all around great experience with this company! from my initial contact to request a free estimate for an insulated glass unit replacement to the scheduling of an accurate measurement to install. the people i dealt with were all very nice, courteous and knew what they were doing. it was stress free from start to finish. today chandler arrived to do the install along with two others (brady and colby, i believe?) they were efficient, conscientious of the space, clean, personable and did an amazing job. they even finished far sooner than i was told the install might take. time will tell, especially as the seasons change, but from all i can see right now, including the reuse of the window trim that shows no sign of having been removed, i'd 100% recommend einar johanson for window replacement. they were great to work with--zero regrets in terms of choosing them! read more

This morning Ian, the window installer, called and told me he coming over in 15 minutes. He arrived promptly and prior to starting we discussed the project and what he was going to do before he began. The job was to install a new (3' X 2') basement window in the same location where a previous window had been removed. He walked me through the way he was going to trim out the exterior and interior after installing it. Once completed I was so thoroughly blown away how good it looked. Ian cleaned everything up AND washed the window inside and out so I didn't have to do anything after he left. My experience with Einar Johanson from beginning to end was nothing but top notch. I can't recommend them enough. I had been meeting with different window companies on and off for 2 years mainly because the whole journey seemed overwhelming and stressful. Once Doug came over to quote replacing all the windows in my house, he made it no hassle, enjoyable and zero pressure. I chose this firm based on Yelp reviews and I'm not disappointed. We had a casement window that wouldn't fully close due to settling at one end of our house. A very nice man came to take a look and prepare an estimate; someone else came to take final measurements. It took about 6 weeks from first visit to installation. It's not cheap to remove a window, insert a custom replacement, and then make all of the interior and exterior trim work. But we got a nice window of modest quality (but not low-end). Kudos to our installers.They come into your home with a new window, and don't know exactly what they're going to find. There was some problem-solving involved. They presented me with options and addressed my questions so that I could decide. read more

We needed three diamond shaped windows replaced. After getting feedback from two people in our area who had work done by Einar Johanson, and getting quotes from them and others, we went with Einar. We are extremely please with the workmanship and overall experience. Initial contact was with Heather in the office, who worked to get us an appointment with an sales person. She was professional and polite, and genuinely cared about us and our need. The sales person, Doug, was a no-pressure sales person. He explained the work he thought we would need as well as how they would do the install, plus any painting or other work we would need to do. We decide to go with them, and the wait was not long before our windows were ordered and received by Einar, and ready to install. When it came to the install, we are likewise extremely pleased. Odie was our scheduler, and he worked with me over text (my preference) to schedule the installs. One of the windows proved problematic, as we needed to do a reinstall (due to our house, and not the fault of Einar). We worked with Chandler, Javante, David and Manuel, who we all superb installers. They cared about our home, they were tidy, efficient, and communicated the timelines, plans, and outcomes extremely well. I appreciated how Mark, who installed the window opening control devices, took time to explain how the devices worked and made sure they were installed where I wanted them. John, who did the critical measurements and came back to fix one of the window opening control devices, was clearly very experienced and he was happy to answer questions and offer advice, and he was always prompt and efficient. They were just fine. The consultant wasn't very informative about what kind of windows they would be installing. The installers did the bare essentials of the job but nothing more. Which would normally be fine but now I have old locks for the windows that are hanging by on the window sill. And one of the windows stopped opening easily and should have been replaced. And they left my blinds on the ground and wouldn't put them back up on the new windows. And some of the screens that they put on were damaged. And door seals that they used aren't in place so they're loose now and don't really fit. Now that I write it all out, I'm pretty irritated Reply to business: lol wonder if there could be more than one person living in my house who could have set up the appointment? read more

I followed up with EJ specifically because they'd come in with a competitive bid... but mostly I just liked Earl, the sales person... he's just really a really kind, warm human that provided wise guidance and I never caught the faintest whiff of salesy stuff. I hired Einar Johanson to replace six windows: two large pictures windows and 4 single hungs. I love that it's a local, family owned business. While their installation guarantee is only good for a year, I had no reasons to believe they would do a mediocre job, especially with all the wonderful reviews endorsing their workmanship and professionalism. On the other hand, my experience didn't align with the other reviewers. Of the 4 single-hungs Einar Johanson installed, two won't close fully for the sash locks to work. When I called to discuss the issue, the scheduler suggested that it's my fault: "if the workers could lock them, I don't understand why you couldn't." Not only could I not lock them, I couldn't even get two of the windows to close fully to lock. I can't close an open windows fully and it's my fault? Only two of the windows won't come down fully, but that's two too many. I blame myself for not doing a walk-through with them when the work was completed. It was late and they worked full day. They said everything is done, and I took their words for it. Upon close inspection, I found that two of the sash locks show wear and tear. For that kind of wear and tear to exist, it's hard to believe there's no installation issues. If not that, the part they used were not brand new. I couldn't get the windows to close fully to lock them. If the installers did lock them, I can only imagine the force used to cause such wear and tear. That doesn't look brand new and clearly suggests something isn't right. They will come back to examine the windows and take it from there. They couldn't give me a window of arrival. The scheduler told me it will be a Monday because "we use Mondays for things like this, and there are two customers before you." The scheduler said the technician will give me a call when he's on his way. I don't mind standing by, but I really wish the job was done right the first time. I will provide an update after the issue is addressed. UPDATED APRIL 20th, 2022. Einar Johanson sent an installer back to adjust the brand new windows on April 4th. The installer didn't have the right sash locks to replace the worn ones. Another gentleman stopped by a few days later to replace them. The first installer mentioned that Simonton Windows have the best seal in the industry and because of that sometimes their weather stripping could make closing the windows a little bit challenging, and that Einar Johanson had to do several of readjustment to windows just like mine. It sounds like this is a known issue. Still, why wasn't this first inspected after installation was beyond me. But I also hold myself responsible for not double checking the installation before the installers left. Having said that, I really liked that they are responsive. If unexpected repairs have to happen, I would rather communicate with a local, family-owned business than a national store. Everyone at Einar Johanson was friendly and I appreciate their offer to resolve the issue. For that, I am changing the ratings from 3 to 4 stars. read more

I've used Einar Johanson for both window and door installation. They are wonderful to work with, and they do such high-quality work. All the windows in my house needed to be replaced because they had started to severely leak (the prior owner had shimmed all the windows to fit, even though they were too small.) The folks at Einar Johanson were responsive, showed up on time, and were very willing to work around some difficult scheduling situations. Properly fitted windows make such a different with energy consumption, and they're now totally leak-proof! Because I'd had such great experiences with them, I also used them to replace my front door. They helped me pick out a good one that seems very durable and once again were very easy to work and schedule with. We hired Einar Johanson to replace three large windows. We wanted to swap out the existing ones for ones that would open, but these were LARGE windows with odd dimensions (all three different). Everyone we worked with was super nice and incredibly professional. On the day of the install, the guys took care to protect the floors and walls from any damage or dust. They ended up needing to do some extra trimming (including tile trimming, unexpectedly), and everything was done to the highest standards.
