Our go to brand the kids haven't stopped enjoying--Nutrisouce Pure Vita, which uses limited ingredients for sensitive tummies. I have hesitated to leave this review for a while because I was asked to not share. Please do not share your personal information with this business. It is not secure or safe. An employee, who I am not sure I ever met, accessed my information and harassed me for months at my home, online and ever sent me a threatening letter over some weird delusion. When made aware of the breech of personal information, I never heard anything back. Therefore, I am not going to assume the lack of security with personal addresses etc isn't still accessable to anyone that works there. It was great to get the extra discounts and free bags of food etc but it was not worth it to live through the harassment, time it took to legally get it to stop, and the feeling of loss of safety in my own home. I never dreamed a business would be so lax in their care of personal information to allow it to be viewed by every employee. Cannot sing enough praises for this establishment AND the staff. I found them by chance on a quest to find my baby boy a birthday cookie. Since then, I've been a regular customer. Although I normally focus on their dog products, they have an impressive stock of cat-essentials as well. They carry a huge variety of dry foods, wet foods, treats, toys, skin and fur care, supplements, etc. You name it? They've got it. I love the staff there; they always welcome my boy with pets and baby-talk even if he's got a criminal record of peeing on a display once. They also have a water bubbler, which is SO perfect for Texas heat. Nothing better than some refreshments for the pups while you shop. My first order from Healthy Pet was recently during the pandemic. Their website is easy to navigate, and you don't have to buy a membership to get discounts. Currently, they're offering free delivery for orders over $50, but also deliver smaller orders for a nominal fee ($5 when last checked). Prior to the pandemic, my dog and I have visited the store and found the employees helpful and the inventory to be similar to other healthy pet food stores in Austin. The day I placed my delivery order, I wasn't expecting to hear from them until the next day, as it was about a half hour before they closed. To my surprise, I got a call asking if I'd be home for delivery that night, and a very kind employee dropped off my dog food and treats order on my doorstep about an hour later. This is a small store and we love it! So do the twins, Moose and Squirrel. The people who work there have always been extremely knowledgeable about the items that are sold. In addition, they can look up your previous purchases so you can have some help with what has been successful in food for finicky cats. There are many hilarious toys that are fun with which to play. They have a huge selection of incredible things from toys, to food, to snacks, and everything else to keep your pets happy and healthy and active. Arya is like a little kid in a candy shop at Healthy Pet. Sniff, sniff, scamper, scamper. Cold nose on my leg. Step on my foot. Body bump. Run drink out of the store's fresh water bowl. People were handing out samples of a new grain free holistic dog food, "Earthborn", and Arya LOVED it! At home, she begins to drool when she sees the little package and smells what's inside. I will never go anywhere else again! I had to recently switch from my regular place and I couldn't be happier!!! They are outstanding. Not only did they have my large breed dog's food, it was delivered in less than an hour. They needed to order food for my other pups and It was supposed to be in today, sadly it wasn't on the truck. BUT, Christina, talked to the owner and they delivered a 5lb bag of food with a can of pumpkin to tide the boys over until their food comes in tomorrow. We order the dog food delivery in town and Trevor somehow delivers it either same-day or next day. It's a life saver...and they call before to make sure you're there to grab the frozen stuff. I took my Coton de Tulear for a self-serve dog wash. Because he is 10lbs he was considered a small dog (under 30lbs) and the price would be $12 which was reasonable. There were three dog washing stations separated into individual stalls by glass doors. A variety of shampoos, conditioning spray, and brushes are provided but, with COVID-19, it may be better to bring your own (1) slicker or furminator (2) soft silicone scrubby (curry brush) and (3) comb/finishing brush. It also doesn't hurt to bring disinfectant wipes, even though the staff cleans each station between customers. It's not a bad idea to disinfect both sides of the aprons. I really appreciate them offering them to the customers, but they are not made for plus size women, and I felt kinda scuzzy trying on different ones to see if I could find one that fit. It is an item you have to pull over your head, so bring Lysol or wipes if you are not bringing your own apron. It was a good thing I brought my own Clorox wipes because the blow dryer nozzle was filthy. It was damp from all the water spraying around and still had hair on it from the previous dog. My only other gripe other than aprons and dirty blow dryers is not figuring out the hot water, so be sure to ask how they work because my doggy never had warm water. I tried both faucet handles separately and combined, but was in a rush to finish bathing my dog because I could tell the staff person was annoyed with me, so I didn't stop to go ask. Even though I arrived at 5:24pm with plenty of time to wash my little dog before they closed at 6pm, the employee gave me an exasperated look. Hey, it wasn't my fault a bigger dog walked in for a bath the same time as me and the other two stalls hadn't been cleaned yet. I told her I called earlier and was told to just make sure I got there before 5:30pm. She didn't seem happy to have to clean the stall for me, but I disinfected everything I used in the room and wiped out the debris my dog left in the tub so I didn't add to cleaning burden. I would also suggest bringing gloves. read more

Healthy Pet has a great selection of cat & dogs toys, beds, collars/ leashes/ harnesses, bowls and canisters, brushes/tools, skin/ nail/ coat/ eye/ ear care products, a huge and healthy variety of food, treats, and supplements, and so many other useful accessories and supplies. The food ranges from kibble to wet to frozen/ raw. If you haven't gone to Healthy Pet (off of William Cannon and Mopac)- you MUST go. This probably isn't your first rodeo, but if it is they will set the bar high. It's so worth the trip, and here are my top 6 reasons why: 1. They price match. So if you find a bag of food, treats or a toy (anything), as long as it's from an actual store front store (not the online marketplace), they will match the price. They've done it for me several times! 2. They have an AMAZING and forgiving return policy. Pretty much if you buy something, and there is any reason in the world why you don't want to keep it, including your dog I'm not liking a product, they will take it back with receipt. No questions asked. The one or two times I've had to return something it was zero hassle, smooth transaction, straight back to original form of payment, and much appreciated! 3. They create a profile for you, so even if you lose your receipts, and you need to return something, they have everything tracked and logged under your name. So it's really no hassle. Also, say you bought something that you want to buy again, and you couldn't remember which flavor or brand you bought, they keep track of it all so that takes out the guesswork in situations like these, thus saving you time and frustration! 4. Their staff is amazing, knowledgeable, and super helpful. Whoever trains these people does an excellent job and they all love to help. If you ever have any questions they will drop what they're doing and help you for as long as you need. 5. As of the last time I went, they were still doing a buy 12 bags of the same dog food, get one free promo. So if you're a loyal customer, that could help a lot and potentially save you big $$! 6. Say goodbye to paying $$$ for a basic shampoo! Say farewell to the water hose in your backyard, bending over breaking your back to reach your dog, or filling up a plastic cup to wet your dog in the tub! They have a dog wash station! (Pretty sure it's a walk in basis/ First come first serve and I believe they have 2-3 sinks). I haven't personally used this self-service awesomeness, but I plan to soon. So if bathing your pooch at home is a challenge (like it is for me), they have counter height sinks equipped with a variety of shampoos and conditioners as well as convenient hoses, (all included in price). Only suggestion would be a rewards program that includes other purchases (other than bags of food), like for example: for every $75 you spend, you get $10 off your next purchase of $50 or more... or something of that nature. OR a similar "electronic punch card" system. For every purchase of $x.xx or more you get a punch. When your reach 6-8-10-12... or whatever # of punches you get a 25% off coupon for your next purchase. It would positively incentivize people to buy as many of their pet products as possible at Healthy Pet! And encourage even more return visits and customer loyalty! But overall A+++++ They're amazing and I'm so happy that they just opened a third more central location. Now central and downtown Austin has the option of even more convenient shopping. My Girls LOVE this store everything about it from the water fountain, grain free and single ingredient treats that the health fanatic Momma I allow them to the awesome owner Trevor and his mascot co-worker Biggie! We have dates with Healthy Pet at least once week so might as well make it official public knowledge ;-) I love HP because Trevor and Chris greet me by name and usually a hug they know my dogs' names, they only sell super premium dog food and treats and they are very educated on the food they sell. I feed my Pit mix raw but my Boxer never adjusted to it so I had her on Orijen I had also suggested Orijen to my sister for her new Cocker Spaniel puppy. After talking to Trevor he suggested Acana the little sister to Orijen (same Champion company) that is still grain free and high protein but lower in protein for less active non-working dogs and it is about 5.00 less expensive with same regional ingredients. FYI feeding a high protein, nutrient and calorie dense kibble is not more expensive than feeding the cheap crap that is full of fillers that just come out the other end of the digestive system - with Acana and Orijen you feed half of what you would with say Natures Domain plus it has all the Omegas, DHA/EPA, Glucosamine, Chondroitine and Microorganisms so no need to supplement. And, Trevor gave me a Healthy Pet Go Local Card so I get 5% off on top of the buy 12 bags get one free! If you have big dogs that ='s a 60.00+ free bag of dog food! I was recently in here to get an e-collar for Leroy. He had a hot spot on his leg and I was trying to keep him from licking it. They have a nice selection of see through plastic ones with padded edges and larger padded collars that are not see through. I did not have Leroy with me and they steered me to a larger collar. When I got it home, he was dwarfed in it and there was too much excess flap to get in his way. No problem! I brought Leroy back and promptly exchanged it for the smaller size, but fitted him there just to make sure. The staff was friendly and doted on my overly enthusiastic boy as if her were the only dog in the world. They keep your profile on hand to make exchanges easier and help you to remember what you bought last time. They also take the Go Local card. They have a lot of great healthy pet foods and treats. Their pricing may be a little higher (but not much) than those chain pet stores, but they offer a better selection of local, hard to find, organic and healthy alternatives. Becoming a new puppy parent certainly has become an adventure, and this place has helped out the most. Collars, leashes, and tags oh my. Both the quantity and the quality they fit into this store is crazy. We've gotten toys, treats, chews, bowls, harnesses, leashes, nicely engraved tags, grooming equipment, and super high quality food here at prices equal but often less than Amazon! Brands like Wellness, Taste of the Wild, Fromm's for food - and for treats, both crunchy and chewy tricky trainers are superbly priced. Not to mention, the employees are super helpful too. We were overwhelmed at first, but after a lot of looking we were able to start asking intelligent questions. They do have at least a full aisle of cat stuff and some cat people working there too, although I can't speak too much to that. The self-wash bath station looks great, and we really need to be trying it out soon. Zoe, girl puppy, is in need of a bath. We plan to head there because I'm confident they'll have recommendations/products for washing her sensitive skin. read more

When I came back to let them know I found her, a young girl recognized my dog as the missing dog before I could let them know! Their customer service is fantastic. You know it's a good company when the employees are consistently in a great mood and you can even hear them laughing. They are always very engaging and ready to answer questions. They were recently out of a flavored Kong cheese and then they held 3 bottles for me from their next order - it was waiting for me behind the counter. When I was concerned about my dogs anxiety, they suggested herbal treats and even offered advice on suggestions I'd heard. I'm a big fan. If they don't have what you're looking for then they will order it. I found their prices to be slightly lower than Tomlinson's and you're able to use a Go Local card to get more discounts. They easily exceed Petco or Petsmart with their high-quality selection and healthier for your pet. Love love love this place! read more

I thought I had already written a review, but I guess not. This is where we shop for our fur-kids now. We used to be staunch shoppers of Petsmart and Petco because of prices and coupons but soon discovered that there is a reason that stuff is cheaper...cuz it's crap. So we got on some good raw food, some healthy puppy food, and some good overall adult food. The irony is that it's not even more expensive than the old stores, just better, awesome service, and I even found out that with the goLocal card and the frequent buyer card, it is probably overall cheaper. Plus they have good toys that actually last (with the weenies, labs, and fosters nothing lasts very long in our house) and fun stuff you didn't even know existed. I have yet to try the bath because they'll just get dirty again, but I'm sure I will eventually and my back will appreciate it. This place is the best dog store I've ever entered. One of the greatest things about Healthy Pet is how many interactive puzzles they have in their toy section. Our guy only eats out of puzzles as a way to help stimulate his mind and keep him from being the destruct-o dog that we know he can be. Since he's a heavy chewer on top of that, Healthy Pet is our new best friend. They have a huge selection of puzzles that are great for feeding time and to keep his mind occupied. They have all the bones we could possibly dream of in their freezer near the counter, and with a Go Local Card, our brand of food is a little less than what we've been paying at the other place. With two dogs, one of whom is a giant who will eat us out of house and home, any savings is a welcome savings. The selection of treats is incredible as well, and our dogs couldn't be happier with the new things they've been getting lately as a result of Healthy Pet. On top of the awesome selection, it's clean, the service is wonderful, and they even have a dog wash with everything you need to wash your buddy. And once you've spruced 'em up with a bath, don't forget to check out the great collar section with all of the normal stuff as well as specialty brands like Bella Bean and Sew Olive.
