This is the place to get high quality dog and cat food locally. The product selections are more limited for cats but still has lots of food choices. I came in looking for cat toothpaste and it was all for dogs. So that's an uncommon product and they also didn't have cat harnesses. Aside from that, the staff is friendly and helpful and the store is well organized and clean. I brought a bunch of stuff over to donate. Tomlinson's collects donations and takes them to a few shelters accordingly. I've donated a bunch to APA and wanted to also donate to a smaller cat shelter. I really think this Tomlinson's is a great place for anyone to shop for their fur babies who allow you to live in their house. I don't buy heavy bulk items usually, but they do have curbside pickup where they will bring out your order for you which is great! The problem is the store itself. I go in for 1 item but stay for up to an hour slowly browsing. The other day I went in for stocking stuffers for Moose and Squirrel the Katz. Picked up some very special, different cans of wet cat food (hint, if it says tuna, flip over to look at ingredients and make sure the first ingredient listed is in fact tuna). I played with some of the toys to see how they worked so I could get an idea of how long they would last before being torn to shreds. Moose and Squirrel are big and can do some damage (our Christmas tree has to be tied to the wall in two places as we learned the hard way). I picked up some chicken feet as they like to chew on the toes and leave the feet in the pathways in the house for you to step on while barefoot at night :-( . I must say that every time I have been in the store the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. I always leave smiling. read more

Tomlinson's kept us going through the pandemic and continue to be a purveyor of all things canine and feline, including healthy food, treats, accessories and a plethora of pet care items. They still have their pet club membership, which for a small yearly fee allows you a discount on all food items. And they still offer curbside pickup and home delivery. This location has some really friendly and helpful employees who are eager to answer any questions and offer assistance. My dog loves tagging along with me, and they always offer her a treat. Tomlinson's has locations city-wide, Austin born and still going strong. They offer periodic events such as dental and vet visits and they support local rescues with food drives and adoption events. read more

I picked one toy for "heavy chewers" and thought it would probably last a few days before becoming a pile of chewed plastic on the carpet. That was 6 months ago and "pink donut" has now become our dog's favorite toy! She is never without it. It is indestructible! Very happy with my purchases sales lady was extremely knowledgable kind and even funny suggested for my dog who has a sensitive stomach to get goat milk which she pulled out of the refrigetator and boy he loves it. Tomlinson's new store in Circle C is my new favorite Pet Store! I stopped into their newest location this morning to pick up some puppy food for my new foster puppy who is recovering from parvo and does not want to eat dog food. When I walked in I was greeted by 2 different women. The first woman who helped me showed me around and asked me lots of questions about the puppy before offering me a bunch of samples. While she was bagging up enough free samples to feed the puppy his entire stay with us the second woman who greeted me answered all my questions about how long I could safely leave out wet puppy food (3 hours) and how long wet food could keep in the fridge (3-4 days) and made some suggestions on canned brands that had high protein and fat for the sicky poo pup. This locally owned Austin Pet Store has several locations that only sells holistic and raw and human grade pet foods for the most discriminated pet parents who only purchase the very best for their fur kids. All locations offer a $5 per year Pet Food Club that gets 10% all pet food which usually pays for itself in one purchase for me. The great thing about the brands that they carry is that most are "grain free, all life-stage diet" which makes it easy for me since when I bring home foster puppies or feeding Momma dogs they can eat the same food I feed my dog so I do not have to rush out and buy special food every time I get a new foster pup unless said pup refuses to eat dry kibble. I switch my dogs food up alot because she gets bored easily and we are both thankful that this Tomlinson's is so close and sells her favorite brands Taste of the Wild and The Honest Kitchen. We were in a rush today but my dog will definitely be back before Christmas to Christmas shop for her mini Doxie and Tibetan Terrier cousins and her her new foster bro! read more

They have endured about 80 kitten pictures with grace. I've had many questions as I haven't had kittens for years. They have excellent kitten food, which can be hard to find, and great toys. Their prices are the basic Tom's prices, contrary to Circle C myth. The two women who run it - I wish I knew their names! - are very patient and very knowledgeable. They never answered the phone. It was still ringing when I arrived. I got to the store exactly at 8 and the door was locked. I knocked on the door. They easily could have sold me a bag of food but they turned, looked at me and said they were closed. I talked to them through the locked door and they obviously don't give a damn about customer service. I absolutely LOVE this store. I buy my dog Steve's Raw Food from here, and it's always such a delight when I go in. The staff never fails to greet me and ask if I need help with anything, and if I do- they never fail to know exactly what I'm looking for and have plenty of knowledge on so many things. Whenever I check out with a big bag of food, they always offer to carry it to my car for me. And if I take my pup in, she always gets lots of love and attention. The best experience was lately, I bought chicken meat instead of turducken mean for my dog, and she began having diarrhea for 2 days, so I went in and they let me exchange the food out, even though there was some food missing. The staff is fantastic here, very professional and helpful. I tend to like when an employee walks up, says hi, and offers assistance when I walk in, it makes you feel welcome not ignored. Every time I go in, I am greeted with a smile and assistance. I normally have one of my dogs with me, and it never fails that they are treated as though they belong there. That is huge for me, love my dogs as much as I do and I am a customer for life. We went here today to get our woofies some pumpkin and bluberry bin treats, they are $4.99/lb and you can mix and match all the flavors...We had a great time. The Siamese Rescue was there today! They had two little sweet beauties! The candles they sell up front by the register smell so very extremely good! I have done business with Tomlinson's for many years and have had many good experiences with them. I spend somewhere between $500 and $1000 monthly with them for raw food and kibble for dogs and cats along with bones and other supplies. My dogs and cats are my only family and I tend to be extremely protective of them. My male literally saved my life. Lets just say I owe him the best I can give him and will defend him and them jealously. All was going well till the pretentious, 20 something, arrogant, new manager came in a short time ago. She is very aggressive and claimed to be an "extensively trained" expert on K9 Advantex II, which I now find is responsible for dog deaths pretty much world wide from what I gather. It appears that dogs that are light complected or white are more susceptible to the problems related to using this product. The focus is not on the animals as it used to be but on selling and up-selling as much as possible to get the single ticket total up, AND I have been told this by a person that works there. I remember going to this place and the employees actually cared about me and my animals. There are 2 or 3 people at this store that are still this way, but certainly not this manager and most certainly not the upper management of Tomlinson's. I am sure I will lose touch with those good people there over this, which is most unfortunate and sad. I will most certainly not miss the management either at the local or corporate levels. They have started acting as a non-caring corporation and they stopped taking the go local card, dead giveaway. Caring is no longer the case but selling is. I'm betting that this review will prompt some lame reply from Tomlinson's that will try to debunk this statement. De Bunk all you want, Truth is truth and eventually it will come back to you unless you change this and sternly correct this sanctimonious manager. On her insistence, I purchased and use the product on my Great Pyrenees male (Cotton) my Catahoula (Charlie) and the new female pups (Ema and Stella) I had just gotten. Almost as soon as the second months application was done my male started developing dry brown scabbing and chewed 3 hot spots on his left side. A couple of mornings ago Cotton was acting a little lethargic when I called him to go out. When he stood, he couldn't use his left rear leg. I looked to see if there was anything physical like a cut or another hot spot or anything and could not find anything. After I got him moving a bit he got better fairly quickly. I strongly suspect that this is a result of the nerve toxin acting on his system. I am watching him closely. Once it is in his system there is nothing I can do but wait from what I read. I am definitely not a happy camper here but he does seem to be getting better. I will give him a bath again later today and see if the skin can be calmed from this highly poisonous "treatment". The Emma and Stella developed diarrhea but FORTUNATELY got really muddy playing and I gave them a bath before the poison could have much of an effect on them. Charlie, who is mostly black and brown does not seem to be affected. To tell you I was angry when I went back into Tomlinson's for the last time is accurate. I have every right to be angry. Upon the recommendation of "an expert" I have poisoned my dogs. There is no way I could not be angry. Her manager called me and told me that "they have the entire incident on tape" and that "the manager felt threatened". I never threatened her in any way. I did chew her out over her "expert knowledge" which she deserved. Arrogant, pretentious and aggressively marketing a product that you do not know the entire story on is a disservice to your customers and a crime against the animals. The new manager is a detriment to the business and is a spineless, whimpering, crybaby at best.. She has no regard for the animals. Her "apology" to me was to say that she was "sorry for any inconvenience" she may have caused. Inconvenience??? It's a little more than an inconvenience when upon your recommendation I poisoned my animals. I have no respect for you or your "extensive training" or your Pretentious New Position as "manager". Apparently she, immediately after I left, called the police and filed a complaint. I'm looking into that at this time. Needless to say, I'm not going back to Tomlinson's, not that I would want to after she violated my confidence. Not only did you lose a customer but you have lost my confidence and the confidence of people who know and respect me. A huge part of my problem is with Bayer concerning the production and sale of this product. It contains neurotoxins and carcinogens and is know to cause problems as stated above. I love this place! Every time I come in with my dogs/puppies they're always ready to give them lots of treats and love! They remember them and my pups get so excited when we pull into the parking lot because they know they get treats! The staff is really nice and they seem to always have events going on here especially adoptions! They have lots of chew bones and treats for my teething puppies and they have fun collars with matching leashes that my pups look great in. We go often with no issues and will continue to go back.
