This Pet store is at great location in Sunset Valley area and a very nice area for shopping & restaurants nearby. I love coming here because there is usually not a wait for the Pet Wash Station and the workers are always friendly! Also good variety of selection of healthy natural dog food &

This is your one-stop-shop for holistic healthy options for your pet. I love the dog wash and the staff is very knowledgeable about all the new products available to keep your pooch in the best possible shape. I found my discussion with the staff very informative on ideas for my dogs nutrition. They also have resources for cats and other animals. They are open now and are respecting covid-19 protocol.

I needed some chicken treats for my dog and found a cool pet store called Healthy Pet. Many dog treats to choose from I love the fact that many treats and dog food I truly enjoy buying and here are healthy without chemicals very natural a plus in my book. The store clerk assisted me with other items as well I found real bone marrow fresh in a freezer a real treats for dogs. Many brand names no harmful ingredients all natural product line of pure nutrition. Really happy with my purschases will shop again no doubt.

Cannot sing enough praises for this establishment AND the staff. I found them by chance on a quest to find my baby boy a birthday cookie. Since then, I've been a regular customer. Although I normally focus on their dog products, they have an impressive stock of cat-essentials as well. They carry a huge variety of dry foods, wet foods, treats, toys, skin and fur care, supplements, etc. You name it? They've got it. I love the staff there; they always welcome my boy with pets and baby-talk even if he's got a criminal record of peeing on a display once. They also have a water bubbler, which is SO perfect for Texas heat. Nothing better than some refreshments for the pups while you shop. Their self-serve bath is beyond convenient and your dog will absolutely leave smelling fresh and lovely. The price is also such a steal. I'll be shopping here for my boy's needs as long as I'm in Austin!

I got my puppy at 8 weeks old and now she is 4 months. It was very important to me that she receive quality and clean formulated ingredients with holistic value. After reading great reviews and checking it out, I'm now there every couple of weeks. The employees are very warm and happy to be there, customer service is amazing and very knowledgeable when I express what I'm looking for. She loves the food formulas and hemp based treats, and any recommendations they've made for an upset stomach got her back to optimal health fast. So happy I found this place!

This is a small store and we love it! So do the twins, Moose and Squirrel. The people who work there have always been extremely knowledgeable about the items that are sold. In addition, they can look up your previous purchases so you can have some help with what has been successful in food for finicky cats. There are many hilarious toys that are fun with which to play. In addition, the twins love to play with them also. The people who work at the store have always been kind, friendly and patient. These are animal lovers and I love the work they do. Well done folks and three snaps up for your work ethics!

I had never been to a Tomlinson's before--honestly, I had never even heard of it since they don't have any in California. I learned during my visit that there are 18 locations in Austin, and WOW, what an amazing store! The customer service here is on another level--it honestly felt like the hospitality of a high-end hotel. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, even opening the door for customers. They truly go out of their way to help, and I'm not exaggerating! I believe the employee who assisted me was Vanessa, and she was fantastic. She helped me pick out the perfect gifts, especially for the cat-related items since I don't have a cat myself. I was shopping for an 8-year-old who has two cats, so I wanted the best toys. I ended up choosing a faux rabbit foot toy with feathers for self-play, a classic "Lambie" plush, and a handmade hemp catnip mouse with a long tail for interactive play. I even learned a lot about catnip, which I had heard of before but didn't actually know much about--this staff is truly knowledgeable! I also brought my dog with me, and not only did he have a blast playing with other dogs, but the store also gave him free treats to try. They even sent me home with some freeze-dried sample treats, which was such a nice touch. The selection of dog toys here is incredible--I'd honestly be hesitant to bring a child in because the toys are so high-quality, they could pass for children's toys! I ended up getting an amazing eco-friendly crocodile toy made entirely of recycled materials. Its legs are ropes for tug-of-war, and its hollow body holds a replaceable water bottle that creates that satisfying crunching sound dogs love. Once the bottle is chewed up, you can swap it out for a new one--such a smart design! This store has everything--leashes, collars, treats, and a huge variety of toys for both tiny and giant dogs. They also had the cutest little plush toys shaped like root vegetables with adorable faces--absolutely melted my heart! Prices were super affordable, too. Honestly, after seeing what they offer, I don't see the point in ordering pet supplies on Amazon anymore. Stores like this deserve our support, and it's a place my dog genuinely enjoys visiting. I was also looking for travel-sized dog food for a trip and found some perfect 3.5 oz pouches for only $2, which I could take in my carry-on. While browsing, I noticed a lot of repeat customers stopping in just to grab their favorite treats from a self-serve treat station, kind of like those bulk snack bins at Sprouts or Whole Foods. Next time, I'll have to check it out for my dog! Another thing I need to ask about is their nail trimming service, which my neighbor mentioned. While I was there, I even saw the staff helping deliver an adopted puppy to its new home--such a sweet moment! And as I was checking out, I learned they offer same-day delivery, which is so convenient. I haven't placed an order yet, but it's good to know that option exists. Overall, this was such a fun and memorable shopping experience. I'll definitely be coming back and getting all my pet supplies here from now on!

I got a full service groom, bath and haircut. My long haired Dachshund has been groomed many, many times in her 14-year life so far and this was by far the worst haircut she ever got! Like even worse than the time her grandma (my mom) took the kitchen shears to her. There were choppy, jagged cuts everywhere. Oh I also don't like that they ask you about tipping before you even see your dog! They hand you the invoice, make you go pay at the front registers (where they ask you if you want to add tip), then you bring your receipt back to the grooming department at which time they go in the back to get your dog. This place was recommended by a neighbor, and when I followed up and told them what happened they said they go to the Buda location. I might give one more try at that location but I'm nervous now!

One thing I've always enjoyed about this location is their variety of fish. In the past I've purchased their beautiful fighting fish (Betta fish), which I love. Of course, anyone who knows Bettas knows you can't put them all together--they'll fight with each other--so they definitely need their own little space in a tank! They also have other pets available through private vendors, along with plenty of supplies for just about any type of pet owner. He is the sweetest and most tame little guy. They were extremely thorough at going over how to care for him when I picked him up, even to the point of making sure I knew how to syringe feed him should I need to (which I never did have to) but they want to make sure you are going to care for their birds. They covered nutrition with me, and even had a little cage to take him home in. I highly recommend them if you are considering any of their birds. When I had him checked out at the vet, I brought all my paper work with me they provided, and even the vet was impressed with the literature they gave me at their dietary recommendations. Breeder ethics concerns:…read more Obtained a female yellow crossover quaker parrot from JC Aviary Feb 5, 2026. Hatched August 2025. As of February 13: Defensive against fingers & hands. Shaking when picked up & heart racing. Grabs cage bars to avoid being picked up. Reluctantly accepts a few head scratches. Mostly leaving her alone except for "nice baby talk." She acts like she was forced throughout her young life. No free choice ever, based on her behavior with me. What did they do with her both before she was weaned & after? Looks to me like they didn't socialize her at all and instead spent their time making TikTok videos for a subsequent sale. No proper nor adequate handling and loving. No teaching of the birds that the human touch shouldn't be feared. In my view and observation, this breeder simply did not work to ensure that this bird, and probably the birds in that clutch, were actually going to Enjoy being around people. My new bird was not a properly hand raised quaker baby. Now I agree, she could be worse, but still a properly hand raised Quaker baby shouldn't basically be afraid to be touched and be shaking when picked up, nor immediately defensive of all fingers and hands when gently reached out to in their cages. I compare and contrast to my own experience with quakers & other people's new quakers also. Expected better from modern breeders. In my view: Inadequate socialization. Insufficient individual attention. Emotional underdevelopment. Also she arrived with a closed leg band - inherently risky. Paid $100 to a vet to have it removed this past weekend. Band had "JCA" on it & a number. No one, near me will know what that means. Poor communication: Ignores most SMS queries. Voice phone calls rushed and dismissive. Pushed a $285 nebulous "starter kit" and required a $40 carrier fee, for a huge bulky heavy handmade wooden carrier. Received a not properly socialized bird. In my view: This breeder is Strange. Stuck on himself. Not, ensurung the birds he raises & sells, as pets, Actually Enjoy the Human Touch. And frankly the man is hurting American aviculture. Slipshod know it all know nothing pompous treatment of his birds and of his customers too. I received a bird apparently Forced to do this with that, from day one. Check the bad reviews here. Quote from one: "I have a very sweet friend that was told that she was getting a hand fed conure and when they picked up their baby it was not a friendly bird. This couple has had beautiful conures for 30 years & never have they bought a hand fed bird that bites & where it draws blood. They even let it out of the cage everyday & they spend all day with it & they've tried cuddling with it & it would just bite them. I have seen this bird & tried to handle it myself & it tried to bite me. I have hand raised birds for many years for a local pet shop and they were always lovable & they never would bite me or anyone. JC Aviary charged them $800 for this bird & they are very unhappy & they should get their money back!!" --end of quote I do know what well adjusted properly raised quakers act like, yes with all the wonderful boldness of quaker parrots.
