I really wanted to love Lyons Corner. I'd seen their drinks and food all over TikTok and was excited to finally try what's being called the best espresso martini in New Orleans -- no small claim in a city that takes its cocktails seriously. Unfortunately, we never even got that far. We had a reservation and arrived on time, but ended up standing awkwardly near the entrance for nearly 15-20 minutes. The bartender, who was clearly overwhelmed but kind, kept apologizing and saying someone would be with us shortly. Meanwhile, one staff member came up to the front several times -- but seemed more preoccupied with counting cash and tending to a table of six rather than helping anyone else. The restaurant wasn't even busy at the time. Eventually, a woman (who we assume was a hostess or server?) shouted vaguely in our direction from across the room -- no greeting, no acknowledgment -- just a general statement that may or may not have been for us. By then, we had already made the decision to leave. It's a real shame, because the space is super cute, and the menu looked great. I was genuinely excited to try their cocktails and food, but the disorganized and inattentive service made us feel completely overlooked. Every time I go, I slide into my usual seat at the bar and catch up with my bartender bestie, Tiana. At this point, it's tradition. My order is consistent: - Truffle fries (crispy, perfectly seasoned, no notes) - Espresso martini (honestly one of the best in the city, debate your maw) - Caesar salad (and if Toni is anywhere nearby, I'm adding grilled chicken because I know it's going to be perfect). This place is a coffee shop, bar, + restaurant connected to the Magnolia Hotel. I love the windows here, I find myself enjoying a drink and end up in a whole reverie while staring out of the windows. A nice coffee shop in the morning and a bar with weird vibes due to the music in the evenings. After 4 pm get ready to listen to the kind of music you need to wear two cardigans to enjoy. It gives funeral parlour and needs to be a little more modern. Great staff, tasty drinks and food with a clean contemporary look but in the evening the slow tempo audio may make you drift into an unintended nap only to awake 20 years later a la rip van winkle. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at Lyons Corner and will not be returning. My friends and I had a 10:30am reservation for brunch, excited for a girls' morning out. When we arrived, we stood at the front for over 15 minutes without even being greeted -- despite there only being two other tables occupied. When we finally got someone's attention and mentioned our reservation, we were told they'd seat us shortly. Another 15 minutes passed, and we were still just standing there, waiting. No updates, no menus, no acknowledgment. By 11am -- 30 minutes after our arrival -- we still hadn't been seated, so we asked a server if we'd still be able to order from the breakfast menu. We were told no, because breakfast ends at 11. The irony? We arrived at 10:30, yet weren't seated or even given the opportunity to order what we specifically came for. Frustrated, we decided to leave. When I let a staff member know, she just shrugged -- literally shrugged -- like she couldn't care less. We were genuinely looking forward to trying the food and enjoying a nice brunch, but the complete lack of hospitality and disorganization ruined it. Save your time and go somewhere that actually values its customers. Lyons Corner clearly doesn't. read more

This little spot has a lot of potential as a hidden gem. It offers a very comforting vibe, centered around a beautiful coffee and cocktail bar. The menu is small, but the food was tasty. I started with their take on the old fashioned which was very good. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive throughout my meal. I tried the pimento cheese and chicken skewers as starters which were both good, but nothing to write home about. I did enjoy the homemade saltine crackers for the pimento cheese, however. For the main course, I tried the short rib which was absolutely to die for. Full of flavor and fall off the bone, I highly recommend this dish. Lyons Corner describes itself as having "Fresh roasted coffee, crafted cocktail concoctions and small plate magic". After dining and relaxing there several times over the course of a week, I would have to agree with all of the above. As we found out during our visit, Lyons Corner had just opened in late December 2024. Sitting at the bar and speaking with staff confirmed everyone had extensive food and beverage experience/knowledge. We spent most of our time at the U shaped bar. From there, you have quick access to being able to order food and beverage. Tables and seating areas were also available in the space. The food was excellent. Over the course of several days, we tried the Pimento Cheese with fried crackers as an appetizer, enjoyed the Muffuletta Salad, Mr. T's Double Smash Burger with superb skinny French fries, a Caesar salad in a Parmesan bowl with chicken added, and for breakfast the Lyon's Benedict. Everything was excellent. A happy hour provides reduced price wines and appetizers. I spoke with several of the bartenders who could suggest cocktails based upon the flavor profile you were seeking. Further, because of their excellent coffee, I enjoyed one of the best Espresso Martini's that I have had at any establishment. Having been open for only a few weeks does have its challenges. Some people walked into Lyons Corner without the knowledge that orders are placed at the counter and your food/drink will be brought to your table. As the week went on, I noticed the staff greeting customers and letting them know that all the seating is open, providing customers menus and letting them know to come to the counter once you decided on your food/drink order. Lyons Corner was a cozy and welcoming environment that enhanced our stay at the adjoining Hotel Theo. Thank you for a great experience. We hope to be back soon. read more

It was our worst experience during our NOLA trip. The place is under staff and they truly don't like what they are doing. The place wasn't even busy... There were 3 tables including ours. Twice we got the food got another table. The banana muffin was iced cold. The cappuccinos completely flat they were more like lattes than cappuccinos. We were a party of 8... They didn't even help put tables together. The host was also the table runner with no clue of what he was doing and his thumb sometimes touching the actual food. The waitress was also the cashier and didn't even take the order by table placement but we each had to yell what we wanted while she was standing by the far corner. The poor service is definitely no their fault. Lack of management and training is failing big time! read more
