Jake had a spa day today at Bark Avenue. At first he was petrified, Kept thinking he could never get thru without MOM by his side But then he spent so many hours thinking she did nothing wrong he got strong. he learned to get along Now MOM is back from who knows what space She just walked in to find me here with a happy look upon my face I should have trusted her, she would never leave me be she would come back for me, she came back for me Seriously, Jake had some major anxiety prior to entering the big pink door. Two of us had to coax (ok carry) him in, but as soon as he got in he was tail wagging and kissing, and loving on the staff. The staff were so patient and kind in helping me get this 75 lb bundle of love out of the car and through the pink door!! Now i won't be sweeping fur off the floor several times a day. This is our go to spot after trying so many other groomers in the area. Zeus has high anxiety and they work so well with him. The cut always looks perfect! When we pick him up he always seems very happy and well cared for! The prices are also super competitive! Highly recommend!

Update Review for Bark Avenue: I am retracting my 5 star review, after our most recent experience I can only give 2. We dropped our dog off at 9:15 AM for grooming, and after 10 hours with no updates, we finally got a call at 6:45 PM saying our dog was ready. When I asked why it took so long, I was told there were "other dogs ahead of ours." That explanation might be understandable once--but failing to call, not answering the phone, and offering no discount for such a huge inconvenience is simply poor customer service. When I asked the manager how they planned to keep our business, I was told they "hoped we understood their out-of-control schedule." That's not an answer. Every client should feel that their dog--and their time--matters, not that the company's mismanagement takes priority. Yes, the grooming itself was great. But customer service is more than the end result--it's about communication, respect, and accountability. Charging $165 without acknowledging the disruption is unacceptable. Bark Avenue may know how to care for dogs, but they also need to learn how to care for customers.

My dogs where dropped off at 8:55 am and I showed up at 3:00 PM because I hadn't gotten a call thinking they didn't have my number or something . I was told they hadn't even started working on my two dogs but they where about to in a little bit because they where backed up . So I call at 5:22 to see how much longer being that they close at 5:30 and was told they where still backed up and hadn't started on my dogs yet and also they would be done in a while . Ok so I don't care what the excuse is ,I have no clue if the dogs are in cages with water or have been able to use the restroom outside their cages for at least 8 1/2 ho I've avoided places like PetSmart foe this same reason . They say oh your pets just fine we have water and we walk them when in fact they don't leave their cage for like 6 hours straight and don't have water bowls either . Even with water sitting in a cage waiting to be groomed from basically 9:00 am to past 5:30 is insane . At this point I'm within reason of being upset to a certain degree . I get they are behind maybe lack help or whatever but damn if you had too many cuts lined up for one day all you had to say was sorry we are booked and left it at that . I appreciate taking my dogs in but don't understand how a small poodle and Shih Tzu take 9 hours to get groomed . Even with doing one dog an hour which i doubt is the case you'd had to have had 15-18 dogs or more all before them if you had two groomers at the least . Even if you had only 12 dogs before them that's way to much do offer to cut in the time you guys open and close . If it's not then why is taking so long? read more

I've been taking my two Yorkies to Bark Avenue for over five years now, and I can't say enough great things about this team! From day one, they've treated my pups like family--with patience, love, and the kind of care that gives me total peace of mind. My Yorkies can be a bit particular (as Yorkies often are!), but the groomers here know exactly how to handle them with gentleness and professionalism. Jake had a spa day today at Bark Avenue. Brandi has been grooming professionally for 21 years, owning her own business for the last 12 years serving Austin as a mobile groomer. Brandi also shows her own dogs as a hobby throughout the US. Brandi has taken courses on canine and feline psychology and classes with some of the top individuals in the country for dog training and handing.

He's a big guardian-breed/ GSD mix and he came in with significant matting, so we were apprehensive initially. Adrian was great the entire time. Incredibly professional, super informative, and very patient. He cared just as much about Rom not being stressed as he did about the grooming itself. He let me know about an area of concern so that we could get it checked out as well as gave his honest opinion about specific questions I had which was a big deal to me. The thing I appreciated most is that his advice fit Rom's life. Rom's a farm dog, not an indoor dog, and Adrian got that and tailored his advice and care to it. During our most recent visit, my dog was handled by Milani, and unfortunately my small, older Chihuahua came home with a bleeding, shaved paw after her nail trim. This has never happened before, and it was very upsetting to see. What concerned me even more was the lack of acknowledgment in the moment, there was no apology, only an offer of gauze to clean the bleeding. I trust this clinic overall and will continue coming here, but I would strongly prefer that my dog is not scheduled with this technician in the future. My hope is simply for more careful handling, especially with smaller, older dogs who need extra gentleness.

Went in to see Dr. Douglas who felt it was scar tissue from an injury. Sent us home with an anti inflammatory and antibiotics. 14 days after the meds were gone, we called and advised the mass had not shrunk. We came in and paid for a biopsy but the vet could not get one. We were told it was scar tissue from an unknown injury and nothing to worry about. $500 total with no biopsy. We since got a second opinion, and the dog has Cancer. When we followed up with Dr, Douglas, the receptionist said the surgeon who is there once a week was indeed concerned after relooking at the picture. There were lots of mixed signals and we could have lost our dog. We would not return to this Dr.

I waited much less than the 30-60 minutes I was told I might have to wait, and Olive was given prompt and thorough care. Her wound was cleaned and clipped around, and I was sent home with antibiotics and anti-inflammatories for her to take. I appreciated being told up front how much the visit was going to cost, and am happy with the care she received. I would definitely go here again if the need arose. It was late in the evening so we searched online for who was open and Thrive Pet Healthcare came up (for context, it was about 8 PM and they closed at 10 PM). Before we went in, we called and the receptionist was super helpful. She gave us an overview of what to expect and an accurate estimation on wait time. We hopped in the car and went to Thrive. We checked in and immediately were placed in a room and helped within 30 minutes. Great service, but they definitely capitalize on worried pet parents. My dog is fairly difficult and so as I predicted, would need to be sedated so they could get a good look at his paw. They then came back to say there was nothing stuck in the paw, but they did recommend an X-Ray to check for bone cancer and other tears. This was very excessive, but certainly in the moment I agreed. I just wanted my pup to feel better. Hindsight is 20/20, looking back I would have held off on the X-Ray and given my pup a few days to heal. They of course came back after the X-Ray and nothing was wrong. All in all, great service but let's not call this "affordable." My pup was walking fine the next day and I paid over $600 for peace of mind. If you're having an emergency and they are open, might be worth a shot but inquire about pricing of every single test they want to run. I went here purely due to convenience and I suppose that is what I paid for. Moving forward, I will continue to go to PAZ for all my pets needs. Definitely worth it if you're in a pickle and pricing is not a factor to you.

My little dog got cuts on his ears and belly during grooming. Bleeding ears and belly. Dropped him off at 7:40 AM and he was ready at 5:10PM. 9 1/2 hours at Bark Avenue. He is a tinny sweet dog. He got completely shaved, including his tail. Looked distressed and crying when I picked him up. He has been sad and shivering for 2 days, not eating, not playing, definitely not acting like himself. The groomer apologized and said it was because he was very matted, which was true, so basically it is my fault. They told us at drop off he was matted and probably needed a shorter. But NEVER called me during the day to let me know how bad things were going. I called them around 4PM because I had a feeling something was wrong with my dog and It was taking too long. They didn't say ANYTHING. All they said was my dog was the last one they had to work on, and would take them about 1 more hour. I usually never leave reviews, but after what happened to him I decided to read other reviews and noticed we are not the first ones to have a bad experience at Bark Avenue. Funny how they replied to the other reviews blaming the dog owners for letting the dogs get matted. Easier to blame the dog owner, or the dog's type of skin, or whatever reason/excuse they can give. Yeah, it happens! I don't think everybody is able be taking their dogs to get groomed frequently during a pandemic. But it is what it is. Business are hurting for everyone. Very sad the pets have to pay for it. After this trauma I can not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Our four legged babies have been going to Grooms by Leah for ages....in fact over 6 years now. Even though we moved further away and have many groomers by us that come highly recommended, I won't leave Grooms By Leah. We had a skunk take out our two dogs and it was HORRIBLE to have a skunk spray your relentless dog. Most dogs would run, I would think, but not ours. Our smaller dog did run away but was "perfumed". The big dog was well dosed by the skunk (well dosed is an understatement too) and they took us in late on a Saturday night and worked on our dogs for over 2 hours. We are so appreciative of their services and thankful to have such a GREAT, FANTASTIC GROOMER. To the negative review I saw which leads me to my review since I am not good at posting anything (positive or negative), sorry you had a rough experience...don't go back because then there is more room for my babies and other appreciative customers babies. I would add in a tons of other stars too if I could. Thank you Grooms by Leah! I had my two babies groomed today by Robin. She did a great job. My lab/golden mix has a lot of fly aways that can get matted, Robin trimmed them all and also provided a condition treatment to help with shedding, which left his coat shiny and soft. The pictures of our lab probably don't do justice, but I can't get him to sit still long enough for pictures. Our maltipoo was groomed as well, and Robin did the perfect job with his cut. I'm very particular about how they trim the hair around his head, as a lot of groomers tend to do a more rounded cut that I feel makes him look like he has a helmet head.. (a bit too poodle for me). I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did exactly what I described I liked on him. Office staff seems very friendly and I overall feel like this is truly a place I can trust to leave my babies at! My lab has separation issues and can get very scared when away from us if his "brother" isn't there.. they made certain to keep them together throughout the entire process and I really appreciated that. All in all I give this place 5 stars and we will definitely be returning! read more

We just moved to Leander and it was time for our dogs to have a bath and nail trim. We had been with our previous groomer in Denver for a few years, so I wasn't thrilled about having to find and get comfortable with a new place to take care of our fur-babies. The folks here are very friendly and got us in within a few days after calling. I have two black lab mixes, one with sensitive skin and one with dew claws. Lucky came back after having the medicated oatmeal bath and looks and feels great. No allergic reaction! We're waiting to pick up the second dog, Frankie, today, and I'm sure he will be just as clean and refreshed as Lucky was! Definitely coming back to Grooms by Leah again! read more

This place is awesome. I have two chihuahua mix brothers. One of them was injured by a groomer pretty badly. Sarah and the folks at Grooms by Leah were great. They take extra time and give a lot of love. She has them out in the yard in back playing with them. Sent me a pic of them and gave me an update. Ms Robin and the staff are loving folks. You can tell they love the dogs. My dog is still dealing with PTSD from a prior experience but I picked them up and they were not stressed. I took my wheaten terrier and mini schnauzer here for the first time and was very happy with the grooming. I usually have such low expectations for my wheaten because of the number of bad haircuts he has had. After Robin worked on my pups they looked the best they ever had! Robin was so patient and such a perfectionist which was so refreshing from my other experiences. She even followed up with a call to make sure I was satisfied. Crystal and her mobile skills are incredible! She is so kind, knowledgeable, and caring toward my two little pups Durango and Denali. They are so happy after their cuts and prance around the house for days with happy dog energy. haha. If you live near Circle C - Totally recommend Crystal. My vet was insisting on giving my 15 year old female cat sedatives before trimming nails or a sanitary trim. My poor Kitty needed the grooming on a regular basis to keep her from getting urinary tract infections. I am so thankful I found Bark Avenue for her. My cat loves Kristi and lets her groom her with no drugs needed. Kristi does a beautiful job and my Himalayan Kitty is still beautiful after she finishes. We own a very large Great Pyrenees dog. We have tried 4 different groomers and we not satisfied with any of them. Decided to give Grooms by Leach a try after reading yelp reviews. WOW!!! When I picked our dog up I was so pleased. He looked the BEST he has every looked. They did a fantastic job. Usually when I our dog comes home from groomer he is all stressed out and lays around for hours. This time our dog was happy and not stressed. I would highly recommend Grooms by Leah. I've been taking my miniature schnauzer to them for the last 8 months or so. He received his third grooming from them yesterday by Robin and she was AWESOME!! The previous two grooms were pretty good but Robin did EXACTLY what I wanted her to and paid close attention to detail, including making sure he was trimmed really close in all the little crevices on his li'l legs. I highly recommend them as well for their organization and efficient processing of their clients and great customer service. read more

Robin was so attentive and thoughtful to our two cockers. Kenzie and Freckles are precious to us and she treated them like family. Kenzie is our little handicapped angel and she made sure he had a blanket and pillow for them to lay on. The boys turned out beautiful. Arfordable Grooms is absolutely wonderful. My little 6.5 llb teacup poodle has been there 4 times now and every time comes home beautiful. All aspects of grooming are done to perfection. The shop is clean, the groomers are genuinely loving to the dogs and my guy comes home without his usual trembling and upset. We have been taking our Westies (Miracle, Maverick & Misty) to Jeff for several years now and are always 100% satisfied. They treat them with tender loving care and our puppies look so amazing when they are done! Jeff really helped us out recently when he offered advice to change our dogs drinking water from tap to distilled since our puppies had horrible rust stains around their eyes and mouths - and it's worked! We have been using and recommending Kristi for over three years now. Kristi is by far the best groomer that we have used on our dog. Our dog is always happy to see her and comes back looking and feeling great! Each time she has groomed her the facility has been very clean. Often, I see other staff members cleaning as I am picking up or dropping off. You can see that all the staff truly loves animals. I can not imagine taking my litttle dog anywhere else! read more

After working with this groomer for two years. a groomer cut my dogs eye, never told us about once I got my dog home his third eye came out and had to go to the hospital. i phoned the groomer 4 times with no return call. When I went to the owner directly she refused to talk with me and would only text so she could have everything in writing. $2300.00 later and four weeks later my dog was healed.
