I have been following Kanya and Mimi around town for the last 5 years. Henry's nails was the first place I ever had my nails done as a little girl. When Henry sold to Kanya I was excited. Kanya does great nails and I always get pedicures from Mimi. I am hard on my nails and whatever she does withstands it all. I have been to many places and hers stand up the best! Well... I've lived in this area for 40+ years and never gave the salon a chance. Unfortunately the other salons I've tried in this area are big disappointments. Called today made an appointment at Henry Nails, they got me in within an hour. No big frills here. Just honest people that do their best work. Music was so calm and relaxing I fell asleep almost. The place was exceptionally clean and Van the lady that did my manicure and pedicure was the best! Henry himself was a pleasure to chat with. If you live nearby I would definitely recommend that you give them a try. They have had their salon for over 20 years. To me that says something about a business. P. man and one woman working at this place. They are closed on Sundays. The man did my nails. Within 2-3 days they looked as depicted in the uploaded photo. I was not able to return to this place before my vacation outside of the country. When I returned from vacation. I returned to show them the pictures of their work. I told them "I don't want any money back I just want you to see the work you did on my nails". They immediate became dismissive, rude and angry. They told me they didn't know who did the work. That it had been too long. Basically, calling me a liar and since I paid in cash and didn't ask for a receipt, I was not able to provide them proof (Lesson 1 don't pay in cash). I replied that out of consideration for them I instead of immediately complaining on Yelp had chosen to wait and to come in to talk with them directly. At this time the woman came charging at me as if she was going planning on physically harm me. She was rapidly storming towards me taking off her mask and waving her hands yelling at me that it's been 3 weeks. She only stopped when I pulled out my cell phone and warned her, I was going to videotape her violent reaction. (Lesson 2 walk in with your video on for your own safety). (Lesson 3 immediately post your complaint on social media). During my initial visit I didn't even complain about the cuts the man left on my cuticle from the drill. Or the way that the order of the colors didn't match what I had requested. Or the way I felt I was being rushed through so they can get to their next customer. I left the place shaken. I only wanted them to see the work they did and so they can learn and do better for the next customer. Maybe they are using old or low-quality products, or they need more employees to provide better customer service and work. I paid them more for a mani and pedi than I should have based on their posted prices. (Lesson 4 don't ever come to this place. The work is poor the quality of products they use is poor or old and if you complain the woman will resort to violence.) P.S. I had to make time on the day of my flight to pay to have these nails removed and redone by a different salon. I just could not go on vacation with the horror nails. read more

Henry was great! I walked in for a gel mani/regular pedi and thankfully they were in between appointments so henry helped me right away. He did an excellent job on my manicure; he really took his time and paid attention to detail. The pedicure was pretty fast and they didn't give me a little fan or anything to dry the polish, so i just sat there for a bit, but it looked nice. Pros: great service, very reasonable prices!! 24 for mani/pedi, 8 just mani, 18 just pedi, 38 gel mani/regular pedi Cons: cash only, very limited gel polish selection, 2 pedi chairs, 2 mani tables, and only 2 people working so i highly recommend you make an appointment! I will be back, but I'll probably take my own polish and make an appointment. read more

So I had an alright experience at this place but I guess it was kind of worth the semi-low price. The place is small and has only 2 manicure and 2 pedicure stations. I got a gel manicure and the service itself was alright, there wasn't much to it other than cleaning and shaping the nails and a little bit of cuticle plucking or pushing. The reason I give it a 3-star review is that usually at the end of a gel manicure, they clean it with alcohol and it's completely dry. But at the end, my nails were sticky as if they hadn't been set properly. They said it was probably the weather (they were super nice people though), but their UV Light machine was pretty bad and not strong enough. It almost seems like its matte. And I don't know how long gel polish takes to dry in the air without a UV Light. You know that feeling when you have to drive carefully with your nails after a regular polish is applied? I feel that now with the gel polish lol But if you want something cheap and easy, this place is great and I don't want anyone to think this small business is bad, because it's not! But if you want a little better quality and service than put in the extra money for somewhere else. p.s. my cat hair is sticking to the nails lol read more

decided to give this place a try due to 4.5 reviews . I scheduled an appointment for pedicure and manicure. During my pedicure I asked for a french tip gel , the women said next time get gel this time to get regular polish (she seem rushed ) I was okay with it since she asked politely. She painted my nails horribly, just rushed to apply the polish oh and the spa did not work she said it was broken (I was charged for it) After pedicure I sat down with Henry who did my "manicure " he did not soak my hands and still managed to charge me as a manicure . I asked him for french tip gel . He did not clean the white tip , he only brushed the tip like a french tip then immediately applied clear polish and still managed to charge me for french tip . I asked him why he did not clean the white polish tip to make it even and he said he did not have a small brush and said next time I will do for you . I told him he could have mention that and I would have agreed to apply regular polish. read more

First of all I don't think it was every sanitary... no plastic covers and no disinfectant anywhere to be seen. The girl did a good job with what she had but there was little or no product used and the polish was literally from a drug store...they only had about 20 colors to chose from and they were all out dated. I walked in wanting a manicure and pedicure but I walked out once my pedicure was finished. And I do not blame the girl doing my nails what do ever I blame the owner for not giving them the right supplies. I will never go back there again and I hope that the girl looks for another job because that place will probably be shut down by the health department. read more

Henry and Van have been open for more than 20 years in this location because they provide consistent top quality service to all of their clients. Pedicure nightmare! Got to this place for a pedicure, massage chair is broken, guy cut my nails completely crooked, did a slap on paint job, then asked me to go over to rite aid to buy something to get cash back to pay him because they only accept check or cash. On the way over to rite aid the sandles he gave me fell apart. I still kindly gave him a $2 tip but will not be returning. My Old salon was impersonal ,would ignore comfort, and would rush to finish my nails and kick me out the door. Henry's nails was a million times better. Horrible service. I was in getting a full set and asked the lady if I can do a pedicure as well she said sure if the appointment doesn't show up. The appointment doesn't show so she starts. The appointment gets there late. So she tells she will be with her after. She tells me well sorry. I'm not going to paint your nails. Finished in ten minutes because I don't have time! I love going to Henry's for nail service. I get a regular manicure and pedicure at a reasonable price, with very friendly service. I enjoy going to a place where the people speak to me instead of each other in a foreign language. They are very friendly and courteous. They never try to "add-on" anything I haven't asked for. The price for the service is the price advertised, not "and $5 for this and $5 for that" as I have experienced in most salons. Henry has been there for many, many years and is great at what he does. His wife does amazing pedicures and she is also very good and friendly. They are not a warehouse for nails, it is just him and his wife, taking care of one customer at a time. This place usually closes at 6 but I called in and the lady who works here was very willing to do my pedicure and take off my remaining gel from my fingernails and was willing to wait for me to come and stay an extra hour. I love this place. Giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because, while it is great for me and the other regular clients, it may not work for everyone. The good - has been around for years and is owned and staffed by a very, very nice couple. They do basic, sanitary nail services for the lowest price I have seen in this area - $22 for a mani/pedi. I can afford to come regularly, and I like them and the service. I would recommend an appointment, but they do take walk ins when they can. They treat my elderly mother like a queen and really are as nice as can be to everyone. However, if you are looking for a fancy spa experience and are willing to pay for it, you will want to go elsewhere. They are tucked into a small inside corner of the Stater Brothers shopping center on Van Buren at Washington. Open 6 days a week at 9 am. Give them a try! read more

If I was able to rate this lower than 1 star I would, coming here was by far the worst nail shop experience I have ever had. I've been my nails done every other week for about 5 years now. I've tried many different nail shops, trying to find the right one. And I finally did, however I needed to get in fast and my regular nail shop had no available appointments. So then I remembered the small nail shop in the corner that's always empty. Now I know why, when I came in I was greeted by Henry the owner a little old man. I asked him could he do a fill and he asked to see my nails first, I showed him and he said it would be 16$ and 7$ extra for gel. So we got started, once he actually starts on my nails he begins to complain and tell me how the last person did a horrible job, and now he has so much more work to do. I asked him if he wanted me to leave and he said no. He complained THE ENTIRE TIME he did my nails and it began to make me uncomfortable. I asked him could he stop with his rude commentary about my nails and that he was making me uncomfortable and this is not how you treat a customer and he sharply told me he's not complaining about me, he's complaining about my nails. I reminded him that this is a business exchange and that he was not doing me a favor by doing my nails and that I was paying him for it. He then said "I'm done, leave". At this point he only had gotten the gel off my acrylic nails. Which took 30 minutes which has never happened before, I began to get up and he grabbed my hand very aggressively and told me I owe him 22 dollars. I told him all he did was take off my gel and I'm not paying him 22 dollars unless he finished. He then offered to finish my nails and in the process cut my finger and squeezed them continuously.
