I always love to come here for a sandwich and potato soup. It is a small and cute little shop with a lot to offer, including friendly staff. Food is always got and fresh and the drinks are delicious as well. There is a little something for everyone here if you are a fan of healthier fare. The Tina Melt is Delicious as is the Turkey sandwich. My only complaint is the price. For soup and sandwiches it is on the pricier side albeit quality is superior. My daughter and I absolutely love to stop in here for lunch when we are in the area. read more

As a would-be athlete, I'm in the area on the reg. I once even ran a marathon nearby. Perhaps needless to say, I don't ride a bicycle. Bike Stop Cafe is legendary. People are always suggesting we stop by after a run. Their chocolate salty balls, or whatever they're called, are legendary. But I'd never had a chance to visit until today. In fact, we were going to meet at some place down the street that serves crepes, but it was closed. The people who own it just up and put a Gone Fishin' sign in the window. Hopefully, they're not on drugs. If I wanted to visit an establishment in the Grove, I'd visit an establishment in the Grove. Not to fear. Not only was Bike Stop Cafe open, it's open way early. You could have coffee before or after your run. Both, even! I didn't get a chance to look around much inside, but it seems like it might not accommodate as many people as you'd think. We were a group of maybe 15, and we sat outdoors. There's plenty of seating outdoors. That would be useless in inclement weather, but why would you be riding a bicycle in inclement weather? Too many DUIs? Like literally every coffee shop, Bike Stop has a small list of seasonal drink selections, one of which was some sort of banana latte. I've only had success with banana-flavored drinks and desserts, so that was a no brainer. It was a bit sweeter and less complex than I required but still really good. I got it with whole milk, which I think is key with these lattes, and it was nice and viscous. No Diddy. It felt rich and luxurious, almost like a melted milkshake. Their sandwich selection left a lot to be desired. They're probably all really good, but it's not clear what these things even are. Their names are all bicycle-related puns. I went with one of--or maybe the only--breakfast sandwich and/or wrap with meat in it, the Century. It was fine, but I kinda wish I'd gone with one of the more interesting-looking breakfast items, without meat in it. There was a Greek wrap, with feta, spinach and what have you, that seemed like it might be good. The Century has eggs, ham, cheddar tomatoes and maybe onions, and it comes with a little cup of ranch, for some reason. Uh, why? To impress Europeans here to watch the World Cup? Nothing against ranch, which can be fine on a salad when you're at your uncultured grandma's house, but I wonder if people who dip their fries, tendies and what have you in ranch wouldn't prefer plain ol' mayonnaise, gross though it may seem (to you, because you don't know any better). Really, what this thing needed was hot sauce and/or salsa. Also, I think it'd be better with bacon instead of ham. Or if it has to be ham, for cultural reasons, it should be a thick wedge of ham that's been grilled on a flat top, instead of deli slices. I toyed around with the idea of getting the chocolate salty balls, but I couldn't remember what they're really called, and I didn't want there to be "an incident." It was as hot as, well, balls out, and I think I may have permanently damaged my brain. If I'm ever able to find my way back, I'll have to study the menu beforehand. read more

Delicious vegetarian sandwiches and soups & good breakfast burritos. Nothing outstanding, just your standard fare, but quality ingredients and a nice casual atmosphere. Only a few small bistro style tables inside but they have a large patio area with forests with a view of the river & the Lewis & Clark memorial. Was in town for a visit and decided to stop at the Bike Stop Cafe for lunch. I was honestly underwhelmed. We ordered two standard deli sandwiches (the abbey and Klondike), a side of guacamole, and an Arnold Palmer and our bill was over $40!! The sandwiches were just average (not bad, but not great either). The star of the show was definitely the guacamole! I loved that it had a little kick to it, but $1.99 for the small container was a bit pricey! I am giving this lunch 3 stars. Came here with a friend after walking around Main Street. Popped in on a Sunday and there wasn't a wait for a table and barely a line to order. Me and my friend both got sandwiches. I got the tour of Italy which was super good. Only downside about the food was I didn't personally love the chips. Everything was clean and the decor was interesting. They didn't have the biggest inside but lots of outside seating for when the weather is nice. read more

Who knew Aunt Jo was an influencer? She led me straight to Bike Stop Cafe in Saint Charles, it's a bike trail oracle. The Katy Trail literally runs past it. I guess everyone knew this place existed but me. You can rent a bike, fix a flat, take a shuttle, send your luggage off on its own solo adventure (luggage transfer), but, of course, I came for the food. Specifically, the Greek Goddess wrap. Pesto, you perfect little green sauce, never stop being you. And this spot is eclectic and adorable. We stopped for midafternoon coffee while strolling Main Street. It was my husband's 75th birthday, and it appealed to him as a former cyclist. Apparently current cyclists like it too - there were a lot of bikes parked on the patio. The coffee area is dark and small (it's also a bike sales and repair shop), and they can't do blended drinks, but our hot latte, iced caramel-chocolate turtle latte, and "power cookie" were all perfect. (Top - single shots of caramel and chocolate were plenty instead of of the usual two).) It was a beautiful, balmy, mid-September day, so the patio overlooking the river was an ideal spot to hang out for a while. read more

Stopped here Thursday, after playing pickleball. We did not care for these: No price on menu Difficult to order No normal food, just unusual items. Staff was friendly, but it was very difficult to find something appetizing. We finally ordered a cup of soup, (was great) a quesadilla, and a grilled cheese sandwich, (neither were good at all) and one drink. The bill was $42. Cute lunch spot in St. Charles but unfortunately sandwiches left us underwhelmed and I do not recommend. Was busy on a Saturday around noon with outdoor seating area viewing the Mississippi. The counter discouraged us from ordering food by giving us a bogus wait estimate but the sandwiches came out in no time. No frills. The ingredients were good especially the fresh bread and lettuce. Middling-quality turkey but the real issue was that a sandwich has only a tiny thin slice of meat so the proportions don't work. It would be a very simple fix, I would recommend double the meat on half the sandwich size for overall 4x more turkey. This was both types of sandwiches we ordered. read more

I stopped here a couple days a week after riding the Katie trail and the food is always delicious the other day we came here after closed because of a flat tire and the guy in the repair shop stayed after to help us and repair the tire. Gotta say I was extremely underwhelmed by the quality of the food received. One would presume that a breakfast wraps contents would be cooked and warm. The vegetables were raw chopped not cooked at all (onions, mushrooms and tomato) and the ham pieces (cut up lunch meat) were all cold, cheese was barely melted mostly just from the panini press. They serve a variety of coffees, lattes, smoothies, teas, baked goods, sandwiches, soups, salads, wraps and breakfast all day, among a variety of other choices! Food was fresh and a perfect portion. I had the Greek Goddess: Eggs, feta, red onion, tomato, avocado & organic spinach. Served with a side of pesto on a wheat wrap. Delicious! My husband and daughter had the Abbey: Mozzarella and turkey on house-baked sourdough grilled to melt. Both said it was very good with high marks for the bread. This place is perfect when the weather is nice outside, and you want a chill spot to relax on a patio. I love that there are plenty of tables and outdoor umbrellas, and large trees surround the area, making it extra cozy. The interior is lively with wall decorations, and there's a bike shop next door with accessories for you and your bike. Regarding food, there are various options, including sandwiches and coffee. Bike Shop Cafe has everything for a nice rental and ride. E-Bike was so fun and so easy to use. They had many bikes to rent as well as kid carriers. Shop is right on the trail at Frontier Park in St Charles MO. We did a casual ride because I had not ridden a bike in a long time. Bike was plenty speedy for me and the food was yummy after the ride.
