    Complementary hummus & veggies

Haven is a true gem of the Upper West Side. The inside is really beautiful, and is able to host quite a few guests. We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of meeting Keith, an uber-talented bartender that makes the BEST creative cocktails. I ordered the Miss B Haven, which was both smooth and complex, offering flavors of spiciness, smokiness, and just a touch of sweet. He also made us his signature Lavender Haze (a lil bit of a secret menu item hehe), one of my fave drinks in NYC. We got quite a few appetizers to try - French Onion Stuffed Mushrooms, Reuben Flatbread, Onion dip and chips, Bacon Wrapped Dates, and complementary hummus and veggies. Everything was good, but our clear favorites were the dates and flatbread, they were next level. Not pictured, we also got a pizookie with ice cream to take home - sooooo delicious Love coming back to Haven again and again, it's definitely one of my faves in the city!

Our favorite place in the UWS. Food is great and staff is welcoming. The owner Brian will make sure you feel at home. The bar tender Keith is artist behind the bar and runs a speak easy Thu-Sun nights. Gina served us and was terrific. The matza ball miso soup, tuna crispy rice, general Tso's lollipops, and mussels are our favorite apps. We love the burger, the gnocchi, and the chicken paillard, and the seared tuna, and the steak frites. Worth a trip from another neighborhood!!!

This place is amazing! They close the kitchen around 10 but when I walked in hungry the chef offered to make me dinner. Definitely made me want to come back! Super cute in the back too. Keith and Angel were so sweet and the tuna was great. Get the passion fruit drink and you can't go wrong :)

This is an absolute hidden gem of a restaurant! Everything was perfect -- the warm welcome and service, cocktails, and delicious food. We tried the matzo ball soup, seared tuna, Brussels sprouts (will dream about them), and plant based scallops. Great options for everyone and charming atmosphere. Will will be back.

GRANDMA SYLVIA'S KUGEL, CHICKEN PAILLARD, & sweet potato gnocci... all were delicious!

Was in town for the weekend & went with some friends to Haven & had an amazing time! The food was phenomenal - a few of my favorites were the french onion soup mushrooms, noodle kuggle, chicken paillard with Brussel sprouts, sweet potato gnocci & the chocolate babka dessert was to die for so save room for dessert! Service was excellent & loved the atmosphere... will definitely be back next time I'm in NYC!

    Complimentary bean dip

Made a reservation for one of the free times they had left figuring it might be busy on a Friday night during the holiday week. There were quite a few empty tables when we got there. This might have been intentional as they're not prepared to handle a full house yet. We were seated in the back (main) dining room. Even with half the tables empty it was very loud when we were first seated. Once a few tables left you could hear the music playing. We ordered three plates to share and were glad we didn't order more because of how long it took and because we weren't impressed with them. You're given a white bean dip to start. It was very bland. Definitely need to add something to white beans to give them some flavor. The first dish that came out was the general Tso's chicken lollipops. These were the best. Nicely cooked, crispy skin! Then came the Sheep's Meadow salad. This just seemed like a bunch of random ingredients thrown together. The lettuce choice might not have been the best. There was barely any dressing so it was a bit dry. The candied walnuts were good. The roasted cauliflower head was last. This needed to be roasted some more; it was too raw. There was too much going on with the seasoning. Despite the slow delivery of food, our server, Christian, was excellent. He continually checked on us. He knew what dishes we were still waiting for. When he took our order he was very thorough with his recommendation and describing the dishes. There's definitely some room for improvement so that hopefully they more consistently receive positive reviews. Towards the end of our meal the table behind us commented on what a disaster their meal was and then a table up front was talking about how delicious everything was. Seems hit or miss right now!

Good vibes and ambiance. The crudite plate was tasty and we were a big fan of their cocktails. The gnocchi was tasty and well made.

Paper plates, plastic cutlery and pita chips warmed and served in the bags they came in. 2. Service - non-existent. No staff members acknowledge your arrival. You either have to wave madly or go to the bar and ask for a drink. The staff is always closing early with the staff excuse that "we are not busy" yet guests are routinely turned away. The staff is not happy and begrudge being there. DO NOT believe in the hours posted on the website. There is a built-in clientele but the staff can't wait to close it down. I don't know what is wrong with management but they have lost the plot. 3. Ambience - The space could be so much better than it is. The lighting is okay but the seating in the bar area is not appropriate. The adjoining cafe has a better feeling. Ambience has a lot to do with making guests feel welcome - this staff doesn't understand the meaning of hospitality but they should not be blamed. It is clear they have no training and are not held to any standard. If you want to go to a great space, go to the Wallace Hotel around the corner (I am NOT affiliated with them... have just gone there many times). It is so sad to see a place with such potential be so poorly run, especially as they have such little competition. The Arthouse Bar has the potential to be THE leading cocktail/music/late-night bar on the Upper West Side.

The server appeared quickly, and she cheerfully took my order for a glass of Chablis (oops, sorry, no Chablis tonight) and Tuna Nori Tartare. The Italian wine -- my second choice -- was more than suitable. So far, a pleasant experience. The Nori arrived promptly, with four bite-size pieces beautifully presented on a small plate. I popped the first Nori into my mouth and ... OMG ... I'm hardly exaggerating when I say it's one of the worst things I've ever tasted! I hate to complain, and so I didn't. Instead, I wrapped the remaining pieces in a tissue and disposed of them in the restroom bin. I returned to my table and ordered the Truffle Potato Croquettes instead. Not amazing, but light years better than the tartare! At this point I nearly departed, but the jazz trio were setting up and I was interested in having a listen. I ordered a second glass of wine, the other Italian choice on the menu, which was quite lovely. The musicians launched into their first number at 7pm sharp and they were world class! Outstanding musicians. I mean, really outstanding! This more than made up for any culinary shortcomings earlier in the evening. All of this to say, I'd return to The Wallace for the music, but not for the food! :-)

We had an absolute blast from the moment we stepped inside. The whole experience--from the warm welcome at the door to the high-energy live music--was 10/10. The Food Experience: Truly Next Level The food here isn't just "bar snacks"--it's a full-on culinary experience. We tried several dishes and honestly, every single one was a hit: * Grandma's Sunday Sauce: This was the star of the show. It's pure comfort in a bowl and tastes like it's been simmering for days. * The Bacon: You can't go wrong here. It's perfectly prepared, smoky, and dangerously addictive. * The Burrata: So fresh and creamy--the perfect way to start the meal. * Crispy Shrimp: These had the perfect crunch and were packed with flavor. The Vibes & Service The host set the tone right away with a great welcome, and the service throughout the night was seamless. It's rare to find a spot that balances a sophisticated "speakeasy" atmosphere with such friendly, attentive staff. And of course, the music! The live band was electric and kept the energy high all night long. The "Roaring 20s" vibe is so well-done--it feels intimate but exciting at the same time. Final Verdict I would definitely suggest Prohibition to everyone!
