I had their crispy pork banh mi and unfortunately the bread was dry and the crispy pork was not crispy but also burnt. I will not be coming back. There was no mayo and no pate in my sandwich also. I do not recommend coming here.

Heard their crispy pork is delicious, but it did not meet my expectations and satisfaction if I do say so myself. I don't know if I came on a bad day or they just gave me old ass meat, but the crispy pork's skin was not crunchy, meat tasted bland, and the texture was rather dry than juicy. The roast duck on display looked unnaturally red probably because they put too much red dye food coloring. I barely saw burn marks on it for it be consisted roasted. The chicken looks skinny and on a diet. I'm just being honest and transparent, alright. I ordered their roast pork rice for $13. You get tons of rice, about less of a quarter pound of roast pork, a tiny portion of salad, and Cha Siu bbq sauce that tasted too sweet and sticky. I think it's not worth the price. They also sell roast pork by pound for $18! OG bbq spots like Lien Hoa sells it cheaper and tastes waaay better. Don't get me wrong though, this place is known for the banh mi, but the meat is lacking. Based from other people's reviews, there are times when they run out of banh mi, like does it take long to make more banh mi...? That's a question, not ignorance lol. Only reason why I gave them a 2 star is because the young lady who helped me was polite and patient, that's it. Maybe next time I should come try their Banh mi, but they are other good spots like Banh Mi Saigon or Carrot Daikon. Thank you for your time and consideration, Mahalo!

Another Bahn mi spot in little Saigon area Ample parking and quick service... I appreciate that you can see them "cooking" your protein items in front of you.. overall their sandwiches are pretty good

Đặc biệt special sandwich with some special sauce that was good, but not if you want your đặc biệt to taste like what you thought

Wanted to get Vietnamese food and kind of hankering for bún riêu from Lá Xanh, a place I wanted to share with my man, but the place I like had a line out the door on a Sunday afternoon so I opted for sushi at King Eel Sushi Bento (that knows me bc i always order the same thing - notice a pattern about me?) but they're closed Sundays. I wanted to head toward direction of home and navigated to Khoi hung but as I was driving past I saw this place's sign off the road and decided to do a quick Yelp search. They just opened so into the strip mall I turned to see what this place is all about. It's a good amount of parking so that was nice. We ordered mango tea with boba and grilled pork sandwich for him, and for me, mango smoothie with the Dặc biệt special sandwich no jalapeños cut in half. Server had to double check they had enough to do the bánh mì đặc biệt special sandwich for me. She asked if I wanted one, but probably meat they only had enough for 1 before 1pm on a Sunday. An older gentleman was waiting when we got there ans 20 minutes later he just asked if they had the order because if not he wants to cancel it. They had it right when he said that so staff could use some help. There's a single outdoor table outside so we opted to sit there on the nice sunny Sunday afternoon. Order takes a bit but so if you're in a hurry don't do it - they're new and staff is small, so thought I'd give it a whirl. They have this other dish (grilled pork) I like but it's only served on rice where this is typically with vermicelli (bún thịt nướng). I think they'd do better with making vermicelli instead of rice dishes. Curious to try their Peking duck and char Síu - without the traffic and hassle of dealing with the place I like on Bolsa in Westminster where it's too congested. Between inventory and wait time I'm a little ambivalent on my wanting to go but will see how this sandwich tastes when I get it (still waiting) Update: sandwiches seem to come with this sauce they throw into every sandwich. I'm a creature of habit so when I go to a Vietnamese sandwich place I always order the same thing: đặc biệt without jalapeños cut in half. Their bread is good but the meats inside and sauce are slightly different so while it was good, it wasn't what I had in mind. Same thing with the boba, which wasn't boba but a round grass jelly. Not saying it was bad per se, just not boba. PROS: friendly service (apologized for wait time), support small business, good food, ample/easy parking CONS: wait time, limited inventory, different taste/take on some generic dishes/drinks. Maybe a proper (or improper) analogy is like wanting to go on the date with the dark haired guy and getting his blonde friend instead who was maybe just as nice, but not what you came in wanting in the first place. Might go back idk lol

I had a craving for roast duck late Sunday evening and was worried all the standard Chinese bbq places would be sold out already, but luckily as I walked in here, they were hanging a freshly roasted duck. I ordered a whole duck and a roast pork combo tray with banh hoi. They have several combination plate options to choose with rice or banh hoi with your choice of protein. I only wish my combo plate had more veggies to wrap with the roast pork. I also seemed to have some pork with crispy skin but some not crispy at all. Overall, would come back for a quick meal if needed. Though the duck is slightly more expensive here, still hits the spot in a pinch.

    1. The pork belly was crispy, and the rice was enough portion! The coffee was well-crafted! 2. The spot had fun casual vibes! Interior is cozy! 3. The staff was friendly and timely with my order! The order was ready in about 10 mins! 4. There was only indoor seatings! There are few tables! 5. Parking lot has a lot of spots! However, it can get crowded depending on time and day! Note: This spot does not have their own restrooms! Photo: Ca Phe Sua Da and Com Heo Quay

Kind of want to gate keep this spot. Walking in I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the place was. They do use square to take card! And still had duck in the evening. The duck chef even said thank you for supporting them ;;. Its a small parking lot plaza kind of like near aromatics. For a chinese person, my family said the duck is different than roasted peking duck and has a more braised profile. The skin (soft chewier) and meat is juicier than crispy roasted duck, but they cooked it on the tender side that you even get the wings (no burnt parts). Its sweeter than what im used to, but they do give you the five spiced sauce to go with it so I assume itd be easy to broil and crisp up in the oven. They put day lily into the duck juice to create a caramelized side dish. Satisfactory portion and good packaging, would recommend double bagging. The spring rolls were good too. The pork part is fattier, but each spring roll was wrapped up nicely and tender. Vegetable is lettuce rather than herbs, but overall very fresh. The sauce again is on the sweeter side but the peanut fragrance is strong. If you come and never had these dishes, be sure to ask about allergies. I liked how this place puts small sides of pickled/veg items to counterbalance the flavors. They also sell banh mis. Overall, I found my experience very pleasant. Inside was super clean, spacious, and the prices are pretty good. The bbq is on the sweeter side.

The Bánh Mì Heo Quay was so good! I really liked the bread because it wasn't super hard or sharp where it cuts the top of your mouth. The crispy pork belly was really good and super crispy too, and the fish sauce leaned more on the sweeter side, which I liked. The pickled vegetables were cut thinly, so they didn't overpower the bite or get in the way while eating. New favorite bánh mì spot for sure!

Easy parking + small family business + clean, small to-go restaurant. We got the grilled pork belly with rice ($13) and another grilled pork belly with rice vermicelli ($16). You can see them prepare your food behind the kitchen! Food was good, my grandma really liked it.

After watching a YouTube video of this restaurant, I decided to stop by and pick up some grilled (bbq?) chicken. It looks nice and lean on YouTube. Restaurant is still on the soft opening so there was hardly anything there. A few pieces of bbq meat hanging on the hooks and few pre-packaged spring rolls. That's it. The lady at the front desk was nice and pleasant. She said, unfortunately, they didn't have any chicken today. Bummer. I should have called before getting there. It was literally out of my way but I made the effort to get there because of that chicken. Be careful driving through that area though, especially the parking lot. Not the best.

Not bad on the roasted duck. Ordered half. Don't know what took so long to chop the darn thing. Also ordered pork skewer, which was a little dry. Flavor was good, however. Price was average. I would return for a few other tempting items such as dragon fruit smoothies. Overall, it was typical of Vietnamese food take places. This one did have a good English speaker. They also had roasted bbq duck towards the end of the day. Most other shops selling bbq duck would be closed by then.

Came across this new soft opening on Yelp, and saw the crispy heo quay banh mi and had to give it a try! I stopped by on a Sunday late afternoon, and it wasn't too crowded, very clean and spacious. I was greeted by a sweet family when I walked in. I ordered my heo quay banh mi with a nuoc mia drink for only $6 and the drink was huge! It was super tasty and I was surprised by the size I got because most places serve way smaller sizes. As I waited for my banh mi to be made, they offered me samples of the char siu and heo quay to taste. The service was great and the family was super friendly and sweet. My order finally came out and the banh mi was sOoooo good! They definitely were generous with the portions. I'll be back to try one of their best sellers, the banh hoi heo quay. They will be selling more items as some aren't listed on the menu yet. Stop by and support their soft opening! You won't regret it.

Was in the same plaza for something else and saw this place. Very new, very clean and has the roasted duck, roasted pork and crispy pork hanging. Ordered the crispy pork sandwich and 2 type of eggrolls and the pate chaud for $15 with tip. Easy order with friendly staff but it took over 10mins for a sandwich. The place is big inside but most of the space is for the kitchen therefore small for customers area and seating area. They do have couple tables outside of seating. The place is cleaned and bright with plenty of food choices and drinks too. Alright, what went wrong, the bread seems like from yesterday and just reheated and crunchy outside but chewy inside. The crispy pork skin is hard and tough to bite into, the favor is there but just not worth it from chewing the skin and the bread. I ate 1/2 after purchased and left the other 1/2 for later and hopefully the skin soften. After 1.5hrs later, the bread just harden and stale and the skin is softened but chewy. Overall abit disappointed since they do have several appealing dishes that I would like to get if the pork is good. Sadly it's not. The eggrolls, I got one with regular wrapper, which is fine (nothing standout) and the other is with rice paper, which is abit salty and 2X the cost then the regular. Both are abit disappointed. The pate chaud is okey to say the least, especially I love and ate a lot of these from many places within little Saigon. The service is great, the place is great, but unfortunately the foods are not...just from my personal preferences.

Over all those years, they have never disappointed me and continue to serve really good food. I usually get the beef brisket pho and it's really good. The noodles are just the right texture, the broth is clean and flavorful, and the meat tastes fresh and tender. Their dui bo is also very good, but usually runs out after 1:00 or 2:00 pm, since they only have a limited amount of this item every day. The meat is fall off the bone tender and has a more fatty flavor to it. It usually sits in some broth that absorbs that beefy and fatty flavor from the bone. A great addition to any bowl of pho. Alternatively, I sometimes also get the bun thit nuong and it's very good. The eggrolls it comes with is wrapped with rice paper, so when it's fried up, it has such a satisfying crunch and texture to it. The thit nuong is has a nice smokey, grilled flavor to it. The shrimps are okay as well. This is a very satisfying and filling dish, so if you're looking for a high volume dish, this may be the one to get. Expect long lines during peak hours. I can confirm though that the wait is worth it! Service is always very good. The ambiance on the inside is fine, very plain and unassuming in my opinion. We started with the Vietnamese coffee ($7), which was bold, strong, and nicely balanced with the sweetness from the condensed milk. A great way to kick things off. The egg rolls ($10) were packed with beef, shrimp, wood ear mushroom, and vermicelli--crispy on the outside and paired perfectly with fresh lettuce and fish sauce. The standout for me was the flaming wagyu ($18), torched tableside. For how thick the cut was, it was incredibly tender and soft. Definitely go medium rare. The ponzu dipping sauce really enhances the richness of the beef. We also tried the shaken beef ($21), which came with plenty of caramelized onions and bell peppers that added a subtle sweetness. The beef was slightly charred, bite-sized, and super satisfying--especially with rice. The combo pho ($25) came loaded with a variety of meats, all tender and melt-in-your-mouth. The broth had a deep, beefy richness, and the noodles were perfectly soft. Add in the garnishes for some crunch and it really ties everything together.
