Amazing isn't the word for this place. Let's say, delightful & maybe delicious. The service feels like we're being served at home. Home style love.

AMAZING PLACE (5-18-25) I know this place has had several different owners (operators) over the years. But the current operator is FANTASTIC. This place is a hidden GEM. I would highly recommend trying this place (or coming back, if haven't been In a while). Excellent food, Excellent Service! Family atmosphere!

This is the best breakfast diner in the area. I've looked. I've compared, and Ham & Eggs remains the absolute best. I have been going here for years, and have had the same terrific server most of the time. The portions are great, the menu is just creative enough, and I've never had a bad breakfast. Good coffee. It's an old Sonic, so it's not gigantic, but I have never had to wait for a table. All breakfast diners should be as consistently-good as Ham & Eggs.

I ate here for the first time today and ordered the farmer skillet. Grandpa comes here pretty much every Sunday. The staff members him and I think he really enjoys it. He loves the woman that cooks in the kitchen and says she's the mama of the house. They are all very kind to him. My husband got the pancake bundle and the pancakes are very good and flavorful. I can't put my finger on what was in it. I couldn't decide if it was cinnamon or maybe some brown sugar but the pancakes were very delicious. Grandpa always gets a ham and cheese omelette and it comes with potatoes or fries very filling for him and he always has leftovers. The farmers skillet was delicious and definitely a lot of food. It's a small, quaint restaurant, but very cozy

Great breakfast spot with very large helpings. The service is really fast and the food is made fresh. I ordered the sweet potato bowl and I must say that it was delicious and I had breakfast the next day with the leftovers. The prices are fair and well worth the serving size.

First time here, and loved it. Everything served at a perfect temperature with hardy portions. I had a cheese and sausage omelet with one pancake on the side. My wife had the keto bowl. Fast and friendly service in a cute venue. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

Love this place! High quality ingredients....Look at ALL that fresh fruit!! My husband loves their Philly cheesesteak skillet. Been here multiple times and they never disappoint. Breakfast all day, 7am-3pm. Quick. Comfortable. No line. Excellent food. Highly recommended. *Closed Tuesdays

My husband and I went to the Ham and Egg for Brunch on a Sunday around 10:00am. It was very busy. When we did get sat, our server was super sweet but it seemed like she was the only server in the whole restaurant. We had to wait quite awhile for our food and it was very good! However, they definetley need more staff. We waited a long time to pay at the end as well.

So peaceful, beautiful, and the perfect start to our morning! What truly made the experience exceptional was our server, Jenn. She was incredible from start to finish!! She was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. She made great recommendations, checked on us at all the right times, and went above and beyond in ways you don't see often. My husband is picky about biscuits and gravy, and Jenn kindly brought him a sample of the gravy first to make sure he'd like it...such a small gesture to some people, but truly made it special for my husband. She even sent us off with coffee to go, which we really appreciated!! The food was just as impressive. I had the traditional breakfast. Everything was cooked perfectly, the potatoes were nice and crispy, Jenn recommended the ham, which was so flavorful and perfectly charred, so good!!! My husband ended up loving his biscuits and gravy! Between the amazing service, delicious food, and relaxing riverfront setting, this was easily one of our favorite breakfast experiences. Jenn truly made it memorable, and we'll definitely be asking for her every time we come back. Can't wait to return!!

I had this place in the bookmarks and figured now was the best time to visit. Parking can be an issues in Downtown St. Charles since it is limited to street parking or public parking a few blocks away. We found parking right in front of FPC, mainly because it was a cold, Monday morning. We were greeted immediately, and inside was much smaller than I expected. We got seated right away though, and a good chance to really review the menu. I got a house coffee (delicious), and my husband got a Purple Haze Lemonade. We ended up getting a kid's pancake with bacon and scrambled eggs, Short Rib Breakfast Stack, and a Bomb Burrito. The pancake for my 2 year old was MASSIVE so it was a good day for him lol. The short rib stack was yummy - hash browns with runny eggs and meat on top. The burrito was also pretty good. Our breakfast entrees came with a side order of potatoes and while it was good, it got saltier over time so I might not get that next time. They advertise beignets, so we might go for that next time and try out their lunch menu!

I normally don't like leaving negative reviews, but something felt different this time. When we walked in there was only one other couple dining, and there was noticeable clutter sitting in the corners of the restaurant. It gave the place a different feel than what we remembered from our last visit. I ordered the Creole Breakfast Gravy. The biscuit itself was excellent--light, fluffy, and exactly how a biscuit should be. Unfortunately the gravy was disappointing. It tasted more like regular sausage gravy with a heavy amount of cayenne pepper and Cajun seasoning added to it. The flavors just didn't balance well. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict. One poached egg was perfect, but the other came out over medium. That's something a trained chef normally wouldn't send out, and it made me feel like the kitchen might have a cook working the line rather than a chef overseeing the dishes. I do want to say the waitress was phenomenal. She was very attentive, friendly, and always made sure our coffee stayed fresh and hot. Her service was definitely the highlight of the visit. We will likely come back again because we know this restaurant can do better. Hopefully the kitchen can correct a few things and bring the consistency back.

Let me start by saying that the food is usually very good. First Watch is one of my favorite breakfast spots, and I visit often. However, today's meal fell short of what I have come to expect. I ordered my usual smoked salmon dish and immediately noticed there was much less salmon on the plate than normal. I also requested that the salmon be cooked a little, as I typically do. When the plate arrived, the portion was noticeably smaller than what I have received on countless previous visits and the salmon was a little hard. In addition, the tomatoes were soggy, which further affected the quality of the meal. I politely mentioned my concerns and asked for more salmon. The manager did attempt to accommodate my request and brought out additional salmon, which I appreciated. However, even after the additional salmon was added, the portion still did not resemble what I am accustomed to receiving when ordering this dish. During our conversation, I was told that adding more salmon would not make much difference because it "shrivels up" when cooked. As someone who orders this meal regularly, that explanation did not align with my past experiences. What disappointed me most was not that a mistake may have been made, but how the concern was handled. As a loyal customer, I wasn't looking for an argument or an explanation. I was simply hoping the manager would acknowledge my concern and ensure I left satisfied. Instead, I felt like I had to defend my own experience with a dish that I order frequently. Additionally, my niece had the same meal. Hers was the same way, but after she saw what happened with me, she didn't even ask for anymore. She just ate it the way it was. At that point, I chose not to make a bigger issue of it and became quiet, but the interaction changed the atmosphere of what was supposed to be an enjoyable birthday breakfast. I will continue to visit First Watch because I generally enjoy the food and have had many positive experiences there. However, I hope this feedback is taken seriously. Customer service is often remembered long after the meal is over, and while I appreciate the manager's attempt to correct the issue, today's experience did not reflect the level of quality or service that has kept me coming back over the years.

I'd suggest that people were there to visit downtown St. Charles, or whatever it's called, which has a certain old-timey charm to it, but everything else was closed--presumably until later in the day, but who knows. That fentanyl is a menace. Parking could be a pain, if it's not the wee hours of the morning on a weekend, and you're not ambulatory enough to walk from a block or two over, and yet you're going to get essentially the equivalent of a milkshake and a donut. Inside is rustic, inviting and larger than you'd think, with an upstairs area that I didn't bother to explore, due to lack of curiosity. We had a larger group and ended up pushing a few smaller tables together, plus a few chairs we borrowed from other tables. No one seemed to mind. The key is not to ask first. That mentality will take you far in both the world of finance and dating. I'm kind of over ordering food from coffee shops, where they're obviously just throwing something in the microwave and charging you $10 for it, but I needed something to eat. I'd just gone for a run. Their burrito looked like the textbook definition of cultural appropriation, but it also looked like it might not be half bad. I had their equivalent of an Egg McMuffin, called Ron's Breakfast Sandwich, or something to that effect. When I hear the name Ron, I of course think of Sasso from Carlito's Way, but that probably says more about me than anything else. I'm assuming he didn't have anything to do with this. Essentially, this was a store-bought English muffin, a surprisingly generous and delicious helping of cheddar cheese, a few slices of seemingly prepackaged black forest ham and a fried egg. It was fine for what it was. Could the egg have been salted, could the muffin have been buttered and could the ham been an actual slice of Canadian bacon, or even better, American bacon? Sure, but I went into this with low expectations. The cheddar was melty and delicious, and weirdly abundant, but processed American cheese would have been more fitting for this kind of sandwich. You'd think a guy named Ron wouldn't object to processed foods. The caramel frappe I had was amazing. I got it with whole milk and whipped cream. I didn't bother to check and see if they charge you extra for whipped cream, which is the kind of crap some of these places have been known to pull. I got the 16 oz instead of the 20 oz, but it was probably still enough to take a day off the end of my life (when I don't need it as much anyway fwiw). Sometimes, when a food item tastes good enough, you can just tell it's not good for you, and that was the case with this drink. It was decidedly rich. I'm never in this part of town, and if I were, it would be at night, natch, but if things ever get to the point where they're clearly trending in that direction, I might start stopping by on the reg and getting that caramel frappe just to speed along the process of my demise.

Within minutes, that feeling had disappeared. The martini was perfectly prepared, and the beet and burrata salad was fresh, balanced, and exactly the light meal I was hoping to find. More importantly, the atmosphere accomplished something great restaurants rarely get credit for: it changed my mood. What began as an evening I hadn't planned to spend alone became one I genuinely enjoyed.
