This is our first time here and have heard how they are rated, like the best breakfast place in STL, so we had to check it out. My wife is gluten free and I do not eat meat. Looks like lots of options for both of us. We made a reservation via the website and it is highly recommended. There is parking across the street, as that is the worst part of the experience,but the staff were excellent. We found lots of choices on the menu and food came out hot and pretty fast, especially considering how busy they were. We are happy for the owner(s), as you can see how hard they worked to create a great menu and service crew. Well done!!
Great service, yummy food. Chicken and waffle was sweet and spicy! Omelet was delicious and filling.
Today was my first time dining here but it won't be my last. And based on the steady stream of customers, it is a popular place. So many menu options for breakfast. I settled on the basil infused strawberry French toast plus a side of fresh strawberries. Absolutely delicious. Per my friends the biscuits were spot on and egg white omelette was terrific. We had an excellent waiter- he was astute, efficient and friendly. If you are planning on going to Hatch'd be aware that there is parking across the street (Gravois).

While visiting St. Louis, decided to check out Hatch'd based on all the great Yelp reviews. Despite being very busy on a weekday, we were instantly seated at their only open table. I ordered the Hatch'd By You which consisted of two eggs, meat, hash browns and and English muffin. I thought everything was great. The eggs were spot on and the hash browns were super crispy - exactly how I like them! Hatch'd is a true example of how a restaurant should be run. The owner, Josh, worked alongside his staff, and also stopped by at every table to introduce himself and check on their dining experience. Our waiter was also incredibly polite and suggested some great, personalized customization to our dishes. The place has a very welcoming atmosphere.
I have a new favorite restaurant in St. Louis for breakfast. I purchased the Cherokee Slinger wow wow it was unbelievably good. The hashbrowns were also perfect. they were golden crisp and lightly salted. You know all chorizo is not created equal, and this one stands for far and above most chorizos. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, I will be back.
WORTH THE WAIT. Highly recommend using Yelp to hop on their wait list - start checking early! Service and food were both outstanding. The menu was much larger than I expected and our server didn't hesitate to give us recommendations. Drinks were well made, food was cooked perfectly and came out in no time. There's a great full service bar as well. A lot of tables and a couple different levels give the space a neat atmosphere and it wasn't difficult talking to one another - acoustics are fine! Parking is the only troublesome part about the location, but patience is key.
Best brunch spot I've been to in St. Louis. There's usually a wait, but you can join the list online. Service was very good even though the place was packed. Every single thing we ordered was to die for. Cannot wait to go back.
Visited hatch'd a few weeks ago with 2 friends and I can say that it is still a 5-star experience. We added our name to the waitlist in advance and had a little over 90 minutes to wait for a table, but it's was okay because we were still not even on our way when we added our name. Instead, we took time to get ready and I even ran a few errands before checking in with the host. When I did check in, he let me know there would be another 15-20 minutes before a table was ready. It was a chilly day and sort of drizzly the day we went, so we had to hang out inside to wait for the table which was a little awkward, but we made it work. Once our table was ready, we had a server who brought over water and coffee right away. She even told us about the specials for the day and my friend and I were sold with the poached pear pancakes! After a few minutes, our server came back and we placed our orders and also asked for some refils of our drinks. When the food was delivered to the table, it was hot and fresh and looked amazing. My friend and I shared the pancakes and were so happy to be able to sample both kinds. While my other friend went with a more healthy meal of eggs with bacon and an english muffin. Our server came over to check in on us a few times and made sure we were good. When it was time to pay the bill, we took care of htat quickly and were on our way. Honestly, the wait sucks for this spot, but the food delivers everytime and I recommend visiting for brunch if you are in the area. Just be sure to get on the waitlist or else you will be told a crazy wait time upon arrival.
I can finally say I've been to hatch'd and I get the hype! This was our third attempt at brunch over a couple of years, but it is worth the wait. If you plan to go on a nice Saturday during a holiday weekend, consider joining the online waitlist about 90 minutes beforehand. As you might expect from the warning, hatch'd feels crowded when you first walk in (the host stand and bar seats just a few steps from the front door), but it has a historic South City charm once you move toward your seat. We were lucky enough to be seated on the second floor with exposed brick walls and ample table space for our group of four. As lively and active as hatch'd was, service was impressively prompt. The space between drinks and food was appreciated, as there's a lot of menu to explore. Something stands out for every palate, and even more for anyone as indecisive as me. Besides my regular black coffee (a breakfast requirement), I tried the Revolver, hatch'd's bourbon-and-Kahlua Old Fashioned. The coffee is a nice medium strength - not too bitter and great for refills, exactly what I want with breakfast; the Revolver was a delicious revelation (I guess I shouldn't be surprised that two of my personal favorites blend like chocolate and peanut butter). I landed on the Pikes Market omlette (with carmelized onions in place of red) and a side of Texican loaded hash rounds (topped with grilled jalapeno, onion, queso, pico de gallo, and cilantro). So much to appreciate on one plate: tender smoked salmon, salty feta, sweet caramelized onion, and crispy tots straight from the kithcen. Hatch'd served up a reminder why I rarely pass up breakfast food on any menu. My wife ordered the Drunken Leprechaun (a St. Patrick's Day-themed Blue Hawaiian) and Strawberry Basil French Toast. I personally prefer savory breakfast food (I'll always order an omlette over pancakes when given the choice), but the toast was very good and recommended if you prefer a sweeter meal to start the day. As busy as hatch'd was (and I imagine always is), we walked into the heart of the rush. After about 20 minutes or so, it was much easier for our group to hear and hold conversations. I feel comfortable speaking on behalf of everyone when I say we left pleasantly full and thinking about what's worth a try next time.
Just had breakfast at Hatch'd for the second time in a few months. We had Patrick as our server both times. He always takes care of us, does a fabulous job checking in, clearing the table and helping me put together a meal when I don't know exactly what to order. This is really appreciated especially since they were really busy today. The food was hot and fresh, the pancake wasn't t my vibe, more flat, a tinge sweeter than I like but still descent.the hash browns were cooked perfectly and some of the best I've had. The basil mint lemonade is really good. It's fresh and tasty. The grits are nice and creamy. I tried the pork belly which is smoked fresh. It was tender, a little salty, but flavorful. Unfortunately they don't have bbq sauce and the portion was a bit smaller than expected. That said. We look forward to going back!
This place has been on my list of places to try. I finally got the chance to go. My friend and I came here on our off day from work. We were able to get in right away and get seated. We sat at a high top table near the bar. This is a small restaurant that can be crowded during peak hours. If you go early in the morning, you should be able to get in without a wait. I ordered a sweet Sarah Mimosa and the strawberry basil French toast w/ a side of bacon and eggs. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The French toast weren't overly sweet, they had a slight crunch, all while still being soft and fluffy. The syrup wasn't overly sweet, and was nice and warm. The eggs were cooked to my liking (scrambled with cheese) and the bacon was nice and crispy, not salty. The sweet Sarah mimosa was flavorful with the perfect ratio of strawberry to champagne. Service was excellent. Our server gave us the perfect amount of time to browse the menu, got our drink and food orders in,and checked on us periodically. Pricing was reasonable. Parking can be a hassle as it's street parking. The residential areas fill up quickly and Main Street parking can be a hazard.
The best breakfast burrito I've ever had- probably my new favorite brunch! I came here for a birthday meal with friends during the holidays, so it was a bit crowded. However, we checked in on the waitlist on our way over, and we only had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated. (Given that the app told me we were 17th in line initially, I was worried it might take much longer.) The hostesses were very friendly and gave us an accurate estimate of the time it would take. We didn't even end up waiting long enough to order drinks at the bar, which would have been a great option had we been waiting longer. The food here is outstanding. There are so many choices, all with creative names ;) Our table ordered four different dishes, and everyone was satisfied! They all loved the Mary Moon, Bizzle & Grizzle, and Benny's Got Beef. My California King burrito was amazing- perfectly done scrambled eggs inside, bacon, hash browns smothered in queso, topped with their own fresh pico de gallo. I couldn't even finish the whole thing, and my husband loved the leftovers. Add bottomless mimosas, and your morning is made! I love the cozy local hole-in-the-wall vibes, with unique mugs all around. It all felt very authentic and homey. Parking is not easy here, but it helps to know that going in. Be prepared to circle the block a time or two for street parking. I promise it's worth it!

Met some friends for breakfast at Hatch'...AMAZING!! Family owned by father/son duo in Princeton Heights. Great selection of food available, and even a "skinny" menu if you have those few that may want a lighter option. We picked Pastrami Hash, Let Freedom Ring (French toast sandwich: with egg, bacon and sausage), and Nachostada (tostada, refried beans, chorizo, green salsa, and eggs). All three choices were flavorful and would recommend to anyone. Tips: Parking is street side and there are one-way streets, find an easy approach to make it easier. Did see after circling that there is a small parking lot across the street for parking. We arrived around 0830 (they open at 0700), it picked up around 0900 with some wait time for a table. read more

This place is very welcoming! They have amazing drinks. Plenty of breakfast and lunch options with availability to custom every order (MINUS THE KAREN). The owners are very nice and accommodating. Everything looked amazing. Definitely coming back to try more menu items! read more

We have tried to come to this place for breakfast multiple times and the line is always out the door. We decided to come in closer to when they opened and we were able to get a few seats at the bar area. We perused the menu and I was in love. They had classic dishes along with some great other options with a more modern take on breakfast. We're ordered the Let Freedom Ring and Eggmond Dates and we were so happy with our choices. The service was amazing and the owner was even walking around making sure everyone was satisfied with their food. I was all around impressed with this place at every level. My only recommendation is get here when they open to make sure you get a table. Amazing breakfast spot!!! read more

I just visited this place today! And I loved it! The food was very good, it came out very quickly, and I was also able to meet the owner!!! He actually brought out our food. He was great and so down to earth!! I got the Fill Er Up skillet and it was awesome! The eggs were scrambled perfect and the hash browns had a good crunch that made everything just fall into place. I also was able to taste one of their drinks the pinknife drinks, I know I am butchering the name but if you at least say penknife they probably will know what you're talking about lol. It was recommended by the waitress and it was very good as well. I really like this place and I am going to put it on my list is one of my new go-to's for breakfast. read more
I enjoy brunch that I do not have to wait for. Since breakfast is one of those things I feel like I can make at home. So the biggest benefit is no dishes amiright!?! I was excited to see several low carb options, mostly omelets, but again, I don't have to cut everything up myself! I also love a spicy option and mostly anything with chorizo in it. My first bite was definitely a flavor explosion in my mouth. I cleaned my plate and loved the fruit option was strawberries and blueberries. I'm sure everyone has their fruit favorites, but melons just take up space in my opinion. Service was great, like I said, food came out quickly and we got there early enough 730/8 to watch the place fill up. We don't do breakfast out often, but this is a great hidden gem. read more

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand back for a third time. No big surprise, as great as the previous visits. We went on Saturday, right around 10:45. We put our name on the Yelp wait list ahead of time but still had a 15 minute wait when we got there. They were quite busy and the whole visit lasted over an hour. We had forgotten that lunch is only served Mon-Fri, the server had forgotten as well because she came back after we ordered and reminded us they don't serve lunch on Saturday. I got the good-old avocado toast again. Same as last time, they did a good job to keep it constant. The server we had was Honey. Attentive and refills came before glasses were empty. The place was busy so she seemed a little flustered. But good on the whole. We, still, will be back. This, I think, will fast become our go-to place. See you again soon, Hatch'd! read more

Im back and i'm brunching! This week was a solo brunch @hatchdinstl !!! I had a great time! I know they have mixed reviews and I only had one item but know that I will definitely be back to try a bunch of other stuff!! FOOD: .75/5 SERVICE: /5 COCKTAIL: /5 OVERALL: /5 I did put my name on the yelp waitlist which isn't the most accurate but was super grateful there was a bar seat waiting on me when I got there. I do recommend either going during the week (7a-2p) or early on the weekends if you aren't a patient person. I was helped right away, my drink was STRONG like I like them.. and my food came out in about 20 min after I ordered.. which was perfect! I love that the owner not only served my food but took the time to chat with me about how he smokes most of his meat himself in-house ( his smoked salmon takes 3 days!!) , where some of the names for the food were born, and just chat about his business. He is super proud and I love that!!! My food was good! I wish I had just a tiny bit more queso on my Bennys Got Beef but am glad it wasn't too much and overpowered the entire dish. I will be back because they have everything from healthy options, to omelets, to pancakes FILLED with peanut butter, bacon, banana AND chocolate.. What's not to love (other than the parking but it's south city... whadya expect!) I will be back... FAT ELVIS is calling my name!! Have you been?! read more

I can truly say this is the best breakfast place I have been to. The service was exceptional and all staff were friendly. My mother said she had never tasted a better omelette and it was fluffy and not even close to greasy. I can say for myself that the chicken and waffles are to die for. The honey and kind of sweet with a little spice truly makes the dish fantastic. If I could give Hatch'd 6 stars I would. We will definitely be coming back!!! read more
