Ham n Egg has the best food around. It is always hot and delicious. We go there at least once a week it is that good. Service you couldn't ask for better all of the waitresses and waiters are polite, always smiling and just makes your day when you are there. This review is on the service and not the food. The food was typical breakfast food. It was good and there were a few healthy options. We arrived at 9:30am on a Saturday and were seated immediately. Our waitress came over and quickly brought drinks and took our order. Then we waited one hour for the food to arrive. One problem is the mass amount of GrubHub and DoorDash orders taking precedence. But two other tables behind us that arrived after we did received their food before we did. I get that it's a unique time in history with a global pandemic, but this restaurant seemed disorganized beyond just that. I hope they can pull it together and continue to stay open. read more

The place feels like it SHOULD be a great little spot for breakfast, and other reviews clearly disagree with me but if you are someone who appreciates quality and service - you are better served to go literally anywhere else. Waffle House. First Watch. Denny's. Quick Trip. Little Caesars. After our visit to Ham 'n Egg, I had never understood how bad a basic breakfast could be...it was three steps below mediocre and meh. In addition to the quality of food being sub-par, we also had to wait an insurmountably long period of time: to be served, to get food, to get our check, to pay, etc... I completely understand that labor is not in ample supply - but c'mon folks...other places are making it work. We have to do better as a society. The servers were nice - but did not seem to care how long everything took, it was more or less a joke to them as to how long everything thing takes. The best thing about Ham 'n Egg is that it is a fantastic NAME for a breakfast place. The diner-esque atmosphere could be a positive nostalgic element, but instead it appears to be accidentally cute. I understand it is possible that the day we chose to eat there was the day they were auditioning the world's worst chef who was cooking while hungover, and they had just restocked their food with a supply of the world's worst eggs, bread, coffee, meat, etc...? And somehow all of this happened ONLY on the day that we went? I find that unlikely...but perhaps...? Since we traveled from STL to St. Charles to try this place, I will say that it is unlikely that we will try Ham & Egg again considering that life is short and there are plenty of other options with much better chances of providing a positive experience. I would not recommend Ham n'Egg unless you are going in expecting the service and the food to fail to meet up to the expectations of a place with such a great name. What is needed for me to give Ham 'n Egg a better rating? - Servers who care. - A chef who cooks with love and a basic desire to make good food. - A sense of urgency. - Professionalism. - Flavor. - Quality ingredients. - A service mindset. I would highly recommend the team at Ham n' Egg view the TV show The Bear... specifically Season 2: Episode 7. The New Management is very attentive and hard working. They explained they are a family who bought from the previous owner. I love to see a family working hard together to run a successful business. It was our first time trying this place and it was ok!! I had the hangover an the sandwich was delicious but the potatoes we're very blend! No seasoning of any kind. Pancakes were also good! This place is gross. I went here for the first (and last) time today expecting middle of the road breakfast food. I paid almost $10 for the avo/egg/feta/tomato breakfast sandwich with home fries with cheese on them. It was absolutely foul and I'm not finishing the food. There was a tiny tiny bit of tomato and feta; there was supposed to be avo spread on the toast and it looked like 5 day gone bad avo spread, barely enough to cover a piece of bread. The eggs were fine but greasy. The "special sauce" on top is VERY strongly flavored and reminds me of a deviled egg-Hollandaise combo - didn't work well with the sandwich. The home fries are potato slices and they were DRIPPING with grease. It was unbearable. The cheese on top was a bit if shredded cheddar. They have way more than breakfast, and I think they could reach a bigger market by adjusting the name. Very clean and friendly environment. Ordered Ruben and Fries, BLT and Fries w/ coleslaw. Everything was good! Coleslaw was too 'sloppy' and was chopped to bits. Ruben needed to be crispier in every way. Bread toasted more and pastrami grilled for a minute. I will definitely be returning! Great local place. It feels good when you support a restaurant like this. Formally located in the old sonic building. You get the home type atmoshpere here like your moms cooking and portions. Everything I had for breakfast was great. The sausage pattys did taste like the ones from McDonalds so they tasted frozen but with the portion sizes and cheap price I cant complain. I ordered one of the breakfast skillets, which generally are served in a skillet, with the ingredients layered, but mine just came out on a plate, and not really layered. My gravy was barely warm.
