I can't thank Andy, Jackie, and everyone at Intermountain enough. We bought our home weeks before the pandemic hit. A year into the pandemic, we realized the seal and thermal break on our bedroom windows had failed. We needed custom windows for our 75+ year-old home. There was a backlog of orders, supply chain issues, and all the other fun challenges in 2021. When the windows arrived, the factory made an honest mistake with one window that was 1/4 inch too narrow to fit correctly. A second window had minor but visible damage that happened in shipping to Intermountain. Interment had the issues corrected, and they kept us informed on the replacement windows order status and shipping. They even sent us photos of inspecting the replacement windows as they came off the truck from the factory to ensure we were happy before scheduling the next install date. Our condo building needed some doors replaced. These guys had competitive pricing with other local vendors . I was able to go out and actually look and feel the quality of the material at their showroom out in Bothell. They came and measured what we needed and recommended good quality doors, and just today installed four of them and did a really good job of installation fit and finish cleaning up afterwards. I have a house from the 1940s that was partially updated in the 90s and thus, there are 4 generations of windows, none of which were particularly maintained. Of all the contractors I talked to, Intermountain checked all the boxes in terms of: - patience in explaining all the options, twice, - actually helping to find workable options to keep the style of the old house with the nice woodwork while not cutting on quality, - transparency in pricing, - understanding I may want to start with a batch of windows first before committing to almost 30 of them, - and that one is more personal: not assuming my husband is the one taking care of all those kinds of projects in the house, including being considerate (I cannot believe that needs to be mentioned in 2023, but there you go). The price was in range with competitors, or lower (considering some competitors have magical prices with no transparency). They did not try to oversell, just tried matching what we were looking for as much as possible, with various models and price options. At each stage of the project, they communicated clearly the progress, what was going to happen, etc. All the way up to the day of the installation, and during the day itself they shared their findings about the quality of the siding, and so on. We originally ordered from IMG because we were wary of all the problems we heard about with box stores, they had a nice quoting process, and were not pushing their own custom product. That was where the pleasantness ended. At Inter Mountain Glass hours of your time are not worth a 2 minute phone call by them. They missed at least 3 appointments with us, with no phone call. We would come home and sit, then after the arrival window call and say you were supposed to be here. 'Oh, yea we can't make it.' Well, if you knew you couldn't make it you should have called so we are not rushing out of work or something else just to wait for nothing. They missed the measurement appointment. They missed an install day. And they missed a post-install inspection after we complained about damage and poor installation. They ended up doing a measurement visit when we were not home, and failed miserably. We had 7 windows and a door, with 4 different window sizes. Two of the windows were off by at least 6 inches. We can only guess they didn't measure them and there was zero quality control to compare the measurements to the quote and see that they were very different. Also, the door was too short by at least an inch. Which they tried to convince us to just install anyway, even though it would be a major tripping hazard because they wanted to shim it UP and have the lip raised about 2" above the floor. At least we directly didn't pay for their screw up? So now instead of getting everything installed in 2 consecutive days we have a month between installations, with lots of additional furniture moving, etc... Then they just don't show up to install on the second day. Excuse - "ohh, we are too far away and we are not going to make it I guess, because we double booked." Gee. Thanks. When they finally came into install the last stuff they messed up a brand new carpet - it was left unattached to the tack strip in some areas, and ballooning up in another area (instead of stretched tight, how it was installed). Not to mention scratches and dents all around the interior of the house where they were operating. Also, almost every install needed to have the caulking fixed after because it was cracking and pulling away, not actually sealing anything. And once they did finally install the SCREEN door, they did so without a screen. So now we can't have the door open to cool things off on the hottest days of the year. We would have much preferred they wait to install the door until it had a screen. We could at least use the old screen door. But they didn't so much as inform us there was no screen until after everything was done. With all the damage and the screwed up carpet we called and complained. So they sent out someone to inspect it. Of course he misses his arrival window. They were called to ask where he was, since we had several no-shows from them already and we were assured he would be there. Thankfully he was less than 30 minutes late, but knowing he was going to be late, a quick call an hour earlier would have been simple. Finally, for weeks after both installations I was finding debris from the installation all over the yard. Not just bits of wood, but small sharp metal parts, debris from caulking tubes, etc.. I even found a whole (empty) caulk tube in the bushes! They don't do much of a clean up and it seems like they just toss small things over their shoulder into yards where children run around barefoot. IMG demonstrated a complete lack of care for our time and our property. I would NOT recommend going with them. I wish we had spent ~20% more and gotten windows from somewhere else. read more

I recently had two of my sliding door replaced by this company. Two years ago they replaced 15+ windows for me as well. Both time the process were very smooth. Martin and his crew did an awesome job. When removing the existing sliding door, they ensured the fiber cement siding not being impacted, which was challenging since it was nailed with the exterior trim. They also provided good suggestions with the interior trim and made sure we're 100% happy with the trim style/outcome. I would definitely recommend them to others. read more

So, it took four attempts before Intermountain Glass got our warranty replacement window correct. The first time they found a flaw in the glass. The second try they found thin strands of glue between the two panes. The third attempt they actually got the dimensions wrong. Finally, on the fourth try, they got it right! Next point. The installation was done by Frank. I had tried to protect my garlic plants under the window, but Frank just threw his tarp across them and said, "I'll buy you some garlic myself". Frank did not wear a COVID mask at any point while on the job site even during discussions with our contractors - to whom he was also short and rude. Did our window get replaced? Yes. Eventually. After five cancelled appointments. Would we recommend this company? Not very likely. read more

The team of Tony and Nelson were efficient, on time, focused and precise when installing two single hung windows in our home. For our project we sought: - replacing all windows and doors in our house with thin-bevel, energy-efficient windows with reliable manufacturer support, - changing the shape of several existing windows, - cutting out a new large 8ft wide door to our garden, - get a different combination of tempered glass, double low e, screens, double-hung windows depending on its location Met 3 companies, but only IMG was able to meet our goals. We met several times to complete all measurements, discuss variants, discuss necessary preparations. When the installation day came, we were able to - work out a solid plan for each installation day, giving us ability to continue to work from home - organize work around window installation and electrical wiring modifications (necessary when cutting out new door) - talk through finishing options The crew made sure to - above all - leave the place clean each day, including dusting the garage where a lot of wood was cut, or marks on difficult to access walls where they placed a ladder - respect our need to work or join remote meetings when we needed to - reorganizing their work so that they would not be idling - work fast and discuss with us plan for the current and upcoming day. There were a few delays in the process, but with the scale of work i would say nothing out of the ordinary. The result - one of the darkest, most avoided rooms is now the most beloved rooms in our house, with a large window facing our garden - our house is a lot warmer - it took us just one weekend to make everything look as if nothing ever happened. Martin is a super expert! He put in 3 huge windows and a large sliding door in like it was nothing. On a winter day in Seattle a whole host of weather related issues could wreak havoc but Martin outwitted it all. I liked how he had planned the order of the install to minimize any disruptions to our activities. He's super methodical, meticulous at the same time he is chill and make it happen. He has his crew left things cleaner than when they came - and sooooo polite, so hardworking, pretty sure they didn't take a break. We got estimates from at least three (3) window companies to have all the windows in our older Ballard home replaced. Intermountain Glass came highly recommended by a neighbor/ contractor who had used them before and mentioned they were family owned and employed their own installers, which he said was important. The estimate was not the lowest--ONLY because another company kept lowering their bid (three times) in order to land the job--never a good sign. Intermountain Glass totally checked out through BBB and others, and we had all the windows (14 total) in the home replaced, including a number of rather large picture windows and several tricky scenarios tackled. We had some trim/flashing replaced on the house and changed colors; they were very patient with our questions and pondering. The final cost was great, and the windows were far more impressive than we ever realized. We could not believe how much they made a difference in the noise reduction from traffic on the street, as well as keeping the house warm. Amazing! Installers were polite and professional, and they came out to check the job and also did another trip to double check an item we asked about. Several years later, the windows still look great and the work is good. Windows are a big investment, so it's important to get the right company. This company, which doesn't advertise, is a hidden gem. read more

Intermountain Glass replaced the entire entryway of my 1958 split-entry house (door, sidelight, transom, framing). From my first email inquiring about services to the moment when the installers pulled out of the drive, my experience with Intermountain Glass was exceptional. Our sales rep Randy was knowledgable and personable. He came prepared and answered all my "first timer" questions. He even met me at my work to complete the paperwork, in order to accommodate my schedule. Mike came out to measure everything and took great care to talk to me about my future flooring project to be sure that the entryway was set high enough to accommodate my new tile. The installers were amazing. They were super friendly and concerned with making sure we were informed and happy all along the way. When I jokingly asked them to remove our ugly chandelier which was hung too high for my ladder, they DID! The finished work is beautiful and I could not be happier. Lucky for me, they were the least expensive of all the bids I received (although I chose them based on their excellent service and understanding of my project.) Lucky for them, I have a whole house of windows to replace, and when it comes time to do them, I will definitely be hiring them back! read more

Thankfully they had the standard fit in stock so we wouldn't have to wait he extra time. We were funded back HALF of what we paid just to buy another...when your contractor says that it's not a big deal and then.... BIG DEAL. Do yourself a favor and just go to the box store. After a long discussion with Andy, one of the owners, he assured me that my experience was not the norm with their company. He made sure that the missing part was taken care of in the next couple of days after I spoke with him. The technition that came out, Rhett, was great and got it fixed quickly. I asked about an old slider door giving us problems and he told me the fix was simple and they would order the part. I was communitcated with about each step of the process to fixing the door and Rhett even had some extra time and came over early to fix it. Our door works better than we can ever remember! Be careful when you signs contract because I just learned that our windows are slide into the frame with out real frames, even though it's life time warranty, they tell you you signed to have the windows installed that way!! But we found out all the screws are not even screwed into anything but air when we open up some siding from the outside, and eventually the windows will sag. They are betting on people move every 3-5 years so the warranty will not be transferable to the new owners, case closed! But if it's not installed right no matter what I signed 3 years ago, it is not safe. Hopefully they will come make it right even they don't want to, I will give another rating after things are fixed. read more

I had a moldy old kitchen garden window. Intermountain replaced it with a beautiful window. I thought I'd have to hire a painter to paint around the edges of their replacement, both inside and out, but they didn't leave a scratch. The team they sent, Dave and Austin, were in and out much quicker than I thought and really knew their job. We needed an old failing garden window removed and replaced with a Milguard slider. We called and visited other businesses. No one would come out to measure except Intermountain. We received a clear estimate. There was excellent follow through scheduling and completing the work. The crew sealed the opening while working to avoid dust in the house. The crew explained the condition of the siding, how they seal it to be sure moisture does not get in. We have confidence in their work. read more

The seals in our slider patio door and a bedroom window were broken. Intermountain was very helpful on the phone explaining what they would be doing and my options. Gave me an approximate date when the glass would be in and to schedule an appointment. They called right at the estimated date! I am so pleased with people on the phone, the person taking the actual measurements and the installers. All very professional and also patient & nice! Everyone did the best they could with the Covid and also kept my house clean. Hopefully no other windows go out but if they do I'm definitely calling Intermountain. read more

I highly recommend this company! We had 2 windows to replace with failed seals that were fogged. I looked into replacing one of them a few years ago and the estimate from a different company was sky high. And they really didn't want to come out for one window. Now that I had 2, I called Intermountain and I am SO glad I did. They are professional, responsive and have great communication. They came out and measured quickly and the windows were ready to install in a few weeks. The installer was awesome, friendly, super quick and the finished windows are beautiful! We had a large job to do. We did our research and got bids. We chose IMG. What a mistake. It was a battle from the beginning. The professionalism of their crews was immediately suspect. Poor cleanup start-to-finish; shooting nail guns at each other; using customer bathrooms when a porta-potty was available...it was ridiculous. Working with management was equally disappointing. Smiling, nodding in consent on one hand.....back stabbing on the other. No cooperation. The products from Simonton were good (and available at most window dealers), but the installation and customer service were a huge let-down. read more

Jan/2013: After months of research, we picked Simonton windows, and narrowed down to IMG for their experience with a previous installation in a similar 1950 home with the same sidings like ours. IMG's bid was in the middle, though the sale was a typical sales job with promises. Sales rep, Jeff, was chatty and ran on. The lead foreman/tech was convincing. We outlined our requirements and expectations. Unfortunately, we should have it written down on the signed contract, only in email communication. IMG's Sales, Foreman, and installation didn't meet our expectations: lack of communication to the installers, between scheduler, sales and lead. A lead foreman came out for pre-sale estimate and inspection but never showed up for the installation; perhaps our $14k project is not big enough. 2 younger installers showed up and had difficulties removing the first window. We were expecting a lead foreman with the experience would kick off the installation. Once they learned the frame/structure, the other windows went smoother. There was another lead foreman that came out but cease to return, after we disagreed with his trimming/framing on the inside. We wanted it clean-line and not step-down trimming as discussed with Sales. So, he never came back. We are happy with the outside installation, however. The owner came out to complete the installation, after a couple of weeks of back/forth. Our home was in limbo during these weeks; furniture moved, covered tarp/blanket, etc. and the project was estimated to complete in 3 days. The owner has attention to details but his staff's execution still did a poor job with a few windows. We forgo it and signed/paid off to regain our home. The installers insisted that they lose money from this project; this is intimidating and poor customer service. Working with management was equally disappointing. We should have picked their competitor whom is very knowledgeable, a single person pre-sale/owner/estimate/technical, no need to back/forth with the tech lead, nor the manufacture, questions answered on the spot. The drawbacks were distance and no recent experience with a similar home, but this didn't count much if they send out rookie installers - do insist on installers that have done the same project before. It has been 6 months and counting, we'll update this review if any issue shows up, since we have double life warranty. read more

Yesterday, the team at Intermountain Glass absolutely made my day! What started out as an emergency, ended with a solution and quick fix. I contacted their office yesterday morning to make an appointment as our skylight was leaking. Allison called and scheduled me to early afternoon. Ben (their technician) called and scheduled to meet me at my home at 1:30. He was prompt, professional, courteous and most importantly, knowledgeable. He came in, we looked at the three other windows in question and then he prepared me for what could be the problem with the skylight. After he went up on the roof and was making some noise, I started to think the worst and that the whole thing must be rotted out. However, he returned and said that he found out the problem. The skylight had been installed incorrectly! He was able to fix it, give me some instructions to caulk it, and voila, my worry was abated! He then walked around to make sure all of the other windows were in good working order (and did not try to sell me something I didn't need!), and gave me an estimate of when we might expect them to be in. All of this took place within an hour. Ben is a star! IM has a great team effort and what I found to be fantastic customer service. Their prices for their windows are competitive and reasonsable, too. I would definitely recommend you to family, friends and neighbors! read more

Each staff member at IMG from sales to installation were helpful & professional. We had a million questions and concerns and in each instance the staff addressed them patiently along the way. We started our search for window replacements 1 year ago and the process was worthwhile. Tyler, Tony and Joe (installation staff) worked efficiently together. The only time they worked from inside the house was to thoroughly tape off the window opening, cleaning the glass and caulking. There was NO construction mess.They laid tarps on the ground and rolled up all the mess and removed construction tools daily. Since these windows were installed during our exceptionally hot September weather I was amazed at their stamina. They arrived promptly each day, Worked well with us (and seemed to accept our looking over their shoulders). The tiled sash was cut back perfectly to accept the deeper windows. The old storm windows and windows (which had tabs that connected them to the house) were removed without any significant damage by using a saw that could reach back into the wood to cut them away. They do NOT use a Saws All, but patiently and carefully trimmed window opening back to accept the new windows. (Only a little touch up paint for minor splinters. I pre-painted 2x2 exterior window trim.. really good decision). We have normally done all of the repairs our selves (excluding roofing) so this was a big deal to have someone working on the home we have owned and maintained for 43 years. Since we are retired we'll be home to enjoy the view. I am happy to say we are very pleased with our choices and Intermountain Glass. read more
