My all time fav, Mala (numbing spicy hot) beef tendon. Perfect every time!
Gina C. M.

Great food, great prices, great attitude. Beef tendon is so tender and broth always flavorful - you can tell lots of love and heart goes into every component of the food. They don't skimp on ingredients. Each bite and gulp is goodness to be savored! Love that they have specials and a rotating menu. I have ventured and tried several items. Tasty every time! 1 thing that I always come back to faithfully is their Mala (numbing spicy hot) tendon. Better than any restaurant. Every few weeks I MUST have my PM2 fix. Love PM2! Seeing this family just makes me feel warm and happy to be supporting local merchants with a small business. No matter what customization I ask for, I get. Very accommodating! They always get my order perfect, just the way I want. I am very impressed with their consistent quality and service. Unbeatable! You can find them on Facebook where they have weekly offerings for pick up at various convenient locations around the bay. Cash only.

Okay, I LOVE anything taro. ESPECIALLY taro balls! So when I heard about this food truck that served taro ball desserts, I drove 30 minutes to Milpitas just to try some! I got #2, which had grass jelly, taro balls, and red bean. There was cream that was given on the side, but I personally didn't put it on and thought it was sweet just as it was. At around $5, I thought it was pretty pricey, but the bowl is kind of big, so I guess.. The dessert was pretty yummy. The chewiness of the taro balls were kind of inconsistent in that some would be nice and chewy and some would be harder. Overall, I'd probably go back again because of my love for anything taro, but I wouldn't RAVE about it. They have a schedule of when and where you can find them on their website, so be sure to check it before you go! Currently, they are typically found only in the weekends. :)

What's up with the jelly today?! It's so watery and goopy. Still has good flavor but it's not jelly anymore just mush.

If there was a hoarders competition for grass jelly, I think my stomach would win 1st place. Grass jelly, git in mai belly! I absolutely LOVE grass jelly and of course, I'm picky about it. So when I heard of this place, I had high hopes for their grass jelly. Expectations were somewhat met, the grass jelly was pretty good but not particularly the best I've ever had. I have to say that it'll be best you can get in the area. So that's good enough for me. The taro and sweet potato mochi chunks were delicious and flavorful. I could actually taste the flavor of the root veggies. It was chewy but not too much, so my teeth were happy. The soup itself was actually too sweet for me. I think the red beans make it taste even sweeter so that was a bit of a turn off for me. I had to add a few ice chunks to water it down and then it tasted perfect. They give you an extra side of syrup (?) but I didn't need to use it. For $4.5 for a large bowl of grass jelly with red bean, taro and sweet potato chunks, it's a decent deal and I'm ALWAYS craving grass jelly soup desserts so I'm coming back whenever the truck is near work!

Got the stewed pork lunch box today with free spicy gizzards for being a fan (show "like" on their FB page)

Can't find them...they didn't pick up when I called...they're also not at the address listed on Google.

Was looking for a nice warm bowl of soupy noodles on the cold day and this hit the spot. Looking forward to come again soon to try their combo plates with wontons!

Tai Kee Wonton is located in a business area plaza off Lundy Avenue in San Jose. Parking is accessible in the medium sized parking lot. The Taiwanese restaurant has a counter where you can order food to go. There are plenty of tables and booths for dine in. The modern decor is family friendly, cozy, and welcoming. We ordered 2 small Taiwanese Wontons soups, a House special beef noodle soup, and a Taiwanese sandwich. Everything was authentic and delicious. The wontons soups were flavorful and warm. My beef noodle soup was hearty. The tender beef was scrumptious. The sandwich was different, something that I have never had before but I enjoyed it a lot. The pork meat filling was savory and tasty. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Tai Kee Wonton. The staff were friendly and accommodating. This restaurant appeared to be a local favorite in the area. I was glad we got to finally try this spot. The wontons lived up to the hype.

They got AYCE hot pot now and it feels a lot more chaotic!…read more  I came here to celebrate Father's day on Sunday around 12pm. There was a bit of a wait and you can waitlist on their ipad inside. We waited for about 20-30 minutes.    Before getting seated they ask if you want to do the normal hot pot style or AYCE. The AYCE runs for 90 minutes and is $24.99 during lunch and $30.95 during dinner time. They also charge for leftover food which is $6 per lb. We ended up doing the normal one pot hot pot for each person.    I always get my usual lamb hot pot which already comes with vermicelli noodles and choose rice as my free side dish. There are various levels of spiciness and I chose extra spicy which is a level down from there flaming spicy from what I can recall. Honestly it was not spicy enough but I did not want to get the spiciest level in fear that it would be too oily. Perhaps I will try that the next time to see if it is.    They have a bar further in the back of the restaurant where you can get creat your sauce and get some garnishes for your hot pot. I also noticed they have some other sides like noodles and such next to it. It seems if you are not participating in AYCE you can still get sauces and garnishes but I am not sure about the other sides.    The interior has changed from the last time I came here and it looks nice! Service was standard and everyone was nice. It does feel more chaotic now that they have AYCE but that  is understandable.

People following their cooking passions in cloud kitchens can't always control a lot of the experience beyond their kitchens so it's good to remember that sometimes behind each order is an individual hustling to try to keep a dream alive to own their own place someday. Be kind when you can. I'm saying all this because while the ambiance around the San Jose Downtown Food Hall and Bento Pro isn't great, the restaurant's output is relatively good. Instead of picking up food here in person, I'll probably adjust and order delivery in the future. I dropped my coworker off and ran an errand while she went in to order at the kiosks. There is metered parking in front and we saw reviews about free parking close by but didn't search for it. It wasn't the lunch rush so the area was pretty quiet and a lot of eateries were closed. She placed orders for our group at two different eateries in the food hall and the estimated wait times for both were fast and accurate. Back at the office, I got to sample my coworker's braised chicken quarter bento. The chicken was delicious and the bento was stuffed with sides and white rice. One of the sides, a stir fry vermicelli noodle, was really salty to me but my coworker who prefers very heavily seasoned food liked it. My minced pork dry noodles was similarly very salty. It seemed like someone had done a heavy pour of a concentrated sauce but it was a flavorful salty that I could see promise in so I solved the problem by boiling up a pack of plain ramen noodles, mixing it in, and saving half for dinner. The resulting dish was much more pleasant in sodium, still flavorful with all of the toppings and sauce mixed in, and I didn't have to cook for dinner. Noodles weren't soggy by the time we made it to the office and the whole dish was warm and fresh. Some people would probably have given that experience a low score but this is a relatively new eatery. It's quick, generous in portion, has the right flavors and just needs to work out some early unevenness. Everything worked out and I'm looking forward to trying it again via delivery.

Take it from a Hong Kong kid...these are seriously legit zongzi that taste just like the cantonese…read moreones I grew up with. Definitely above your typical market rates, but I promise these will be true to the OG flavors. It's mostly a food pick-up type of service where you walk up to a shared space and ring a doorbell to have an aunty bring out your stuff. Online ordering was how I did it, but you can also call/text an order over the phone. The ordering process is a bit unusual in that you have to plan these ahead of time (by about 3-days or so depending on time of week) then wait for a confirmation text on the day of. Unfortunately, impromptu cravings must likely be held at bay. Sometimes you can short-notice stuff if they have leftovers, but that's defintely a gamble. With either planning or luck, you'll then walk off with a hefty bag of deliciousness. You can have the option of getting them freshly cooked or frozen (for stocking up). The zongzi are well packaged and tightly wrapped with color-codings to the string to separate the fillings from each other. It's a bit cryptic, but you'll notice those correspond with the pictures on their ordering site. Descriptions of the fillings are true to their amount and pretty well packed with goodness (none of the mostly-rice-zongzi here). After cracking the first one open and taking my first bite, it was like that Ratatouille moment with Anton having flashbacks to his childhood (but like the Chinese version). Filled with delicious aromas and rich succulent glory, with not a dry spot in (culinary) sight. If that hasn't convinced you to at least try these buggers, I'm not sure what will!
