Main Street Diner Has a great lively dancing crowd when they have a live band or DJ. Just won a food tasting contest by serving her food at this large party. She is so nice and what chef in Stl cooks to order! No microwave and she starts preparing your order when you call!!

Great local diner with great prices! The menu has a ton of options. I ordered the # 6 It came with 2 eggs, Pancake, Choice of meat (Ham, bacon or sausage) and toast! I left so full and that meals was less than $9! The server was super fast and always filling up the coffee. It was such a cute diner and I lived that they had a ramp and stairs for the entrance. Great breakfast spot in old town St. Peter's!

Big portion southern food. OG vibes. The women running this is super sweet and all smiles. I been here a few times and love the low prices. More seating on back porch. Wish there was more parking but just had to settle for winery parking lot. For three meals only spent 35$.

Ownership changed in February 2022 but this was a first visit so I can't comment on before/after changes. However, I'd heard many good things about Main Street Diner and came away unimpressed. Firstly, "diner" usually conjures images of a large menu of breakfast to late night dessert items. MSD is only open to early afternoon so the menu--which seemed abbreviated--contained some standard breakfast meals and lunch sandwiches. The scrambled eggs were satisfactory and came with a toasted English muffin. A large side bowl of mixed fruit could have been a separate main item. My fried egg, bacon, and ham sandwich was much like an Egg McMuffin on whole wheat bread--acceptable but not outstanding. For a breakfast place, there were no jam/jelly packets on the tables. Variety is offered: our server promoted the next day's Jamaican Day menu that included oxtail, jerk chicken, and Creole items. We came in with the intention to purchase a gift certificate for a friend who likes independent restaurants. "That's in the pipeline but not offered now," was the response. Stunning, considering you can easily make a gift certificate in Microsoft Word. The interior was bright and cheery in this former ranch house.

#7 breakfast, French toast and bacon

We found this little spot in a charming part of St. Peter's that we didn't even know existed. Walking in, I immediately noticed how CLEAN this diner is. We were greeted right away and told we could sit anywhere we'd like so we opted for a table right up front. Our server was a friendly young lady with an absolutely pleasant attitude. You can tell she likes her job and as it turns out, she's good at it. We started with coffee and Mountain Dew. Hands down, my husband says it's the best coffee he's probably ever had. He could tell that a coffee lover works there. I was equally impressed with the soda, it was apparent that their fountain machine was calibrated perfectly. For most that's not a big deal but to me it is. I'd go back for the soda alone. The menu was simple, but straightforward and our food was served fast. I got the #7 which had eggs, biscuits and gravy, hash browns and some of the best bacon I've ever had. Oh my goodness, that bacon... I'll no doubt have dreams of it. My husband chose the French toast which he said was excellent. The batter they use isn't your normal plain Jane egg wash. Theirs has a smattering of korintje cinnamon and it made a ton of difference. Overall the food was great and in my opinion a bargain. While finishing up we chatted with the owner who is just the sweetest lady. Personally, we love supporting small family owned businesses, especially when they're owned by good people. All in all, we'd absolutely recommend this place to anyone wanting a good meal for a decent price in a clean atmosphere. I know we will be back.

Jerk chicken, rice and beans with cabbage

This weekend's special was an absolute treat! We ordered the jerk and curry chicken, and each bite was a flavor-packed journey. The jerk chicken had the perfect balance of smoky heat and bold spices, while the curry chicken offered a rich, comforting warmth that lingered just right. The portions were incredibly generous--enough for us to fully indulge in both entrees and savor the unique tastes of each. If you're looking for a meal that delivers both variety and satisfaction, this one's a must-try! Service was amazing! Nice music playing.

When reviewing the menu all the traditional dishes you expect to find in a classic diner as well as some great skillets to choose from. I searched "country fried steak" & "chicken fried steak" and both results led me to this place…read more I am a big chicken fried steak breakfast person. My fiancee and I decided to check this out because she wanted pancakes. We mapped our way to Hwy 47 Kitchen - and as we pulled it, it was a gas station. I immediately was hesitant. We pulled around the back where it looks like they had a drive thru once before. The signage was all missing - i was considering turning around and going home. We parked, walked in, and it was packed... so, i thought okay maybe the food is decent. We sat down, were given water and menus. We both picked our breakfast entree and opted for coffee. The food came out fast, our waitress was nice and quick. Her pancakes were very large, they came with bacon, hash browns, and eggs. It was more food than she knew what to do with. She ended up getting half of it to go. My chicken fried steak was crispy, tasty, and had a decent amount of gravy on it. The eggs were obviously cooked on a flat top, and they had a nice texture to them. The hash browns had a bit too much butter for me - i had to over season them because they were soggy. My only other complaint was the amount of flies buzzing around. Other than that, it exceeded my expectations. I am glad I didn't judge this book by its cover.
