Reason for this review: There's obviously a lot of trust involved in letting people take care of your pets and access your home. We have 100% confidence in Melissa and her team and want to share our experience because - when we were looking for long-term pet sitting - we didn't have any recommendations to help us. Five-star details: 1. Outstanding Communications. Melissa is always available, including by phone, text, and email. She does what she says she is going to do. We've spoken on the phone & Melissa has a great app which gives you updates and photos of your pet! 2. Genuine Caring. On our most recent trip, the weather got cold. Melissa's team members worked with us to turn on our well heater, ensure our pup was kept warm and cozy, and gave us detailed updates and photos. 3. Going Above & Beyond. Melissa called me about the cold weather to alert us in case we didn't know it was going to be below freezing and to ensure our pet was fully taken care of. Her team actually plays with your pet, spends real quality time, and ensures your pet feels loved. They brought our dog extra treats which was incredibly thoughtful because our dog is a senior citizen - and they actually know about dogs so they brought treats that are great for his health as well as being yummy!

My husband and I generally allow our dogs' lives to manage ours, so when I say that I am reasonably…read moresure my dogs were disappointed when we returned from our vacation and Alicia wasn't coming back anymore, it means a lot. Whether taking our dogs (all four!) for a walk to the park before the sun was too warm (this is June so we're talking 7-ish am), letting everyone sleep with her (she does very affordable overnight stays), snuggling with the kids while hanging out (she stayed in our pull out ikea bed which sucks so that all the dogs could sleep with her even thouh we offered her our bedroom with a more comfy bed), or doing backyard agility with our corgi mix (our corgi mix loves agility), Alicia made sure that our pets had great fun and lived the high life while we were on vacation. I felt so comfortable leaving everyone in her hands that didn't worry about them at all, which is very atypical for me. She kept us apprised with daily updates and photos of the kids enjoying themselves. She also kept a journal of all their daily activities for us when we got home! She took great care of our house as well; our birdfeeders, plants and general homestead. When we came back home, our house was cleaner than when we'd left it! I know this is not typically part of a petsitters service but it is so nice to come home from vacation to everything nice and tidy! For her A+ quality of customer service and clear devotion to and experience working with dogs, I can't recommend Alicia enough.

Since moving to a regular 9-5 non-business owner, I wanted pet care for our dogs during the day. I also wanted in-home pet sitting and overnight care for our dogs so as not to disrupt their routine of having us in the home. I love, love, love Susan and Dan (the owners) and their entire scheduling staff as well as their "Pet Gals and Pet Guys". When our baby was due, Susan and the entire Pet Gal team went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help us plan for her arrival. There is nothing like feeling relieved that your home and pets will be well taken care of during one of the biggest life events. They really did go way above and beyond for us, adjusting to an ever changing situation as well as helping to make sure we had coverage in case something didn't go to plan. They even sent us a wonderful, thoughtful welcome home gift when we arrived home with our new human addition. I can't say enough good things about this company. Our favorite sitters are Jason and Claudia - my dogs LOVE them. They also leave the most wonderful updates and our home is always left better than when we left it. Pre-pandemic we counted on them to care for our pets during the day, and post-vaccine, they are able to care for them during travel time. The Pet Gal team members are all properly insured, trained, and you can trust them to show up, no matter what. You may not get the same sitter each time, but you will get the same care and attention each time. I am so thankful we're clients of The Pet Gal - they are truly a wonderful company.
