The weather was absolutely gorgeous today, so we sat outside and enjoyed a small breakfast on the patio. Honestly, I think this was a much better option as I feel like the inside was quite noisy due to the music and conversation that crowds you! We enjoyed the French toast, Classic breakfast and Abelskivers! The drinks were both amazing and my favorite item was probably the French toast! Not sure if I would recommend the Abelskivers because I felt like they weren't pretty dry without any drippings on them. Looking forward to going again though!

Hands down my favorite breakfast spot on the Westbank. Each time I visit Toast Gretna, I am greeted and seated immediately despite the crowd. The servers are always pleasant and attentive. Now the food, it is delicious. This time I ordered the fish and grits, those are the best grits in town. The eggs are perfection. I can go on and on just go to this cute and quaint spot and check for yourself.

My cousin recommended this place for breakfast. I had chicken and waffles and my husband had the avocado toast. My chicken was cooked to perfection. Juicy and tender full of flavor and seasoned to perfection. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. The restaurant was welcoming and the music was nice to enjoy while having brunch. Next time I will try the fish and grits because I saw how good it looked and smelled as the plate passed our table. My latte was yummy also.

Y'all... I had this sandwich yesterday and I'm still thinking about it. Toast passed in every way. It was packed for Saturday brunch, but we only waited about 15 minutes. While we waited, there was plenty of space to hang out at the backyard bar and sip tasty coffee (or a morning cocktail if that's your vibe). Lots of seating, quick service, large kids menu, delicious specials. But this sandwich, y'all -- hands down the best fried chicken I've ever had. It was cooked to perfection, with a crunch on the outside and melting in my mouth on the inside. I don't remember the sauce, but it was on fresh brioche with bacon and some veggies. Had a side of your choice (I already finished before taking a pic .) My latte was excellent. The service was so sweet -- shoutout to Ionna for taking care of us and recommending the special. I wasn't even that hungry...but took one bite and devoured the whole thing. I couldn't get a pic of my neice's ratatouille omelette before she tore in, as well as my sisters food which was gone before you know it. Anywayzzz, we'll definitely be back. There's so much space out back, with a play set for kids. I honestly think I'm having my birthday brunch there when it cools off in the fall. Inside, it's a fun mix of southern murals and modern decor, but they kept the old-school southern restaurant feel with the bar and layout. Loved everything about it!

This place is really a hidden gem I knew nothing about!!!! The outside does nothing for what you will walk into. Friendly face and the warmest welcome very attentive waitress food was amazing I'd definitely recommend this place over and over again. There's also a area outside for kids to play and be comfortable

Get there early and get your place in line for the cute little restaurant. Great food and good service. Food came hot and fresh and was beautifully plated! Don't miss this Gretna gem!

I visited Toast a few months ago to meet up with a friend. We arrived maybe an hour before closing, so things were winding down. I ordered the catfish and grits while my friend had the French toast. Our food came out quickly and was pretty tasty. However, the silverware on the table wasn't clean and my plate was also a little dingy looking. This raised some concerns about the overall cleanliness of the restaurant.

Thanks for making my dad birthday breakfast special. We were seated quickly. Food came out in a timely manner. My crawfish toast and mimosas were excellent. We frequent this location, due to the consistency in service and food. It's always loud inside due to the size of the building.

My Husband and I ate Breakfast here. The Hostess was very inviting. Our Server Alyanna was great. The food was succulent. The ambiance was nice .

I ordered the crawfish omelet with a side of avocado and ratatouille, and let me tell you, my plate was completely empty by the time I was done. The omelet was flavorful and perfectly cooked, the crawfish was seasoned just right, and the sides complemented everything so well. Fresh, filling, and absolutely delicious. I'd definitely come back just for this dish alone.

This was our 3rd visit before actually being seated. The first two visits had wait times over an hour each visit so we went elsewhere locally. On this visit, we were seated instantly at the bar due to limited seating available in the dining room. The bar service was great, quick, and easy! I ordered the chicken and waffles which was made to order and provided that perfect balance of salt and sweet. The cayenne butter added a nice touch. Coffee was refilled without asking. I would recommend getting reservations even for two if you want to dine in. Once seated, you will enjoy a good meal. Dine local! Enjoy.

    Hair

Dined here with party of 8 for bday brunch. We had 2 separate entrees with hair on it. Server was kind but I felt dismissed when we brought it up. If you know the oyster toast entree, it is usually layered, we didn't see the hair till we ate down to the plate. Then, we ordered classic breakfast and sausage; there was a thick hair with attached follicle. See picture. We paid for the bill in entirety with automatic 20% service fee. Needless to say, I will not return or recommend my family or friends here. I understand accidents happen but 2 different entrees with hair in... it's a matter of hygiene.

The food here is great every single time. Even though it's served from hot tables, everything is super fresh because they are busting out plates left and right. The line moves really quickly and everyone working there is very nice. I've tried something different every visit. From the variations of the Baby Back to the Biscuit Boat and the Back in Town Burrito, it's all been delicious. Also, the potatoes are so good! If you don't know already, this is usually the breakfast location for Chicken's Kitchen, just up the street. They're just consolidated for Saturdays. The breakfast here is amazing, especially if you can get there on a Friday for the City Gravy. It's to die for. All of the breakfast options I've had here are amazing (shrimp allergy, so I don't know about the biscuit boat, but I bet it's amazing), and the maple biscuit is fantastic. I went here today for lunch. Unfortunately I missed the fried ribs by about five minutes so I got the fried chicken instead and it did not disappoint. Probably the biggest chicken breast I've ever seen, seasoned and cooked to absolute perfect. I had a large side of dirty rice, which was amazing (I'm running out of adjectives), and then a double order for two small sides of the Five Star Mac and Cheese (there's an upcharge to do that but it's worth it, although the other sides are great too). It was so much food I had to save part of the sides! We also got the pepper balls (looked great but the shrimp allergy) and Brussels sprouts. Sorry this is a lot, but you also need to know that Chef Marlon is a genuinely amazing human being. He does a lot for the community, and he does an initiative called Feed Them Kids, where he gave free meals to kids this summer, and even extended that. So you're not just getting one of the best meals of your life, you're also helping out!!!

Like where have I been?! We are forever grateful for that alone. As someone who already loves Vietnamese culture through food here in New Orleans, this place just hits. Vietnamese coffee is a staple for me--not even for energy, but for the flavor. If you know, you know... that bold, strong, chicory-meets-condensed-milk moment. It's rich, it's cultural, it's intentional. And when you start adding things like pandan cold foam? Simple, but it speaks volumes about the influence and beauty of the Vietnamese community here. I respect it, deeply. Now let's talk about that Croffle... a croissant-waffle situation. I went with the Chantilly and berries because... you already know, I'm gonna choose what feels like home every time. The cream was smooth, the fruit was fresh, everything worked. My only thing--personally--it was a little heavy on the almonds for me. Still good, just my preference. We also had The American--eggs, bacon, French ham, hand-cut fries, garlic aioli, and a baguette. I shared it with my son and made my own little sandwich moment with it. Used the aioli as a base, layered the eggs, bacon, and ham... and I feel like that's exactly what it was meant for. Solid, simple, and filling. I've tried a few other things too like the bánh mì and donuts. The bánh mì was good, donuts were okay... not my go-to for that. But that frozen cocktail? Listen... it was TOO good. Took it to a festival with me and between that drink and that sun, I slept the whole festival away lol. Overall, I'll definitely be back. I still want to try more from the kitchen--especially that chicken everybody keeps talking about. This is a great spot for early weekend brunch, late evening studying, or weekday coffee runs. Not too small, not too big. Beautiful lighting. A really good addition to Gretna.

We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and drinks at Luzianne. Minor things noted, mainly on the cook of the eggs, but nothing awful. It his the spot and checked the boxes!
