I contacted Ray on a Sunday via Yelp and to my surprise, he replied within the hour and we made a plan to touch base on Monday. I told him what I needed, sent photos of the space, and he offered to have one of his team (David) come out to do the job that same week on Thursday! I couldn't believe the turn around. He offered a fair and very reasonable price for the entire job. Ray and David were prompt at the time they said they'd arrive. Ray pointed out yellowing in one of the bathroom ceilings and since I had the ceiling paint in the condo already, he offered to add this to the job without extra charge. David brought one other team member with him and they were exceptional. Very professional, super friendly, and clearly took significant pride in their work. David checked in with us periodically to make sure that everything was exactly to our specifications. He was even done an hour early! Ray came back at the end to make sure everything was good to go. I am so grateful for Ray and his team because now I can keep prepping for baby's arrival and not worry about these half finished bathrooms. Only, the entire endeavor took way too long, meanwhile, the house is a mess while you're gallivanting the aisles. Enter Clark Devon Hardware. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted and offered assistance. Even if you are just browsing, others will ask you along the way. If you do ask for help, you will either be taken to the item or shown to a person who can help (as in, 'ask this person right over here,' who sees and waves). The team at Clark Devon is knowledgeable, kind, and no nonsense. They know you have things to do and places to be. They will be happy to help you and send you on your merry way. Clark Devon may not be the prettiest hardware store, and perhaps the big boxes may even have slightly cheaper prices (this is unconfirmed). However, it is my go-to for all hardware and home improvement needs, not only out of a desire to support a locally owned business, but because customer service counts for something too. If I am to offer one smidgen of feedback, it's that I wish they were open until later in the evening. For sometimes you come back from work and discover the closet rod has snapped in two, and you need parts to replace and fix.

Deck Doc just finished power washing, sanding and staining my deck, and I am 100% satisfied with…read moretheir work. I scheduled the work around last November, as I wanted my deck to be refinished and looking good for the full 2025 season. The first days with decent weather in late April the deck was washed, and by early May the deck was finished. A crew of 2 worked a full day power washing and bleaching the deck and 2 sections of yard fencing. Every part of the deck was thoroughly cleaned, including areas not normally visible, and all areas of the deck that were surrounded by bushes. Within about a week, as soon as we had a few sunny days and warmer weather, a crew of three worked a full day sanding and staining the deck and fence. The deck floor was power sanded, and all other surfaces were hand sanded, before all sawdust was carefully blown away and stain was applied. Deck Doc did an outstanding job, and I would not hesitate to recommend them. Communications regarding scheduling were excellent, work was done competently and on the days and at the times promised. The area around the deck was left completely clean when work was completed. Thank you for making my deck look like new.

We hired Mr. Vega LLC, owned by Daniel, to kick off our backyard transformation project, and we are beyond satisfied with the results. The project was extensive, involving trenching through a concrete slab for electrical and plumbing, replacing the trenched area with new slab, expanding and replacing concrete slabs in two other areas, digging out tree roots, installing a paver area under outdoor planters, and replacing and painting porch stairs. I had a burst pipe thanks to our recent cold weather. Mr. Vega was my go to since he fixed a leak in my bathroom and it still is dry to this day. My ceiling needed to be repaired with new insulation, lighting, and paint. Mr Vega did a great job. And they left the place clean. Had a cracked water drain pipe on the side of my house that was making my foundation wall damp in my basement. Daniel was able to replace the cracked pipe, fit a new PVC connector to my gutter, seal the foundation and reframe the wall and match the vinyl panels to the existing walls. The night before, they told me they had another job to go to at 7am and said they would be here between 10-11am. They finally showed up at around 1:45-2pm. Because of the way the building is constructed, they had some trouble finding where to drill holes to hang the curtain rods. So in one of my rooms, I have holes in my walls that they drilled and were supposed to fix before they left. They did not. They also did not remove the toilet. So, I was stuck with a toilet sitting in my office. They were supposed to come back today, a week later, to remove it, fix the wall, and finish some other small projects. I emailed them over the weekend to confirm but didn't receive a response. They finally confirmed at 5:30am today that they would be here at 8:30. No one showed up. So I called. Goes straight to a messaging service. Left a message. Emailed them to let them know they have to be here by 8:45 so I can let them in and show them what needs to be done because I will be tied up after that. No response. Someone finally showed up at 9:30. But I had already emailed them a second time at 8:55am to say don't bother coming back. I will go to task rabbit to find someone reliable to do this work. Fortunately, in anticipation of this happening based on what happened last week, I had already gotten a junk hauler to get the toilet out of my office on Saturday.
