Neither me nor my friend ever had steak and eggs before so we had no idea what the best cooking format for the eggs would be, but Talia gave us her preferred cooking suggestion and it was perfect. This was the best breakfast/brunch spot we had while visiting NOLA! We arrived around 11am, and there was a line of people waiting for a table. We were told it would be about a 30-minute wait, so we added our name to the waitlist. We were called to our table after only 20 minutes, which was great. We ordered the Crab Catch Omelet and the Seriously Southern. Both dishes were absolutely amazing. The omelet was so creamy and flavorful, and the bacon on the Seriously Southern was just... wow! Never had anything like it. We were sad when our plates were empty! :) I also ordered a cappuccino, which was surprisingly really good coffee. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a great amount of seating, plus a nice bar area. Our server was super friendly and checked on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. Cafe Fleur-de-lis is a cute breakfast or brunch spot! They have lots of seafood and New Orleans flavors to choose from. I went with the seafood benedict, which is made with a crab-and-crawfish cake. The eggs were perfectly poached, and the biscuits were amazing. (Made me think the B's & G's would have been a good choice!) I would have preferred a little more hollandaise sauce--the crab cake and biscuits needed a little more wet. The seafood cake flavor did come through strong so no regrets in ordering it! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The service was a little slow--we waited a bit before our waitress came over. This restaurant seems like a good fit for an unhurried meal. read more

First and foremost you sat someone inside next to us with a non service with plenty of outside seating. Of course first thing he does is shake and have drool and hair flying all over the place. We asked to be move so we grabbed our waters and silverware and my cold brew cold was left on the table was thrown away. Once the food came the plates were hot but the banana pecan pancakes were cold and had no flavor. Grits were cold but the fish was hot. Never asked if the food was good my wife had the crab and shrimp omelette that she only had two bites from and it was taken away never asked what was wrong or if she didn't like it. My meal came with a shot of bourbon but i was given peach crown which is Canadian whiskey and not bourbon. I kept asking the server what kind she never found out after me asking her several times but i eventually got the answer from someone else. What a disappointment! read more

Do not eat here. The menu looks amazing. The food is terrible. We ordered the Avacodo Omelette. It came with no avacado... The spinach was all lumped together and was covered with canola oil. It did come with toast... chewy toast with no butter or jam. We ordered the Eggs Benedict. The biscuits were either day-old or frozen. They were hard and nasty. The pepperoni-sized slice of "ham" was rubbery. Both meals were served on over-sized plates with no garnish. This presented as some truck-stop diner rather than a French cafe. We raised these concerns. The server took our plates--both with most of the awful dishes still intact--and returned with a bill showing a $4.00 discount, dropping it off and walking away. We had to argue with the manager for an appropriate discount...and we hadn't even eaten the meals. Yeah, don't eat here. read more

Stopped by on a Thursday morning for brunch. From what is can see, this is a new location of the business that's on Chartres. I'm not sure if they were shortstaffed, but the waiter seemed very rushed. He didn't say much came by and just put glasses of water down at our table and asked if we wanted any coffee drinks. When he came back to place our order is when I gave him the drink orders for everyone who wanted soft drinks. He returned and told me they were out of Dr Pepper, which is with three of the four of us at the table wanted. He went through and we made our alternative selections. Then came time to place our order. One wanted strawberry pancakes. They were out of strawberries. I had my heart set on the Cochon de Lait Benedict. They were out of that as well. We ultimately settled on chocolate chip pancakes, shrimp, and grits, and my husband got the crab catch omelette. Overall, we were very pleased with our selections, even if we were a little disappointed in the lack of availability of other things. Management was rude to start off. We were with a large group so they couldn't seat us together. We understood but when the second group showed up just to ask about their table the manager told us "don't block the doorway, only one person from the party can be in here and the rest of them could wait outside." Understandable but could be less assertive. When we were finally called in the table for five only could seat four and they would not allow us to have another chair but suggested a high chair for the toddler. That chair took up just as much room. We were seated then they had us move to another table. We ordered and iced coffee with cream. The cream didn't arrive until we were ready to leave. They kept leaving items off our plates so we had to ask for them. Had to even ask for silverware. The food was pretty good except for the plain eggs...tasted like plastic. read more

Enjoyed breakfast here twice! If you like poached eggs this is the place for benedicts. Avoid the lines, get in there early. This is a busy spot, I don't know how the kitchen can prepare all the food customers' order. The grits are the best I've eaten. Servers maintain their cool and grace throughout the hectic morning. This is a small restaurant around the corner and down the street from Canal Street. Get off that big old beaten path of Canal Street and look for restaurants like this one for a much better experience in the tourist section of New Orleans. read more

I left town to return home that same day. One phone call with the manager, Charles, and they were shipped to me. He refused to let me pay them for the shipping.
