Located in next to the Lion Market in Milpitas. This is a great wholesale market for Chinese dim sum, steamed buns, char siu bao, and other Chinese delicacies.

To be honest I don't usually like them just because they tend to be a little too flaky and dry for my preference, but curiosity got the best of me when I saw the flavors options here! I wasn't sure if the filling was going to be like bean paste; I'd say it turned out to be very similar to chinese "wife cake" filling, which has a slight chew to it. Flavors on display included rose, coconut, matcha, ube, black sesame, and chestnut. My favorites ended up being the black sesame and rose. They also have other handmade pastries available too!

Stumbled in here while waiting for my order next door at Highland Noodles- turns out that brothers both own each establishment! There was a plethora of dumplings and traditional Chinese handcrafted desserts to choose from. I was also offered a few different samples of desserts that all brought back some fond childhood memories. I ended up buying a box of the red bean mochi, the peanut crunch pastry, and the beef biscuits (total came out to be a little over $37). The quality and freshness of the desserts really stood out on top of the authenticity to what you would get if you bought these in the streetcarts of China. I had to share with my parents and we all really enjoyed the snacks. Can't wait to come back and try some more!

Very authentic northern chinaware pastries! They have a big variety of all sorts. The frozen dumplings are tasty. They also make some items like beef pancakes fresh at the store. Though they don't have dining area. Wish they at least put some chairs for people who are waiting for the food.

Friendly and the mung bean cakes are a must as they are not too sweet and so soft! They are decadent and perfect with a tea or coffee

A fantastic selection of pastries and baos are available from Hansons Pastry, which really enhances the flavor experience. Their assortment of baos, which includes vegetarian and traditional pork selections, tender steamed buns and delectable fillings. Every mouthful combines flavors and textures in a pleasing way. Pastry lovers should not miss Hanson's Pastry as well because it is a haven for people looking for both classic and inventive baked treats.

$22 for 50 is decent price for hand made dumplings.. tons of restaurants sell this. Checking out this new place. After I cooked 15 in just water and a little drizzle of olive oil. I made the sauce, just grind garlic, soy sauce, Sriracha, and a teaspoon of sesame oil... My personal recipe. Anyways, first bite, I was a little disappointed.. not much meat and no shrimp.. usually for three treasures, u get a shrimp... It looks like the filling is mostly chives with some pork and eggs..no shrimp. They probably have dried tiny shrimp in there... I guess u get what u pay for ...usually the three treasure is $26... And up to $30 in Milpitas square restaurants or north San Jose. I usually get it from the restaurant on Jacklin... Hidden gem. Guess it's all about rent.. cheaper rent and out of the way... I would not buy again...it is essentially light version... At least I'm not full... It's like bud light. Less filling...

I bought a bag of frozen XLB, flavorful, however, the meat is not bouncy, I wish they could do a better job in mixing it. There's soup inside the XLB, very fat tho. I will try other places.

My second time here for lunch. There's no wait on a weekday last time. 3 of us came here on…read moreSaturday around noon, and had to wait for about 20 minutes for a table, which wasn't bad at all. Even though their parking lot had a lot of cars, it's so big that there're still plenty of spaces. Their inside was huge as well. Because of the high ceiling, it didn't feel too crowded, even though it was packed. They had a lot of servers, too, though getting the attention of one took a while. Our server highly recommended their sea bass 2 ways (congee and chow fun) on their daily special menu. We would have ordered that if they still had fish at ~2lb, but they only had fish at ~3lb, which would be too big for us, as we would like to order some dim sum as well. So, we just ordered from their dim sum menu. The 2 different house teas we ordered came out pretty quickly, but it took a while for the food to come. The Sauteed Turnip Cake in XO Sauce was the dish I liked the most. It could still use more XO sauce, though. Pork & Crab Roe Siu Mai was gigantic; taste was normal. I wished they had chili sauce at the table. We're too busy catching up and didn't bother to flag down someone to get some. The Fried Bean Curd Skin Roll w/ Shrimp was not bad, just a bit oily. The Fried Chinese Donut Wrapped in Rice Noodle w/ Dried Shrimp was on point; it came with a peanut sauce on the side. The Chicken Feet w/ Black Bean Sauce were well cooked and off the bones. The Salted Egg Yolk Lava Black Bun wasn't too sweet; the inside was more runny than we expected. We're already stuffed after having 6 dim sum dishes. Overall, dim sum was solid, but on the more expensive side. While their service was typical for a Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area, they did apply a 16% service charge to the bill automatically, which was stated on their menu.

Went to HL Peninsula, and it was aggressively packed! We came on a Sunday morning and waited over…read morean hour and a half for a party of five, so come prepared. In my opinion, their system for waiting for tables is a bit chaotic. They do not ask for your phone number; instead, they print out a receipt with a number and call it out when your table is ready. There is a monitor inside the restaurant that you can watch, but since it's so crowded and the way the system is displayed on the screen, it's kind of hard to tell what is going on or what your status is. Service-wise, it's exactly what you would expect from any Chinese restaurant serving dim sum, if you know what I mean. :) Inside, the restaurant is very spacious and large, and I am assuming the reason for the long wait is that it's one of only two places to get dim sum in Milpitas (the other being Mayflower in the other highly packed plaza nearby). They do not serve dim sum with the traditional cart system where dishes are rolled around the dining room. Instead, you order from a menu and mark down how many quantities you want of each item. My family got a variety of dishes, but I'll call out some notable ones: * Their shu mai was juicy and packed with meat, probably one of the best shu mai I've had in the South Bay. * Their har gow skin broke apart really easily, which bummed me out, but it was generously stuffed with shrimp. * My favorite dish was their purple rice rolls. It was basically a Chinese donut stuffed with shrimp and wrapped in a purple glutinous rice roll. * The chicken feet were very balanced and not too sweet. * The truffle scallop dumpling had a rich mushroom flavor, and the scallop added a nice flavor profile. * The BBQ pork was coated well with the char siu sauce. It was tender and bold in flavor. Overall, my experience here was great, but I do not think it warranted more than a 30-minute wait. The food also came out a bit slowly in my opinion, but that was probably due to the high volume of people.

Chicken feet came out first, this is my mom's go-to, however, I actually quite enjoyed this. Seasoned nicely, and the texture was JUST right, not too soft nor chewy, would order again Next was the Har gow and shrimp rice rolls. These 2 are my usuals and I thoroughly enjoyed both. The dough of both dishes were steamed nicely and the portion of the rice rolls were very impressive (6 shrimps per portion). Now the fried shrimp beancurd rolls were surprisingly extremely underrated. They were crispy on the outside yet the shrimp filling was bountiful and delicious, 100% worth ordering. XLB were forgettable. Unfortunately we did also order the pork spare ribs in black bean sauce and siu mai but they never arrived so we ended up canceling them.

Once our food was in though, it was a while before our dishes were served. They slowly kind of trickled in so once we finished with a couple of dishes, the other ones would come out. At the end though, we had finished all the food and were waiting on 1 more dish that we had thought they forgot about. We had to wait for a while for it to come out but after it came out, we just paid the check right away. The dishes themselves were pretty good. I really enjoyed the siu mai as it was large and firm/crunchy (something that I didn't expect siu mai to be). My favorite dish was the rice noodle roll with crunchy shrimp as there was a difference in texture between the soft rice roll and the fried shrimp that kinda reminded me of the texture of youtiao. Overall a pretty solid choice for dim sum though it is on the pricier side.

Steam table includes charshu pork, braised pork, soy chicken and more. The braised pork had the roast pork but cooked on soy sauce based sauce with a hint of spicy. The soy chicken had lemongrass and garlic flavor. Charshu bbq red pork was slightly sweet and tasted like bacon but a little gamey. Pork fried rice was well seasoned.
