"Dank Pet Sitting and More", is a cage free pet lodging environment. The owners, Doug and Kitt are amazing with pets. Our pug "Max", absolutely loves it there. He gets all worked up even when we're just a mile away. Like he can sense a fun time. Doug and Kitt are extremely patient and very pet loving care providers. Our fur buddy is very needy for attention and Doug doesn't seem to mind. Their rates are more than fare and they also provide in-home pet services. Thank you Doug and Kitt for caring for Max. We feel very comfortable knowing he's in your hands. Michael C. - Georgetown, Tx. read more

My dog had a great time there and we will Definitely use them again. They sent me a picture of him while I was gone but didn't overload me with details every day. A great experience all around! read more

Used this home service for the first time & it was a good fit for our dog. They sent pictures of our dog, Hank, while we were away & he was hanging out with the other dogs & sitting on the owners lap. They are very reasonable. I will use them again. read more

I highly recommend Doug Sourbeer with DandK Pet Sitting! Doug is so good with our two dogs, and we never worry about them when they're in his care. read more

I think I've reviewed Dank before, yet this business is worthy of another 5-star review. Doug and Kit do much more than simply give my two pups a wonderful home in which to stay when I travel. They are animal whisperers! The proof comes directly from my pups themselves. When I take them there, they run to the front door and eagerly await its opening. They are so happy to see the Danks. And when I pick them up, while they're very excited to see me, they're not really eager to leave. Finally, and most telling, when we are all back home, they behave in a more contented and polite manner than they did before I left them with Doug and Kit. Wow! I am VERY GRATEFUL for Dank Pet Sitting. read more

Doug took care of our dog Cruzer while we were on vacation a little over two weeks. What is so nice is that Doug takes care of your pet out of his own home - so there is a living room, kitchen and backyard. He doesn't take that many pets in parallel so he takes good care of your pet and gave our dog plenty of attention. I could tell Cruzer had a good time because when my husband picked him up he was a bit uncertain and went over to Doug, a sign that they really bonded. Cruzer also came back healthy with a few more needed pounds on him. read more

We found DandK Pet Sitting through Yelp and we can testify that all their 5 Star reviews are 100% accurate! This is the first time we used a professional pet sitter and I am so lucky we found DandK!! DandK is very professional, reasonably priced, organized, experienced, flexible, and extremely reliable. DandK love animals and it shows through all the details they take in caring for our pets. In the initial visit, DandK took detailed notes and asked a lot of great questions regarding our pet's needs (meal times, administering medication, restroom breaks, etc). Doug did a wonderful job caring for our two large dogs at our home. We arranged for Doug to check-in on our dogs several times each day. Doug sent us wonderful text messages on how our dogs were doing. It was very reassuring to know that our dogs were enjoying play time with Doug and that they were doing great while we were away. It was also comforting to know that if we were running late on our arrival home, Doug offered to visit and check on the doggies (even though we didn't schedule an extra visit). Such a kind gesture! When we arrived home from our trip, DandK Pet Sitting left a thoughtful card to welcome us home and a delicious homemade treat. We are so glad we found DandK Pet Sitters and have told all our family, friends, and neighbors about them. DandK Pet Sitting will be our go to sitters for our pets! They are the best and they will care for your pets like they are part of their family! Doug and Kitty, thank you so much for loving our doggies!!! We can't wait to see you again! read more

Doug and Kitty were absolutely incredible! We were visiting San Francisco with our 3 dogs and they were happy to take them in for a day and a half. Their pricing is very reasonable and they kept us updated with texts and pictures of our kids when we were away. They have a nice home with a large yard for plenty of playing. Our dogs loved it there and Garu and the gang were even upset that we left their newly made friends so soon! I would highly recommend http://dankpetsitting.com/ to anyone needing pet sitting. Our dogs felt at home there really fast and it sure beats the kennel and those so called dogie playgrounds. This is more of a home setting that made them feel comfortable fast. I am sure your pets will enjoy their hospitality and kindness. Five stars all the way! THANKS!!! read more

The rating says it all ... As Good As It Gets! We booked them about a month in advance of our trip back East, both Doug and Kitt showed up for the initial home visit to get to know our two pugs :D ... they are bonded and insured, a must for letting someone into your home! Then about a week before our trip Doug came back for a follow-up to make sure he knew our dogs habits and where everything is in our house - kudos! During our trip he sent both my wife and I pictures of our two pugs everyday, taking them on a walk to the local dog park, a break during the day and another long break at night. If you can ... book them now!! They are a great pair and really connect with your pets ... our dogs were safe and at home with no travel stress. What really impressed me was when we walked in the door from the airport, the dogs did not seem like they had been locked up forever ... They are the best with very reasonable rates ... we will be using them again during our time in Morgan Hill! read more

Doug and Kitty are awesome! We've left our 4-legged family member with them many times, including a time where we needed an extended stay. Their definition of customer service is what we needed when we were in a jam. They are very caring, including the feeling that your pet will be treated like family. They keep you up to date and are very open to special requests. We've used other pet boarding services in town, and DanK is BY FAR the best. We no longer worry about leaving our pup with DanK Pet sitting! read more

This past weekend, we decided to go on a last minute trip and we were looking at pet boarding facilities. Then my wife had the idea for us to call a few pet sitters. I called Doug and he checked his schedule and agreed to take on pet sitting our dogs at the last minute despite having a full schedule. We met them the night before we left, and they are wonderful people. We are so glad that we found them online and arranged for them to pet sit. If we ever need pet sitters, we will definitely be calling them again. Thank you Doug and Kit! read more

This team is awesome is so many ways. The sitters are very friendly and warm people. They do not treat the animals as "just another business transaction." They really establish a relationship with the pets. For example, every day that I was away, I got a text message with a photo and an short update of our cats. In the pre-sitting interview, the team asked a lot of questions - you can really tell that these folks take the animals seriously and hold accountability to what they are doing. This team also provided additional personal services while we were away. They helped to take care of our indoor plants and ensured that the outside fountain had water. Thy even took care of the mail. The litter box area was spotless - you can tell that they not only cleaned the litter box but they ensured that the area was clean. When we got home, we got a thank you card and a bag of cookies on the kitchen counter. These nice personal touches really make a difference. Finally, when we got the key back, the owner asked for feedback. This is truly an A team and I am going to use them again this summer. Kitties' mom read more

My little Leo stayed with Dan and Kit for 10 days while we took a road trip. When we came back home to pick him up he looked and acted just like the Leo we dropped off! Initially, he didn't want to come with my husband, but once he saw our daughters, he jumped right into the car! He looked and smelled like he had a bath and had maybe even dropped the few pounds of extra puppy fluff he was holding on to. I love this place and have no problem leaving Leo here when need be! read more

I have a German Shepherd who is now 6. I was referred to Doug and Kit about 3 years ago...or maybe 4...and have used them ever since. They are hands down the best pet sitters around. My dog is excited to go to their home. When I pick her up she is happy and healthy. Even after two or three weeks (summer vacation for me!) my pup has no weight loss, no runny stools from stress, or any other health problem. They feed her the same food I buy - good quality - no grain filler. Note: I live in Santa Cruz. I drive 37 miles to Doug and Kit's. Why? Because I love my dog and want her to be with someone I completely trust will care for her properly. One other thing: I agree with the previous reviewer - every dog owner should have a Personal Liabilty Umbrella Policy. If you don't know what this is, contact your insurance agent. All dogs, big, small, young, old, no matter the breed, can unpredictable and bite. There are about 1/2 million dog bite injuries every year in th U.S. that require emergency treatment, and many others that go unreported. Dogs are legally considered property and owners are liable for the dogs actions. read more

I felt compelled to write an update after a month to try and cool off. I stand by my review and the events of the day. I took her to another home boarding facility and the owner is also a trainer, she told me that Pepsi was well behaved and was a pleasure to have in her home. No scratching at doors or jumping (except upon my return), no issues...she is welcome back anytime! She also confirmed that most dogs have some kind of apprehension especially when left somewhere for the first time. Also confirmed jumping is standard when the owner returns. I feel that speaks for itself. Also, I think it was unprofessional to post the emails between the 2 of us, however it just proved his lack of communication with me after how upset I was. A mindful business owner would have apologized with a phone call that night (even if he felt strongly that he was in the right, the customer is always right.....he didn't even try to "fake" any concern!) And....I don't own a retractable leash. She was on her normal 4 ft leash when I picked her up and she was about 4+ feet from the curb and in no danger of traffic....yet she was pulled up in the air with force. From the moment I dropped her off, it was clear that I was nervous and needed reassurance and kindness. Nothing should have been said to me in "jest". The other woman who cared for Pepsi for 8 days showed me the kindness and care that I was searching for, text message updates and photos. She's obviously had more experience with dogs and people than DanK. I wish them the best of luck in the future and hope there was a lesson learned from this situation. read more

Would give 10 STARS if we could!!! We are absolutely blown away at the level of customer service Doug & Kit provided for our babies while we went on a cruise for 10 days on our honeymoon. We have NEVER left our 2 cats & 2 dogs before for any trip. They came to our home several times and called to make sure they were clear on all of our details prior to our departure. Ok...Obsessive details. They texted us pictures of our animals to assure they were having fun. Fed them EXACTLY as requested. They also house sat for us. The house was immaculate upon our arrival. Mail was collected, Lights were on since we were coming in late & to top it off, they left us beautiful soup in the fridge! We will NOT be looking further for a house / pet sitter. Yelp is an awesome tool to help locate real professionals such as DanK Pet Sitting. Check them out! www.dankpetsitting.com Sincerely, Stephanie & Roger Sharp read more

This was my first time ever using a dog sitter and I was very nervous at first. After meeting Doug and Kitty, I was immediately put at ease. Thank you Yelpers! All the 5 stars are spot on! We called Doug & Kitty with not only asking if they could take care of our Fox Terrier for the 1st time.. But also we needed help getting her to a wedding that she was part of ... And then picking her up afterwords! They did not even blink a eye at this crazy doggie limo request! They said sure! We left their home that day knowing we had met the perfect Team.. And when the day came they had her there on time and helped even getting her in her tux..and was right there for pick up... They also sent pics during the evening letting us know she was ok and in good hands ;) Normally we have family members help us pet sit.. For sure though now our daughter has a new overnight home! Just can't say enough here how happy we are that we found them! You will have no 2nd thoughts when you leave your 4 legged family member here! read more

Doug is like a member of our family. I was referred by my Mom who has used him for years. He's punctual, reliable and our pets love him. We were so lucky to find Doug and have him stay in our home and care for our animals. Not only did he do everything we asked but he went above and beyond in so many ways. He handled a tough situation requiring unexpected trips to the vet, wound care, and medicine administration not only in a professional manner but as though these were his own pets. He was so reassuring to us that we were able to enjoy our vacation knowing that he was taking excellent care of our pets. We got daily updates and pictures. When we got home we found so many extra things Doug had done (took out garbage can on garbage day, fixed our broken fence, checked on our pets an extra time the day we came home because he knew we were delayed!). Any family would be so fortunate to have Doug in charge of their home and pets while they are away. read more

I have been taking my cat here for the past two years and he loves it. After years of searching for a decent place to board my cat I was amazed to discover that this is a CAGE FREE boarding establishment. As soon as I read about this place here on Yelp and saw photos of their lovely, clean home I called them immediately. The owners Doug and Kit are amazing. While your pet is there they periodically send photos and texts letting you know how they are doing. No matter how busy they are if you text they will respond. I don't know how they do it but they keep all the pets equally happy during their stay. I highly recommend this place! As an added bonus their prices are reasonable as well! Thank you Doug & Kit! read more

Doug and Kit were more than great. They went the extra mile to take care of our kitties, garden, and lawn while we were on vacation. I am never comfortable trusting my home to strangers when I'm away, but they were awesome. They texted with photos and remarks at each visit, assuring us the kitties were okay! I will use them forever! read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about DanK Pet Sitting! We have two greyhounds and are very particular about who we trust them with given their unusual traits and needs - like having a very strong small prey drive and needing to avoid bloat to name just a couple. Doug and Kit paid meticulous attention to the information we shared with them and kept up our usual routine while we were gone for a long weekend. This included Doug spending the night at our house. The text messages and photos that Doug sent were so reassuring -- I had no doubt my girls were receiving the best care possible. When we returned home the hounds were happy to see us, but there was no desperation attached, know what I mean? Another very telling sign that they were well-loved in our absence. Like others have mentioned, in addition to coming home to our well cared for fur babies, there was a custom thank you card featuring pictures of our girls and very heartfelt thank you message, a bottle of wine, bread and cheese. This is a very thoughtful touch! I highly recommend them to everyone. You will be more than delighted with their services! I know I will use them in the future. read more

We have a 7 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback and Doug has been walking him since he was a tiny little puppy. Doug has been amazingly accommodating with our busy and changing schedules and has still always been able to walk Kai. Unfortunately we're moving back east, so today was Kai's last walk with Doug. I'm sure he's going to miss him, but I just want to say that Doug has been amazing with him and I couldn't recommend him more. He will treat your pet just like his own. Thanks Doug!! read more

I was very pleased with Doug and Kitty when it came to looking after my little Frenchton, Luna! Where do I begin. Doug is just awesome!!! We have used this company for over 2 years. We rescued a boxer pup when he was just 9 months old. We had never been dog owners but knew this energetic goofball named Zeus belonged in our lives. First things first we needed a reliable dog walker because we work full time and commute. I found Dank on Yelp. I called and he came out to our house to meet Zeus right away. Now, having read the only one star review on Dank I must add that I OWN A BOXER and a pup at that. My dog JUMPS and he jumps on everyone! Doug made no mention of his jumping but clearly saw my husband and I were making a huge effort to teach Zeus not to jump...on anyone...even family. Btw he is right every dog owner with a jumpy/harder to train dog should have an umbrella insurance policy to protect them from lawsuits. Back to my review. Zeus was so excited to see Doug every day. It was obvious to us our pup loved Doug and he loved him in return. Our precious goofball was a bit stubborn for mom and dad but obeyed Doug diligently so we asked Doug to help us train our energizer bunny. He took Zeus for a few weeks every day for training and then ended with a meeting at our home with some simple commands and showed us how to be more assertive with our male boxer. Zeus showed immediate improvement but we also knew age had a lot to do with his temperament. He needed to mature a bit. We have boarded Zeus with Doug for over two years when we leave on trips big and small. We have never had any issues or concerns. He is very well taken care of and loved. He is great with communicating through text to check in on your pets. Doug and his wife are like Zeus' godparents :) it is clear he knows what he's doing with pets (and their owners). read more

We used Dank again when we went on our 2 week long vacation this year. They were great as usual to our 4 kitties. So nothing new there, we expected that since they have been there for us for almost 10 years. But this time our pipes decided to burst in the ceiling above the kitchen. Kit found the leak and immediatly sprang into action and dried the laminate flooring, turned to water off to the house (not an easy task since the faucet was stripped) and put a bucket under the leak, saving our floor. Without them it could have been so much worse! We were already on our way home otherwise she would have started the process with the insurance company and the plummer. Dank did a caring and wonderful job for our two youngest "Children" and we won't think of using anyone else but them to care for our pets. They texted us that dogs were fine and they were treated to walks and lots of love. These are amazing people with a true love for animals. I highly recommend them and really 5 stars are not enough for Dank Pet Sitting. read more

Doug and Kitty run an amazing business! How many pet sitting/boarding businesses treat your pet as a member of their family? DanK absolutely does! They accept a limited number of dogs to be able to provide a quality experience for them. Not only do they give them run of their house and backyard (no runs, crates, or cages), but they take them on walks in the countryside as well. To top that off, they send text photos of your pet to you during walks. Our lab has NEVER braved the water to fetch anything, uncharacteristic for that breed. To our surprise, we received a photo of our lab in a lake fetching a stick. He's 9 years old and it goes to prove that you can teach an old dog new tricks, or at least Doug and Kitty can! They worked miracles and showed our dog so much wonderful attention and love. They even washed our dog's bedding because "other dogs had slept on it too." They're over-the-top wonderful! We for sure will be boarding him there again whenever we need to go out of town. Can't recommend them highly enough! read more
