I had a challenging circumstance with a sick cat and the team was kind in working through challenges to figure out if boarding made sense. The owner reached out to me a week after even though we ended up not being able to board my cat to check in and provide some more tips on her condition. If you're looking for a great cat boarding facility, this is your spot. It is separate from the dogs so it's very calm and quiet. Each cat gets their own room with lots of space and a big window to look out at the beautiful property. There are even horses and a little pond. My cat always comes back happy and stress-free from Remington. Plus, it is owned by a vet who I'm pretty sure lives in a house on the land so it feels safe that even if there's an overnight emergency or if your animal gets sick, someone is close by to deal with it onsite so you're not having to try to relocate them to a different vet facility while you're out of town. It's not super cheap but I think it's worth the expense. read more

As a new dog owner, I was hesitant to leave my dog, Margo, at a boarding place when I was traveling. But Remington Pet Ranch has been such an amazing find. Knowing they were vet owned, I had more confidence that they would do the best for my dog's needs. I've had Margo board with them twice and she's had such a fun time. The first time was under the TLC package where she had no interactions/play-time with other dogs. However, I took off a star because in the beginning I was confused because I took her in for an assessment with a daycare day. Here, I thought they would be assessing how she did with other dogs, but apparently they only tested how she did with humans. After this first assessment, they advised the TLC package so she builds her confidence at the ranch. She still had a great time with her care givers. They fed her and gave proper medication at the right times. The second time I boarded her, I ended up paying for another assessment during the board (which is more expensive than daycare assessment) to see how she does with other dogs due to the confusion. I even filled out the same forms for assessment again, which I thought was weird, since they were saying the assessments were different. Regardless, she did great on her first day so she was under the Ulti-mutt package where she met a bunch of new friends and had an amazing time. Even though Remington Pet Ranch is almost an hour drive away from my house, I still trust them to take care of Margo and will continue to board her here if more travel plans arise! read more

Tip for fellow pet owners: wait a full week before you post a review, issues can show up after boarding and then get worse over the next few days. Our dog Maple (3-year-old border collie mix) boarded at Remington Pet Ranch 22 - 26 May 2025. She was healthy going in, but had loose stool at pick-up on 26 May. By 30 May she had bloody, watery diarrhea and became weak within hours. A vet diagnosed treat-related pancreatitis; the bill was $700, and the vet said another day's delay could have meant the ER or worse. I filed a claim under the ranch's two-page Pet Care Warranty (up to $500 for illnesses that appear within seven days). My first email went out on 3 June--24 hours past the seven-day window--after I had gathered the paperwork. The reasons for denial changed three times: 1. Pancreatitis was "outside their control." 2. "Directly related" did not include GI illness (even though the warranty never excludes it). 3. The claim was late because I reported on day eight. During the exchange I was called a bully, told paying me would "set a precedent," and the conversation ended after I said the decision seemed profit-driven and the warranty wording was being interpreted by the owner alone. While checking reviews I found another public post about a dog with bloody diarrhea here whose claim was also denied, so this is not a one-off case. Based on Maple's clean health record, I believe she would not be sick if she hadn't stayed here. The shifting explanations and defensive tone left me confused and unsupported while my dog's life was on the line. Please read the warranty carefully and get every exclusion in writing. If your dog becomes ill after boarding here, be ready to pay the vet bill yourself. Maple is still recovering, and waiting one more day could have been fatal. I hope the owners rewrite the warranty in plain language and handle future cases with more transparency and empathy. I am an anxious pet owner with an anxious pet that has been attacked at another boarding & daycare facility. This experience eased my (& I think Charlie's) stress immensely. I got pictures & a report card everyday he was boarded and it was very comforting. Charlie genuinely looked happy! I did the TLC boarding due to his past experiences and general dislike for crowds & all went well. When I picked him up they told me a little about his stay and gave me a card with a little magnet of one of the pictures they took while he was there. That is definitely something you don't get often when finding a boarding place. They not only do boarding, but daycare also. All of the cats get a nice big window and spacious lodging. I cannot give enough praise to this organization! Their pet environment and attentiveness to our furry loved ones is unlike any other. They offer options for individual or group play during daycare and boarding, taking them out to play daily for long periods of time. Our dog Lexi was a rescue during Hurricane Harvey in Houston and as a result needed to have 2 surgeries during her first year. This place was a Godsend for us as we were looking for a new place to board our cats! Our cats just had their first stay there, and it was amazing. I love bringing Brutus here! He gets to socialize while I'm out of town and the staff always acknowledges him when we drop him off. They will send photos and I follow in social media and get to see him play. The place is very clean and is run by a veterinarian in case of an emergency. he gets playtime outside and sometimes inside of it is too hot or raining. You can request to have him go on a hike. I boarded my dog here during Christmas weekend for a total of 5 days. I started searching for boarding places a month ago prior to my vacation, and to be honest this wasn't my first choice as I could not find many reviews online, but all other places were fully booked so I decided to give it a try (Recently moved to Austin from Las Vegas, didn't know the demand would be so high here). I dropped off my dog for evaluation the next day after I contacted them, he passed the evaluation so everything was set to go for the actual boarding. The staff was very friendly and professional. My problem was when we actually boarded him. Right after I dropped him off I asked about how we can get updates about our dog. They said they post a lot of pictures and stories on their Instagram account. Of course I immediately followed them on Instagram. The first night away I checked Instagram every 30 minutes, nothing was posted but understandable because I dropped him off fairly late during the day. Second day I saw one Instagram picture with my puppy I was so happy, and the following 3 days I kept on checking, and nothing. No updates whatsoever and no phone calls or any text messages. When my boyfriend picked him up, he asked about the pictures and the staff member said the Instagram stories will disappear after 24 hours that's probably why we didn't see them. I literally checked their IG every 30 minutes, if they posted it no way I would miss it. I am upset that I felt like my dog was treated differently from other dogs. I never saw a single picture of him running around in the yard or being taken to walks, but all other dogs had all kinds of pictures. I couldn't help but just picture him sitting in his kennel all day. This was probably not the case but as an anxious dog owner, I just couldn't help but feel sorry for my pup and feel guilty to leave him. Maybe this place is new and hasn't established a proper way to communicate with dog owners, but I probably won't bring my dog here again. read more

Growing up, none of our family dogs were ever boarded - until our last dog for a family wedding. She unfortunately had a heart attack and died while she was boarded. We later found out that it was due to a medical condition, but that memory/trauma stuck with me and probably prevented me from getting my own dog over the years. But, I have always been a dog lover and finally got my first in November 2020 - an extremely high energy/FOMO black male lab puppy. As a single fur mom, I knew the time would come that I would have to board him. The staff and the facilities made me feel extremely comfortable about leaving my pup. Since I got him, he has not been around a lot of people/pets (Covid) - so, he is always overly excited and a handful to deal with. But all of the staff have been so patient and kind with my pup - and with me. They have given me feedback on his behaviors and provide a daily report card/picture - which lessens my anxieties about my pup while I'm gone. And - most importantly - my pup LOVES going to the Ranch! He is now also in day school training at the Ranch and LOVES his trainer! This training has not only helped my pup's behaviors/responses to commands - but also gives me a little break 2 days out of the week. Not many boarding facilities also offer training (and walks, swims, kongs, nail trims, etc.) - so it's super convenient to have a one stop shop! I boarded my dogs here twice before writing my review. Both times the front desk was unprofessional. They were unable to answer questions related to my dogs being boarded together in the same kennels or not. When I would call for updates, they were too busy to give me detailed information about my pets. Instead, they told me I would get updates at 3:00 pm and to wait for the email. When I did get an update, it was very generic and did not answer any of the questions I asked originally. The front desk never seemed to know first-hand how my dogs were and no one was able to give me detailed information about how they were doing, even when I came to pick them up. If for some reason my dogs did enjoy this boarding facility, I would never know based on the poor communication process. All I do know is when my dogs did get home, they drank a lot of water and food and laid in a soft bed for hours after arriving home. On the day of the flight, they accommodated us with our flight schedule by checking us in one hour later past closing time. I was nervous about boarding my dog for the first time ever. As soon as I pulled up to Remington Pet Ranch I had a peace about leaving him there. The location is beautiful and as soon as you walk in it is clean and calm, I had no worries about leaving my baby there. I was also a little worried because my dog is so small, I wondered how that would go. They have separate areas for small and large dogs. Brutus had the best time, he was defiantly sad to leave and I could tell he missed all his new friends. One of the best decisions I have ever made was to send my puppy to Remington Pet Ranch. From the initial consult where they gauged Nanook's play style (he is a huge puppy) to the great service everyday, I am so happy I chose this doggy day care. The staff is wonderful-- they post videos all day so I can check out how happy he is on IG --Nanook has made so many friend and cries when he can't go. I love the fact the Ranch is owned and operated by a Veterinarian, they feed him (I can bring his food if I want), they are always in a good mood and the staff to puppy ratio is great. We absolutely love this place. I was hesitant at first because of the distance from town but I could not be more happy for them! They treat my special needs pet with gentle love and care! He really seems to be relaxed and enjoy his time there. He loves the staff! Everyone is so sweet and caring. Great group of folks! Training a 7mo old pup is HARD and we needed a professional touch to reign our girl in. Judy(trainer) did a great job. She un-did some bad habits I'd taught NALA and gave her a great foundation for us to continue to build on.
