I found Jennifer on a website called Thumbtack. She answered my request in a matter of minutes. Jennifer was willing to handle all o the details associated with the very specific needs of each set of animals.... Her communication was amazing and she was very detail oriented and had us fill out a sheet for each animals needs/vets/feeding/routine/specifics. She came out a week prior and did a complete and thorough walk through of the entire routine for each animal's A.M. and P.M. care. She followed up with texts and emails the day before her pet sitting time to make sure we were all set. Jennifer had to let chickens in/out of the coop, feed, gather eggs and make sure they were tucked in safely in their coop at night. She fed, brushed and even scooped manure from the donkey stall and pen and visited with the donkeys. She fed , took care of litter box, talked to and won over our shy kitty in 3 days time. Jennifer updated us every evening with a text to let us know how things were and even snapped a photo of our kitty and sent it to us. When we got home, Jennifer had picked up all of our mail and left us a detailed note on the pets and followed up with an email making sure we arrived safely and the pets were ok. We could not have been happier with Sunset Canyon Pet Care. We are already working out the details for a week long trip in July to use her services again. Jennifer is more than reasonable with her pricing and goes the extra mile to make sure she understands all of the needs of the pets. So happy we found Sunset Canyon Pet Care. Kay SW Austin 78737

The doctors at Sunset Canyon are good, kind people whose passion is helping us keep our pets up and running. They have many years of combined experience. I was a valued employee there from 1999-2011. As this part of Hays county continues to grow in leaps and bounds, so do the locally owned businesses, I feel the core values that began with Drs Amber and Lamar Crossland are carried on in the hearts of the doctors and staff at Sunset Canyon today. Thank you, Gary and Erin, for keeping my girl feeling good this weekend.

This review is only based off of my experience/ first impressions and this business may work amazingly for your dog! Once I found Walk ATX it took me a while to get in contact with someone, called a couple times, left a voicemail, sent a couple emails -to no avail! Sent a dm on insta as a last resort and finally got in contact with someone! Yay! Erika helped me set up my account and went over daycare. Dropped my pup off for his first day! First impressions matter to me and as someone who is nervous I would have loved to see them greet my dog. Instead the woman at the front ( not sure her name - mullet - immediately went into a quick " take off the leash. What's his name? You'll get an update at 11" And then I watched her usher him straight to the backyard. No saying hi to the dog, no convo with me, no easing his nerves, no questions about him, no petting him, no introductions, nothing. I didn't love that, especially since it was our first time and it made me much more nervous to drop him off there. Around 11:00 I started to look for updates, none. Tried to call 3 times, no answer. Again this is his first day so not hearing anything on how he was doing and getting no photos - nerves then rose to an all time high. People are allowed to have bad days so will update this after a few more times. Just know the first day is not as informative or warm may not be as warm as you'd expect.

It is difficult to find a doggy boarding/day care that provides such well rounded, holistic approach to pet care. We have used Walk ATX for boarding, day camp with pick up and drop off included, and for in home check ins with walks. As well as their add-ons like baths and fun photoshoots. Mo is a party animal - we are constantly training, working with him and we fill all of his needs. Yet he is an energetic, happy 2.5yo rescue from Austin Pets Alive. He is a foster win actually. He's always soooo excited when he realizes he's about to get dropped off at Walk ATX and he's welcomed with big smiles and a huge "Hi Mo!!!!!" by the passionate and hard working staff. Walk ATX does pack walks, outdoor playtime in their yard with staff assigned to different groups of dogs. I love that there's constant supervision and a structured day. Including rest/down time, which is just as important as to not overstimulate the doggos. It seems as if Walk ATX has only gotten better over the years. They've incorporated training, special add-ons, and cool adventures. Last time Mo stayed with them while we were in Costa Rica, Britton and the team were super attentive (Mo was on limited activity for the first few days per our vet), and even called to give an update, in addition to their daily updates via email and on their app "Time to Pet". I know Mo is cared for and looked after by a group of caring animal lovers.

With not much notice, Nicole helped us out and had us covered for when we needed pet sitting. I cannot tell you how much comfort it brought us to know that people like Nicole and her team were taking care of things while we took a whirlwind trip to get away on a Holiday week. I always say-you can't put a price tag on peace of mind but it's even better when that price tag is affordable and not breaking the bank for quality care! The price is extremely reasonable for the quality of care you get here. I'll never use anyone else and I can't recommend them enough! Seriously. Look no further!

Since he was little Mufasa has always had the same dog nanny to walk and play with him every weekday afternoon. My husband and I work long hours out of the house and believe allowing an animal to stay alone is unhealthy emotionally and physically for them. When we relocated from North Austin to South Austin, which is like moving to another city in most Austinities minds, we left behind Mufasa's dog nanny. THREE pet sitters later, all of who are on YELP, we found Capcity Pet Sitting. Capcity Pet Sitting has been a blessing to my peace of mind. I can tell when a person doesn't have the time to really put into caring for a dog and when a company is just in it for the transactional benefit. Will and Claire ENJOY taking care of our Mufasa and it shows in his attitude at the end of the day. Will and Claire always keep me updated on how the day went and any new behaviors I need to be aware of or keep an eye on. Mufasa is always played out by the time we get home and I know he's enjoyed his visit with Will and Claire. I hope we have the privilege of working with Capcity Pet Sitting for many years to come. When Cancer Results Go Missing: Our Experience at Sunset Canyon Veterinary Clinic…read more When our dog's cancer biopsy results sat undelivered for three months at Sunset Canyon Veterinary Clinic, we learned the difference between a medical error and system failure that puts pets at risk. Our dog Maddie's biopsy revealed aggressive malignant melanoma with a mitotic count of 3--a diagnosis requiring immediate action. We discovered this critical information only by accident during an unrelated appointment three months later. The clinic's explanation: they had been calling the wrong phone number. What Went Wrong: The communication breakdown had serious medical consequences. Maddie lost the opportunity for immediate surgical revision to obtain wider margins, which significantly reduces recurrence risk. Her melanoma vaccine protocol (Oncept) was delayed by over three months. Most importantly, we were denied the chance to make timely treatment decisions during the most critical window. While Sunset Canyon claims they attempted contact and left voicemails, they were calling an incorrect number. During this same period, my wife called the clinic twice, leaving voicemails that included her correct phone number. She never received a return call. No email was sent. No letter was mailed. The results simply sat in their system until we happened to bring Maddie in for another issue. The Response That Revealed More: After discovering this failure, I expected accountability. Instead, I encountered indifference. No management team member contacted us proactively. When I finally reached Carlos, the office manager, after multiple attempts, he was unaware of what had happened--suggesting no internal review had occurred after such a significant oversight. I requested a written explanation of the incident and their plan to prevent future occurrences. Carlos said he would forward this to ownership. They never responded. The Bigger Picture: Medical mistakes happen, but how organizations respond reveals their priorities. A veterinary clinic should have protocols ensuring families receive cancer diagnoses--confirmation calls, certified mail, multiple contact attempts. When those systems fail, leadership should acknowledge the error and demonstrate corrective action. According to public records, Sunset Canyon was acquired by Southern Veterinary Partners in June 2020, meaning reviews prior to that date may not reflect current operations or management philosophy. I can't prove that the clinic is now run by a mission of profit over pets and people, but you can let this incident stand as Exhibit A. What Pet Owners Should Know: Before choosing any veterinary clinic, ask about their communication protocols for critical diagnoses. How do they confirm you received important results? What backup systems exist when the primary contact fails? Your pet's life may depend on these seemingly mundane procedures. Maddie's care was compromised not by a single mistake, but by a system that failed at multiple points and showed no urgency to improve. Three months of her life--time we can never get back, time when cancer cells were potentially spreading--lost to a clinic that couldn't be bothered to verify a phone number or return a call. Our dog Maddie doesn't know her prognosis may have worsened because of the clinic's negligence. She doesn't understand why her family spent sleepless nights wondering what might have been different if we'd known sooner. She just trusts us to protect her, the same way your pet trusts you. Don't let your pet's life depend on a system that treats cancer diagnoses as routine paperwork. They deserve better. You deserve better. And the next family walking through those doors deserves better, too.

There's obviously more to it than just grunting so make you're appointment with this company!!! My dogs are happier dogs! My dogs don't have anxiety and IIIIIIIIII don't have anxiety. I can enjoy my dogs now! It's crazy. It's totally working! No treat or punish training. My Cooper is not fear barking and lunging at people and my other dog Hunny isn't separation anxiety barking outside when she can't see me. It took one water spray and a grunt before she came inside; I closed the door again and she quietly, patiently waited to come in until I let her. Some dogs are a little more stubborn (cooper has been surprisingly) but it's working. Hunny fell in line immediately. My dogs aren't CRAZY! Amanda and I are working on leash training in 2 weeks.
