Ordered a Reuben and the corned beef was cut into squares about 3/8" x 3/8", I basically had to eat it with a fork, and I actually think they buy cold cuts and chop them up. My wife ordered an omelette with bacon, cheese, and avocado. First bite, an onion. She hates onions. The avocado also looked like it was pre-packaged guacamole from somewhere and she said it tasted like it too. I mean, how hard is it to slice an avocado? This is a cozy diner. The decor is made up of record album and celebrities such as Elvis. My server was awesome. She was very nice and attentive. She took care to make sure everything was perfect. The food was very good. I got the rueben. It was delicious. The fries were good, but they were too salty. The server brought us some more fries with no salt. These were great. Although I would have liked some salt but another member of my party requested no salt. I couldn't eat all my fries as I was full. I also got a root beer float. Overall I like this place, the food and hostess both good. Here is my issue. On Saturday 11/9 my wife and I went here for breakfast. The server asked my wife if she wanted a mimosa, then asked what kind - pineapple, cranberry or orange. The mimosa was $7.99 and we were charged another $4.99 for the juice. The problem is I was never told there was an extra charge for the juice. I should've been given that choice. I have been to Bishops Diner many times and went again over the weekend. I like it because it is a very down to earth place. Usually it is easy to get seated and the food is good. I alway go for breakfast. I usually get the Apple Cinnamon Pancake Breakfast or the Colorado Scramble. They are both very good. My wife likes the Club Benedict. Since the restaurant became Bishop's they have put up a couple of flat screen for sports broadcast and it also has a bar too. I am sure we wil visit Bishop's again. read more

For $16.99 I got one dry pancake, some sort of fake maple syrup that had no flavor, two eggs (OK) and two tiny strips of overcooked bacon that were so scrawny they looked like they came from Dollar General. My wife found this diner and wanted to give it a try. We both enjoyed the visit. It's an interesting place as it is a breakfast place by day, and steaks/seafood by night, going by the name Bishops Steak, Seafood & Spirits. I was going to get biscuits and gravy, but as I was ordering, they mentioned the biscuits were not homemade, but Pillsbury. I can get those at home, so I went with the Mexican omelette. It was not what I expected because the omelette was used like a tortilla wrapping up chorizo, onions, cheese, and other goodies, topped with guacamole and sour cream. It was cooked very well and was packed with flavor. The hash browns as a side were crispy and delicious. The coffee was really good, bold, not bitter flavor. My wife got coffee and eggs Benedict and said it tasted great. With two coffees and two breakfast plates and tip it was $40, a little pricey for breakfast food in my opinion. This was our second time visiting the Breakfast Club. We found the experience as good as last time but with one little hiccup...The wait time. When we entered there were several folks waiting and one of the servers told us the kitchen was backed up so there would be a wait of approximately 20 - 25 minutes. The wait turned into 45 - 50 minutes with several disgruntled customers in the mix. Some left, some stayed, and complained, while others just patiently waited, joked around and had a nice visit with their Dad's since it was Father's Day. Once we were seated things went from stressful to calm and relaxing. Strange how that happens once removed from the situation. Our server was very calming and friendly which helped greatly. The restaurant has booths with several 4-top tables and a Meeting Room for reservations of larger parties. Natural light flows through the large windows and the booths are made from lighter wood. The atmosphere is bright, comfortable and you're able to hear your friends while having a conversation. They serve endless Mimosas on Saturdays and Sundays for $15 or buy singles . You'll find beer, wine and Bloody Mary's as well. I enjoy the diverse menu taking into consideration the healthier diners to those who love their carbs and sweets. The Health Club selections offer Avocado Toast, Berry Steel Oatmeal, Fritattas, Omelettes or Fresh Fruit and Yogurt. Breakfast Club offers all the Classic entrees including Benedicts to Omlettes and Scrambles. I love how fresh the ingredients are and the use of several veggies in each Omelette or Scramble. You'll find avocado, asparagus, crimini mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, spinach plus many meats. One of my favorites is the Spinach, Bacon and Avocado Scramble or the Spinach, Bacon, Mushroom Omelette. Both delish! My husband and our niece's husband both ordered from the Griddle Section on this trip. He ordered the Belgium Waffle topped with fresh berries and Powdered Sugar. My husband surprised me by ordering the Strawberry, Banana Waffle. A Belgium Waffle topped with strawberries, bananas, toasted walnuts, Powdered Sugar and Whipped Cream. Both served with two eggs, your way, a choice of two slices of hardwood-smoked bacon, ham or sausage patties. Both of their plates were soon clean. Our niece ordered the Colorado Scramble which is eggs scrambled with smoked ham, green peppers, roasted tomatoes and onions topped with melted pepper jack and fresh herbs. Served with bacon or sausage patties, green chilies or salsa and rye toast. She also added jalapenos to her Scramble. She said it was very good especially with the jalapenos and rye toast. My order was the Big Egg Biscuit and Gravy. I really enjoy but I wish I had ordered a touch more sausage gravy. The biscuit is opened and covered with sausage gravy and served with 2 eggs, your way, and home fries or hash browns. I could only eat half of it but my doggies enjoyed the leftovers. Bishop's is under new ownership, has recently re-opened for dinner, and is being operated by a Greek family. It's tucked away and hard to see, but it's worth a visit or a re-visit. As previously stated my wife and I like to try new places. We came across Bishops Steak and Seafood. First the review on the restaurant environment. I think the place ( granted it is new) has an identity problem. You can tell the restaurant is dual purpose. For breakfast it's called the Breakfast Club, and I guess at a certain time of day it switches to Bishops. The decor is not bad, however it just doesn't fit the name. It's bright in there and they were playing hip hop music which once again we don't care, just not in a steak restaurant. It was VERY cold in there, so cold my wife wore her winter coat the entire visit. We asked twice if they could turn the heat up and they said they would. Not sure if they ever did. The silverware is I believe from the Breakfast Club. It's very thin, and the steak knives are real thin, not what you would expect. This is just feedback from us, not a huge deal but just different for the menu prices they charge. Now the important stuff , the food... My wife ordered the chicken Marsala and I ordered the 8 oz Filet. Both meals came with vegetable and a twice baked potato. The steak meal also comes with a dessert, which I usually don't eat BUT since it came with the meal how can I say no lol. The steak only comes with the salad and dessert before 6. My wife said her chicken was good, not great. The green beans were delicious, as was the twice baked potato. My filet was cooked perfect and had rosemary butter on top of it which adds to the flavor . As with my wife's meal, the veggies and potato were delicious. My dessert was a piece of chocolate cake which was very moist and tasty. Overall this was a good first experience. Like I said, they are brand new so a few tweaks here and there will make it cozier. If you are in the O'Fallon area give them a try. Not many good steaks in O'Fallon, this one was good. read more

Wow it was delicious, chicken was flavorful and cooked to perfection with a tasty sauce accompanying it. The mashed potatoes were REAL not instant and oh so yummy along with green beans. Husband had the Walleye with fries and we both agreed it was fried just right and so tasty. Dessert was a decadent chocolate cake, a perfect way to finish the meal. Enjoyed my breakfast, the egg club sandwich. It's hard to mess up a classic like a club plus the egg makes it even better, my only complaint was that the sourdough bread was pretty crumbly and messy.
