We decided to wallpaper our bathroom, we were motivated by the current trend to turn these spaces into little jewel boxes. We've papered in the past and understand the challenge and decided this time we would hire a PRO. Thankfully we found the right one w/ MWW. The team did an amazing job, we are so impressed w their work.  They were on time, completely knowledgeable and left the place super clean. I am a small business owner and understand the challenge of putting together a strong team and this team is a solid A + read more

Like many of the converted condos in the West Loop, we had a 3/4 wall for the second bedroom. In order to make it more rentable we wanted to finish the wall - but knew that the uneven beams pipes, and sprinkler placement, would be a challenge. Mike and his team were able to do a really nice job and the room is quieter and looks super sharp! Pics of the final product and process, below! read more

Mike and his team are awesome. We had used Mike to paint our kitchen cabinets many years ago and he did great work. We recently hired him again for several projects - backsplash tiling, wall painting, cabinet painting, floor refinishing, and a small remodel job on a fireplace. Mike and his team crushed it. All of their work looks fantastic and he was able to get it all done before we moved in, despite us adding to the project as we went. We will definitely be hiring Mike for future home projects. read more

My wife and I recently relocated back to Chicago from Houston. While we were waiting to close I started researching contractors because we knew we had some updates we wanted to do in our new place. I came across MWW Painting and emailed them. Mike responded quickly to my inquiry. From Houston, I explained the updates we wanted to have done and also sent him the listing pics/floor plan for our condo. He gave us a sight unseen preliminary quote for refinishing the hardwood floors, painting the kitchen cabinets along with the island and a buffet, re-tiling the fireplace surround, and adding a brick tile veneer to an entire wall. We were pleased with the quote he sent us. The day we closed on our condo, Mike came to physically see the unit. We then gave him a key and garage opener so he can access the building while we were back in Houston packing. We also added some addition projects. We wanted to add more storage to each side of the buffet cabinet, also make new doors for our entertainment center so they match the other shaker style cabinets, we adding oak window sills, and swapped out all our lighting for new lights. Mikes team was better than any other contractor we have used. They were very polite, on time, VERY detailed and cleaned up after them selves everyday. All our projects were done in a timely fashion and everything came out PERFECT!!!! We could not be happier and are already planning some new projects for Mike and his team. read more

Great experience. Sent a request for a quote via Yelp with some pictures of my powder room I was looking to have wallpapered and received a reasonable quote within a couple of hours and scheduled for a week later. The wallpaper installer was able to finish the job within the day and did an amazing job with everything lined up perfectly. Would 100% recommend. read more

Mike and his team were terrific in their work patching and painting a couple of rooms. There was clear communication throughout the entire process. The job was really well done and the cuts in the drywall where speaker wires had been installed were literally seamless. The paint was applied smoothly and there is no paint on the trim. They took care in the preparation before starting painting. The best part was that they completely cleaned up the areas they worked, including the dust from patching the holes. We will be using MWW Painting again! read more

This is my first Yelp review since my 2009 initiation inspired by immense satisfaction with Mike and his crew. Mike was referred by two other friends who used MWW for condo remodeling and commercial retail space renovation. They just completed an entire facelift of my high rise condo i.e. Replace carpet and tile with bamboo floors, paint cabinets, replace Formica countertops w marble, repaint entire condo, install new baseboards, install new lighting. How MWW stands out: 1. Top notch QUALITY workmanship 2. Very PROMPT and RELIABLE contractors 3. Very FAIR PRICING not veering from initial estimate. 4. PATIENCE with working under strict high rise condo regulations and incorporating minor changes in project scope. 5. TIDY workspace respecting my personal items and the common areas of condo 6. FRIENDLY and classy work crew 7. Great COMMUNICATION during "banker's hours" assuming mutual respect of personal time off i.e. weekends. Can't wait to refer MWW to more people or use them for next project! Thank you, Mike et al!!!! read more

I got Mike's contract information from a neighbor, who highly recommended him, based on painting he completed in her place. I needed someone to hang wallpaper, and Mike did an awesome job! He came out to see the room within a couple days of my first email to him, then he followed up with a clear estimate (including priming the walls!). On the day of the appointment, one of Mike's guys arrived promptly at 8:00am and had the work completed by the time I got home at 5:00. Overall, a fabulous experience, and I will definitely reach out to MWW for all my future painting and wallpaper needs! read more

I searched for a competent licensed general contractor for months with no luck. I took meetings with about 8 different general contractors and companies and was unimpressed by either their poor responsiveness, or the lack of detail in their quotes... that was until I met with Mike W from MWW Painting. Don't let the name fool you, this is a full-service (professional) general contractor. This was no small job - my vision basically called for ripping out every wall in a Chicago high-rise and relocating a bathroom, expanding a kitchen to 3x the original area, new electrical, copper plumbing, the works! Did I mention all of this took place in a high-rise? Moving toilets and bathtubs in a single-family home is hard enough - in a High-rise, it's practically unheard of! Mike and his crew made things extremely simple, they took this ambitious vision and were extremely patient as I planned out every detail with the architect, building engineer and the City. MWW also gave me a very reasonable quote and didn't play any games. Once I decided how to move forward they were extremely collaborative in the process. I met Mike half a dozen times at the condo before we started. He provided personal advice based on his experience throughout the project, which proved really helpful. Once they started construction, the process went really smooth. His guys showed up every day consistently and on time. The workmen were friendly, reliable, punctual and skilled. They put down floor protection and kept the jobsite as clean as possible. They gave me plenty of time to inspect the work in process, and touched up anything I noticed. Mike personally stopped by practically every day to check on things and was super responsive on the phone. When they ran into an issue they never took the easy/less expensive route...even if it meant negatively impacting their bottom line. Above and beyond is an understatement. They did it all: rough framing for walls, all new electrical, plumbing, drywall, finish carpentry, paint and wall paper. The condo looks amazing and I couldn't be happier with the quality of the work. If you're considering doing some remodeling, look no further... MWW Painting is the best! I plan on using them again in the future. Thanks to Mike and all the guys at MWW for your professionalism and accountability. read more

My husband and I were looking to update our cabinets and replace our kitchen sink. Mike was great and very timely when he came by our place to provide the initial estimates. The estimates provided were fair and less than others that we had received. Now for the cabinets, they look amazing! The removal and reinstallation of our doors after being painted offsite and the painting completed onsite was quick and seamless with great quality. The installation of our sink was also quick and of quality service. Will definitely think of them first when we want to update our bathrooms! As an aside, while their name is references only painting, they offer much more. So if you have questions about services just email and ask! read more

Couldn't be happier with Mike and his team (particularly Greg and Mario). We hired MWW to demolish, reframe, renovate and finish our closets. Greg designed and fabricated the new closets. Mario re-painted the rooms and our ceiling. Each day they were prompt on arrival and cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. Mike was communicative in planning before and during the work. The quality of the craftsmanship is excellent and it all turned out better than our expectations! All of that for a very reasonable price. We will absolutely work with MWW for future and recommend them to anyone who needs a contractor. Honestly, probably won't even ask other contractors if Mike and his team are available and willing to do the work. Don't hesitate. Hire these guys. read more

Mike and his team did such a great job. It took a little time to book them, but I'm glad I waited. The team arrived on time and were perfectionists with their work. I only wanted the cabinets done by professionals and they didn't disappoint. The finish is top notch and the walls look beautiful. They patched and removed existing hardware I no longer wanted, and did a fantastic job. Highly recommend. And with my busy schedule they were wonderful with working around delayed flights! I cannot recommend Mike and his team enough! We replaced our stair railing to make it safe for a very curious toddler, and the woodworker who did the railing did not do the finishing work (which we knew going into it). I reached out to three different paint companies as well as two floor-refinishing companies for quotes to stain the stair railing to match our floors - most of the floor staining companies seemed a little overwhelmed with the details of the project and some of the painters were concerned with being able to match our current floor stain color (a mix of 50% antique brown and 50% gray). Not Mike - we could tell that he had experience with work like this before and he asked all the right questions (down to what times his team could be there, and if we knew the brand of the stain used on our floors so he could match it). They even repaired the drywall around the staircase that was damaged during the railing demolition and subsequent installation. His team did a great job, and I would definitely recommend them! I'm pretty sure my house and floors were cleaner when I came back at the end of the day than when I left for work. His team was professional, always on time, and communicative throughout the whole process. read more

Pros: Excellent service and work, well priced. Cons: Mild delays in getting estimates and email responses back, I think because they're so busy. I requested laminate floor installation in the bedroom, new base moulding installation, and cabinet painting. Michal and his team are professional and on time with work. He was able to procure an insurance sheet listing my condo association as covered, quickly, also following the myriad of contractor rules at my Gold Coast condo. They definatelty have experience with high rise buildings. Michal emailed me PDF estimates of the work cost and stayed true to the price. The final price was never over the estimate. The laminate floor and baseboard installation was fast and crisp. Clean lines and well done. They repainted my cherry cabinet doors white, wow. The extensive prep work and spray painting was emaculate. I wish I had hired them for the painting job, but chose a different worker whose work is ok. read more

Mike and his team were great. It started w/ a strong quote (painting, small 1/2 bath reno, and installing large light fixture) and continued w/ his timely, professional staff. We wouldn't hesitate to use Mike and his team the next time we need any home services. read more

I can't say enough good things about Mike and his team. He's busy that is for sure and I know why. We had a second bedroom that hadn't been touched since the original construction of the building about 15 years ago. Concrete ceilings made the hope of adding molding dim. I got a hold of Mike several years ago and he did an awesome job (previous review), so I knew he was up for it. We needed the second bedroom to have a make over. We chose the touches. We wanted crown and accent moulding to run the room as well as baseboards. The job also included fixing up the walls and a new paint job. We sent our design to Mike and within a few weeks we were able to start. His men were prompt and smart. Do not be afraid to contact Mike with any questions or concerns. I met his guys the first day and gave them keys and helped arrange parking for the job. Depending on your building/house, it's important that you set up access with your doorman and set everyone's expectations. After that, his men worked self sufficiently without any issues. A few questions here and there but nothing major. I had no interruptions with my work schedule or my wife's. The room turned out magnificent. I am so impressed by the craftsmanship and professionalism. Again, I will definitely be using Mike and his crew in the future. read more

I am extremely happy that I had chosen Mike and his team to remodel my kitchen and living room area. After interviewing 5 other contractors, Mike gave me the fairest quote and was quick to respond to all my questions and concerns. The scope of the project were to gut and install new kitchen cabinets and island, Frame the living room wall to support a tv, fireplace, cabinets, recessed lighting, painting, etc... His team worked meticulously and was very respectful of my personal belongings. My first rehab project turned out so beautifully thanks to Mike and his team. Mike and his team were professional, easy to work with and meticulous. We hired them to paint our condo, including doors, railings and trim. They did a great job and were flexible with us (we were mid-move when they started.) They happily worked around movers, plumbers, our dog and our stuff. We were so happy with the painting they did, that we immediately hired Mike and his team again to paint our kitchen cabinets, install a back splash and hang light fixtures. Not only did was the job well done, but Mike was very understanding when we added in projects (some drywall work) and often made suggestions for improvements that we hadn't even thought of, but definitely made the kitchen look better. Perhaps they do great work, but I will never know. The quote process was like pulling teeth. For the quote was ever made, I let Michael know that I needed a quote for painting, a quote for crown molding in the front part of the home, and the quote for crown molding in the bedroom. I would then decide which areas, if not all, we would do. Five days later, the quote came in, wrong. Five more days passed before it came in, still not totally correct. Painting was always lumped in with the crown molding. If it needs to be that way, I'm not sure why that wasn't discussed in the in-home visit. I made it very clear that the crown molding was something I was considering, but only the painting was definitely happening. Never responded to my last message asking when we could schedule. Meanwhile, received quotes same-day from two other vendors, one before they even left. They got the job. Managing a home renovation is tough. Just getting quotes shouldn't be like pulling teeth. read more

Mike is fantastic. He and his team did a gut job on my bathroom, and they just recently completed a job painting my kitchen cabinets and putting in a new backsplash. The crew is professional, they clean up after themselves, and are used to working within the confines of condo/HOA rules and regulations. I would go straight to Mike with any future home projects given he's done a fantastic job twice now. read more

I had MWW repaint my entire condo, which they were able to complete in two days with two painters. I used a lot of different colors (nine if you count the trim), and was switching from white, so all walls required at least two coats, which MWW was happy to do. They used the paint I requested and their estimates were spot on as far as the amount of paint needed. They also took a TV mount off the wall for me and patched the drywall so I can't tell there was ever anything there. The painters Mike used were both friendly and did everything they could to accommodate me working from home while they were there. Perhaps the best thing about MWW was the price. Their estimate (which they stuck to) was over $1,000 lower than some other companies. No matter who you think you'll end up using, make sure you get multiple estimates, and make sure MWW is one of them, because the amount of variation between them can be shocking. read more

I cannot say enough about how happy I am with the results of multiple jobs completed by Mike and Arthur. I recently moved into a new condo this fall and needed to upgrade a bit. They completed a glass tile back splash in my kitchen, crown moulding throughout and completed stone work on my terrace. This is my fourth home and I have dealt with MANY painters / handymen / contractors. By far, Mike stands out as being one of the most courteous, professional, and prompt with his responses. As an extra bonus, his pricing was fair and he finished on budget with all three projects with no surprises. I have had many compliments on their work and I have not hesitated to recommend MWW to friends and family. VERY, VERY PLEASED!!! read more

WE LOVE MWW! MWW Painting repainted our kitchen cabinets, installed our kitchen backsplash, and added crown moulding to our upstairs. We were so happy with the work that we re-hired them to build a fireplace mantle with details above the fireplace as well as tiling. I gave them a photo I saw on Pinterest and they literally recreated it PERFECTLY. It's insane. It completely transformed our living room. Everyone I've worked with at MWW is hard working, talented, on-time, and dedicated. The work we did in our upstairs was so good that it was featured on a design blog. I do not post reviews often, but MWW calls for one. Living in Chicago can pose challenges when looking for dependable, trustworthy, reasonable and skilled painters/plumbers/electricians, etc. If you are planning on hiring a crew to paint, and you do not contact Mike first, you are wasting your time, money and the quality of work will suffer. MIke and his team had our family room, kitchen, and long hallway finished in just under 2 days. We were 'displaced' for only one night (Furniture under plastic wrap), and now the condo looks amazing. Oh, they were on time both days as well. We bought the paint, 5 gallons and had 1/2 a gallon left over. They cleaned up and left the place exactly how we had it. They also put our TV back up on the mount and re-connected the cable. I would email him for a quote, include as much detail as possible, (I included a link to our unit layout). He will get back to you within 24 hours with a fair price. Also, they do remodeling, bathrooms, other work. We will be using them again. read more

I have had MWW Painting do several jobs for me now. The thing that stands out for me is that they will try, try again and get it right. I often see contractors working to get the work done Mike and the whole crew will work to get it right. They are clean and clean up after themselves. They are polite and if you hire them to work in a condo association or area where other people will see them they are clean, uniformed and presentable so there is no safety concerns. The work gets done to 100% I have had them refinish wood trim and doors, paint walls and railings, do trim work/ replace a door, install wallpaper and several other handy man tasks. The price is always the same as the quoted price (I do not haggle because I want all workers to get paid for the work they do and not resent the work.) I chose them because of good reviews on Yelp and know Mike works hard so people all do give 5 star reviews. read more

Mike is great! Prompt, professional, and competitively priced. I first contacted Mike in August to receive an estimate. He came over and asked what I wanted from the paint job and was very helpful. The very next day, he emailed me a detailed estimate. Due to job stress and responsibilities, I had to delay the paint process and asked Mike if I could contact him in December. He understood the circumstances and said he would be happy to be contacted in December. Once late November hit, I contacted Mike and I booked him for the end of December. Prior to the job date, Mike communicated with me promptly via both email and phone. If I had any questions or concerns, I would hear from him right away. When it comes to the actual finished product, I can say I could not be happier. The condo looks great! I was quoted 5 days but he finished in 4. Also, the final price was exactly what we had discussed and there were no surprise fees. I also appreciated Mike's flexibility. He had to deal with my condo association's strict rules which is not easy. Due to my pleasant experience with Mike and a great-looking condo, I would highly recommend Mike! read more

Within minutes the guys had exact matches after taking chips of paint off of my wall and having it matched up. The guys were extremely polite, thorough and professional.
