I have many 35-year old wood windows in my house. As a new home owner, I was worried about the window performance since they are old. I contacted Peter and he came to help me do some inspections on my concerned windows. He helps me understand the problems better and can even tell me the new and old part and the years of the window. I think he is professional and reliable. After seeing all the great yelp reviews, we asked the folks at Reglaze for a quote on our windows. Anyone that has replaced windows knows, it's not a cheap project. That said, these guys came in under a couple other places we talked to and we liked working with them the best...so it was an easy decision. They were booked out a few months, but that's understandable with all the great reviews. Once our install date came up, everything was super easy! They got our entire tri-level house (2 sliding glass doors + 15 windows) done in 4 days. Wayne even let my dog out while we were at work, that was so appreciated. And the install was great. PURE AWESOME! I interviewed several major window installers in the local Seattle area and chose Reglaze after very careful consideration based on research, price and my BS meter. Of course everyone says their windows and installation process are the best but no one has 35 years of local service to reference from the same installers and same business owners over that entire period. The job was beautifully done in a timely manner. They were professional and a very likable team. The two owners were here. One installs and the other is a carpenter with expert touch. They also had a 3rd guy who did most of the caulking and tear out. All our windows had ugly tile for casements and since it's a 1955 built house there was water damage under some of them. They rebuilt the entire window encasement's with fur on the inside and cedar on the outside. The detail work was exceptional (see included pictures)! I must have complimented them a dozen times during their work. They picked up as they went and made sure not to let my dog out. We found Reglaze through yelp and after speaking with Pete for the initial estimate, we ended up going with them for a full replacement of all the windows in our home. We own an older home from the 1940s and everything was still all single pane windows. We also live on a busy street, so between the road noise + loss of heat during the winter we chose to replace everything with double pane. Pete did an excellent job of explaining all the options, costs and even bringing samples by for us to choose from. He also did the initial set of measurements. Wayne came by to do a second set of measurements right before work started. Wayne and his crew were incredibly friendly and professional and left the house absolutely spotless each day. One of the old paint layers around the window had lead in it, so they made safety their top priority and sealed off everything correctly as they worked. They had top notch communication the whole way through and finished all the windows within 3 days. We could immediately feel the difference and as the weather has been cooling down, we've already noticed the better heat retention. After the work had been completed, Pete came by once more to do a final inspection and wanted to make sure we were 100% happy with the job they had done. I have known Wayne and Pete for almost 20 years from tailgating and they have always been friendly and warm. I didn't want to intrude on that friendship by inserting "business" into our relationship. However I know Wayne is a craftsman with wood and have seen many of his projects, toys for children, doll houses with details not done in homes and loving effort to craft the end result. I had received quotes from Home Depot and Lowes before Pete came by and Pete actually told me that the windows I have right now only needs to have springs and channels replaced. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to even tell which company had installed my windows. As a result I was able to save over $15,000! Even through the estimate process Pete was really great at not only discussing various price options but also talking about what the pros and cons of each selection would be. I'd had a couple of general contractors come by to bid on replacing five of my painted-shut double-hung windows (circa 1930). I was concerned that all of them were ordering the replacement windows through a truly awful local window/door supplier. On a whim, I looked up Reglaze, which specializes in installation of industrial and residential windows. They had great ratings with BBB, etc., and when I had them over to bid, I found out why. They had several window options to propose that the contractors had never mentioned. They were really interested in what I wanted to achieve with new windows (certain types of ventilation in the summer, view, etc.) The replacement windows I ended up getting from them cost the same as what the contractors were proposing, but they were so much more attractive and useful. The windows I ordered arrived on time, and -- here's the amazing part -- they installed them in just three or four hours, and that included insulating the hollow areas in the walls between each of the windows! Amazing, honest, clean, and timely service. I originally called about a two window job- the first to replace a non-opening window with an opening window. The second to replace what I thought was a rattling window. Pete came out and discovered that it wasnt my window that was rattling but, actually, the screen in front of the window.
