Eye irritation from grooming
Hope L.

My sweet doggy has never had eye irritation after getting groomed (3 years old). Today she came out with her eye oozing, wet, and irritated as you see in the picture. She's been trying to rub her eye with her paws and is whining. I'm so sad for her and definitely not pleased with this happening. The groomer didn't even address it when he brought her to us. NEXT DAY UPDATE: I have to bring my dog to the vet today because her eve is oozing yellow material. Extremely frustrating at mud puppies and she will NEVER be going here again.

How can you not LOVE that smile! We typically use another groomer but we were looking for a spot that could take our dog in ASAP as we had pictures coming up and our dog looked liked a mess. I called Mud Puppies and they were able to take our pup the very next morning. We got her a wash, brush and nails for $40. I dropped her off in the AM and was ready for pickup a couple hours later. While our dog didn't saying anything bad or good, she looked fantastic and wasn't crying her eyes out when we picked her up so I consider that a win! Thankful that they were able to take her so quickly and we will have to give them a try when we are ready for the full cut in a few months...Also, the sloth bandana was a wonderful cherry on top.

My doodle Maggie was groomed by London. He did an outstanding job. I am very happy with the final result. Thank you!

Maggie my Goldendoodle was groomed by London. He did an amazing job. Since our arrival he was very attentive taking notes and showing me the length of the blades. Maggie looks stunning! Thank you! I already booked Maggies 7 weeks out for follow up.

I took my Shih Tzu to Mudd Puppies off of Palmer multiple times and was extremely pleased with the service. Unfortunately my last visit wasn't pleasant. My dog's left eye was accidentally scratched by the groomer's scissors. When I brought it up to the owner he made it very clear his groomer didn't do it. I contacted them the day after the grooming and informed them he was going to the vet due to his pain. No one took responsibility or discussed my concern. The owner made it clear he wasn't paying for anything. He wanted to speak to the vet to confirm that his eye was scratched. So, I was being questioned and the arrogance of the owner to resolve this situation wasn't acceptable. The vet was confused to why he needed to talk to her. There was visible proof. The vet was only going to discuss the diagnosis and treatment plan with me. This matter could had been resolved peacefully. A credit to doggie daycare or a portion off my next two visits. The vet bill was $235. Accidents happen but the way he questioned me was disappointing. I now have two dogs and they both go to daycare a couple days a week. Lost my grooming business, doggie daycare visits, and referrals. I want to support local business but not when I am treated like an option.

Lemon; larger dog in the back got a full groom and shaved down to remove a good amount of matted places on her legs and neck.

We take our maltipoo, lemon, to get a full groom at Mudpuppies on 620, about once every other month. They are Covid friendly. Ask for you to either wait in your car for pick up/drop off. You can call them once you're there and will grab the pup(s) from you. Their prices are standard and will vary depending on how much work the groomer has to do to clean up your pup. For my small maltipoo and a full groomed + haircut we pay about $70 after tip. Sometimes it's only $40 if it's just a groom with minimal trimming. Lemon is very hyper, and gets a lot of tangles in her hair. Our groomer,Claire, always treats lemon as if it were her own dog. She makes her comfortable, allows her to run around to get energy out, and always puts a pretty bandana on her when she's done. The grooming process can sometimes be a bit too long(5+ hours), and they put your pup in a kennel with a dryer so they get a blow out. That is one reason why i deducted a star. Not all dogs can handle that type of environment. My younger dog Tyson has anxiety and got sick when we brought him there for the first time. We have to use a mobile groomer for him! Otherwise, we love Mudpuppies and their passion for animals!

I have been bringing my pup to this location of Mud Puppies for nearly 5 years. Ever since he was a puppy Mud Puppies has been grooming him. I have no complaints. Kelly and Nick have always been upfront and helpful. Remy's groomer has been Tamera since he was 1 year old. I have boarded him here several times through the years and he enjoys playcare and grooming. I recommend Mud Puppies often to people I meet without hesitation. It will be a sad day when we move and have to take him somewhere else. I have greatly enjoyed their services!

When I adopted a ragamuffin heavily matted neglected pup. A beautiful cinderella story came home with me.

I started at MudPuppies years ago with a rowdy foster dog. They did a great job matching her in play groups. When my joints got bad they were kind to help me with an easy walk harness. After years of pibbles and boxers, my son picked out a ragamuffin mutt at the shelter. She was so neglected and matted I didn't know what to ask for or what to expect. I assumed she'd have to be shaved all the way down. They did a beautiful job cleaning her up. So much shine too! I've tried other places closer to home but I end up back here where the folks love what they do and do it well.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I take my dog to the Mud Puppies off of Mopac. My dog attends playcare about 20 days a month at their facility. This is a home-away-from-home for my dog to ensure she stays safe and is well cared for while I'm at work. The staff is so professional and truly care about my dog. The facility is clean and organized. My dog is happy when I drop her off and she is happy when I pick her up! They connected me with a trainer that trains my dog while in the facility. The staff follows the trainers directions to ensure the training is reenforced throughout the day. It's truly amazing how much they care. Their in house groomer is such a convenience for me! They are outstanding in every way! 10 stars!

I've been bringing my bby, a Mini Schnauzer, here for bath/grooming for last 2 years or so. We usually request the talented Ms. Claire. My bby comes home so fresh and clean, soft, and adorable! We have kept her long, or gone short for summer. Always have been happy with the result! The staff is friendly. My bby enjoys the trips. I can easily make appointments that fit my schedule within a week when I call. It does take a few hours after I drop her off, but I've never been anything less than in love with the result. Their prices are reasonable too! I recommend

Fresh from the salon

I was getting my dog groomed at a totally different salon but my stylist ended up leaving and I decided to follow her...that's what brought me to Mud Puppies! At my pup's prior salon, dogs roamed "free" aka weren't placed in kennels while waiting, or after they were done. You could also see the entire space when you entered. Mud Puppies on the other hand, is more of a "classic" salon where dogs are in kennels, and you can't see any of the action when you enter - just the front desk. I was hesitant about going to a salon like this since I was so used to a totally different method, but Mud Puppies is awesome!! The front desk ladies are super sweet, and there's always a pup behind it to greet you! You get a reminder call the day before your appointment (awesome!!) so you won't forget. There's some fun stuff you can buy for your pup in the front as well - treats, toys, etc. But time to rave about the most important part: my groomer Claire is AMAZING. She's the sweetest, and listens to me about the things I want for my pup. She makes sure to take the best care of him and gets him groomed in a timely manner (3 hours). My pup tends to get anxious and therefore really thirsty and Claire makes sure he has water in the kennel. My pup always comes home looking absolutely adorable!!! I highly recommend Mud Puppies. Great service and Claire is the best groomer ever! You dog will for sure be taken care of!!

We went to a couple of places, one even where you can watch on an app that was closer to us, but when we went to visit the place, we did not like the "vibe" of the place. When we took a tour (just call, and they will let you take a look at the facility before hand) of Paws Landing, we immediately felt great! We had our puppy for an half day "evaluation" with Durenda, which also made us feel at ease. She is marvelous!!! When we picked her up from that, she went over everything she did, and how she thought our puppy would do. They had her in a small yard first and let our puppy feel safe before they had her with the other dogs. I really like too, how they have the dogs separated into "small dogs", " large dogs" and "very active dogs". She has a great team working with her, watching over them, and most importantly taking care of them all day. They will always send you a text and email to confirm your reservation, which is great. They go inside and outside to play all day. If they go "all day" they will get a 2-hour rest, so they get a break from all the fun! But, believe me, when you pick your dog, they will be tired when they get home, which is "good thing"! Pam will send you pictures later via text of your dog, which is great to see at the end of the day. Now, that my dog has gone for awhile, she gets excited when we get there, and she is excited to see Pam and her team when I drop her off. Look no further for a great place for "doggy day care", Pam and her team will take VERY GOOD care of them, like they were one of their own!!!

The facility is spotlessly clean, which gives me total peace of mind when leaving my pet there. It's also in a super convenient location off US-183, easy to get to from Leander and surrounding areas. What really sets them apart is the 24-hour staffing--they provide round-the-clock care for boarded animals, so I never have to worry about my dog being alone overnight. We've used them for both daycare and overnight boarding multiple times, and it's been a fantastic experience every single time. I highly recommend Paws Landing for anyone looking for reliable, loving care for their furry family members!

Staff at other facilities were scared of him, and all I wanted was to help him adjust to people and the world around him. Then I found Happy Tails and spoke with the amazing manager Chris. After sharing my experience, he invited Orion in to assess his behavior, telling me that Orion most likely just needed to be playgroups to match his energy! They paired him with a staff dog, and Orion did great! While he barked at staff initially, they quickly saw he wasn't aggressive--just in need of reassurance and patience. Now, every time Orion boards or attends daycare, they match him with other high-energy pups, and he has the best time. The staff truly cares, and they've created a space where Orion can just be his goofy self. I'm so thankful for all of you--thank you for everything!

Along with the solicitation, you get to learn valuable lessons on how to train and prepare your dog to be the best pet around. What makes this place better than the rest is the property. After touring multiple day cares in Austin, you soon learn that they all give the dogs a box the size of a bedroom to try and get their energy out. HP takes it to the next level with a massive field with toys and obstacles that they can run until they're tired. Our pup would come back each week, and instantly pass out. One word of advice, if you have a dog like ours, be prepared for a bath when you get home, because they will come home dirty. This is definitely not the place if you are trying to keep your dog clean. That being said, it is worth the bath.

Ok so I don't care what the excuse is ,I have no clue if the dogs are in cages with water or have been able to use the restroom outside their cages for at least 8 1/2 ho I've avoided places like PetSmart foe this same reason . They say oh your pets just fine we have water and we walk them when in fact they don't leave their cage for like 6 hours straight and don't have water bowls either . Even with water sitting in a cage waiting to be groomed from basically 9:00 am to past 5:30 is insane . At this point I'm within reason of being upset to a certain degree . I get they are behind maybe lack help or whatever but damn if you had too many cuts lined up for one day all you had to say was sorry we are booked and left it at that . I appreciate taking my dogs in but don't understand how a small poodle and Shih Tzu take 9 hours to get groomed . Even with doing one dog an hour which i doubt is the case you'd had to have had 15-18 dogs or more all before them if you had two groomers at the least . Even if you had only 12 dogs before them that's way to much do offer to cut in the time you guys open and close . If it's not then why is taking so long?
