We'd visited years ago and loved it, so it was our very first stop this time around for breakfast/brunch and it didn't disappoint. The bourbon and pancakes breakfast is an absolute must-order. Love the overall aesthetic of the two-story restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating (upstairs on the terrace). I fell into this spot after getting rejected at Brennan's as a potential walk in. Cafe Fleur De Lis was near closing time, but the staff still gave exceptional service. One of the servers overheard me mention a street vendor i wan ted to grab something from and actually saw the vendor while i was eating and i was able to go grab few things. I sincerely appreciate him. The food was very average breakfast food to be honest. My shrimp and grits weren't my favorite. I dislike cheesy grits and they add sour cream and cheese. I stopped by Cafe Fleur De Lis on my last morning in NOLA. I'm really glad I did! There is a large bar with open seating so it's perfect if you don't have a reservation. I had a cappuccino and a crab cake eggs Benedict with grits. The crab cakes were flaky and crispy. The eggs were poached to perfection. The bar tender was cordial and chatting with guests while he made drinks and coffees. On the Friday before Mardi Gras, my lifelong friend and I have a tradition of going to breakfast before all of the shenanigans and walking parades kick off in the FQ. Our goal every year is to find somewhere new, and Cafe FDL definitely fit the bill this year. There is quaint seating on the first and second floor, and it feels like there's not going to be enough room, but the wait isn't bad. We stopped by Fleur De Lis for brunch, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! The food was absolutely delicious, and everything came out just right. I had a slow cooked beef sandwich and my wife had a Po boy that she thought was very delicious The highlight of our visit was the bartender. She was incredibly friendly, funny, and made us feel so welcome. She checked on us throughout our meal to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it, and she even brought us a complimentary sample of a dish the chef had prepared, which was a really thoughtful touch. I come to New Orleans twice a year, but this is my first time trying Cafe Fleur De Lis. Let me tell you food was amazing! I got the boudin omelette, hashbrowns and toast. I unfortunately didn't take a picture. But that's not would stood out. Me and my bros sat at the bar. The waiter at the bar was absolutely amazing. Super cute place and they have an option to sit outside on the upstairs patio with a view of the French quarter. It was too hot for that but would definitely be cool on a day with nicer weather. I had the breakfast plate that came with pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, and hash browns. It was a huge amount of food but perfect because I was starving. I was staying at a hotel nearby for a conference, and the front desk suggested checking out Cafe Fleur De Lis for breakfast! I went there 3 times while I was in NOLA! IT was great and decently priced. A chai latte and a breakfast sandwich cost me about $18. I was able to order online and set a pick-up time, which was great because most mornings I would swing by, grab my food, and run over to attend the conference. I got the Fleur de lis omelette, which is an omelette with red peppers, onions, and crawfish etouffee. I also added a side of cheesy grits, because I was told you shouldn't miss it here! My husband got the Creole Country breakfast, which comes with boudin sausage, two eggs, grits, and a biscuit. The Fleur de lis omelette was delectable. The crawfish etouffee on top of an omelette really pushed it to the next level. The portions are notably large. The side of grits, which looks kind of small, is actually so rich and heavy and creamy that it's all you really need (and it was really, really good). My husband also enjoyed his Creole Country breakfast. I love how many sides it comes with, and though the menu states two eggs, it was such a large portion of scrambled eggs that we really thought it must be about 4 eggs' worth. Boudin was not really my thing (it was my first time having it) as it has a mushy texture. I thought the breakfast here was so good and the interior is very cute. Service was friendly as well. As a local, this has been my favorite French Quarter breakfast spot for a while now - they expanded and now have two locations. I prefer the Camp St location as it feels more bright and spacious. If Chartres is busy I can assure you it is just a quick walk to the other location to check on the wait time - which is usually much less than the French Quarter. There are just enough options on the menu to offer something familiar and options to try something more Southern - like a Boudin Omelette or my favorite, the Fleur De Lis Omelette, topped with Crawfish Etouffee. I always enjoy when an omelette is cooked thoroughly (no runny eggs); every omelette I've had here has been cooked very well. I've also had the Crab Catch Omelette on two occasions ; for me the peppers and onions overpower the omelette a You really can't go wrong with the menu; all of the visitors that I've taken here have thoroughly enjoyed it. I would say that the coffee is New Orleans traditional and that is often too strong for me. That's just a preference but it is also nice to give it a try. We ordered 2 muffalettas (they were pretty big, we should have shared one) they're served warm here and have an aioli on them. I've had better, the meats were dried out and over heated (see photo). My boyfriend got a boudin omelet made into a poboy. He liked it. We also ordered biscuits and gravy and they were good, nothing specia though. Washing it down with a side of cold brew, it was a satisfying meal that was a great to conclude our most recent stay in the French Quarter. We didn't have that much of a wait on a Saturday morning. They said 20 minutes at the front desk as you come in; it ended up being about 15 and change. The server was expedient with our orders and food. The ambiance was very warm and inviting without feeling overcrowded and touristy. You have your options of either table seating or at the bar counter depending on how many are in your party (or just yourself). I ordered a basic breakfast plate, which included grits, but as soon as I had my first bite of the grits, I immediately wished I ordered the shrimp and grits instead. The grits, creamy and delicious. The biscuit was fresh, fluffy and buttery - the perfect southern biscuit. The whole plate was just the right amount.
