon milk bar. There was a ton of people inside. It was kinda hard to find a place to sit but spots cleared up pretty fast. I got the Christmas in July sandwich and it was great! The sandwiches are huge too, so I had enough left over for another meal! My only complaint is that it was pretty hot inside the building, but I think it's worth it to come anyways. I can't wait to try another sandwich from here!

We got the special bahn mi moo and a chicken parm sammich... delish! The employees were so nice since we were in there right at 11am, the interior was the cutest with all types of cows. Definitely would go back when I'm on that side of town to try another or even a salad!

This place is so peak it's not even funny. The sandwiches are always affordable, tasty, and interesting no matter which one you get. The daily soup hits. The milk shakes always hit the spot no matter how you shake it. It is a go to local spot with amazing food and great service. If you need a bite to eat in the Carrollton/Uptown area while you are taking the street car anywhere, this is the perfect place to stop at.

The Milk Bar did not disappoint. The sandwiches and milkshakes are excellent, and there are veggie options in sandwiches and salads. The staff was super friendly. This is well worth a trip. Our suggestion would be to take the streetcar. I am always skeptical when Yelp says a restaurant has the best sandwich in the State, but I think they may be right. To top everything off, they gave us each a sucker that matched the flavor of milkshakes we ordered. The Milk Bar will be on my must-visit list for any future trips to NOLA.

Saw an article stating that this place is the best sandwich shop in the state! I got here on Saturday noon to find out, but it was packed. Ordered what is considered the sandwich to order: Occidental Oriental. They seem to specialize in coffee and milkshakes though, looking at the decor. The store is part of a corner plaza in the edge of east Carrollton. The sandwich came hot with melting cheese, but it was just toasted banhmi. Bun was light and crunchy with peanut sauce and same trimmings just with chicken slices. It was good, but not best in state. For best bahnmi with half the price, go inside the Hong Kong market in Gretna. 3.5 stars, next door seems promising, Cheers!

Absolutely delicious! I'm not sure if it's just me but the bread is almost kind of sweet, reminded me of a donut, maybe because it was really soft? Not as sweet as donut though. The staff are great. I came in on a Tuesday around noon and it took about 5 minutes for my sandwich to be ready. They offered me a cold water while I waited. After 5 minutes, 9 people came in to get in line so be prepared to wait s little. This place is always booming. I got the clooney's choice and it was great. The toppings and cheese melted in my mouth. This place is located off S Carrollton Ave nearby Walgreens with plenty of parking.

I had the Thai lamb sandwich. It was a great sandwich big enough for two meals. I'll try something else there soon.

Ask the Community - Milk Bar

Are yall open for dine In?

I'm not sure. When we went in the middle of May to the Milk Bar they were serving from the front door and the dining area was closed.

Are there any vegan options available?

They have a roasted eggplant sandwich, one with spinach, artichokes, & mushrooms, and a few salads (mexican chipotle, spinach, caesar, maple pecan & feta)

Cute coffee shop on the outside and inside, but the coffee was quite mid & so was the breakfast…read moresandwich. Nothing special about either. Service was also a bit rude and rushed and we were the only ones ordering. 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches were $27.50 I likely won't recommend or go out of my way to go back. New Orleans has some high coffee competition in my opinion and this place just didn't do it for me.

This is what I would call a Orleans Parish fancy coffee shop setting with home made meals and coffee in Jefferson. You feel like you are in New Orleans as it is a raised house, with high ceilings, wooden creeky floors, door locks that barely work for the bathroom, and even live music. I have been coming here monthly since the summer and it is a small business owned by a woman who makes her own pickles and cookies with sea salt and coffees. Since it is small, they sometimes run out of items so if your heart is set on something call ahead. She has the most incredible pulled pork cheesy biscuit. Again, sometimes the cheesy biscuit is out, but the regular biscuit is just fine. The home made pickles are truly incredible. My hubby does not like pickles and he craves these. There is a sweetness to them, it isn't all vinegary. And the owner is considering selling them on the side soon. The cookie is a chocolate chip cookie that she adds seastalt to that enhances the flavor. The salad I had, she was out of the particular greens, but the salad was amazing too! The coffee I had was a caramel or something style, it was so good, I got it in cold and hot latte style! I love the teal truck outside that matches the door. The place is clean inside. There are steps to get into the place, there are about 5 or 6 small tables inside, there is a porch with a couple of small tables as well. Prices are on par with any other Orleans parish coffee shop, and parking is off street parking and is across the street which is basically Causeway.

Service: You're going to walk into this restaurant and feel like you're the most important customer…read morethey've ever had. We were greeted before we ever made it through the door by a gentleman dressed very nicely (with a bow tie!). He took us to our table and immediately took our drink order then explained the specials and answered our questions about some of the items on the menu. Service was genuine, friendly, fast and thorough. Food: first and foremost both our meals were delicious! I love the fact that they came out fast and hot. The pork chops (you get two with your order!) were amazing - juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection, the chef made a sweet potato chutney that was out of this world! The Mac and Cheese was flavorful and the ratio of noodles to cheese was perfect (I love the fact that it was baked on top!). If you select a meal that offers the sweet potatoes as a side dish, trust me, you're not going to wanna miss this opportunity for the best sweet potatoes you've ever had. Both the manager and the chef visited with us for a bit, representing the best in southern hospitality. We felt like we were eating at somebody's home as invited guests versus your typical rushed service. We'll be back on our next visit to New Orleans!

Chad is the absolute best! The food was so good I forgot to take pictures! The fried turkey necks and Kala (play on corn and rice) were my favorites! I will absolutely return!
