Second time using Mike and his team-- exceptional results each time. Terrific service and responsiveness in initial communications and quoting, Mike was very easy to work with. And the actual painting was fantastic quality. The Greenworks team did our powder room, two bedrooms, and a bathroom. In addition to the painting, Mike's team also helped us tear out some hardware from two closets and patch the walls for minimal additional charge. Great value for the quality of work. read more

Greenworks painted all interior walls of our condo and did a great job. Mike was very responsive in scheduling and checking in. Thanks!

Mike is amazing! He was the first of multiple painting agencies to respond to my project inquiry. He gave me a tentative quote right away, which gave me something to anchor against and a sense of what to expect. He said he'd give me a final quote right after I sent him pictures of the cabinets. Once he received those, he promptly advised me not to waste my money painting laminate cabinets. He gave me a very detailed logical explanation including pictures of how it will bubble up later. I'm taking the time out of a very busy day to leave him a well-deserved review because he interrupted his busy day to save me time and money. Being straightforward, honest, and keeping your client's best interest at heart is almost more important than the work itself, so I strongly recommend him and will gladly use him for any future painting projects. I wish all service providers had his professional maturity, experience, and the grace to do the right thing! read more

We recently updated our entire house including cabinets. I was extremely satisfied with every contractor and their crews that came in and out. However, Mike and his team were by far the best. I was hesitant to reach out because of the (what I will now 100% confirm are faux) reviews that he isn't responsive. I called him and he texted me right away saying he will call me back within the hour. Not only did he call me back, but he was THE most responsive throughout our entire home renovation process. He responded to calls and texts immediately. He provided frequent updates throughout each day, sent pictures and was extremely helpful coordinating all aspects of his work. As I previously stated, his work was phenomenal. What intrigued me to move forward was a prior comment that "the cabinets looked new". I will confirm this statement - our cabinets look BRAND NEW. Again, BRAND NEW. We were on a tight timeline but Mike delivered. He was able to start shortly after we first spoke, and was in and out of our unit in less than a week. Mike sets the bar high. Awesome work. read more

This is a strange review, as I didn't actually use Greenworks as a service. Rather, after putting in a quote request on Yelp, I got a great response from Mike. He considered the job, asked followed up questions, and ultimately it made sense to not go ahead for project specific reasons. Instead of ending it there, Mike oftered great tips to get the job done anyway. Great service and knowledge - thanks! read more

I had a great experience working with Mike (the owner) and his team from Greenworks Painting. Everyone I spoke/worked with were professional, knowledgable and skilled. I highly recommend! I initially began working with Greenworks to have kitchen cabinets repainted in a condo I was purchasing in Chicago. After shopping around and reviewing various quotes and reviews, I ended up selecting Greenworks because of their responsiveness and generally favorable reviews. I have since come to learn that many (if not all) of the negative reviews are from fake reviewers. Mike's guy, Randy, arrived on time each day and provided a detailed explanation of what he was doing and the estimated time frame for the cabinets. The finished product looks awesome and the workmanship was top notch. Mike and Randy also convinced me to have our deck rehabbed as it was showing some serious signs of wear and tear after years of neglect. Boy am I glad I did. Just after the cleaning and power washing the deck looked 100x better and now that the stain is on the wood, I know the deck is protected and ready for the summer. Mike knows his stuff and is more than happy to share his knowledge. Overall, I was very pleased with the work and will be a repeat customer in the future! read more

Company is a complete joke. I reached out to have the our living room repainted, our backyard garage freshly painted and to get a quote on having kitchen cabinets repainted. But they don't serve predominantly black areas yet they brand themselves as "serving Chicago". Here's a tip: the Southside IS Chicago. My husband and I have a combined household income of $250k so you're loss. You need to check your inherent biases. I'm sure another company will appreciate our business. read more

I had a great experience with Greenworks Painting. They were responsive, even for a small job like mine, worked me in as soon as the weather permitted, arrived on time, and finished quickly! And they did a great job painting my balcony, including the underside. I will not hesitate to use them again. read more

Greenworks just refinished my kitchen cabinets and island, working around the other contractors doing countertops, etc. The results were terrific - my 12 year old cabinets look brand new. Two real estate agents went through (separately) yesterday and each one stopped to ask "who did these cabinets? They did a really great job." They seemed genuinely impressed. The team was great to work with. Carlos the PM was readily available, kept me informed, and came to the site each day to make sure everything was as expected. He even did a perfect touch-up repair on marks left by another contractor. These are great people who take pride in doing great work. I can't recommend them highly enough. Will definitely work with them again. read more

We needed to have full-length mirrors removed along an entire wall and have the room painted before moving in. Everyone said it would take two days and cost at least 1500. However, greenworks quoted me just over one third of that price and had it done in 5 hours. They sent over two guys who were very efficient and knowledgeable. We will be using them for any future painting needs as well. Thanks!! read more

Greenworks painted our 2000+ sq ft townhouse last week. They did a very good job and efficiently too. They turned it to us all finished in 4 days. Place looks so much nicer and open. Price is reasonable considering how fast they finished the job and how well they did it. There were no frequent phone calls, no paint stains on floors. We weren't even there to supervise. Mike made a couple of paint color and sheen suggestions and we are glad we took up on his suggestions. He communicates quickly, is prompt and experienced. His manager Carlos and rest of the crew are great too. read more

We had a great experience with Mike and Jeff. We have a huge deck and a balcony with wood expose to both east and west. After a year, i can already see some damages. I had absolutely little knowledge of how staining deck could be done and too lazy to search on my own. My neighbor started a group email to ask people to join as a group to keep the cost low. I am so glad that we did it. Mike made sure to explain the process to all of us ahead of time. Also he was able to provide estimate time frame for each unit for the job. When they were running late, he would immediately text to notify me. After every day's work, Mike would email and give us details and future plannings. The team are super efficient and made the whole project run extremely smooth. We will definitely hire again for re-staining in the future. read more

I cannot say enough about Greenworks (Mike and Crew)! They were amazing! Mike is very responsive and educates you along the process. We had Greenworks paint our entire condo prior to moving in. They were quick, detail oriented and very helpful when we had a million questions! We noticed that while replacing some knobs on doors, our new door knobs were smaller than the original that Mike and Crew painted around, so I asked Mike if they would be able to come and repaint around the knobs and he did it with no questions asked! Would recommend Greenworks to anyone looking for a great paint job and they accept QuickPay :) read more

I've personally worked with Greenworks Painting on several combination welding/painting projects now. I do the welding and Greenworks Painting does the painting portion of the work. I've gone through several painting firms in the past and have finally found a company I can comfortably recommend to my customers as well as my friends and family. The owner, Mike, has tremendous knowledge anything painting or coatings related. He's very professional and competitively priced, as well. Highly recommend! read more

All I could say is WOW!!!! We where selling our home and the realtor told us we will get more money for the house if we repainted. That was the last thing I wanted to do. I meet with Mike from Greenworks Painting and walked him threw the house. Mike gave me a price which was much lower then I thought it would be. They stared the work 2 days latter while I was out of town. When I returned from my trip I could not believe how great the place looked. My wife told me how professional the painters were and that after they left everyday they would clean up and you would have never know that were at the house during the day. We would like to thank Mike and his crew for the great job. Thanks Todd S read more

Can I give 6 Stars? I was suggested to give Greenworks a call for a project I've been putting off. I needed a few walls painted (outside and inside) with various shades. I almost did this myself. Thank God I called. In no particular order, why I give 5 stars: 1. My plan was backwards. If I did it my way, I would wasted a lot of time. 2. Mike was very informative, he gladly walked me through the process. 3. His crew was punctual, professional and the outcome met my expectations. 4. Mike followed up throughout the process and when completed. 5. His quote stood, no surprises and they finished when they said they would. Bonus, I asked him for input on a side project I was working on (garage floor). Not only did he advice me, he lent me a few tools! I know this is not customary but dang, what a good dude. I half heartily resisted but he insisted that it wasn't a big deal. Am I satisfied? Absolutely. read more

Wow, what a great experience my husband and I had with Greenworks Painting. We just purchased a new condo, so we were looking to make it our own with some fresh, new paint. We have never used painters before so were a little intimidated with the amount of contractors out there. We requested a quote from several companies, but Mike and Carlos were so quick to respond (calls, texts, and emails), extremely friendly, offered competitive pricing, and were so knowledgeable about what type of paint to use in our place that we decided to go with them. And we are so happy we did!! We had a tight time frame and several requirements from our condo association. They worked well under the pressure and finished the job in one day with amazing results! We were so lucky to have found Greenworks Painting and could not be happier!! If you need painters, hire this company! read more

We contacted them for a quote. Had a couple of emails back and forth, they were supposed to get back to us with a quote. Never heard from them again. We even emailed them for a follow-up, and got no response. If they can't reply at this stage, we are not confident to hire them to finish our project. read more

Mike and his team were a joy to work with! They were able to paint 2 rooms in my new apartment on very short notice. Also, Mike steered me in the right direction when it came to paint finish. A friend of mine said to go with a semi-gloss paint, but Mike offered is professional opinion and recommended eggshell. The result: 100% satisfied customer. read more

Greenworks Painting - Bedroom in Celtic Gray. - Painters Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I am so glad I found these guys on here. Most people told me - good luck finding a painter at the last minute in a busy moving season. Lots of companies were booking in August or later as I was calling around, trying to get paint done before moving furniture in. I was so lucky I reached Carlos. He is the main person handling the jobs now since Mike is kind of off work / doing back-office work with paternity leave. Carlos estimated from my floor plan & photos of the walls on the same phone call, he got back to me right away every time I had to get in touch with him about scheduling, elevator availability or parking and other details. Mike helped with the payment & getting the right color matched from a Sherwin Williams color I had previously picked out. They'll use Sherwin, but there were a few advantages of Benjamin Moore in my case. When there was some confusion in my local BM store about matching the SW color, Mike just called them & it was sorted out in a minute. Even though Mike is on leave, he still took the time to talk with me at length about what paint to get because I was concerned with VOCs. I have had migraines from paint in new apartments in the past & chemical smells give me headaches. It turned out that Benjamin Moore Ultra Spec 500 was fine - even though there is another one that is twice as expensive (Natura). Both are 0 VOC & Benjamin Moore sells Natura as "odorless" but Ultra Spec barely smelled like anything (Natura smelled a little strange in the can). I read too may complaints online about "Harmony" (zero VOC) from Sherwin & Mike was not a fan of it either. He didn't mind talking through all the brands and online reviews of the different lines so I could pick the right one. Also, the crew was incredibly fast. Another company wanted 4 days. I'm not sure why. This crew did it in 5 hours! And the price wasn't that bad. They were basically in the middle of the estimates, maybe lower than 2 and higher than 1 (none of whom could do it until July anyway except them). Anyway, it looks so much better now. I don't think I see one drop out of place (and I had a lot of trim & moldings to go around). I wish we painted more rooms if I knew they were this good. The pics don't really do it justice but it is really good. Brief update - I haven't had a single headache from Ultra Spec 500 from Benjamin Moore. It had zero odor around 7-10 days, without even opening windows. It has a very mild / minor smell in the first week which didn't give me any headaches at all. Contrasting that to what my old apt used, it's dramatically different. Thanks again for steering me in the right direction, Mike! read more

Total pleasure to work with! I reached out to Greenworks via yelp and Mike responded promptly. We took care of the details and pricing via text and Mike was able to make time to help me treat and stain two decks within two days. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and Mike was patient and walked me through the details of the work as well as suggestions for upkeep. He also came out to do the work himself as it was a bit of an emergency, which was awesome and much appreciated. Go for it! read more

Greenworks did a fantastic job painting our 3-story metal balcony structure which was beginning to rust. They spent a lot of time sanding, repairing and prepping everything before they painted, and even came back to do some final touch-up work without being asked, just to make sure everything was perfect. Their pricing was the best of the three quotes we obtained and we couldn't be happier with the quality of work. Highly recommended. read more

The Manager wouldn't call me back, it was very difficult to get a hold of Carlos. They arrived late to the job and left garbage behind. They also insisted on cash only so that means they are not reporting this income. They do take quickpay, just for me they insisted on cash. If you don't mind all of that the work quality was good. Right before the painters got there my apartment was spotless as nobody was living there, clean floors, clean counters, no garbage anywhere, so the Manager lied about the place being a mess when they got there. Very aggravating. read more

Greenworks and the owner Mike have been excellent to work with. Mike responded to my inquiry for a quote within minutes and provided what I thought to be a very fair estimate for my job. Mike's painter Angel was courteous, on time, and did a very thorough job. I can't say enough about Mike's customer service. We had a small issue with our job and Mike was at my house in (literally) minutes to see how he could make it right and get the work done to my satisfaction. Responsiveness like that does not go unnoticed by me. I wouldn't hesitate to use Greenworks again because of this phenomenal customer service. 5 star all the way! read more

They do fabulous work - and they do it on time and on budget! I just moved into a new place, and the kitchen cabinets are pretty sturdy and well made, but they were scuffed, dated, and worn. I had Mike's team paint them white, and they did a beautiful job. They were totally professional, careful, friendly, easy to communicate with, responsive... the list goes on and on. In the midst of a pretty chaotic reno, I couldn't have been happier with them. One of the few contractors I worked with who I would give a 5-star review! read more

The job was to remove all loose rust and paint the 6 exterior metal balconies of our condominium walk-up. It had been at least 10 years since anything was done so it was long overdue and Im glad I asked mike and his team. Originally, work was going to commence in late fall 2021, however due to unfavorable weather, the job needed to be postponed 6 months later this past spring. Despite ridiculous inflation, he honored the prices quoted then which was much appreciated. Mike was also patient in taking time explaining many things about the process and balcony maintenance with me as well. Finally, our project used a specialized machine which is rarely needed for these type of projects. Mike was gracious to take care of all the logistical hassles (and trust me, there were many unexpected ones) of renting and using it. It's not easy to find an honest and reasonably priced home-related contractor these days, but I'm glad I found Greenworks Painting and I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone. read more

If quality and care is what you are looking for with your painting project look no further than Greenworks Painting! The owner (Mike) came to my home and offered numerous suggestions on paint color, trim color, and crown molding. I went with his advice on everything and could not be happier. Initially, I wanted to replace most of my crown molding and baseboard. Mike suggested not to replace, but rather, how it could be brought back to life and now it looks brand new. This single piece of sound advice paid for a large chunk of the job! The staff (painters) at Greenworks were highly conscientious with how my home was treated during the job and were courteous to me and the other workers assisting in my rehab. Before you decide on anything with your painting project call Greenworks and ask for Mike. If not, you might pay way too much and have to do it a second time way sooner than you originally planned. We were so happy that we hired these guys. We were under the gun to get an entire condo painted so we could move my sister-in-law in before COVID ramped up again. Mike had a slot and the painters came the weekend after we signed the contract. Don't even bother with another company if you live in Chicago. Mike and his team of Henry, Tim, and Johnny are superb professionals, do fantastic work at reasonable prices, and are all-around nice people. Mike and his crew did a great job painting our kitchen cabinets, and painting our entire house, in preparation for putting our home on the market. We were nervous about the cabinet painting (as was our realtor) as painting cabinets takes precision and a lot of care to do it well.
