Seared Ahi BLT

Came here to end out our Honeymoon/Wedding trip with little bit of family for dinner. Every item we had gotten on our order, was amazing and one of our favorite spots on the island. Food was amazing, the service was a little slow, but we were kind of okay with that because we were all enjoying each others company. Really fun spot and interesting inside. Recommend trying anything on the menu.

so this is a very hard review to do because in general I've came here a couple times when I come to the island and the bartenders are always extremely attentive and kind. I only sit at the bar so this was probably my third night in a row, I have had the jalapeño poppers which are amazing. I was there on Saturday night. Had a couple rounds. All of a sudden a wedding party comes in and the managers kicking everybody out extremely rude no explanations just telling people "get the fuck out". I found it to be so distasteful and abrupt to the environment. I was not returning. I Did want to return on Sunday to see if there would be any apologies, however after experiencing what we're experiencing really left a sour taste in our mouth the manager I hadn't seen there in the last couple days. I was there. She was a lil short with long wavy hair. let me tell you I would've hopped that she was not the owner. The vulgarity that was coming out of her mouth was crazy.

We came here for lunch the other day. It was the perfect choice. We got to sit outside the weather was perfect. Our server was great! She was very friendly and attentive. My daughter and I split the chicken sliders and the Carne Asada fries. My man ordered the fish tacos. We all enjoyed our food. My daughter had a lava flow here for a drink. She thought it was super good. Great lunch spot!!

A gem next to the Kaanapali resort area. Best food in town, of the entire week we were there. Everyone enjoyed their choice. Great service, casual dining inside and outside table - but high end ingredients. Mixed bourbon drink was too sweet, but the bartender gave me an extra shot of bourbon to make it more palatable.

First time visiting Happy Fish while on vacay in Maui and WOW, this place is awesome -- especially for a late night bite!! We unfortunately left it to 8:30pm to find a dinner place (had a full day) and many places were closing soon. I came upon Happy Fish during my research and looked at the menu, everything sounded good. Upon arrival it was ~9pm and they close at 11pm, so still have a few hours. It was actually kinda busy for 9pm. Folks at the bar and a few tables. It was seat yourself though so we grabbed a spot and our waiter came within a couple minutes to greet us and bring waters. I already knew what I wanted: TROPICAL MAHI RICE BOWL: mahi filet over a bed of rice with slaw, mango salsa, poblano sauce, sour cream, cilantro & lime. The mahi was grilled and delicious!! I asked for a side of hot sauce and that completed the dish. Absolute !! The service was really great, I enjoyed Michael and his conversation. He was so interesting and definitely made the experience 5 for us. The other thing I really appreciated about Happy Fish is that they didn't bust your wallet. The prices were competitive and because of that, I'll definitely be back. I saw they have a happy hour menu too 9-11pm, I'm going to try that before I leave along with black light bingo Wednesday nights!! More fun to come and I'll def be telling all my friends and family who come to Maui to hit up Happy Fish. Amazing service, bomb food, great prices, and awesome vibe. Can't ask for anything more!!

We were traveling with three teenage boys who not only have big appetites, but also get bored pretty easily. We found Happy fish on Yelp and went to dinner and wound up staying for bingo on Wednesday! Three adults and three teenagers all had a great time. The food was great. The drinks were wonderful, especially the POG foam covered Mai Tai & Lilikoi Mule.

The name of this place sounded like a poke spot to me but it's really not and fish is actually featured in less than half of the menu. Lots of nice versions of bar favorites. Come during one of their two happy hours (I think it was 9-12 and 5-11pm) It's a nice spot with a breezy and private covered outdoor patio adjacent to a dining area and bar that opens to outside. It's in a strip mall but this spot is really nice. It feels neighborhoody, other groups were clearly a broad range of local residents. This would be a nice place to hang and chill after work, plus they're open til midnight. Non happy hour drinks were fairly priced. Food was good. My fish tacos with mahi were excellent, served with a great pickly slaw. Fish and chips were crisp and piping hot with a decent tartar. The fries were excellent! Come here for a good mix of residents and tourists eating fairly priced dependable meals. Check out my photos for more info. Good spot!

The food was delicious, but the service was appalling. We waited for 10 minutes without any acknowledgment from the waitstaff who were walking around aimlessly. The service was ridiculous, and the ambiance was even more confusing.

This is a great place off the beaten path for drinks and game watching. Tip order at the bar for the best service. There's more TVs than servers so you'll always be able to watch football!

Best server even tho she was slammed made it fun. Best Mai Tai. Cutest bathroom. Yummy shrimp tacos and garlic fries. Bomb happy hour.

Fake bartender who hates his life

WISH WE NEVER GAVE THIS PLACE A CHANCE AND TOOK THE REVIEWS ON TERRIBLE SERVICE MORE SERIOUSLY! The little blonde head curmudgeon has the be the most miserable person on Maui. His face says it all... he hates his life... well go work under a rock buddy...you're in the wrong business! The drinks he made were horrible...taste like syrup and espresso Martini from a machine??? The waitress was super nice though. Absolutely would NOT recommend this place to anyone!!!

Game Day Taco bag special

Pretty good spot to watch some football and grab a couple drinks. Wouldn't recommend the food though. They have a number of tvs and had all the games playing with audio for the featured game. Theres some patio seating too with visibility to the tvs. Buffalo cheese chicken sliders were decent. Toasted, with light blue cheese. The poke bowl was dry, and they don't have any good sauces for it, so that was disappointing. The loaded tail gate taco bag, which is a game day special was awful. Says it comes with waygu beef but it was really just a few dry ground beef crumbs and a few other toppings in a smalll fritos bag. Can't believe they charge $15 for it. The spicy margarita and espresso martini were delicious, and they have a good draft beer selection. The espresso tasted fresh. The service was a little slow but our server did check in occasionally for a water refill.

We were there for happy hour, and had the following: Sweet potato taco - I've never had one in my 69 years, and it won't be my last. The texture of the purple chunks of sweet potato was different, but wonderful. Fish taco - the fish and slaw filling was superb Birria taco - my favorite, with moist birria meat that filled the tortilla Southwest salad - made with romaine (and not organic greens) was excellent. Order a side of dressing, and chicken to make it a full meal. The tacos are street-size but filling, and the beer is cold! Out the door (with tip) for $50, which is a real bargain in Maui. The server (Dan) was friendly, and quick to point out the 3 levels of heat with the hot sauce...the mango habanero should only be used by the adventurous... You're across the street from the water, but ask to be sat outside on the patio - a cool vibe

I really wanted to like it but couldn't understand why this would be so popular? Needed more coconut? Got the toast for dessert, not bad! Overall, this place isn't phenomenal as to reviews mention. Maui brewing is phenomenal!…read more We came on a couple weekdays and a weekend when we were visiting and loved it each time! It's busy, and weekends there can be a wait for the dining area, but usually there's room to sit at the bar. The ahi salad is phenomenal. It's so balanced and filling, and healthy! Also love the cheese they included on it, it was so smooth. Also for drinks, you can't go wrong with beers or a cocktail. My husband loved the beer, and I loved the guava mule. Great experience overall. I would love to come back here if we're staying in the area again. The rest of the menu looked amazing.

Inside is massive with plenty of seating in the dining room, a large bar area with a lot of four-tops and a large horseshoe bar. The outdoor patio is sizable also. There was no room at the bar, so the hostess led the four of us us to a four-top in the bar area. TVs were everywhere and we happened to be there for Monday Night Football, so the place was hoppin'! We only ordered beers and seltzers, we did not try any of the food offerings. Prices were a bit on the high side. Service was friendly but inconsistent. It took a bit of time to get additional rounds. We never saw the same server twice at our table. The place was hopping busy though. For sure I'd recommend even just for a drink. Soak up some suds and soak up some awesome scenery.

Eric is originally from Kansas, and he has the most spectacular curled mustache you have ever seen in your entire life. Perfectly curled, absolutely magnificent. You will not forget this man! His recommendations were wonderful, his timing was perfect, and his personality made the whole meal memorable. You can tell when someone genuinely enjoys what they do, and Eric absolutely has that gift. Captain Jack's, if you're reading this, Eric is a treasure. Take care of this man! Great food is one thing, but service like his is what turns a good restaurant visit into an experience you talk about afterward. We will absolutely be back, and honestly, we're coming back just to see Eric again. The mustache alone deserves five stars. The service makes those five stars a no-brainer. Mahalo, Eric! Unfortunately, like many tourist traps, the food was average at best. The pizza was nothing to brag about. It arrived lukewarm and lacked flavor. The undercarriage (look it up, kids) was doughy. It should be able to support the toppings without struggling. Speaking of toppings, they definitely skimped on the pineapple and fresh jalapeños. I asked for more, but apparently that request went into witness protection because I didn't see my waiter for another 30 minutes after he delivered our food. We easily would have ordered more drinks, but he was nowhere to be found. When I finally spotted him, I literally had to flag him down just to get the check. The table across from us even asked if the pizza was worth ordering. I just gave her the look (insert crying emoji) Maybe some of the other beachfront restaurants are better, but I'd probably come back here for drinks and the atmosphere. That's about it!

I had a hunch which I'd prefer and followed my intuition. The more casual Beach Bar was the vibe I was feeling and its menu set the right tone. If you've wandered over after a day at the beach and want to keep things simple choose Leilani's Beach Bar. Arrive before sunset and get a seat close to where the live music will be played. As I left I was surprised to note how far other diners were from the music. Some folks prefer this but I wanted to be wrapped up in it; a seat right in front of the 3-piece band was perfect. Also perfect? The sunset view. Yes, it's probably more lovely from their upstairs counterpart, but not so different that I regretted the trade-off. Keeping things simple is a good idea here. To accompany the beer and wine at my table an order of onion rings (excellent) was shared. I enjoyed their version of a Cobb Salad and their hyped Fish Tacos ("Voted Maui's Best" supposedly) were said to be good as well. Drinks, appetizer, salad, tacos, music, sunset... That's the way I'd recommend you do Leilani's Beach Bar. There's plenty of similar places nearby (possibly from the same ownership group) and I've been to Hawaii often enough to have garnered the feeling that they're all a bit similar. In this regard, I say keep it simple and casual. Leilani's Beach Bar (no reservations accepted) does just that. I left happy that I'd chosen right.
