    Let's eat at Bun Vit!

Bun Vit is a small restaurant...saw the crowd and decide to write my name down to eat. The restaurant is a no-frills spot that's well known for their steamed chicken noodle soup -- there's also a duck version. After sitting and given the menu -- several options all focused on the chicken. Simple food done right. I understood and the food lives up to the hype. The broth is clean, comforting, and full of flavor without being too heavy. The chicken is tender and simple. It's the kind of bowl that feels homemade and satisfying. The restaurant itself is pretty small, so seating can feel a bit tight during busy hours. Parking is also limited, so you might have to circle around or wait for a spot if it's peak time.

Oh my gosh my favorite place in OC for sure. Love loved every fish from here. The chicken, soup, duck porridge, crispy rice for extra ten min, and salad everything was amazing tasted and sooo good. I will definitely come back here again. The service can work on the little better, the servers were just ok.

The food here is good! Steamed chicken and a bowl of chao really hits the soul. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful. The service is good, we were one of the first tables to be seated. It's rustic inside and there's not plenty of seating available. There is a waitlist sometimes especially during lunch.

If you are ever craving Mien (clear noodle soup), you should definitely come here! They basically only sell Mien, Bun (vermicelli rice noodles), and Com (rice) here and you have a choice of getting it with duck (vit) or chicken (ga). Since duck is in the restaurant name, we had to try the duck! We got a Bun Vit and a Mien Vit. The noodles were al dente and the soup was delish! The side salad goi had only cabbage, cilantro and fried shallots. We realized there were a jar of onions on the side you can add in. We really appreciated the fresh onions and fresh chili paste as condiments. The fish sauce was seasoned perfectly-- right amount of umami, sweetness and acidity! I brought my mother who is picky with Vietnamese food, and she praised their fish sauce and the freshness of the duck, as well as the duck being cooked perfectly! We will definitely come back!

This place absolutely blew me away. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food. We ordered congee with duck breast as well as chicken breast, and it was prepared very well. They had a ginger sauce that was kind of sweet and kind of savory at the same time! I felt like I could drink the sauce because of how good it was. The duck breast was very juicy very tender and not dry at all. It had so much flavor in it and I really wanted more after I was done with it. They also had a rice plate version with the duck breast. On the rice plate, they had some pickled veggies and I ate that all up. The price of everything was very reasonable to me. I didn't think it was out of the ordinary at all. I believe everything was around like $15-$20 so not too crazy to ask for. The service was also very great. The bathrooms were clean. The interior of the restaurant was very clean as well. The parking was also not hard to advocate. There was enough parking for the time that we went there, which was around noon. I think this place is located near Seafood Cove 2. so the location is great because there's a few other restaurants to check out and many other drinks places to check out too!

    #7. Grilled/Steamed Rice with Duck Salad ($15.99). 8/10/2025

Just wanted to write a quick update on my to-go experience. I ordered #8. Grilled/Steamed Rice with Duck Salad with leg meat ($16.99) and it was packed very well. Nothing was leaking and everything still tasted fresh after a 40 minute ride home. Ordering over the phone was slightly challenging due to the language barrier. But it worked out in the end. The parking lot here is so frustrating if you don't come early on the morning because its so limited.

came here after seeing a review on tiktok and wanted to try it out, my family and I got the porridge with duck salad and also the rice plate with chicken salad. We really enjoyed the food and that everything was flavored pretty well and portions were fair. I enjoyed the fact that the salad was also dressed on the bottom of the duck. It wasn't just plain vegetables. You also get free ice or hot tea when you dine in. Overall, I would definitely come back. I enjoyed the food and they also cut the meats in a way that's easy to eat. Service was quick, and all of the orders were made correctly, ambience is updated and clean inside. Ample parking is available in the lot

There isn't many tables inside and that is why it's easy to get a long queue outside waiting for the table. I stopped by on a weekday evening and it isn't crowded but the servers seem very busy running back and forth. The foods are solid and the portions are great. I would recommend ordering half a duck (which will get you complimentary salad) then just order two or three bowls of noodles depending on your party size, rather than get an individual for everyone. When you order half a duck, they seem to put various parts of the duck so it gets more diverse. Keep in mind that they charge a dollar each for the extra fish sauce.

Bun Vit Thanh Da is a solid go-to spot if you're craving bun and chao vit/ga. You can really tell the duck and chicken are fresh. The meat comes out tender, juicy, and full of flavor, not dry at all. The nuoc mam dipping sauce is perfectly balanced, not overly salty or sweet, which makes each bite even better. And the chao vit is delicious, comforting, savory, and done just right. Simple menu, well executed dishes, and quality ingredients. Definitely a popular spot for a reason. Will be back when the bun + chao vit craving hits again.

Bun Vit Thanh Da. They specialize in all kinds of duck meat. I'm not too crazy about duck so I ordered the glass noodles with chicken and bamboo shoots. It was served piping and very delicious. I requested chicken breast with no skin and they did it exactly as ordered. The chicken was nice and juicy and not dry at all. It also comes with a side order of cabbage and ginger fish sauce. Everything was so good. There was a long line at the door though so be prepared to wait for a bit. Will be back soon with the family.

Pretty spacious restaurant. The food tasted pretty clean and healthy. The chicken and duck were pretty juice and most unlike some other places. The our server was also patient and attentive when we first walked in.

Yummy duck and chicken meal! We got the duck with glass noodle, chicken with porridge, grilled crispy rice with chicken salad. Each dish comes with salad and flavorful! Good portion too, our favorite is the duck with glass noodle, the duck is very soft and meaty. Soup base has a clear taste.

Duck Noodle Soup is rare in the US. As a fan of Duck Noodle Soup, I am always on the lookout for a restaurant serving this wonderful dish. I was lucky to stumble upon Bun Vit Thanh Da while looking for a noodle cafe in Westminster last weekend. I was there mid-afternoon and noticed it was quite busy but not packed, a good sign that the place is still popular and a good time of day to get a seat to dine in. Here's my review of the dishes I ordered. Duck (Rice) Noodle Soup - 4/5. Obviously, we ordered the signature dish, which comes in three parts: a plate of duck meat, a bowl of duck soup with rice noodles, and a small bowl of dipping sauce. The duck meat is served on a bed of cabbage, garnished with peanuts and fried shallots, on a separate plate. The duck has bones still intact and is boiled. No knives and forks, you have to eat them Asian style with chopsticks and your hands.  Duck meat has a good texture and is tender; it wasn't overcooked or tough. Taste-wise, I thought it lost some of its flavor, but I am nitpicking here. Overall, the meat is good. They use good-quality noodles that taste fresh and are properly cooked to the right texture. The duck soup is well-balanced, clear, and clean, with flavors of duck, fish sauce, and light spices. My only gripe with the soup is that it doesn't have enough duck stock. I thought a more meaty flavor would undoubtedly enhance the soup. Then there's the dipping sauce made with fish sauce and what appears to be duck fat/meat juice. Tip: add fresh red chillies to the jug on each table for the dipping sauce; the condiment really takes the sauce to the next level. Duck congee - 5/5. This is the congee with the same consistency as the Cantonese congee. It has a duck flavor that adds savory depth without overpowering the dish. The dish is garnished with generous portions of fried shallots, cilantro, and ginger strips. A good hearty congee that complements the duck meat.

Over all those years, they have never disappointed me and continue to serve really good food. I usually get the beef brisket pho and it's really good. The noodles are just the right texture, the broth is clean and flavorful, and the meat tastes fresh and tender. Their dui bo is also very good, but usually runs out after 1:00 or 2:00 pm, since they only have a limited amount of this item every day. The meat is fall off the bone tender and has a more fatty flavor to it. It usually sits in some broth that absorbs that beefy and fatty flavor from the bone. A great addition to any bowl of pho. The eggrolls it comes with is wrapped with rice paper, so when it's fried up, it has such a satisfying crunch and texture to it. The thit nuong is has a nice smokey, grilled flavor to it.
