Harley Exterior Inc. This company puts potential customers in a high pressure sales environment and paint a very bad doom and gloom scenario that makes people think they have no choice but to get the work done ASAP! Then they up sale you on everything because again, if you do not do it you will just need to replace your roof again within a few years or you will not be able to sell your home because an inspector will make you redo the whole roof which will be worse and cost you more money. Or mold will grow in a very short period of time and spread throughout your house getting you sick and costing more money. And while the sales person was nice (because they are trying to sell you something), they were not all together honest, which was disappointing. They told us they were calling the owner (it was at after 10pm at night at the time), to get a code and do something for us. Found out much later after a terrible experience with both the finance and operations managers it was not the owner at all, it was the operations manager being portrayed as the owner so it was all a lie and just part of their gimmick to rope you in. Then when you call them in it, the finance manager and operations manager both tell you no matter what, even if you do not trust them any more and do not want to do business with them, you HAVE to! Many reviews show they are over priced and that If you go and have another company price out your roof you will likely find you are being way over priced and will pay 3-4 time what it should actually cost you. If you try to change your mind, even before any services or work has been completed to the house or before any loans are final, they threaten you and say too bad we are doing the work anyway whether you ant it done or not. And if you don't go through with it we will put a lean on your house and you will not be able to sell it until we get our money! Even when you tell them after looking at the costs you cannot afford it their reply (Jennifer the Financial manager and their operations manager) just said yeah that's too bad but we are still going to do the work whether you want it or not...but it is going to be a good roof, you need this...who are they to tell any potential customers what we need or do not need and force them into business. So I warn anyone thinking of doing business with Harley Exteriors Inc. they do not care about their customers, what your personal situation is or weather you can actually afford to pay the note (even if the bank approves you for money). For them it is all about the money, that is all that matters to them. Your money at a ridiculously profit and at the expense of you and your families overall well being. And to top it off, I am an active duty service member for 26 years that protects their rights and apparently so they can screw me over and that is their thanks for military members. Wanted to update, around the 1 year mark we had to get them out to fix the weep holes since wasps were squeezing in through them. I think they ended up inserting some steel wool type insect block that I guess they forgot to put in during install or didn't put in properly. After about 7 years, the windows were still going strong. They insulate better than the old aluminum windows and look much better. Do be warned, they use high pressure sales tactics. read more

If you want a company that will give you an incorrect estimate which is already higher than most, then demand you pay for their mistake, and fail to communicate any scheduling, then send an incompetent subcontractor who will damage your house during installation then take 2 months to inspect the damage and reach the conclusion that somehow they aren't responsible for the damage which occurred during the installation process then harass you for payment when the issue is unresolved then definitely go with Harley's.... If you want decent service rendered with any kind of respect... I wouldn't recommend Harley's. AKA They are the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of working with. The crew was great but sales and management have no idea, in my opinion, on how to interact with customers or potential customers without being condescending or just plain threatening. The design they had allowed me to do a remove and replace without having to remove and potentially damage my trim. If there were a way to have two choices here I would have 4 stars for the install and 1 for service. The install was fast and I am pleased with the windows so far. What I am unhappy with is that the slider needed a lock installed - but when he did it he made a hole in the middle of the screen for it. This was in March 2019. Today is Jul 2019 and it is still NOT fixed. Getting service is horrible! To add salt to the wound, Sales called me to see if I was ready to purchase more windows to have all the windows done. I politely declined and shared my service call experience. She said she would look into it and get back to me. That was in April. I do not recommend this company only because when comparing the $$$$ spent on the purchase vs. the service and support - it is not worth it. read more

I contracted with Harley Exteriors in February 2021 to replace my roof. I paid them $30,000. They made a few attempts in 2021 to repair the damage. (Think of about a 1/2 inch of water across the ceiling and insulation soaked.) They patched the roof with black paper in the Fall to get through the raining season. One year later, the roof continues to unfinished. I've made appointments with the on February 28, 2022 and again on March 7, 2022. They failed to keep both. Where do I begin? We asked for a quote to fix six windows (balances are broken). 3 hours later I get a quote for 70k for 33 brand new windows. I asked for cost to replace the six windows i originally called about and the rep insisted that he calculate the cost on the spot with his calculator. It was 10pm at night and I let him know I have to work in the morning. We asked for an emailed quote and he invited himself back to our house for an in person quote because that's just how earnest they are. I was amazed at how fast they worked I thought for sure it would be two days of work but the crew of eight knocked it out in one they worked very well as a team. I was also impressed by the ingenuity of the Forman he made a special tool to remove the old aluminum frames so the tile sills we had wouldn't be damaged it worked good. There was one mistake made in the manufacturing of one of the windows but they were quick to get a new window and replace it. The manufacturer said it would take at least a month and a half to replace Harley Exterior had it in three weeks. I am happy with the quality work they did and also with the price. read more

We had a person come out and take pictures of the attic, and roof. The representative promised to come back at another date due to a time conflict. Several days later, a new representative came out, and wanted to do the same inspection. I mentioned that someone had already taken the pictures. I wanted to meet outside as I have been inside all day. That did not work out. I grabbed some folding chairs and created a place inside. Also we got back from vacation, and literally every space was filled up. The representative decided not do the the presentation and provide the estimate unless my wife was there. I did not know my wife needed to be there, as this was a last minute condition. My wife was busy with the kid, and we just got back from vacation. I have an accounting degree, and know what to discuss and evaluate. This is a discriminatory practice as I can take the materials back to my wife and discuss. I contacted them on the web about this, and have not heard anything back. This is definitely not good! read more

The reason for the low rating is that upon installation it was discovered that a window was missing. I was told that the window was going to be ordered and someone would be out to install it. This happened on October 18th, 2022. Since then I have called at least 6 times to find out about this lone window. Apparently my project manager quit and no one can tell me where my window is and when it will be installed. No one has called me back even after each and every time I call they say they will. I spent over $40,000 on this project and would just like it finished. Hopefully the Better Business Bureau will be able to help get the job completed! read more

Imagine a time share sales pitch from the comfort of your own home (I should have known when I set the appointment and they require both spouses to be there.) We were repeatedly asked to make commitments before a price is even revealed. Information was flashed before us then squirreled away. After a couple hours we were finally offered a price scratched on a piece of paper that we had to agree to that night. With financing we would pay almost $100k for a roof. No written bid, no time to research, evaluate and discuss the merits. The decision had to be made right then or we would pay more. Honestly I probably would have made this my top choice for roofing, but the high pressure sales tactic is not something I'll agree to. No thanks, not my style. I kicked the salesman out of my house. I wish I could give zero stars. To be honest, I wasn't going to leave a bad review until I just received a disturbing call. My in-law windows in my 2 story home recently started leaking. I was looking to have them replaced so I contacted Harley exteriors. I scheduled an appointment last week using their system. I only used my name, as I would be the only person responsible in this transaction. My title does list my husband but I did not include him. I got a call the following day asking to reschedule the time because they were between jobs and the new time would better accommodate them. I obliged. The day of the appt. I got a call from their dispatch telling my they would be late. Once he arrived 30 minutes late, they arrived with someone new to the job who was just learning. I was never asked if that would be ok, had they asked prior to my appt. I probably would have said no seeing as we're in the middle of a pandemic. In addition, I was only interested in doing my lower level in-law, as I did not want people in my upstairs. He was insistent and pushy and asked to look at the top floor ones too. Finally, he gets a "call" during my estimate and says that his boss needed him immediately at another project. I was suspicious but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Fast forward to today, Monday. I get a call from them saying there was a note to follow up, but nothing else. I politely tell them I'm not interested in doing business with them thinking that would be the end of the conversation. It was not, I was told that both people needed to be at the appt. and when I tell them, I'm not even sure how you got my husbands name they say they pull it from King county. Again, I never said or agreed to him being there. How is it they think it's ok to pull data and then require presence of the other person. If I needed someone else there I would have included his name. But, again, that is besides the point. I was told that they needed to be somewhere else during the middle of my estimate and that was their excuse for leaving. The women who called me insisted on trying to get more information from me and I had to finally hang up after telling her I was not interested in doing business with them. There is not need to try and continue to collect information from me. I've participated in timeshare presentations, and this felt VERY VERY similar to one. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place, even for an estimate. read more

Great installation, poor communication The men that installed my windows were very nice and professional. They did my whole townhouse in 1 day, which was a little stressful with 4 pets but better than having to come back. My project manager was a different story. He didn't keep me updated on a timeline, scheduled installation without speaking to me, and was nearly impossible to speak to on the phone. My fist installation date was scheduled but I had to reach out to him to find that out. I had to reschedule this installation date due to family coming into town unexpectedly. He then scheduled for the Monday after Christmas, which I was concerned about since it was a holiday. The installers tried to pick up the windows but the warehouse was closed...shocking on a national holiday. He then rescheduled on a day I wouldn't be home, again without checking with me and I had to email him to find out it was scheduled. When I sent him emails addressing the communication concerns and my anxiety regarding this huge cost, he simply brushed it off and did nothing to reassure me. I said I was concerned about some of the recent negative reviews and he told me "you see the reviews you want to see." As if I want to see negative reviews for a service that is costing me over $20k! I probably would not use the service again or recommend them due to the lack of communication with Robert but am happy with product overall. read more

Avoid at all costs. Like many others have stated, they have a pre-canned sales pitch that throws a bunch of unfamiliar jargon at you. Even if you ask them to dispense with it and just get down to brass tacks, they won't. Apparently, the windows are made by a local manufacturer. They will regale you with facts about how their owner, who they will repeatedly remind you is "ex-navy," invented a better mousetrap than even the national manufacturers. Somehow their windows never lose Argon, don't break often, leak, etc. They say you get a lifetime warranty on everything, but what happens if the company goes under? They attest to their exceptional customer service and say you will always be covered. However, apparently you can't ask for them to email you a bid. They must come a second time and give you the bid in person. When I asked why they couldn't send the bid via email, I was curtly told that "they advised the bid would be in person when you signed up for the quote." Why would I ever do business with a company that treats potential customers like that? read more

It's been 6 months since we initially placed the order for our Windows and they still haven't fixed the problems from the lazy install. The windows are fine, but extremely over priced. We paid for a Mercedes and got a PT Cruiser from a used car dealer, so to say that I'm mad is an understatement. The entire project has had to be micromanaged and we always seem to have to talk to someone else. There is supposedly a project manager, yet we had to re-explain the job to every person we talked to. The person who measured the Windows recommended we increase the size to the frame, but didn't make them all the same height, so they make the outside look like shit and sit under the eaves. Then, they tried to walk away without putting any exterior trim back on the windows, when we said over and over that it had to be water proof on the outside. At one point, the owner stopped by and tried to re-assure us that "he has these Windows in his house" and they'll "get us taken care of". As soon as he left, the installers stopped caring and left our house covered in dust and bits of debris, including on our bed because they didn't tarp anything off. I also said over and over that they needed to protect the brand new floor, but they just didn't and ended up scuffling it up everywhere. 3 months later we still have a cracked frame, their job still looks terrible, there are huge gaps between the trim and siding, the installer said it was done wrong but they can caulk it or not, and they always put us on the merry go round of "talk to this person in this other department." They have done what we could consider the bare minimum of putting new windows into our house. Needless to say, we will never recommend or use this horrible company again. Working with the manufacturer, Lindsay, has been pretty good, but use a different contractor. read more

And insisted we need to allocate 1.5 hour for the appointment. We told them not interested with their services any more.
