My family and I got this for the holidays and the wait was at least 45 minutes. People ahead of us complained waiting 2hrs but I think the line of people waiting comes to show how good the place is. The roasted pork was fresh with crispy skin and the salted chicken was soft and tender. I love the sauces they give which pair well with the meats. (a little brown sauce and fish sauce). We got here on an afternoon as my older sister wanted some bbq pork. They haven't got it in out as it was still roasting so we waited 10 minutes. This is one of those hole in the wall in an immigrant community but it does take credit card which is nice. Line was moving promptly when they bought out the roasted pork. I think it was $13+ per pound for the pork. $21 for the steamed chicken and I think $30+ for roasted duck. Very very fresh. Would recommend. Not an upscale place but a little meat deli that is authentic. Will come back when we in the area. Would recommend. read more

This is my go to place for roasted duck, peking duck, and roasted pork! We have only tried those three mentioned and not the bbq pork, chicken, etc but they do look good! I find that this place has the best quality and price, although I think they went up by $1 for duck for the year 2020, but still cheaper than other places. I don't recommend places like Sam Woo because the meat doesn't taste fresh, particularly the duck, it's mushy... and the skin on the roast pork is not crispy like this place. We haven't had roast pork that's good here in California since I'm from Hong Kong, I know what it's like to eat the "good stuff" when it comes to roast pork and roast duck and this place is not like it is in HK, but it is definitely better than any other asian BBQ place I've tried even in San Gabriel Valley! Although I still wouldn't go to SGV because the prices aren't that great and I'd have to drive real far coming from Orange County. Anyway, this place is awesome for chinese BBQ meats! The owner (usually the man at the cashier) is so friendly and nice! Parking can be a hassle here since it's located in a busy Vietnamese area. However, worth it for the delicious roasted pork and duck. Lines can be long, but the workers are efficient and go as fast as they can. Moves fast. Even if you can't speak Viet, just say "roast pork" or "roast duck" and they will understand. Today is my 2nd time buying food at this store after the 1st time bought roasted duck with wier colored and smell and tasteless roasted pork. 2nd tried after my friend said they have good steamed salted chicken also FAIL. The chicken has been marinated in too much yellow coloring which is not even comes from turmeric, and lots of feathers stays on the chicken skin. When you think of a non-English speaking establishment in a town where Vietnamese is mostly spoken, the surroundings is as expected. They're up-to-date with safety measures because of COVID and were not too busy when I came by. The pork was very yummy and worth going back for another taste. I docked one star because an employee had a slit in the mouth of his mask; there could have been plastic, but I didn't think so. Also, the people handling the food weren't wearing gloves. I get it; before COVID it wouldn't have bothered me as much. And yes, it's not an American restaurant where they're held to a higher standard. But since hygiene is more highlighted now because of COVID, the thought that runs through my head when people are directly handling my food are "WHERE HAVE YOUR HANDS BEEN?" Touching money? The Peking duck at Hao Vi is hands down the best in town. I've tried a few different places and this one is by far the most consistent and the best tasting. Their steamed salted chicken is also super delicious! I'm not sure why they have such a low rating because they definitely deserve to have five stars! Duck for $31+tax, my go to spots was out of duck and I happen to stumble across this place in search of duck. I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, friendly service and most of all the duck. The best I've had in a while, meaty, good size, not too fatty and seasoned perfectly. The boss joked with me about having my duck with a soda and I cheerfully corrected the drink to a cold beer. Whole roast pig is friggin' legit. They no longer carve them for you ahead of time which is a serious bummer (and I almost took off a star for that), but the medium size one is 27-30lb (I think?) of deliciousness that nearly 40 coworkers gobbled down for a work event. The leftovers some of us took home, and the majority of the leftovers went to the lunchroom refrigerator in the office, where they last several days of lunch. Warmed up in the little toaster oven for 20 minutes or so, we could get the skin crispy again, and it was worth every penny. Everything else was disappointing. Salted chicken was bland. They need to add more salt to it. Bbq pork was over cooked and had so many bones. I had never seen bbq pork with bones attached. The pork was way too dried. I couldn't take a second bite. The roasted pork was just ok. The skin was odd color of yellow on the day I got it. It was too hard & can't be eaten.
