Decided to grab a couple bánh mì sandwiches before catching our flight at SJC airport. We ordered the combination and grilled pork sandwiches. Service was fast and the sandwiches were very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was casual and definitely gave off "mom & pop" vibes, a no frills kind of place. Both sandwiches were very tasty. The bread was a tiny bit soggy by the time we ate our sandwiches (our fault since we didn't eat our sandwiches right away) but still great. You can tell the bread was crusty on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside. The amount of sandwich filling was very generous as well. I ordered 100 egg rolls from Dakao Sandwich Two in Milpitas for a birthday event at work, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. I went in Wednesday evening to ask about pricing for 100 egg rolls to be picked up Friday at 10:45 AM. The price was reasonable at $175 for 100 pieces. I also asked if the egg rolls could be cut in half. The employee told me no because of how they would look and because the lettuce could become messy. I accepted that and figured we would cut them ourselves. I also tried to get a copy of the receipt, but the employee told me to just take a picture of it instead. I specifically let him know ahead of time that my mom would be picking up the order on Friday. When Friday came, my mom contacted me at work because there was confusion about the pickup date. She was told the order was supposed to be ready the following day, even though I had clearly ordered it for Friday. Another employee apparently told her they could prepare the order in about 20 minutes. This became a bigger issue because the event was scheduled for 11:30 AM, and the order was supposed to be picked up at 10:45 AM specifically to allow enough time to bring everything to the event. Because of the confusion and delay, the food was not ready as planned, which delayed the actual event. As the person hosting the birthday event, it was frustrating and honestly brought down my mood because I was trying to make sure everything went smoothly for everyone. Unfortunately, when my mom picked up the egg rolls, she found that they were crispy on the outside but not fully cooked inside. They also weren't as crispy as expected. It seemed like the order was rushed to get it prepared quickly. To make matters worse, we were not even given any dipping sauce for the egg rolls. For an order of 100 egg rolls costing $175, I would have expected the order to be complete and include the appropriate sauce, especially since I had placed the order in advance for a birthday event. For $175, I expected 100 properly cooked egg rolls, ready at the agreed-upon time, and a complete order. I understand that mistakes and miscommunication can happen, but when you're placing a large order in advance, you expect the order to be ready on the correct day, prepared properly, and ready at the agreed-upon time. The pricing was decent, but the combination of the communication issues, delay, rushed preparation, partially cooked egg rolls, and lack of dipping sauce made the experience very disappointing. I would have much rather waited a little longer for the order to be properly prepared than receive 100 egg rolls that weren't fully cooked and have to deal with missing items afterward. It was mid-afternoon and there was a rumble within. Hadn't had lunch and it wasn't dinner time yet. Healthy spring rolls was calling my name. Did my usual quick Yelp search and came upon this spot near where I was. It's a hole in the wall but with large table seating (3 large table rows). Even though it was aged space, the restaurant was very clean. The extensive Banh Mi menu caught my eye. I think combination Banh Mi's are still my go to sandwiches but I did try a Pork/Pork Skin/Steamed Port sandwich, too. And of course I got my fresh shrimp and pork spring rolls. With a large container of peanut dipping sauce and 3 plump rolls packed with greens, rice noodles, generous shrimp and pork slices, I conversed with myself that these were probably some of THE MOST DELICIOUS springs rolls I've ever had! Randomly craved banh mi and noticed this spot nearby, so we decided to check it out. You already know the food is going to be good when the menu photos look a little faded . They have a wide variety of options, but we tried the shaking beef, banh mi, and spring rolls and everything was solid. The shaking beef was well stir-fried, nicely coated in sauce, and came with tomato rice. The banh mi was affordable, and the bread was super soft with a nice crunch when you bite into it. For the spring rolls, it seemed like they were wrapped in double rice paper and packed really well. I don't personally like this type of sandwich anyway so I wasn't particular ecstatic about it to begin with. This place is small but has an extensive menu of Vietnamese food. I was craving a banh mi and grabbed the #1 dac biet cold cut sandwich and added an egg. It was average. I used to go to the downtown San Jose location and once they closed I thought they were gone forever! Luckily this location is open. I love getting the pork banh mi here. This is a simple and quality sandwich. I think you can't beat the price anywhere else. While here I think it's worth picking up any of their egg rolls or pate chaud. They're all solid small bites. Now this last time, came in today and was ready to order a sandwich with cash in hand, only to hear they do NOT have sandwiches because they ran out of bread. WTH... Is this not a business that's known as a sandwich shop? Ummm, it's in the name !! A truly underrated Vietnamese eatery that's been around for nearly 20 years. My co-workers and I would come by for its grilled chicken and pork bánh mì served on a crunchy baked baguette with pickled carrots, daikon, cilantro and cucumber slices at $7 and drinks for $4 cheaper than its competitors. Located in a small plaza with surrounding business with ample parking. Came by on a Saturday and they're open at 6:30 in the morning whereas are a lot of business are still closed. The only drawback is limited dine-in seating though most of their business is for take-outs and service has been very efficient so no complaints. Patê chaud (miniature meat pies) are my favorite comes in pork price at $2 and a Thai iced coffee for a mere $4 simply cheap cheaper than eating at some of the fast food joint. This is a really good place for takeout!!! There's very little seating and it's functional - it caters to take out or large catering orders, that's why the ambience is very basic! They do not accept credit cards. They prefer cash or Zelle. I ordered the vegetarian fried rice and the vegetarian fresh rolls. Both were amazing. The rolls are oh-so fresh!!! I also ordered Vietnamese coffee, which was great. The only thing that I did not like is attention to detail - I said no ice in the coffee and they did load it up with ice. Sandwiches were good and fairly priced, I initially thought the beef one will have less meat, more expensive or dry, but it turned out the same price and good. The grilled pork one was ok, choose the beef one to get mroe value for the same price. They do have traditional dishes like beef kerky papaya salad and Nem Bo. Staff is nice and when eating onsite, tea is free. They take Venmo and Zelle. They ran out of $4 drinks the Saturday (4pm) and Sunday (2pm) - not sure if they ever have them. The OG "Dakao Sandwiches I" is located in San Jose but closed a while back. This one in Milpitas is "Dakao Sandwiches II" (I guess it's like the sequel). Is it good? Yes, I will say it is tasty... for that price u can't beat it! I think it'll satisfy your cravings and you can even get a second one for later and not feel as guilty with the price. My only thing is depending on what day I go, they run outta bread. Cause of that, I was like "damn it must be good!" Again, it's a great banh mi' but there are places all over Milpitas and SJ with superior banh mi loaded with more meat and veggies that's almost double the size! According to the employee, 1-2 days notice is more than enough depending on your order size. 3 stars because the execution was not flawless. While the pick up time was accurate and the ingredients used were fresh, a bunch of the rolls were made half a**ed. They fell apart as we picked them up, leaving a mess of stray noodles.
