As a matter of fact she was being very careful given me the dog to take with me. Even though they know my name and they knew I was coming in today. Furthermore they had his name wrong and they called him a different name which I corrected them. So other than that I have sat this particular dog several times in the past and I always pick them up at Dogtopia, love this! I also noticed they do have dog treats in the very front and a jar. That was a nice gesture to give treats to visitors and their dogs bringing them in or taking them. As a dog lover myself definitely would recommend this location they're very careful with your dog and make sure they're treated with great respect and treated very well. They even send you home with a report card of how the dog did while being at this Cool place! One negative I have to point out they have a school right across the way for children so they do tend to have a lot of parking and 1 guy that was backing up almost hit me today. I had to yell at him but he seemed like he might have been a little off. Picking up his children. So that is the only negative I have to say is that when people are picking up their children you could back into them so you have to be very careful at this location. Sometimes I've boarded her, which usually causes her to be reluctant the next time we go for day care. Not at Pups and Pals! She is so excited every morning! The daily schedule allows for group play and indoor rest. The staff evaluates the dogs' personalities, size, and energy levels before putting them in a group. Playtime includes best friends, lots of cuddles and kisses, pools in the summer, and always playscapes. They go out anywhere between 6-8 times a day, with breaks in their air conditioned suites. The building is super nice, very new, and the play areas have K9 grass that keeps their paws nice and clean. I especially like that it is hosed every night. BTW there's a groomer onsite! Just a heads up -- it's hard to see the marquis from the 1st street entrance. You really need to know what you're looking for! April and I give Pups and Paws 4 paws up!

Earlier this year, my pup Ryder was viciously attacked by two large dogs who slipped out of loose…read moredog collars as we passed them at the park. Fortunatley he healed well after two weeks of dedicated TLC but the trauma of the experience remained with both him and me well after Ryder physically healed. I reached out to Matt for virtual dog training appointments to help us through that, and his guidance and great wisdom around dog psychology and behavior and deep empathy for Ryder and in general made such a huge impact. I learned from Matt how to help Ryder through his fear and trauma and how to recognize when he was experiencing trauma (for example, he developed a new and strong fear of rumbling engines). By applying Matt's empathetic practices, Ryder has become much less fearful, is no longer afraid of rumbling engines or playing with other dogs and he's back to his old happy, playful, super enthusiastic and friendly self!! :) Matt also greatly helped my dog Ellie through the excessive anxiety that resulted from my marital separation and helped us learn what an impact the breaking of that social bond had on her and how to address it! We now give her the extra attention she needs when doing hand offs to switch between homes. Thank you so much, Matt working with you has made a WORLD of difference in Ryder and Ellie's quality of life!! :)
