We always use Handico when our home repair needs arise. They're reliable -on time, honest -very up front and reasonable prices for their excellent quality of service. Highly recommended! read more

I just had another good experience with Handico. They took apart, cleaned, and resealed our stand up guest bathroom shower, and did a great job. And they finished 1.5 hours earlier than they estimated! It has held up well after a week. I'm very happy with their service and will definitely use them again when we want to tackle our granite counter and kitchen backsplash. read more

HandiCo was fantastic in every way--timely, efficient, professional, and very talented at what they do. I was able to send pictures ahead of time for them to get a better idea of the cost and work time. I had a brand new garbage disposal installed and it turned out beautiful. For a cook, a garbage disposal is life changing. HandiCo changed my life! Would def recommend HandiCo and would hire them again. read more

After researching several handyman services I found that HandiCo was the best deal around... Not only are they competitively priced, they didn't charge me that "service call fee" that other places would. Andy, the handyman, showed up on time and made me feel very comfortable with him tackling the projects as he gave me his previous work experience and had asked me how I wanted the projects done. A few hours later I had 2 ceiling fans installed and a chandelier as well. I'll be having him back in the next couple of weeks to install tv mounts and an exterior fan on the patio. Great price, great service! read more

Tom hooked us up right...thanks Tom! The plumbing and electrical in our new laundry room is just how we wanted it.

These guys are so great- I've used them twice and both times I've received top notch service. I'm not sure, maybe they're a little pricey, but they are so worth every penny! I see no reason to go anywhere else when their service is so reliable- they're punctual, efficient, and thorough. Big thank you to Drew who came out to my place in early August- I never thought I'd be this thrilled with a light fixture and new faucet! :) read more

I called HandiCo, Inc. on Tuesday and they were able to come out to our condo on Wednesday morning. We had a leak from the condo above us and we needed someone to fix the drywall and repaint. HandiCo, Inc. sent Julio out to our condo and he was not only the nicest guy, but he did excellent work. After everything was completed I showed him a few things and asked him how to fix them. Julio went ahead and hung something additional for me in the bathroom and then spackled a patch on our wall for us. We were so happy with his work and overall how friendly he was. I felt like I was working with my dad on the projects which made me feel comfortable. read more

Updating my review- I had these guys quote me for a few projects, one that I had done for nearly 60% cheaper.... just had my second project completed, even more disgusted than before. They quoted me over $1000 to put a glass pane above my door. Ashland Glass did the exact same job for me for under $300. DO NOT TRUST HandiCo, they are exactly the type of contracting business that gives others a bad name. The fact that they don't think people are smart enough to spot an inflated quote is insulting. read more

We have used HandiCo for a couple different projects since we moved into our new place in February. They've installed a couple of light fixtures, patched some drywall, and done assorted other tasks. Overall, we've been very pleased with the service. The workers are very courteous, always give us a call before showing up, and-- best of all-- clean up any drywall dust, paper, etc., when they're done! It's also nice that they're pretty flexible with scheduling and can get a worker over here pretty quickly when needed. read more

I hired HandiCo to stain my porch, deck, and pergola. Their price was very reasonable and they did a great job -- love the way it all turned out. They were also very flexible - willing to work with me on doing two different stains for the porch vs. the deck and were very responsive to the many questions I emailed them in advance of the work. I highly recommend and will use them again next time I need stain work. read more

Handico continues to deliver. They just followed up for some warranty work that was really from an item they purchased (a door) and only installed, it was not their work but they stood behind it! we have had these guys do small to large jobs over the past 10 years, and we continue to go back! thank you for your continued craftsmanship and reliability!! read more

I had a bathroom and bedroom painted as well as numerous other handyman items resolved by Handico. The process was smooth from estimation, contracting and through completion. I will definitely use Handico again. read more

I had an issue with the apartment a floor above leaking into mine from their HVAC. I had Tom as my professional from HandiCo and he was amazing. Quick, so tidy, and did a fantastic job fixing my ceiling. Literally not a speck of dust left after he replaced drywall and painted. I would absolutely use them again. read more

Great service all the way! I like it when somebody shows up right on time, or, in this case, a few minutes before. (6.50 for a 7-8.00 window). The job was well done: a few repairs and some paint on the walls. Our condo looks brand new! Excellent experience, I highly recommend HandiCo. read more

I have been using HandiCo for years! We live in the neighborhood, and they are always great to work with! They are flexible with scheduling, conscious, and very professional!!! The job is always well done! I will continue to use them and always recommend them to friends! read more

Handico delivered as promised. The project manager gave a complete and very fair estimate. Handico scheduled the project, that included electrical, plumbing and carpentry, around a very tight schedule and delivered results that exceeded expectations. The workers arrived on time each day they were scheduled. They were thorough, professional and cleaned up the work areas daily. We will definitely use Handico again when we have other projects. read more

We had such a fantastic experience with this company! We had an outdoor patch/paint job on our roof overhang that needed to be completed in a short time frame as we are in the process of selling our house. Over the course of a few days, we worked with a number of people at this company who worked around the bad weather and busy schedules to get this done in time with a quality job. They were friendly, accommodating and really committed to doing a quality job. Thank you again to Mike, Andrew and Tim for taking great care of us. I will definitely be using them in the future for any job we need around our house. read more

I could not be happier with HandiCo's work. Because of a miscommunication from another company we were working with, we need to complete a lot of work on our large walk-in closet (10x10) within a few days. HandiCo was able to quickly re-arrange their schedule and accommodate our 3.5day project. I found all their employees to be very professional and courteous. I felt very comfortable leaving them alone in my home while I was at work. They called whenever a decision needed to be made or if anything was slightly different than planned. They also did very good work. Our room looks amazing! That being said, why 4 stars? They are pretty expensive...I did feel like I was being ripped off a bit. However, given the urgency, I didn't really have time to try to find another quote. read more

I called HandiCo to install a light fixture that my hubby couldn't get to work properly. Wow, I'm so pleased they scheduled me right away, were knowledgeable, prompt ,efficient and reasonably priced. I will definitely use HandiCo the next time I need home improvement/ repair work done. read more

Used Handico to paint my condo and I couldn't have been happier with the results. They were not the cheapest quote we received but in showing competitive quotes to them they were able to match the pricing (we wanted to use a local service). The work was done in a timely manner with a friendly and reliable staff (showed up on time, etc). I will certainly use them for future projects. read more

Exactly what I expect from a contractor. When I told them I had issues with doors not closing properly because they weren't tight enough on the hinges, they didn't go to extremes that other contractors have in the past that were a lot more expensive. The provided an easy fix that was quick, inexpensive, and fixed it right. Always on time, clean too. They have been saved to contacts in my phone and they will always be used in the future for my house and rental property. read more

I had Handico add an addition to our rooftop deck which included 2 gates. Mike and Matt were both very responsive and professional. They finished the project in the time they said they would with excellent quality. I plan to use Handico for future projects, read more

We hired HandiCo to make a variety of repairs to our two flat, and were very pleased with the process and results. Mike was very flexible with scheduling and easy to work with over the phone, and Julio was polite, efficient, did quality work, and cleaned up well upon completion. Repairs performed included: many concrete patches indoors and outdoors, patching and replacing drywall in several rooms, various carpentry repairs, relocating the gas line to a stove and installing a new gas shut off valve, as well as cleaning our gutters and down-spouts. The cost was very fair given the amount of work done, and that we asked HandiCo to acquire all the materials needed so we would not have to worry about purchasing the wrong products. We will definitely hire HandiCo again and will request Julio when we do. read more

This is the second time we've used HandiCo - first was for some electrical issues and this time for plumbing. In both cases the gentlemen who did the work were excellent. They communicated promptly, showed up on time, kept us clearly updated on the process and gave options on how to repair the issues, cleaned up after themselves and did the repairs for a very reasonable amount of time and money. What more could one ask for? read more

We have now hired HandiCo twice for two different services, and they have been consistently amazing! They are on-time, efficient, knowledgeable, and polite. Most recently, we had Tony come to the house, and I cannot say enough good things about him. He was incredibly thoughtful, and he worked hard to finish everything on our list just in time. read more

This is a really friendly service that I have used. I booked with them to fix up my door because it was getting stuck and I could not fix it. I had a man come out and spend few hours on it and he was able to fix it. Very easy process and I would highly recommend and using them. They are kind of expensive but its well worth the great service. read more

After having some wood flooring installed in my apartment, I needed to have 5 appliances re-attached as my flooring contract would not handle that. After quoting several plumbing and handyman companies, HandiCo was less than half the price! Not only did they show up on time and complete the work within the quoted timeframe, my tenant sent me a text raving about how great the technician, Lionel, was. I will definitely use them again for any small repairs in my apartment! read more

We wanted to set up a hockey shooting area for our kids to practice indoors in the winter that would not demolish our finished basement and LEDTV. Demond was creative at coming up with a solution to hang a large shooting tarp and efficient with the materials he selected for our project and his time. He was a pleasure to work with. We are repeat HandiCo clients and highly recommend HandiCo. read more

I had a small job, and Pablo from HandiCo did a great job. It involved installing and painting around a light. The light works and looks great. I am very satisfied. The service was prompt and courteous. I highly recommend using this company for big or small jobs. I know I will be using them again. read more

I'm not giving HandiCo 1 star because our actual painter (Tom) was great. We agreed to pay $95/hour to paint our bedroom and two closets -- 700 sq feet in total. They sent one painter. ONE. It took 7 hours + to complete. So, a lot of money in total and we still have half of our apartment to paint. I am incredibly disappointed and angry. If you're looking to use them, do your research and make sure the appropriate # of painters are available. I do not plan on using them again. read more

I have used Handico for the last 12 years for a variety of reasons. They always show up on time, and they consistently do a flawless job. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

I have used HandiCo for a couple of jobs around our new home in Lincoln Park. They are extremely reliable, and have always done a fantastic job. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Handico first worked on my condo a few years ago when the roof was leaking and they repaired the dry wall and painted etc. I was impressed with their work, they were professional, neat and cleaned up when they were done working. No mess. I just used them again today to install 2 window air conditioners in my apartment and Demond did a good job, they are nicely installed and nice to look at, neatly installed. They have a 2 hour minimum and the job was finished in 1 hour. I will use them again. read more

I have been using HandiCo for the past five years and have been very impressed with their work and their customer service. Most importantly they do excellent work both big and small and give you an accurate $ and time estimate that they adhere to. They also are creative and will help come up with a plan to fix your problem that fits your budget. They also warranty certain types of jobs and if something goes wrong they will fix it. While this does not happen often -- it has happened only once and they stood behind their warranty. I highly recommend this professional organization. read more

I'm giving only 2 stars because I was fairly disappointed with the service I received for the price paid. I had them come out to try and fix a leak in the shower in an upstairs bathroom. After about 30 minutes of running water in the shower he observed that as I'd told them some water leaks down into the bathroom downstairs. Rather than fixing anything I was told that the tub that I have installed in the bathroom is the wrong type of tub. As it turns out I was able to caulk the tub and stop the leak after he left. He did rip out some drywall in the bathroom downstairs to see where the water was leaking through and did identify that water was indeed coming from the shower. Of course I was told it would take 4 hours of work to repair the dry wall. I decided to pass on the dry wall repair and hired an independent guy to do it for $100. So final bill, $196. He was there for 45 minutes and I was charged $16 for "supplies" which it was explained to me were the supplies needed to keep the drywall from making a mess on the floor. I'm not sure what supplies cost $16, aren't reusable and are required to keep drywall from messing up a floor. If you are planning to use the full 2 hours and you have a task that is "standard" in that the tech doesn't have to come up with a creative solution these guys might work. Be prepared to pay for some supplies even if no work is actually done. For me $196 is a lot to pay for someone to confirm that the water is indeed leaking from the shower. Personally I'll stick with the independent handy man who changes half the price and is willing to work to solve a problem. read more

Handico is my one stop service for maintaining my rental property by supplying many trade capabilities, I recently had a number of small jobs done. I have never had a call back with them. Their price was fair, looking for lowest does not assure a job well done Highly recommended Bill G read more

My son and daughter-in-law recommended these guys to me. They have been very pleased with the service and now I can say, So am I. I called HandiCo, Inc. to hide the cord for my the wall mounted TV. He was a great electrician and was able to work efficiently and quickly. I also asked him to replace a light fixture in the kitchen which was not part of the original order. The total job took 3 hours. I appreciated his flexibility. HandiCo gets five stars from me. I plan to use the service again when I need repairs done in my home. read more

Very professional on the phone and in person. I first called HandiCo a couple years ago when we found water leaking into the basement from the ceiling. Rather than take advantage of my panicked state, they suggested that I make a few more calls for estimates as their emergency service may be a bit pricey for what we thought was the problem. Most recently, I had a window that had come off it's support and was dangling perilously out my fourth floor bedroom. When I called the office in the morning, they explained their "emergency" rates were a little bit higher and they had a minimum of 2hrs labor, but would be willing to work something out as they'd have to do the repair in two parts: first securing the window, then fixing the broken part when it came in. Less than an hour later, one of the guys called to say he was on the way. The man could not have been more helpful or friendly when he showed up. He went above and beyond to secure the window and took the broken part back to the office to consult their "window guy" to make sure it was something they could fix. Sure enough, they're able to handle it, ordered the part, and are coming soon to reset the window. Some people have said HandiCo is a little expensive, but I feel it's WELL worth what you're paying for. Their office staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Their service guys are the same. They did a great job and I feel the service was worth every penny. Spend the extra couple of dollars and rest well knowing they're going to get it right the first time and value you as a customer. read more

I waited until I had a nice little list of stuff and called Handico (who about three years ago did a great job painting our building's balconies.) My list had plumbing, tiling, carpentry: a real variety. The guy they sent, Tom, was amazing. He did everything and was extremely nice. I can't praise what he did enough. read more
