This is coming from someone who loves bun bo hue more than pho As good as their pho was, the wait time for our food was more than 25 minutes. We also encountered an issue where we were served 1 bowl of pho and ate some of it for 5 minutes. After the 10, I asked for an update on my other bowl. When the server came back to our time, they took the bowl and said it was not ours and was another customers. So they took it to the back and dumped it out. We proceeded to wait an extra few minutes before our real bowls came out. This Vietnamese restaurant is a family style restaurant. I come to have their beef pho or their rice plate. They serve the rice plate (grilled chicken, pork or shrimp) with a bowl of soup. They also have fresh made Vietnamese coffee, the real one, not the ones made with powder. I love their grilled pork, chicken and shrimp, full of flavor. They have spring rolls, too. If you order this to go, be careful as there may be a lot of sauce that can spill out of the carton. The tomato rice was packed separately. It is flavorful but doesn't have much tomato taste.. I also sampled the grilled chicken rice plate. The chicken (thigh meat) was fine, not dry. My friends tried the grilled beef plate and they commented that the beef slices were a bit tough, so probably overcooked. As I didn't do dine-in, I don't have much to say about that experience. Service was fine, and the covered outdoor patio area has limited seating but it was cool there at noon. First time coming here! Service was quick. I ordered the Special Combo Pho. I thought the broth was delicious and the portion is very much worth the price that I paid ($17 before tips). It was a very LARGE portion. The meats were good, but I did think the rare meat was a bit gamey. I would prefer more veggies in the pho and they do use the dry noodles at this restaurant! This spot is one of our got to spots when we don't want to go far from home. Nice & quaint atmosphere inside and they have outside tables too. The food & dishes have always been on point and always hot served with lots of flavor. I have yet to have a dish that was not delicious. The one downside to this place would be the small plastic cups they give customers for water. We are constantly having to ask for refills and when it's busy that can be a bit tricky. We were given the option of choosing our seat but unfortunately had to grab our own stack of menus due to the male employee overlooking us while busting tables. The gentleman eventually walked over to take our food order, not writing anything down and based everything on memory. Soda Xi Muoi Sprite The food came out fairly quick and the plate of herbs provided was fresh. The seafood noodles soup clearly containing shrimp which we had requested for the kitchen to be removed. The rest of the orders were fine. I waited around patiently for our drinks to arrive and nothing came out besides the complimentary waters that were given shortly after our initial arrival. I waited and waited some more until it was clear that the drinks had been forgotten. The gentleman who took our order was nowhere to be found so I was forced to ask the younger gal handling the register. Food was okay but there are obvious kinks that need to be worked out. For starters, taking orders and actually writing them down would help tremendously. Love this place! I've only been here twice after my choir concerts, but both times were great. The staff is so nice and accommodating. We had a big group, so we had to sit outside, but they handled everything smoothly. They took all our orders, and the food came out fairly quickly. I finally tried this pho spot even though it's been around for a while, and I'm glad I did. It is a bit on the pricier side, but definitely worth it. The portions are generous especially the rice plates and the food quality is great. The pho broth here was good in terms of flavor; tasted just like most other pho spots. I got a small size pho for $13.50. Pretty cheap compared to other spots but it shows in the small portion of noodles and meat. The meat was just okay in quality, and I found that the tendon in my bowl was undercooked and hard. Other than that, all the side fixings were fresh and I have no complaints in that aspect. Service was a little disappointing. We were not checked on throughout the meal and were not given any napkins. When we paid at the register, I found the worker pretty rude. I was looking for 60 cents of change to give him, but he rushed me and told me to give him a dollar instead. It wins on convenience and location (open late and super close by), but the pho fell short compared to other places I've had. There's a strong one-note flavor that lingered in the broth that I can't quite pinpoint which dominated the flavor profile.
