Cafe Navarre never disappoints! My friends and I had our 7 year brunch anniversary at the same spot we started. We were excited to try the frozen flight and sample the four frozen drinks served here. Our favorites were the Watermelon froze and the Irish Coffee. We started with gravy fries which were cheesy and smothered in roast beef debris. Yummy! We also shared some crispy bacon, chocolate chip pancakes and cheesy grits. All were delicious. And of course we had the one hour bottomless mimosas with our choice of juice which makes them even better. A++++++ for the frozen Irish coffee! Service was super friendly & attentive. The food is absolutely amazing. The debris grits are lighter than fries while adding that rich & creamy texture from the grits. 100% the winner of all the food (but still 2nd place to the frozen Irish coffee). The avocado toast came with perfect sunny-side-up eggs, sriracha, tomatoes & onions. It was nice, light addition to the grits. The Navarre Special is a really good choice, too. They offered to split and grill the biscuit. DO THAT! Anyway, it's a little bit of everything scrambled together and so worth it. Walked over from Delgado with a few classmates for lunch. It was a little busy, but we were able to quickly find a table outside. The menu offered an assortment of sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads, sides, and even included a few items for the pups! Our waiter was friendly and the food came out quick. Getting here around noon on. Saturday n it was packed. It's open seating but I think you still need to check in with someone inside, especially if you have a bigger group. We sat outside to enjoy the nice weather and I noticed they do have little roll-up (or down) clear plastic incase the weather gets funky. The service was great, no complaints but were easy customers so it was all pretty straightforward. We both got omelettes and they were really good. I went with the southwest omelette which hit the spot. The eggs were cooked just right and they're sizable. I'm always happy when a place knows how to do grits and Navarre's were on point. Not too soupy or lumpy- the perfect consistency. You may need to add a little salt and pepper to it but I prefer to season my own grits anyway. They also do bottomless mimosas for $20 which is a pretty damn good deal. I'm definitely re-listing this place high up on my breakfast/brunch list for those nice days biking through city park n need a solid bite to eat. read more

I want to go have brunch with some friends at Cafe Navarre. It was a bustling crowd but we didn't have to wait which was super fun. We sat outside and on this particular day was a little bit chilly but they had set up these really cute big heaters. They are extremely dog friendly. We saw several dogs and my friends brought their dogs. Everyone who was there seemed to have a good time and seem to be enjoying their food. I felt like the portion sizes were a little bit small, but I also was super hungry and the food was super good so that's probably more of a reflection of the quality than the quantity lol read more

I've been wanting to dine at Cafe Navarre for a really long time and finally got the chance on a weekday morning. It's street parking only and I found a park easily. I imagine it would have been more of a challenge on the weekend. When we entered, we were able to sit wherever we wanted and chose a table in the elevated section of the restaurant. The biscuit was sliced open, buttered, grilled and most importantly, it was on point! I wasn't a fan of the grits but the other guest loved them. Chicken pesto panini was great for a light lunch of a hot summer day. I switched out the kettle chips for a side Caesar salad and it paired very well with the sandwich. The Caesar dressing on the salad and the pesto on the sandwich were both very yummy. We sat outside and it was nice with fans blowing on us and music playing as well as many shaded tables and chairs. As per the Cafe Navarre website, after Hurricane Katrina, "Café Navarre opened for lunch in September of 2007, serving Panini's, Cuban sandwiches, and salads, and featuring Po Boys such as slow cooked Debris roast beef, and BBQ shrimp, house made from family recipes. Breakfast was added in December of 2008, featuring Benedict's and omelettes. A covered patio for outdoor dining was added in November of 2009, a liquor license in December 2010, and thin crust Artisan style Pizza in October of 2011". Cafe Navarre is within walking distance to my house; therefore, it's always a diner consideration when we do not cook. There's always something on the menu, especially since they have four menus, one for brunch, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I've had lots of items on the menu, and some of my favorites are, the eggs benedict, the Mediterranean omelette, the breakfast bowl, the Cobb salad, the Cuban po-boy, the roast beef po-boy, the Dirty Bird po-boy and last but not least, their pizzas. As stated by Yelper Shannon S., I also do not like that they only serve their pizza at night, as I sometimes crave it at lunch. Conversely, some of their other delicious menu items are NOT offered at night. If you like to imbibe a little, and most of us do from time to time, they have "Cocktails on the Patio", where you can get frozen drinks, cocktails, lots of wines, and beer. I had lunch at Café Navarre with my mom today and we really enjoyed our visit. It didn't hurt that the weather was absolutely gorgeous and there was plenty of outside seating. We went in and ordered, then found a seat on the front patio. Within minutes our Cuban sandwich and fries were ready and delivered to our table. The Cuban was everything I had hoped it would be. Tasty, tender pork, lean sliced ham, gooey Swiss cheese, tangy pickles and mustard on really delicious, crusty pressed French bread. What a hit! The fries were OK. Maybe some seasoning, or a thicker sliced potato would be nice. They were just lacking something. Our server was wonderful. She came out to check on us periodically and brought us fresh waters when we were running low. This is a casual spot that's perfect for dressed down, lazy days. It's also a great place for a work lunch. And I've also been here for dinner with good sized groups. It's all been good, and I've been impressed with the food and service on every visit. Made it to Cafe Navarre just in time for a round of drinks during happy hour. One drink turned into two which turned into an appetizer and a pizza. We started with the Spinach & Artichoke dip. Since there isn't a picture you can just imagine how good it was. We dove in head first and it was gone before we even thought of capturing it for posterity. The main course was the Combo pizza. They were very accommodating with our request to substitute the meat for non-meat options. No extra charges. This is a good pizza. The staff are very friendly. The patio is a great place to enjoy a drink and some good food, especially these days when eating inside can be anxiety inducing. I came for brunch with a friend and we ordered the Oyster Benedict (a special), blueberry pancake, Navarre scramble, and a baileys coffee. The Oyster Benedict was a home run and we loved the home fries. The blueberry pancake was just an average pancake but had FRESH blueberries in it, which made it so much better! One of my pet peeves is when restaurants put frozen blueberries in pancakes because they don't taste fresh and have no flavor. I love small cafés. Normally, they are an intimate neighborhood eatery, and have great classic dishes. For lunch, I went to @cafenavarre_nola located not too far from City Park or Delgado. The restaurant was not hard at all to find and had a great ambiance. With indoor and outdoor seating, it's perfect to grab a bite right after class or a walk in the park. Sarah was a perfect and attentive waitress and pretty speedy. As far as cocktails, they have seasonal frozen beverages so I tried one. I believe it was called Irish coffee . I enjoyed it a lot. It was creamy, flavorful and smooth. For lunch, I ate a chicken pesto panini with sweet potato fries . I love sweet potato fries especially when they are the right size and texture, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and these were just that. My panini was certainly bomb, piled high with grilled chicken , parmesan, mozzarella, red onion , tomato , caesar and pesto. It was absolutely delicious. My overall rating: 4 star read more
