Very cool spot we hit for breakfast last Thursday. Located near (on?) the University of Cincinnati campus. We were all too hungover (common theme on a bachelor party roadtrip?) to get into the beers or amazing looking cocktails and mimosa selection they had. It was a coffee/ food/ water kinda morning. The restaurant itself is really cool. Bright, clean and comfortable. We ate inside but the back patio looked awesome. The menu is great, with many of the dishes named after deviant sexual acts. I have been here a couple times now and really enjoy this place.... This time though.... I went specifically in search of a good bloody marry. I did some research on Yelp and elsewhere and hangover easy was highly recommended! The bloody marry - IT NO LONGER LOOKS LIKE THE PHOTOS!!! It doesn't come with anything fun like bacon, cheese, pickle. It does come with an olive but... ehh.. THAT BEING SAID..... it was amazing. I am not sure how but it was amazing and I just ordered a side of pickles and bacon. I would love to see them add back the bonus stuff (especially celery). Looking for brunch on a Saturday morning close-ish to my house and Yelp suggested hangover easy. I love that you can add yourself to the waitlist through the yelp app without even leaving your bed! After adding our name to the list we had about 15 minutes to get ourselves together and out the door. Again, so convenient! When we arrived we waited about 5 more minutes and were seated before some people who looked to be standing around a lot longer. As you can imagine this place is packed with college students and staffed with what seemed to be college students but despite that we actually really enjoyed our time here. Our waitress Gabby was quick and friendly. Our coffee came out hot and was replenished several times along with our waters without us having to ask. We ordered the walk of shame, whole lotta goodness and Brussels on the side. All came out hot and delicious. My one issue with the food was that the brussel sprouts seemed to be unsalted and covered with cheese. I would probably ask for no cheese in the future. I like my veggies plain with just a little salt. The manager came to check on us about halfway through the meal and because we didn't really expect that level of attention and care at a college area diner we were really impressed. At the conclusion of our meal Gabby offered to give us to go cups of coffee and that pushed this experience from 4 stars to 5. This place is definitely our new go-to! read more

However Leeza/Lisa there Manager was wonderful and accommodated to our needs to the fullest extent... I digress. I was disappointed in Hang Over Easy's menu options and product quality this morning. I had an inkling I would not have a stellar experience, due to a previous comment. But I was disappointed nonetheless. Decent vegan options on the menu are slim at best. I got the avocado toast without the egg. It was cold, soggy, and flavorless. And the coffee was lukewarm. Not even close to the value they are charging for each. Overprice and underperformed. However, my meat eating company seemed to enjoy their meals, though they also commented on the cold coffee. The restaurant ambience is great, and the bathrooms are cool. It would be great if Hang Over Easy could add something as simple as grilled tofu, vegan bacon, or something like that to the menu to ensure a better experience for veggie folks. But until that happens, I do not look forward to coming back. read more

Went to the zoo with the family and then we usually venture to Clifton to eat. Came here and was so pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was chill and comfortable. All of our dishes were delicious and the service was prompt and friendly. The star dish was the chicken and waffles. The glaze on the chicken wasn't overwhelming, but added flavor. The chicken was crisp and moist. The dish was plenty of food for my 2 kids to share. I got the breakfast tacos and the chorizo was spicy and good. It was a huge portion for the price. My husband got the pancakes and they were piping hot and fluffy straight off the griddle. We look forward to coming back! read more

By far and away my favorite Cincinnati breakfast. This place has seen me at my highs and lows for a full decade. During college this was my go-to for the morning after college parties, brunch dates, quick happy hour pancakes before early classes, and sharing bacon with my pup on the patio. Now, I bring family in from out of town, and my human for breakfast dates after church on Sundays. I stop in occasionally during the week to get a bite while I get some work done. It's not going to be Sotto or Forno level service, but for what it is, the service is typically pretty good. This is a Clifton staple with phenomenal comfort breakfast food. So glad it has survived Covid, and hope that it will continue to be here for years to come! read more

I had a great time while at Hang Over Easy. I have had many different Tex Mex meals at restaurants, but I have not had many Tex Mex Breakfasts before. They had a perfect blend of hearty meals, breakfast with a spin, and meals that I think would help any hangover. This restaurant is dog friendly (in months where there is outdoor seating. I sat on the back porch and brought my dog Bub with me. The porch was beautiful and provided the perfect ambiance. The staff was super friendly. The brought out a water dish for Bub. It was very easy to have a conversation with the staff members I interacted with. I love the food that I had. My friend ordered the breakfast tacos. They were a little messy, but she ate every drop (AKA they were delicious). I want to go here next time I stop in Cincinnati! read more

We weren't able to transfer drinks to our table that we got while we were waiting.. ok fine, the bartender wants the tip. I get it. I think this is a great place for a diner-style brunch. Surprised I haven't reviewed it yet because I've probably been here 20 times. A good hangover spot (obviously) but also a nice place to meet friends for a lunch break. Service leaves something to be desired, but the fact that they have a morning and afternoon happy hour makes up for it in my eyes. I like the breakfast quesadilla (don't remember the exact name) and the Cleveland steamer. Most of their food is honestly pretty good; I've tried a lot of the things on the menu and don't have any complaints. They did get rid of the curly fries they used to have, which is unfortunate. As far as drinking goes, the rainbow mimosa is my go to. They have a frequently changing rotating tap list with a lot of different styles as well. I also love their live waitlist feature too. If your looking for a great boozy weekend brunch, this is definitely a great spot to try. During my visit we tried several drinks such as the Rainbow Mimosa, their summer sangria and another mimosa (which I wish, I could remember the name of it). Anyways, the drinks were spot on and super delicious. I ordered their TOTS, as an appetizer (which actually is listed an an entree and you can add an egg on top of the entree as well). The TOTS were super delicious and contained just the right amount of heat throughout the dish. I also ordered the Chicken and Waffles and I enjoyed it. The chicken is coated in a spicy batter. When you combine the spiciness from the chicken and the cool sweet syrup from the waffle, the two make a great pairing. Usually decent service for a busy place, but this morning they were not in the mood. Waiter barely spoke, order was brought out before coffee and missing items... Plates were brought by a woman that just said "talk to your waiter" and walked off. She then proceeded to avoid eye contact with me for the rest of the meal. I was mostly done with my eggs and potatoes before I got my toast and coffee. I had to ask the waiter for a refill on the coffee. When he brought the coffee over, he filled my cup silently and then left. I was sitting with a person that also ordered coffee and wanted a top off. He didn't even ask her if she needed anything. Just poured my cup in silence and walked away. We also never got a water refill. Eventually, the waiter brought the bill, silent again with no instructions on how to pay the bill. Just put them on the table, walked away, then never came back to the table. I eventually went up to the bar to pay where he ignored me for awhile before taking my card and running it... Again, weirdly not speaking a word to me the entire exchange. I've been here before. In the past, they took the card at the table to run it. If that policy changed, maybe an explanation? Not sure what I did to piss the waiter off, but the place wasn't that busy this morning. It seems a reasonable expectation to get all the food you are paying for and maybe getting refills on $3 coffee without having to ask multiple people.
