BEWARE!!!! THEY KILLED MY DOG!!! My family and I are beyond heartbroken!!! I boarded both of my dogs due to having to have major surgery. When I arrived, the staff was all new, place smelled of dog urine, but the staff assured me everything would be OK. I had major surgery in less than 3 hours, but I stayed extra to go over my request for my dogs. : "Dogs stay together, do not separate them, they stay in there " hotel room" majority of the time because they are very small. Etc." I bring a ton of stuff for for their room, too. After the events that have unfolded, I am questioning everything that they say is happening when you board your dogs!!!! After my dogs had been boarded for several days, they called me (just had major surgery- they were aware) to tell me that my dog was having trouble breathing and I needed to come get her! I was told by the main lady in charge(previously) if something ever happened, they take the dogs to the emergency vet! Obviously, I could not go get my injured dog, as I just had major cancer surgery, so I had a friend get her and rush her to the ER (ER was 10 min away! ) when my sweet baby got there she was bleeding internally. She passed away shortly after! Vet confirmed she was severely injured at the facility, causing her death. They did not act quickly to save her life, they let my dog die a slow painful death, while they did nothing! If they had taken her in at the first sign of something wrong, she might still be here. My other dog was attacked during the stay, too. This has been complete hell, and all this could have been avoided if they had done what they said. Instead, my dog is dead, and I am left completely utterly heartbroken. My dogs grew up together, so my other dog is trying to find her sister and it is so sad. My family is devastated, and heart broken. We are left with so many unanswered questions. The staff did not even follow up to see how my dog was! We called them to inform them that my dog died because their negligence and will be taken further action. They had one job, to keep my fur babies ALIVE, happy and heathy. The sweetest dog I have ever known was left in pain and dying at that facility and no one helped her. It is beyond comprehension. I would never trust this place with your beloved dog! My sweet angle is gone, and D Pet Hotel is to blame! I have been crying for days, my sweet baby is gone forever. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY. EVERYTHING THEY SAID TO ME WAS A LIE!!!!

Update: Just tried the grooming service at D Pet Hotel. AmAzInG!! Carmel looks gorgeous and the price was very reasonable! D Pet Hotels loves animals. They cuddle our pet and she comes home in a great mood EVERY TIME. We highly recommend them for boarding, puppy daycare AND grooming! We love our min labradoodle, Carmel. She sleeps in bed with various family members nightly. D Pet Hotels spoils Carmel better than any other dogsitter or kennel we tried. We get photos of her having a ball (literally). They independently recommended special food that Carmel loves. The owner and staff at D Pet Hotels clearly care about the animals. This is luxury pet living at its finest. Carmel never wants to leave the Hotel!! Love this place. Props to Liza, Janybody they hire given their impeccable standards.

D Pet Hotel truly takes care of your pets! The owner, Lisa, is the kindest person who you want caring for your pups while at daycare, boarding or grooming. One of our pups is anxious and reacts in certain situations. We were very upfront about this and she was so accepting. When we moved to Austin in 2021, she took our 2 pups often for daycare and boarding while we got settled. She has administered meds with difficulty to our special pup but keeps trying new treats aside from the ones we provide. We have had some hiccups but she's always very comforting (to us and the pups). Lisa always welcomes them back. Her willingness to collaborate, communicate and accept our pups means the world to us! We never worry when our pups are at D Pet Hotels. Thank you Lisa and staff for going above and beyond!!

My dog loves it here he's always happy and treated well. It's a bit pricey but they are constantly cleaning and keep an open eye on my pup. Three years and no major problems.

I know I'm not the only protective pet parent out there so this is why I only trust my girls with the staff at the D Pet Hotel. They are watching the pups 24 hours a day. Your babies are never left alone overnight. It gives peace of mind to know they are sleeping in a comfortable safe environment. When your girls pull the leash to go inside the lobby, you can feel assured they love being there.

My happy pups on their first day!

To be honest, I am VERY particular on who is watching my fur pups. So much so I drove nearly 7-hours round trip just to see if D Pet Hotel was up to my standards. And let me tell you, well worth the trip! From our initial contact (asking a ton of questions on the phone) I felt sure my babies we're going to be well taken care of. As soon as I arrived the staff was friendly, eager to answer all of my annoying questions (sorry! Lol), and even sent me photos throughout my pups (GSD, Black Mouth Cur, and terrier x) first day of play. Thanks again D Pet Hotel and we look forward to our next visiti! Side note: was also thankful they separate the big and little pups to ensure safe play.

9 years ago, my husband and I adopted a young male chihuahua who absolutely stole our hearts from the onset. We are empty nesters and so to say that our pup, Romeo is like a 5th child (we have 4 adults children) is an understatement. About 2 years after adopting Romeo, we learned that he has heart failure which totally devastated us. With that in mind, we are so very committed to giving this dog the best life possible, that includes making sure he has the best environment possible when we cannot be home with him. In the beginning after bringing him into our lives, we rarely traveled and the one time we did decide to take a trip out of town, we boarded him at a place we thought was wonderful (from past experience with a previous pup). We were horrified to see him when we returned. Romeo had literally lost 1/3 of his body weight after 12 days of boarding. For a dog who normally weighs 8 pounds, a 2+ pound weight loss is significant. That experience caused us to not travel without him in tow for many years. Air travel was dangerous with his heart condition and long car trips we hard on us all. We found ourselves back to square one. We needed to do something because we needed to have down time and yet we needed to be assured Romeo had the best care while we were away. In home pet sitters didn't work and most other kennels where too sterile and loud. Romeo sleeps on a pillow between our two heads at night so how was he going to survive in a noisy, cold, concrete cage? We lucked out and found D Pet Hotel which has turned out to be the most perfect solution for Romeo. He has his own little room, with a little bed and a TV monitor. A perfect hotel set up for pups! He is able to socialize and play safely with other dogs in a room that is only for smaller dogs. (The larger dogs have their own room). They also send us daily photos and reports on his progress and condition. They love on him so much while he's there that when we drop him off, he never appears or seems stressed. If he doesn't eat, they hand feed him and they patiently and diligently make sure his heart medication is administered. One time when picking him up when returning home from a trip, we found him in a Baby Bjorn carrier being carried around by one of the sweet staff. When that staff member learned we were his "parents" there to pick him up, she shed a few silent tears as she pulled him out of the carrier. It doesn't get any better than that. We are very grateful to have found D Pet Hotel at the Y in Oak Hill (Austin). They're the best!

I was happy to hear that the play groups are sorted by dog size and temperament to ensure that everyone would get along. The staff is so warm and friendly. You can tell they are dog people! I knew my boys were in good hands and it took a lot of stress of my mind while on vacation. I LOVE getting to see all of the pictures that they post daily on Facebook. Seriously they're so cute and funny - you can see the dogs personalities in the pics and to me that means they are comfortable and happy. Transparency was a big element for me to try this place out for the first time. They have published policies on their website about what they will do if your dog were to get hurt on accident and I really appreciated that. There is really nothing negative that I have found about this place! I recommend bringing your furry children there.

Sometimes I've boarded her, which usually causes her to be reluctant the next time we go for day care. Not at Pups and Pals! She is so excited every morning! The daily schedule allows for group play and indoor rest. The staff evaluates the dogs' personalities, size, and energy levels before putting them in a group. Playtime includes best friends, lots of cuddles and kisses, pools in the summer, and always playscapes. They go out anywhere between 6-8 times a day, with breaks in their air conditioned suites. The building is super nice, very new, and the play areas have K9 grass that keeps their paws nice and clean. I especially like that it is hosed every night. BTW there's a groomer onsite! While my dog loves people, she tends to avoid other dogs due to anxiety, which can lead to her biting them. I find it unreasonable for the owner to require my dog to participate in group play, as she stated. She is not familiar with the temperament of Australian Cattle Dogs. In the past, other boarding facilities have accommodated my request to keep my dog separated from the other dogs, but Mary Jane was unwilling to meet my dog's needs. Mary Jane did not provide me with enough time to find another boarding facility after she declined my request one day before the scheduled daycare session. The receptionist informed me that it was available, but MJ said it was full. Additionally, I asked her to remove my account, and she texted me that she would do so shortly. However, when I checked a few hours later, I found that the account still existed. I texted her, and I still haven't gotten her reply.

Both are high strung, worked up, and hostile individuals that really need to not be involved in this company or any front-facing employee requirements. This facility has received over $700 from my dog's visits in the last few months, and my dog has received excellent report cards for his kind and playful behavior. The caretakers Aaron and Curtis are wonderful to him and I, but I think they should begin to look for new jobs, as my recent phone call with Mary Jane and interactions with Gavin have been very intense, gaslighting and bullying. I was denied daycare last weekend and resubmitted my request because no reason was provided and they typically only have a few dogs on Saturday for daycare. I thought it was an error, as we come every weekend to play for a full Saturday. My second request was sent with a text to doublecheck the accuracy, and a text came back that the facility was booked for boarding dogs. I assumed it was due to ACL Festival, said no problem and booked my dog elsewhere- at Hill Country Pet Resort. Zoomies recommended no other pet daycare locations to me, so I had to start my research from scratch, and this place was down the street from Zoomies, with 4 star Yelp reviews. This is when everything changed. I had never been to HCPR, but upon arriving there I was greeted by a gentleman who took a hit from a bong and had sores all over his mouth. I felt uncomfortable but a sense of duty, and asked to see the facility to find out more of what I could report to city officials. They had kennels filled with piles of excrement at 9am, that the dogs were stepping on and they had no separate pens with mowed grass or turf for them to run around in. I left distraught, said NO THANKS, and drove away immediately. I decided to swing by our regular daycare of Zoomies, which was a few blocks away. I left my dog in the car and walked inside to inquire about any possible cancellations since we last spoke. The employee said he had extra help and that they would be happy to take my little dog because he was easy to handle and the employee seemed to know the situation over at HCPR and made no issue of taking mine in last minute. So as a mom, I was relieved but also wept driving away for the other dogs left behind at HCPR. All went well last Saturday at Zoomies, and all were happy. I even had a nice talk with the employees when I picked my dog up later that day. On Monday, I received a call from the manager of HCPR and shared my feedback with him- he was very supportive of my thoughts and concerns and went to the owners immediately. It was a very bad situation but the manager has a good head on his shoulders and took my criticism respectfully, as it was delivered respectfully but with searing truth. On the other hand, Mary Jane, the owner at Zoomies sent me a banal text this morning asking me to call her. It was written like she was a school principal and I was in trouble. She blamed me for going around her from the start of the call and said she wanted to understand my thinking. Pure ego on fire. I knew she was already upset and said she was at a funeral last weekend, so I could tell this just wasn't going to go well because she was very angry and acting hurt. Mary Jane kept interrupting me and then blamed me for the sins of all others who just show up without a reservation. She told me to stop talking and I had to raise my voice over her to ask her to calm down and reminded her that she's not the only person going through hard things. I asked her repeatedly to please allow me to finish my story because I was coming from a good place, but she kept interrupting and blame shifting. I said again, that I just asked if there were any cancellations with no intention of leaving my dog unless there was a new opening, and did not bring my dog inside with me. I simply wanted to know if there had been any cancellations since we last spoke. She made remarks that I kept putting in requests and didn't respect their final word, she gaslight me and twisted it around on me, insinuating that I was manipulating the situation to my benefit and then she yelled out that I was BANNED from the facility and hung up on me. That outcome was Mary Jane's fault entirely. She had not spoken to the employee yet, either. She just wanted to screw me over and get back at me for some made up slight. I was a loyal customer. I have also left positive 5-star reviews and recommended them on social media and to everyone I know. I am shocked at how much of a hurt and suffering elitist Mary Jane has become within her own operation. She seemed so nice. But things have changed and their personal problems are getting in the way of what could have been a successful business.
