I have been craving them grits from here since I've left. Yes that's how I'm starting the review lol. Bearcat is a popular brunch spot in Nola rightfully, so you will wait but in my opinion it'll be worth it. We got the lobster couyon and steak and eggs special. My steak was perfectly cooked and my mom really enjoyed the lobster. Everyone raves about the pancakes but I didn't really see the rave. Maybe because I make them similar at home. Overall I can't wait til my next visit.
We came by to pick up some pastries for the road home. We had pork roll ham and cheese, almond bear, claw, and s'mores croissant. They were really good and my favorite was actually the s'mores croissant. It took us a day or two to finish them all because we were splitting them between us. The shop became extremely busy after we came in and rainclouds were starting. The staff were nice. If you would like to purchase stickers, make sure to ask them about that. The stickers were hidden behind the counter. The place was small, but very cute.
The service, food and environment was very good. I ordered the cat daddy with the hot daddy substitute (which is just hot chicken). This meal was absolutely amazing. 10/10 for me and I would definitely come back to try other menu items.
If you have one brunch place in New Orleans PLEASE let it be this place. This is hand down the best brunch I've ever had. The service was immaculate, the food was fresh as could be and you could tell the ingredients were the highest of quality. And don't get me started on the blueberry lemonade. They make all juices in house and the list was quite long! It comes in a glass obtain we that you can take to go and if you've ever had Cava's blueberry lavender drink this will blow that out of the water! Can't wait to come back and recommend to everyone!
BearCat CBD: This place has everything ! Bears, Cats, three letters- CBD. Kidding but what it does have is awesome merch and great food and great service. I straight up bought a shirt which I never do because I had such a great time here. The food as fantastic. I enjoyed an app and a main dish. The tea went well to open the appetite and I'm a fan of coffee after a meal. The ingredients tasted fresh and order was cooked to specification. I loved it here and can't wait to come back. Note: there was a wait, this is true and a point of contention- but it's to be expected with quality food and amazing service. I'd advise coming with patience and hunger.
Definitely coming back for a full brunch! Stopped in on my way to the airport for a quick bite "to go"! And ended up smashing my Biscuit Sandwich before I left. The Bison Sausage is gooddddddd! 5/5. Well seasoned. The biscuit has a perfect flakiness, slight sweet. But great! Grabbed an Irish Coffee on the way out which was good as well. Bartenders were great! Cute spot!
I rate this place a 10/10. The food was amazing as always! The service was good too, which I was surprised bc of how busy it was. Our waiter was so nice! I got a strawberry lemon drop and it was very good. My friend ordered a cold brew coffee not pictured and she said it was good as well. I then ordered the cat daddy and it was very good I also ordered a side of potatoes and a pancake which was totally worth it. I shared the pancakes with my friend and she enjoyed it as well. I also got the strawberry lemonade (not pictured) it was good too! This is my 2nd time here and the ambiance and everything is always so nice! I will definitely be back!
Absolutely delicious - highly recommend for breakfast. Lattes are delicious and so are their juices. Pancakes are OKAY. Service was mostly great and wait was quick! Great location as well :)
Amazing food, seriously. We pushed back our departure time from New Orleans to try this brunch after reading about it through reddit sub posts. The potatoes were amazing, very crispy and perfectly seasoned. The mushroom eggs were delicious. The mocha latte was also great, and did not have even the slightest bitter taste. Just note the tip is already included in the tab, so you cannot adjust regardless as it is a set amount. However, we appreciated that it was circled twice so we were aware once we received the bill.
I had a great experience at bearcat! The food was really great, and the ambiance was nice. I got the couyon daddy (hot) and it was pretty delicious. I thought the flavor was really great, it had nice spice without being too much. The biscuit was nice and fluffy, the fried chicken was really delicious. I loved how crispy the chicken was, even with the gravy. It was a lot of food too. The blueberry pancakes were the star of the show. I don't know what they do to make their pancakes so delicious, but it works. The pancakes had a nice crisp bite & were somehow still fluffy and light inside. The flavor was really great, and the blueberries paired really well with the slightly salty/buttery pancakes. Service here was good. It took a little bit to get our food & but considering how packed the restaurant was I think it was fine. It was a little pricy too, but not ridiculous I stopped in on a Friday around 11:00 - it was pretty packed. We had about a 45 min wait, so decided to walk around the warehouse district while we waited. There's no dedicated parking lot, so you'll have to streetpark somewhere and walk over or use the garage across the street. Overall I'd come here again, and if the weather was nice I'd definitely sit in the courtyard outside
The best things on the menu are the homemade drinks. The orange juice and Fuji apple oolong had a smooth balance (perfect amount if sweetness) and you can taste how fresh it is. Crab omelet was good, with the occasional soft shell. It was under seasoned presumably to eat with the potatoes, but the potatoes were too salty and I hardly touched them. My friend's Lobster Daddy looked impressive and tasted fine. The biscuit is smothered by the gravy and lobster, so it gets soggy quickly! There's a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, but this place is always busy with a waitlist. The seating outdoors is lovely, weather permitting.
Service was excellent on time and attentive Nice environment Food was overall very good Large selection to choose from
Doesn't miss! Never misses. I'll be back. The oysters were cooked to perfection, the grits nice and creamy, and the pancakes were so fluffy. Service 9/10 Ambiance 9/10 I just wish they had a dinner menu or had like a late night menu.

Quite delicious and some interesting options like bison sausage and sion bacon And then the boozy coffee is certainly a thumbs up! read more
Orange juice (10/10): fresh squeezed orange juice is so, so good. Can't really get better than this. Fuji apple oolong (9.5/10): awesome drink. Flavors were delicately balanced, and it was crisp and refreshing Smoked salmon toast (9/10): awesome take on Lox. They really executed it well. Crawfish biscuit (7/10): biscuits were good, but not the absolute best I've had. The gravy was slightly too heavy/salty. Crawfish were pretty good. read more

This is my first taste of new Orleans food upon landing, based on my Uber drivers recommendation. It was delicious! We dined at the bar; the bartenders were super friendly. -Scallop and Grits: YES!!! You must get this! The grits are so creamy, buttery and cheesy. It's so much better with scallops as opposed to shrimp. The gravy was a little salty, but the toast helps mellow it out. -Biscuit with Crawfish Gravy: We ordered this à la carte. I loved this gravy more than the gravy in the other dish. Really good. 20% gratuity is automatically added to all checks for parties of 2 or greater. There's also a 3% employee health surcharge added as well. Save yourself time by adding yourself to the Yelp waitlist via the app (or you can do it in person). We arrived around noon on a Saturday and had a 30-40 minute wait time. read more
Some of the best bacon and potatoes I've ever had in my life! Sheehan they do not skimp on the seasoning at all! I wasn't sure what to expect since we did pop in for some coffee and decided to eat while we were there. Offer was a 10/10 I chugged that down in 5 seconds and I'm normally a slow sipper. But the real star was the food. Everything was seasoned and came out in a timely manner. Staff were all so nice and I appreciated the cool air inside! read more
Be WARNED! Price are outrageous and they add 20% gratuity when there are 2 or more people regardless of service quality. Also add 3% for employee healthcare. WHAT!!!!! We will never come back here again. This extra charging is getting out of control. Nice outside sitting. Service was not good but they don't care because they are getting their 20%. Sat on the Patio on a beautiful morning. Looks like there is good parking. Crab nacho dip was excellent. Coffee is Jaguar from Miami, that's a plus. Food was outstanding. Had a breakfast burrito, SW salad and creamy cheese grits. If the were to take care of the service and extra charges they'd have 5 out of 5 stars. People need to be held accountable for bad pricing decisions. read more

Food: 9/10 - I ordered a very basic breakfast... The Club Bowl and a Rose Water Latte (hot). The eggs were a bit runny, but the option was safe. The latte was AMAZING! Service: 9/10 - Our server was was extremely nice and very attentive to our party of 8 Ambiance: 10/10 - The wait for a party of 8 on a weekday around 10am, was about 30 mins. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, which is very nice! The music being played on the inside, was definitely a vibe! I highly recommend this place for breakfast if you're looking for something more "American breakfast" options in New Orleans. read more
Exceptional meal at Bearcat. I have been to New Orleans a few times but this was my first time at Bearcat. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. I chose the cat daddy (made it hot) and it was amazing. Finished my plate with no crumbs. I went on a Tuesday morning shortly after they opened and there were quite a few tables already taken. I took a star off for service. The service was pretty mediocre. There was no one at the hostess table so I checked in via the IPad in front...then a hostess came 10 minutes later and sat people who arrived after me. It was confusing. My waitress was okay as well. Service in New Orleans is usually pretty friendly and she was not. More seemed she just wanted tables to get in and get out. She brought my check before I was even done eating. It was a bit odd because I didn't ask for my check and there were tons of tables still open. Overall food is amazing, service could be improved but I would eat here again. read more

Waited over an hour on a Friday but that but was to be expected and definitely worth the wait. I do wish they took reservations. They were busy and our server was okay. She didn't do anything that stood out. Im personally not a fan of the paper menus because there were 3 different pieces of paper to look at which annoyed me. They should consider QR code menus. The ambiance is very chill. Great R&B music playing, not too bright lighting. Love that they make their juices in house. Will definitely try when I come back! Now for the food!! Note no salt was needed!!! Hot daddy 10/10: I ordered the cat daddy but made it a hot daddy and so glad I did! The flavor here was out of this world!! The biscuit which was buttery and fluffy, paired well with the chicken and crawfish gravy. I do wish there was a little more gravy but overall I was highly satisfied. Side of potatoes 9/10: crispy and flavorful. Bearcat breakfast w/ regular pancake 9.5: food was seasoned well and the bison sausage was delicious. Pancakes were fluffy with crispy edges. The portion sizes were decent too. Rum punch 7/10: small portion but good flavor. Watermelon mimosa 8/10 needed a tad more watermelon flavor but if you like stronger drinks this would be your thing. Blueberry lavender mint lemonade 8/10: mint flavor is slightly strong but overall it was enjoyed. read more
Best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. The rest of the food was also cooked to perfection. Perfectly cooked eggs, delicious bacon, and the pancakes are a must have as well. The pancakes were not dry, super flavorful, and mixed perfectly with their syrup. The staff was nice, and the ambiance is modern. Wait is long, but definitely worth it. If I'm ever back in the area I'm coming here for sure. read more
Absolutely worth the hype! The food is delicious! We went early on a Sunday so there was no wait, but it seems to be a popular spot, so keep that in mind when visiting. We ordered the steak burrito, pancakes, cat daddy, potatoes, and a few of the bottled drinks. Everything was a win! The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. There is seating upstairs and outside. I would definitely recommend this as a breakfast spot! read more
Love the vibe! The interior feels very at-home and the outdoor seating would be so nice in the summer. We came on a Tuesday and the wait was ~15 minutes. The gravy items and crab dip are all so rich in flavor but so delicious. Not able to finish it all without feeling kinda guilty lol. The burrito wasn't anything crazy, similar to a regular breakfast burrito you can get at a deli. The ribeye we wanted medium rare and it was rare + not well rested + blood pooling. They reheated but it came back smaller! I was quite bothered by the way they handled it -- the steak came back after all the food was done, and they were already cleaning up the table as we were starting to dig in. I would aim to try more of their seafood / biscuit dishes! read more
Worth the wait!! We waited about 30-40mins and it was absolutely worth the wait. The crab cake and corn ribs were amazing. I loved the crispy edges around the crab cake. I've never had a crab cake like this one...THE BEST! The corn ribs were nice and fresh and flavorful. I had the couyon daddy (I think that's the name). It was a chicken breast fried and dipped in their hot sauce, placed on top of a biscuit and topped with crawfish dip/gravy and a friend egg. It was the best thing I've eaten so far. We also tried a traditional breakfast with bison sausage , eggs and house potatoes and pancakes. The pancakes were the best I've ever had. Somebody's grandma made that recipe and it's delicious !!! Believe all the hype over Bearcat!! read more
We arrived around 8:30am and got right in. It did get busier around 9:30-10 with many people that were waiting. Our server was super nice. And attentive to what we needed! I ordered a latte. My cousin ordered one of their fresh juices which I tried - orange - it was good and didn't taste like a typically orange. We decided to order a few things to share. We got a bearcat breakfast and did bacon and scrambled eggs. I got an egg in a hole for myself and then we got a short stack of pancakes which was 2 large pancakes and a coffee cake. The potatoes in the breakfast were seasoned really well and delicious. I love extra crispy bacon which was how it was cooked. The bread around the egg in a hole was great. The pancakes were a perfect consistency. We probably could've split on because they were larger than I expected! We were so full that we had to take our coffee cake to go. I tried my coffee cake the next day and it was really good!! This place was great! And super fun vibes. read more

Wow, the Scallops and grits were worthy of my final NOLA meal! I was the first one in right at 8am on a Wednesday morning. The staff greeted me with smiles and told me that many people make this restaurant their first or last stop before flying. I specifically wanted scallops, since I hadn't had any during the week. The way the grits and scallops were prepared and tasty were Devine! I didn't think I was going to use the bread, but I use it to clean up all that sauce! I had a Lavender honey latte, which I picked over the rose water latte. The honey was more prevalent than the lavender taste and creamy. I guess the rose water is something I go for next time. There was great customer service. They have outdoor seating. I highly recommend, especially if you are a solo traveler and an early riser! read more

Mmm, such a fantastic breakfast! I had the Bearcat Breakfast, with scrambled eggs, bison sausage, and crispy potatoes. We added a blueberry pancake for a sweet treat with the meal. Everything was delicious. The bison sausage had a little kick but wasn't too spicy to enjoy. The crispy potatoes had great flavor. The blueberry pancake was exactly what I wanted for something sweet to round out the meal. Great atmosphere and service. Would definitely eat here again! read more
Absolute banger of a spot. The only note is the crazy portions for brunch as one meal is definitely a shareable side between two people (considering how hearty it is). The couyon daddy was phenomenal and definitely something I would get again. The roasted potatoes were also delicious and worth getting. The music playing and interior were very vibey and I can't wait until I'm back in Nola for seconds! read more

The food was just OK, service was OK but here's what got me. For some breakfast food we paid basically $32.50 for some breakfast food. I am not sure about all these reviews giving it five stars but you can all miss me with that. Then here's the kicker. They charged me 20% gratuity no matter what and then look at the receipt. They charged me $1.47 for an employee care fund. I want all of you guys that is reading this to help me. What in the heck is an employee care fund? I can sure as heck tell you one thing. We will not be back. What you're not gonna do is charge me 20% gratuity and pay for your employees benefits with an employee emergency fund. That hustle is strictly on management. Are you kidding me so for all you guys who are given them five star reviews. I can see why Keith Lee didn't even drive their way. And judging from how far we drove. We will not be driving their way ever again! Look at the receipt! From experience in management you will not be able to sustain this hustle on your customers long term! I would rather contribute to your go fund me page than giving you free money for an employee care fund without any prior warnings. read more

I was in New Orleans for a teacher's conference. I needed some amazing coffee before each session. I was so glad this place was in walking distance from my hotel. When I tell you they saw me every day of the conference! The food was amazing, the homemade sausages were delicious! My eggs were cooked to perfection, yes you can mess up scrambled eggs. The croissant was HUGE! Took me two days to eat it all. The inside was cozy, I ate inside both times I went. That cappuccino WAS THE BEST THING!!! The staff was helpful even suggested adding maple syrup, who've changed the way I drink my coffee now! read more

Came for brunch and genuinely loved the food. The chai latte was excellent. I don't even like foam, but this one was rich and somehow worked, plus the mug was super cute. My guy loved his Bloody Mary. Both the Cajun crawfish gravy biscuit and the smoked salmon avocado toast were standouts. The avo toast was perfect, esp with the egg in the hole, just slightly heavy on the dill. The crawfish biscuit was rich and comforting. Definitely add eggs, it takes it to the next level. Service was fine, nothing special. The only real issue was how cold it was inside. It was freezing enough that we moved outside, and we weren't the only ones. Great food, great drinks, cool spot. Just turn the air down. read more

Went for a solo brunch while in NOLA. I was Innes seated at the bar. The bartenders were so friendly. I was between two items and they recommended the hot rob and best decision ever!! It wasn't like anything I've tasted before and the flavors worked so well together. I finished my entire plate and that passion fruit tea complemented it so well. I can't wait to come back and try new items. read more
I stopped in for breakfast and had the crab scramble with two pieces of asparagus...breakfast potatoes...and an order of biscuits...the meal was absolutely delicious...so flavorful and perfectly prepared...the atmosphere was warm and inviting...with smooth jazz playing softly in the background...which really set a relaxing tone. My waitress...Jessica...was excellent...she was very attentive...always making sure my water glass stayed full and checking in at the right times without being intrusive...her service made the experience even better. I'll definitely be returning the next time I'm in town...Bearcat Café is a spot I'd highly recommend for both the food and the welcoming vibe. read more
