Walked over from Delgado with a few classmates for lunch. It was a little busy, but we were able to quickly find a table outside. The menu offered an assortment of sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads, sides, and even included a few items for the pups! Our waiter was friendly and the food came out quick. We were excited to discover that they offer Delgado students 10% off! We'll definitely be back. If you're looking for a casual relaxed dining experience with indoor or outdoor seating, I'd definitely recommend coming here.

This is a nice neighborhood spot with nice outdoor seating that's dog friendly! It gets very busy on the weekend but they still get you seated and served in a reasonable time frame. The food is pretty standard, I had a good cheeseburger.

I came here for brunch on Sunday and got a table outside. It was pretty packed because it was a beautiful day. The service was great, our server was really attentive and sweet! The blueberry pancakes aren't listed on the menu nor are the bottomless mimosas but they are both available! My food was delicious and I plan on coming back for sure

Getting here around noon on. Saturday n it was packed. It's open seating but I think you still need to check in with someone inside, especially if you have a bigger group. We sat outside to enjoy the nice weather and I noticed they do have little roll-up (or down) clear plastic incase the weather gets funky. The service was great, no complaints but were easy customers so it was all pretty straightforward. We both got omelettes and they were really good. I went with the southwest omelette which hit the spot. The eggs were cooked just right and they're sizable. I'm always happy when a place knows how to do grits and Navarre's were on point. Not too soupy or lumpy- the perfect consistency. You may need to add a little salt and pepper to it but I prefer to season my own grits anyway. They also do bottomless mimosas for $20 which is a pretty damn good deal. I'm definitely re-listing this place high up on my breakfast/brunch list for those nice days biking through city park n need a solid bite to eat.

Went for breakfast. Staff was amazing. So friendly! If its a pretty day, this is the perfect breakfast spot to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The iced mocha was delicious. Not too sweet and perfect to start off your day. The 3 eggs and grits with gravy were delicious as well if you're craving a traditional egg breakfast. Now for the star of the show - the Cuban sandwich! Wow. So good!!!!! I'll definitely be back for the Cuban and will crave it until I can have it again.

I've been wanting to dine at Cafe Navarre for a really long time and finally got the chance on a weekday morning. It's street parking only and I found a park easily. I imagine it would have been more of a challenge on the weekend. When we entered, we were able to sit wherever we wanted and chose a table in the elevated section of the restaurant. The biscuit was sliced open, buttered, grilled and most importantly, it was on point! I wasn't a fan of the grits but the other guest loved them. The omelet was decent, maybe slightly overcooked, but had good flavor. I'm definitely glad that I tried this place, but think there are better options around.

Chicken pesto panini was great for a light lunch of a hot summer day. I switched out the kettle chips for a side Caesar salad and it paired very well with the sandwich. The Caesar dressing on the salad and the pesto on the sandwich were both very yummy. We sat outside and it was nice with fans blowing on us and music playing as well as many shaded tables and chairs. Our waitress was good also. The inside did look old and the bathroom was small. Enjoyed my lunch.

Super solid chicken salad sandwich, the salad with fried shrimp was very good too. My partner and I came for lunch on a Thursday at 2. Seating was fast and easy, they had the fans blowing outside so it felt so good even though it was 90° outside - it was perfect. The service was so kind and also fast. They also offer many drink options (we just had water)! The playlist was FIRE. Top r&b, soul, & hip hop beats for the whole time we were there. Loved that. Vibed out on the patio!!! Super solid, quick lunch spot. Fairly priced. $40 for two for lunch (tip included in that). Stop by & enjoy. I'll be back.

Went for a brunch with friends and boy do they get busy getting closer to lunch. Their hot Irish coffee is delicious and comes with a caramel drizzle. I got the bacon avocado Benedict and the poached eggs were overcooked but the flavor was decent. The breakfast potatoes were your run of the mill breakfast potatoes.

It's great for what you come for...a neighborhood restaurant with good food and excellent service. I come two to three tines a month and will do so indefinitely

An outdoor patio on a beautiful New Orleans day. Perfect experience for this Maryland foodie! Friendly-fast service, affordable cuisine and amazing food. If you find yourself in New Orleans, Cafe Navarre is a must! The breakfast bowl reminded me of an open-faced omelet. All of the components paired together worked perfectly, especially the potatoes. I am a sucker for perfectly seasoned home fries! There is nothing worst than wasting your daily carb intake on bland potatoes. One things for sure, Cafe Navarre nailed it with these spuds! I almost ordered a second helping! The frozen Irish coffee was the ideal drink to pair with this tasty breakfast dish. The liquor to coffee ratio was perfect. And I did not feel guilty at all for having two! These five stars were definitely well-earned! Awesome experience!

My previous review was from my first time here when we moved around the block to the neighborhood. Now, we've become regulars. I love love love this place. Adorable little patio, happy hour specials, delicious food. What more do you need?.... Did you say brunch?! Because OMG their brunch is truly to die for. Show stopping good. Love this place soooo much

If you read…read morethe whole review I'll give you the best tip on how to skip the line (insert shushing emoji) and don't cheat by skipping to the end! Hands down, the best po'boys in all of NOLA. Everything is made from scratch (except the bread, which they source locally), and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorites are the Surf & Turf and the James Brown. The Surf & Turf gives you get the best of both worlds (shout out to Hannah Montana). Look it up kids. You get the slow-cooked roast beef with gravy plus fresh Gulf shrimp. Shut the front door! The James Brown is just as incredible: juicy BBQ beef, pepper jack cheese, fried shrimp, and a hot sauce mayo. Bring napkins - you'll need them. Pro tip: go with a group and order a few different po'boys to share. You'll want to try everything. You made it to the end, so here we go. I feel like gate keeping (look it up old-timers), but I'm going to be generous because I love y'all. In order to skip the line, go to the bar area and find a high top or seat at the bar. A seat always opens up quickly. It never fails. You can order from the bartender and the service is top notch. Cheers y'all!

Parkway Bakery & Tavern -- 4…read more Okay... let's start with the bread, because baby in New Orleans that's where it's won or lost. And THIS bread? Yeah... they did that. Soft, fresh, easy bite. Not that hard French bread that have you pulling and pulling like you in a workout and your jaw about to lock up. As a born and raised New Orleans girl, I'm real particular about my French bread because the bread will make or break your sandwich. I don't know if they bake it in-house or source it, but whatever they doing... keep doing it. Now before I even got the food, let me talk about ordering because that was a little journey. I ordered online and initially had some issues. I actually had to go through Google and search to even find the right website. It wasn't super easy to register or navigate at first, but once I got to the correct site, it was smooth sailing from there. I placed my order, got a time window, and they gave very clear, precise directions on what to do when I pulled up. Now pulling up, I did have to go around the corner to get into the drive-thru situation, but when I tell you... they have a SYSTEM. Very organized. Cars lined up, steady flow, and it looked like business was booming. There's artwork outside, multiple stations, and everything just felt like it ran with purpose. I walked up to the first booth, told the man my name, and he already knew my food was ready. Directed me to pull up to the red light where pickup was, no confusion, no chaos. They don't play. They stand on business and I respect that. Now the food... The shrimp were nicely fried, good size too. Not them little tiny ones where you gotta search through the sandwich just to find one. Every bite had shrimp, evenly distributed, and seasoned well. That's how it's supposed to be. The sauce was good too. It had that New Orleans style BBQ feel to it, kind of like a BBQ shrimp sauce. Messy in a good way. Now the roast beef... Flavor was there, but texture-wise it leaned a little dry for me. It wasn't juicy like I expected. It did say it comes with pepper jack, but I didn't really catch that flavor. Granted, I did add onions and mustard, so that could've played a part. Overall though, it's still worth trying again. Next time I'm probably going to order it as-is, no changes, just to really get the full experience the way they intended. But yeah... Parkway definitely earned a spin back.

It has an interesting, culturally diverse menu, great ambiance, and the folks running it, we met Mike and Chris, were so sweet and lovely to talk to. They definitely put a lot of care into the food they are putting out. We got the H&S bibb salad, which was fresh, with fun pops of flavor and crunch, and not overly dressed, which I really appreciate. We then split a bowl of t seafood gumbo, which was incredible. I love a seafood forward stock for gumbo and this one had a great minerality that Mike told us came from the oyster brine he'd saved from the fresh oysters that eventually went into the gumbo. The oysters were perfectly cooked and there were ample crawfish tails and large shrimp to make this a hearty dish. We also got the crawfish spaghetti special, which was loaded up with crawfish tails, and also slices of garlic, onion, and calabrian chili oil which gave a nice spice without making the dish heavy. The drinks were fun too, get the cuba libre daiquiri if you like rum drinks! They have half priced drinks during happy hour, which goes til 6 so you can actually make it after work. We will definitely be back!!
