I found Jennifer on a website called Thumbtack. She answered my request in a matter of minutes. Jennifer was willing to handle all o the details associated with the very specific needs of each set of animals.... Her communication was amazing and she was very detail oriented and had us fill out a sheet for each animals needs/vets/feeding/routine/specifics. She came out a week prior and did a complete and thorough walk through of the entire routine for each animal's A.M. and P.M. care. She followed up with texts and emails the day before her pet sitting time to make sure we were all set. Jennifer had to let chickens in/out of the coop, feed, gather eggs and make sure they were tucked in safely in their coop at night. She fed, brushed and even scooped manure from the donkey stall and pen and visited with the donkeys. She fed , took care of litter box, talked to and won over our shy kitty in 3 days time. Jennifer updated us every evening with a text to let us know how things were and even snapped a photo of our kitty and sent it to us. When we got home, Jennifer had picked up all of our mail and left us a detailed note on the pets and followed up with an email making sure we arrived safely and the pets were ok. We could not have been happier with Sunset Canyon Pet Care. We are already working out the details for a week long trip in July to use her services again. I also wish they could give more photos/updates of how our dog is doing and what her run looks like, but understand it's more of a no-frills place and she always come home doing just fine, so not a reason to avoid at all. The upper level classes work on "rally courses". Cons: All classes are on Margaret's land/field (this has both pros and cons). Great when it's warm and sunny or overcast, not so fun when it gets rained out or in the heat of summer. (Though many of the reschedules classes were nice, like in the cold winter/holiday months). We chose to work with Humaner Trainer because of the many recommendations from friends and neighbors. Margaret and Kathleen work by cues, marks, and positive reinforcement (by treats, praise, or play)) to the dog. They are very knowledgeable about various methods of animal training, and the pros and cons of them all. As with ANY dog training, it does require work and consistency on the part of the dog's family. Margaret gives you the basic tools to train your dog, and to keep it healthy and balanced. The longer you can work with Margaret, the more practice you and your dog will get. I love how at the completion of level 4, our pup knows how to walk well on his leash, knows how to walk to my side while watching for my cues.

They helped us with an assessment of her, recommendations for a vet, changes in diet, and how to decrease her overall anxiety. We've taken a couple workshops by various presenters, our favorite being Sheri, and always leave with more practical information to put into our daily life. Because of all that we've learned, my husband, my daughter, and I are more responsible dog owners and our pup is a much happier animal. In other words, everyone enjoys everyone's company. What really sent us over the moon in loving CCTB was a super stressful situation for both pup and owner. In July, we were let down last minute by our dog sitter who was scheduled to take care of our pup while we were in Boston for a whole week. We did not receive this information until we were already out of state and through phone calls and emails, the Canine Center was able to take our puppy in and tutor her during the day and board her at night. Curtis and Lianna were absolute Lifesavers! The pictures and videos that came through my phone during that trip really melted my heart. When we picked up Ella, she was tired and dirty but was so happy and transitioned easily back into our home. If I had more money to board and tutor my pup with the Canine Center during every trip, I would absolutely do it with no hesitation.
