I've always have a wonderful experience when I go in there. I wish I knew the two gentleman that I usually see but they automatically recognize me and give me a friendly welcome. They're both extremely welcoming and quick to help. Although they know what I come in there for usually, I do sometimes get other things and have questions on other products for which they are both very knowledgeable and ready to help! I find the prices very reasonable and they have good sales. I am not a part of the companies rewards program but I heard from many others that it's a very good program to be a part of if you're a reg customer. I have nothing bad to say whatsoever about this location or their service or my experiences. I do recommend this place! If they don't have something there you're looking for, they'll look to find it at another location and even order it for you for pick up. I walked into the store and went looking for what I had come to purchase. They didn't have any on the rack and so I took a paper tag and went to the register with my cart and paper tag. The lady at the register glared at me because she was eating her fruit salad, at the ONLY open register. Her attitude made it very clear that I was disturbing her. When I handed her the tag, she told me to get from the rack, I politely explained that there weren't any. She immediately asked if I was sure......the next five minutes seemed like a ton of confusion between her and the people on the radio but the end result was they didn't have any in stock. I asked her which store did? She told me to call the largest store in the area, the Kent store. I asked if she could do a stock check with them please. She told me that she would give me their number so I could call. I told her exactly how I felt about her customer service and walked out. This employee's behavior means I'll never go back to this store and I strongly suggest that others avoid it too! The Kent and Bellevue stores are waaaaayyyyyy more helpful. Ah ...Harbor Freight is the Bed Bath & Beyond for the manly set. Like BB& B: - you can always shop here with a coupon. - Most everything is from Asia. - Most product quality is adequate. - Returns are easy. Unlike BB&B, you can't register here for a wedding. I am partial to fine tools. Stahlwille, Hazet, Gedore, Proto, Long C Craftsman, Rockwell and so on. Where HF fits in is for the tool that you will only use once or twice before it breaks. So it's cheaper to buy HF than rent. Plus ever since they closed the Sears on 1st Ave S., it is the easiest tool store for me to visit. People in the grease pits say HF quality has improved. Such as their bad ass rechargeable 3/4" impact. I have no direct experience here. But let the buyer beware. Based on my experience, nothing from HF will be supporting the weight of my car, compressing air or welding things together. And I am not even buying tools to earn a living anymore. My most recent HF failure was a $15 (with coupon) tailpipe expander. Failed in first use. The return for credit was no hassle. Couple cut off wheels purchased on same visit shattered at 50% of rated speed. Also purchased were rubber gloves, a plunger and paper towels which all worked fine and would go on my wedding registry without any shame. Swallow your pride and give HF a cautious chance. read more

This is a real Alladin's cave of delights for the home handyman! THE ROSES: Easy to find location with plenty of parking. Helpful staff. Good selection of tools at incredible prices. THE THORNS: A lot of this stuff is kind of cheap, but if you're just a weekend warrior who occasionally needs tools to make or fix stuff, you tell me what you'll get: a Makita jigsaw for $75, or a 'brand X' jigsaw that does the job just fine for $20? Their stuff isn't Snap-On or even Craftsman, but what the hell; even Craftsman isn't what Craftsman used to be. THE VERDICT: OK tools that will fit the needs of all but maybe full-time professionals for bargain-basement prices. Strong recommend! read more

Joplin mo store. I always stop by this store whenever we come to town. I cruise every isle, and stock up on supplies. But today, I bearly made it into the store and was struck by the loudest, most obnoxious music I'd ever heard. It was basically someone screaming as loud as they could to the worst banging of instruments I've ever heard. A clerk saw my face and asked to help. I just pointed up and said "this music is disgusting, I can hardly think." The clerk just smiled and said "I'm sorry, but corporate let's us play anything we want as long as it's public radio, so..." then he walked off. I tried, and made it another isle, then I realized...i can get all this stuff at home depot! So, just left my basket full of goodies and walked out. I felt better as soon as I got out of there. Don't know if this is what you wanted, but I will take my money somewhere they appreciate older citizens (with money to spend) by creating a comfortable shopping environment and have more considerate employees. March 7th 2019 7:30 PM the cashier working tonight is very contrary. She admonished me for not presenting my purchases in the "correct" manner. Another customer came in with a problem rather than showing empathy she scolded him to the point he left stating he would go to the other harbor freight location. When I first saw this location opened close to our neighborhood, was eager to check it out as I really haven't been to any others but we're definitely aware of the company from their catalogs and fliers. I had a little project coming up and I stopped by to see what kind of goods and products they had there. Some things are unbelievably affordable and I would expect the quality to be in line with the cost. I did find a couple electric bullhorns for my friends two sons. But I did pick up a few miscellaneous tools and I was happy with the price and quality. At this point I'm not sure if there is a reason that I would go back specifically to this store compared to Home Depot or some large hardware retailers, except for tools specific to working on cars. The store is very clean, well organized and roomy. The staff is good, although I didn't get help identifying tools, just checking out. I'll be happy to go again if I need a micrometer or some specialized tool for my belt! read more

Go in with a plan and clip or take pictures of coupons otherwise you will be paying more than you should. Its frustrating but do you home work ahead as nobody like the guy in line trying to find "that one coupon for 20% off" but only seems to be able to find expired ones... ugh, its annoying but this is the game they play here, if your smart you can get save close to 50% on average, and the tools arent of the highest quality so when they break, and they will break, you wont be losing any sleep over it. read more

Harbor Freight Tools = cheapest Chinese tools available. That said, the cheap cr*p they sell is really, really cheap. They are in a beautifully renovated building which used to belong to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and they've taken the lit sign that used to have an eagle on it and turned it in to a round TOOLS sign with two amorphous tentacle-like white things coming out of the top - GENIUS! Anyway, just like any other Harbor Freight, though this one is a bit newer so it is cleaner and a little more well lit than some others I've been to. read more

Great place to get everything! They run great specials for freebies like tarps and lights with any purchase, even discounted batteries. Occasionally you may run into a cashier that may be a little ...., But I go for the prices and the managers are great. I needed a squeegee for the shower, well under $10 and a ton of foam earplugs were a steel. Just remember to sign up for email specials and BRING THE COUPON, they don't have ads there. read more

Just opened in Georgetown and boy is it great! When I lived in Spokane I used to love to spend a Sunday afternoon in the Harbor Freight store there, this one is so much brighter and if I am working on something it is just a few blocks away to pick up that square bit driver or metric socket that just isn't in my tool box. Small enought that everything is easy to find unlike the big hardware stores farther away. Prices are amazing and the quality is actually very good for what you are paying. Management is a joke here. I'm not a COVID denier but their efforts to reduce risk are flat out stupid. Everyone has to pile up on isle 5 clogging up isles and making it difficult to navigate around. Never mind that there's plenty of room for people to line up 6ft apart at the registers on each side of the entrance door. Enforcement of this idiocy is selective at best so now the person who's been waiting where you would typically wait now has to go to the back of the line. Understaffed too, 5 people on the floor and only two registers open. Lastly they put banquet tables between you and the register so you have to try and lean over a dirty table and get every bit as close to the cashier as you would normally get to use the credit card terminal. It's all theater to make you think there's some thought being applied to ensure the safety of the staff but it's totally useless and just makes things more tedious for the customer. I think I'm just gonna buy my cheap junk on Amazon instead. read more

I went to the Seattle store at Corson Ave s. with my 2 kids today and spent $70.00 on 2 items and received my 2 free gifts. I then decided to purchase a 3rd item that I forgot that i had needed and also to receive the free gift. I had a TOTAL of 3 PEOPLE including me. (me+2 kids =3). coupons stated limit 1 FREE GIFT per CUSTOMER per DAY, the cashier denied my 3rd free gift because one of my kid is 12 yr old. No where in the coupon says there is a age limit to receive a free gift. What a joke she was rude, I wished I had gotten her name. It appears that she needs more additional TRAINING so that she won't disrespect any future customers. read more

I frequent this store often. When it comes to DIY type hardware stores, help can be scarce when they are busy, but when you can find help they bend over backwards for you. Today, August 01, 2018, the African American checker failed to give me my discount, didn't take my phone number so I could get an email receipt I needed and after completing the checkout of half a dozen loose item didi not offer me a bag and when I asked for one she only said "5 cents !" This was the worst experience I have had in typically the three stores I frequent and have done so for years. read more
